Peacekeepers: Finale

Location:	An abandoned underground complex in northern New York, converted into a factory fortress
Synopsis:	The Light's forces attack the Peacekeeper fortress under the mountains in northern New York. The resulting last stand brings the Peacekeeper menace to an end, with one straggler witness flying away.

Lex Luthor has posed:
The mountain was quiet. Indeed, the outside of the tunnel still gave the impression it was abandoned...

But Lex and Victor knew better. As the LexKnight armor flew over the mountain towards the waiting mercenary squad of about a dozen and landed in front of them with a loud thump, Lex, the man inside the armor, scanned the entry... and the inside. "They've noticed us." the synthetic voice of Lex noted aloud, as he waited for Victor to come in.

Lex had requested aid from multiple Councilors of the Light... but it was only Lex, Pamela and Victor who would be handling the attack on the main entry. Any more resources, and friendly fire would be an issue.

It was quiet... except for the sound of metal as the mercenaries around the green and purple armor begin to get into a line formation only a few dozen feet outside the mine entry.

It wouldn't be for long.

The whole operation was a major marshalling of Light resources... and would mark the first time Pamela was contacted by the organization... and would see just what they commanded.

Doctor Doom has posed:
At the agreed upon time Victor von Doom has assembled his forces. A combination of Latverian infantrymen and light vehicles, many equipped with anti tank weaponry. There's only about a platoon in total.

Doom himself is at the center of the unit, looking them over briefly before his attention turns to the mystical circle inscribed on the ground beneath them. In order to avoid US authorities teleportation is used, Doom and his group appearing at the rendezvous.

As they manifest the group immediately moves to establish a perimeter, allowing Victor to communicate back to the other armored figure, "My men are ready."

Poison Ivy has posed:
Poison Ivy was certainly new to The Light, and to the whole operation as a whole. She was not really fond of machines, but she was certainly fond of bribes and it was useful to have a few allies to fall back on, especially lately. So when he requested back up, she arrived in her usual zest, upon the back of some weird overgrown plant like creature, complete with long thorny tendrils and large spiky thorns. She's really not sure what to expect though as she joins the group of assembled allies.

She peers up at the green and purple armour thoughtfully, not sure exactly who is behind it but they seem to be the leader of this operation perhaps? "I am here..." she drawls, waiting expectantly, "What would you have me do?"

Zach Daniels has posed:
Up in the sky, way up in the sky, ZD is soaring, the fallen angel watching the ground below him as he soars. Okay, see, there's something interesting down therre, and Zach pivots on a wing to descend and investigate. Not so much descend, as tuck his wings to his body and fall. Ah he'll snap his wings out in time. Don't you dare screw me over, Gravity....

That's the main thought as he plummets and snaps his wings out with an audible cracking sound like a tree falling, that sort of loud snapping sound. Fifteen feet of wingspan suddenly being snapped out tendss to do that...and worse, Zach droppped his mjuffin during the fall. No. Get back here breakfast muffin going at terminal velocity!

Lex Luthor has posed:
"They will be coming up, soon." Lex informs the two next to him. "Our work... is to delay them. Draw them out. We are the bait. Others will handle an infiltration." The powered armor brings up an arm and points to the entry, "Inside, dozens of robots are coming. They will be in range for anti-armor soon. Once we start firing inside, slow them as much as you possibly can." The armored individual moves out in front. There's an audible humm of power in the air as his chestpiece visibly begins to light up with power. Something is charging, by the looks of it.

"I don't know how many he will sacrifice. Judging by their movements, they may have an escape tunnel down there. The others may need to cut them off."

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doom glances towards Isley and grants her a nod of his head. It often pays to be polite. Then he replies to the other suit of armor, "They will be no match for our combined forces."

Victor moves to stand towards the front, armor almost humming with mystical power. His men level their weapons, ready to engage.

Poison Ivy has posed:
Poison Ivy frowns and nods, peering towards the mine. "Slow em down..Right." she pets her little plant friend, whispering something to it as it creaks and moves slowly beneath her, extending its thorny tendrils and crouching slightly, readying for whatever comes next.

She pauses only briefly to peer up at the sky at the winged creature and blinks slowly, "What in the blazes? Who are you, friend or foe?" she demands. Ivy has only met a few members of light. Could he be one of them or an accidental interloper?

Lex Luthor has posed:
A glance is spared to look up into the sky as the-is that an angel?

"We'll find out soon enough, that one isn't in the plan. Focus on your task." Lex barked to Pamela.

Then, the armors thrusters switch on, allowing the warsuit to hover slightly in the air just above, allowing a clear line of sight for everyone below. A moment later, a gigantic bean of purple energy lances out from the armored chestplate, directly into the tunnel.

"Fire everything, bury them."

The sounds of screeching and crashing metal can be heard, even from this distance, inside the tunnel. The armored suit seemed to be effective, at least.

Over his shoulder, Lex focuses on Zach briefly, his sensor suit scanning the newcomer even as the rest of the armor begins the battle.

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach gives the area a look and stays put, hovering as he looks around then hears a voice. "Not what but who" he says finally after a moment's pause and a feather or five detatching from his wings and he looks to Ivy, "I'll return the question...who are you all?" he asks.

Doctor Doom has posed:
When told to open fire Doom begins unleashing his armor's powerful blasts! Even as he shoots the vehicles he brought with him join in, using their weapons thermal optics to see better what they're shooting at. It's a lot of firepower. The Latverian troops open up with controlled, precise fire.

Poison Ivy has posed:
Poison Ivy glances to the armoured suit and nods briefly. Eyes narrow as she focuses on the tunnel, and while Ivy does not possess any sort of blasting weapons, she has other tricks up her sleeve. "Go!" she orders her giant pet plant, pointing at the tunnel. The plant seems to utter some sort of shriek of fury, unleashing a flurry of massive vines each about the thickness and strength of elephant trunks but far longer, each spiked in several hard and sharp thorns as it slams them into the tunnel like several battering rams that tear into the earth and slam into the rocks in an attempt to bring them down on those not already hit by energy beams.

Zach Daniels has posed:
Yikes! Zach scrambles to get out of the way of things, though he's now very much worried, and by scramble, straight up, which naturally, makes him stick out. After all how many fallen angels go vertical at a moment's notice anyhow....well aside from this one, mind. Unslinging his crossbow....yes, crossbow, Zach is ready to fight if anyone or anything gets too close. Which, hopefully it won't but on the off chance...and God help anyone who shoots his wings.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Even that much firepower isn't enough to stop the robots as they begin to climb out. One. Three. five... Metal turns into slagged dust on the floor as the sheer amount of firepower overwhelms the armor of them, but they just keep coming. More get caught up in the vines of Pamela and get slowed, making easy targets for Doctor Doom and the other armored figure as they begin to rapidly fire their energy bolts in.

The soldiers are landing solid hits, but their weapons just seem to be slowing them down. The powered armor figures are the only ones who seem to be very effective against the robots as they come.

Still, the sound is deafening. This racket will no doubt be heard by someone soon.

Then, the robots begin to fire back, a machine-gun built into their right shoulder slot begins to fire from each robot, drowning out the metal tide burrowing their limbs into the tunnel side.

Bullets fly in all directions -fairly accurately, even- as the counterattack begins. Bullets bounce from the warsuit... and no doubt Victor will have a few, along with his troops, some even heading in Zach's direction. The mercenaries finally bring up their guns... and fire a dozen grenades into the tunnel. A massive EMP wave floods out of it.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Bullets bounce off of Doom's armor, but he doesn't relent in his attack. Some of his men are not so lucky, however. Those with shoulder fired rockets bring them into play.

"Keep up the fire!" Commands Victor, barking over the sounds of violence.

Poison Ivy has posed:
Poison Ivy curses under her breath, doing her best to stay out of friendly fire as she aims more vines at the ground, plunging her vines deep beneath the approaching robots tearing up the earth at their feet. She even tries to grab some robots and throw them at other robots, using them against each other.

But of course there is return fire and Ivy brings some of her vines to wrap around her, forming a protective shield although this will briefly slow down her offense as she repositions herself, trying to stay on the side lines with all the firepower being flung around.

winged being is largely ignored at the moment. He seems more confused than threatening and she just clicks her tongue, focusing on the task at hand.

Zach Daniels has posed:
Indeed Zach is just confused and looks down to the fight, watching it as he circles, and his finger slips, thunk, crossbow bolt fired. Great, he's in it now, he (albeit accidentally) shot his crossbow into the fight...

Lex Luthor has posed:
More energy bolts fly... then, Lex abruptly stops. "I need to handle something. Keep this up." The warsuit suddenly tilts forward, one hand coming up as an green energy blade projects from the right gauntlet as he flies right into the tunnel. One. Four, Six robots fall as the suit slashes out, with a good number of the machineguns firing at the advancing suit. Over the Lights main channel, Victor can hear Lex, "Carver has an escape tunnel. The others are busy with the cyborgs. I need to intercept him. Push in when you can."

Zach, meanwhile, suddenly has one of the robots looking his way briefly, some sort of device pops out and aims for him.

Victor isn't having too much trouble with the firepower... though some Latverians start to take serious hits. Pamela, however, can feel the barrage slowly but surely start to tear her plant shield apart.

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach squeaks a little as he just decies fine, robot, you wanna tangle?

Alright, fine, feet out, wings out and....yes, this may be a bad idea but Zach's going to do this. The 'this' involves a Mach 1 dive at the robot that's got the device aimed at himm. See, Mach 1, boots, momentum and angelic healing....this may not go well for Zach, let alone the robot...

Doctor Doom has posed:
Energy blasts firing from Doom's gauntlets, the Latverian monarch responds over his coins system, "Very well." To the people around him he calls out, "Prepare to advance. Use my armor as cover if you must." A glance is given towards the angel as he dives into the fray.

Poison Ivy has posed:
Poison Ivy narrows her eyes, commanding her plant pet to back off a bit, give her some breathing room as it repositions itself, using a nearby boulder for ground cover as it recuperates. Unfortunately some of those bullets are really tearing up her plant and it shrieks in pain, slowing down a bit.

"Dammit.." she snarls, crouching lower behind the boulder, taking a breather as she lets her plant recuperate. "Hang in there, my sweet...Just a little longer." after a short break, she charges from behind the boulder again, this time her plant grabbing up chunks of large rocks from the ground and hurling them out at the steady stream of robot while other tendrils use large chunks of stone and earth as alternating shields. let's hope her plant can hold out just a bit longer..

Lex Luthor has posed:
Diving into the tunnel makes the fight much more tight knit. It also has the benefit of forcing the robots to attack Doctor Doom. The firepower fired at him intensifies... and suddenly, he can see grenades being fired at him.

The robots are using the close quarters to suicide bomb Doctor Doom and his people, Pamela can feel the explosions from where she is, easily.

Zach, meanwhile... dives right into a distracted robot as it goes for Doctor Doom.

Luckily for him, the robot is distracted. Unluckily for him, Zach basically rams right into what amounts to an unmovable metal wall, with all the bruising and potential bone crunching that entails.

On the plus side, Zach did manage to send it flying.

The firepower from the tunnel is lessening. Slightly.

Zach Daniels has posed:
Thud. Ow. Great, this wass a bad, bad idea....as Zach struggles to fly. Okay, he's all the colors bruises shouldn't ever be, and he's pretty sure slamming into that robot broke all the bones he needs....ah he can still fly, kinda, gritting his teeth and swearing profusely he doesn't care about the launched robot. Nah, he can still fly, fine, and he's going to...

Mostly since going at Mach 1 into that robot, that....kinda sorta hurt like hell. Great, he grinds and rattles when he flies, good job Zach. At least he's still sort of with it as he's cutting the sort of flight path that's saved for drunk spiders on ice skates. Least he's still flying upwards and vaguely towards home. Kind of. That battle can go on without him, hey if he punted that robot and helped one group or the other, he's more important things to worry about. Like breathing hurting, and his shoulders being at funny angles. And he lost his hat, too..

Doctor Doom has posed:
"You are an admirable distraction, my feathered comrade," Doom comments to the flying fellow before using his armour's ability to control magnetism in an attempt to send the grenades down the tunnel and away from friendly forces.

The robots that get close to Victor will find out that it's a bad idea as an ionic beam emerges from the back of his hand. With the power of his armor backing it the sorcerer- scientist will attempt to slice through his opposition. To the plant controlling woman he yells, "Keep your flora and yourself behind me! Try to prevent the enemy from flanking us! My men will hold the entrance!"

Poison Ivy has posed:
Poison Ivy yelps, covering her eyes as her plant does it's best to shield her from the suicide bombing robots. Unfortunately it takes heavy damage as it plunges deeper into the tunnels and screeches in pain as chunks of it get torn up. In fury it grabs at the walls of the tunnel, plunging tendrils into the ground again and attempts to pull down more rocks on as many robots as it can, trying to at least bury some of them with what strength it has left.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Suddenly, there's a loud grumbling from the mountain, and dust kicks up. Pebbles drop from the ceiling.

Then, suddenly, the robots all around them stop firing... and turn back and begin to go at alarmingly speed back into the tunnel.

Another minor earthquake rocks the mountain.

"Victor, the fools are trying to self-destruct the complex, you need to get down here and stop it. Carver is being stubborn, I can't do it myself."

As Lex speaks, most of the weapons have stopped. They've committed to their retreat.

The Ionic blade actually finds a bit of resistance to the robots, but they slice apart quick enough. Now that they're retreating, it's like fish in a barrel.

Poison Ivy has posed:
Poison Ivy does her best to hold the lines but her plant takes a direct hit that causes it to screech in pain and she's not about to sacrifice her baby. "Enough, they're retreating, let us do the same." and she steers her plant in the opposite direction, soon vanishing from sight.

Doctor Doom has posed:
"It will be accomplished," Doom tells Lex as he proceeds onward with greater speed, utilizing the flight system in his armor. The fleeing robots will be fired upon by Victor's blasts as he hurries to reach the depths of the complex.

Lex Luthor has posed:
More earthquakes, more rocking. Whatever is going on down there, the fighting seems to be escalating to potential bring down the mountain.... or at least the complex.

"We have some of the Peacekeepers back, but the rest are helping with the destruction. I'm going to have to-" There's a moment of silence for a couple seconds; the connection died from the depth, "-I'm going to be dealing with Carver for a while. I need the data here. Secure the complex for the Council."

As Victor heads for the back, he finds a massive cargo elevator, partially destroyed by the fighting. All around him, the robots begin to pour into it....

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doom attempts to expedite his travel through the facility by dropping the elevator. He directs his firepower to the struts, cables and brakes holding it up. Hopefully it'll drop all of the robots with it and allow him to follow them down so that he can address the self destruct situation.

Lex Luthor has posed:
That's one way to do it.

Dropping the elevator makes it easy to fly down. It also eliminates the need to deal with the robots.

Down below... is chaos, and fire.

Several smaller scale battles could be seen in the gigantic chamber in front of Victor. Four Riot-Class Peacekeepers were in a dogfight with Killer Frost. Meanwhile, Black Adam was finishing up with disabling one of the Hunter-Classes across the chamber, flying off to continue elsewhere.

"Giant control room to your right as you enter, can't miss it."

Victor can easily see the section Lex is talking about; the massive glass pane that was one there being consumed in fire. Meanwhile, all around Victor, robots that survived the elevator crash begin to fire wildly into the complex, destroying the structure and equipment.

Doctor Doom has posed:
The violence occurring down there does not disturb Doom in there slightest. He's too focused on the objective. As he blasts the survivors of the elevator the armored monarch flies towards the entrance to the control room.

As he gets close here begins an incantation, calling out in strange tongues and moving his hands in gestures quite occult. Should his spell be successfully cast it will fill the control room with a chilling, icy storm.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Nothing stops the control from from filling with the icy storm. Victor is now alone within this section of the complex, with the battle raging outside.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Luthor is not the only master of the scientific in the battle. Victor quickly begins working with the technology at hand to attempt to stop the self destruct protocol. Perhaps even take command of the remaining enemies.

Lex Luthor has posed:
The control hub is easy enough to find for one of Victor's expertise. As he begins his work, a Hunter-Class cyborg Peacekeeper flies over to Victor's position, brings up both arms, both of them obvious weapon barrels.

Both of them lighting up, obviously moments from firing some sort of energy weapon.

in the distance, another LOUD bang can be heard, with the earthquake felt much more keenly.

"He just blocked me with a massive blast door, and is coming your way. I need at least thirty seconds to cut this open, even with the blade. I think he knows what you're doing." Lex informs Victor.

Victor, at a glance, can tell he has five minutes before the SD goes off.

Doctor Doom has posed:
As he's about to be blasted Victor reinforces his armour's shields, then attempts to blast his attacker before the attack goes off! Regardless of his success, Doom knows he's likely to have to inflict further damage on the cyborg. So he charges, bringing up his ionic blade again, not wanting to waste time in combat when he's got to figure out how to stop the destruction of the facility.

Lex Luthor has posed:
When Victor blasts the Peacekeeper, something peculiar happens; it dodges out of the way, just in time... and a shimmering effect absorbs most of the blow. In return, the energy blast from those arms gives Victor a *MASSIVE* jolt.

Victor can easily see why these cyborgs required the full attention of the Council from that one blast. His shields held, but anyone else taking a direct blast from that weapon would have been turned into a smoking crater...

And that was just one of these cyborgs. There are TWENTY of them down here.

As Victor charges, the Peacekeeper transforms it's arms into a set of dual hammers, seeming intent on getting into an aerial melee fight with Doctor Doom.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Using a combination of his blade and concussion blasts, Doom attempts to overwhelm his adversary. Or not, maybe he's just driving it back, if possible, in an attempt to buy himself some time to employ his magic.

Lex Luthor has posed:
As Victor continues his assault, the cyborg doesn't show any sign of slowing down, though Doctor Doom is more than a match for it. It's the raw power involved that makes it difficult to handle.

In terms of talent and skill... Doctor Doom has the cyborg brought down in about a minute, and he can see the control circuit on the back, forcing the firmware of the chassis to obey Carver.

He has a chance to give the person within the frame their mind back.

Doctor Doom has posed:
And he'll take it, moving to remove the control circuit. Should he disable it or remove it he'll cast a spell to try to repair the cyborg, "Defend me! Get you'r revenge on your oppressor!" Hopefully that will buy him time to fix things in the control room.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Silent throughout the fight, the cyborg, grunts. A synthetic voice sounds, "he's coming, and wants to destroy all the evidence. I'm not as good at controlling this thing without the assist, but I'll try." The person behind the chassis speaks, before it slowly moves back into the air. "He has ten more left. I lost my link to the tactical net when you broke the control net."

The chamber outside starts to come apart as massive explosions lance through the area as the robot factories start to come apart. More energy weapon discharges can be seen in the distance as another Light operative of some form ran through the area, a Peacekeeper on their trail.

The Control Hub was wide open. For now.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Time to get to work! Doom hurries to gain control of the system while he's got the time, limited though it may be.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Truthfully, it's not that complicated a system. LexCorp technology, this was not. The countdown can't be stopped in time without the password, but Victor can easily estimate that cutting the wires to the two main detonation blocks will at least keep them from sending the signal to detonate.

Outside the room, Doctor Doom can see his new 'friend' suddenly get hit by a massive barrage of energy weapon fire, and slump to the ground. The barrage was enough to burn through the shields, it seems.

Then, a Peacekeeper twice as large as the Hunter-Class he just saw die flies to hover just outside the door, "You people are like cockroaches, you just don't know when to die, do you?" Comes a humanoid baritone voice, "You can't stop it. What's the Latverian dictator doing here anyway?" The cyborg looks back into the massive chamber, "I had no idea there was such an alliance."

Doctor Doom has posed:
"Dictator? I am the rightful monarch of Latveria!" Doom may have begun to get angry. After cutting the wires he moves to the room's exit, shakes his head at the larger cyborg and tells it, "You have no idea how large a mistake you have made." This time Doom does an incantation and moves his hands in a disconcerting motion, "Goodbye." Pointing his gauntlets at the cyborg he unleashes a powerful blast of magical energy, pouring forth mystical power directly towards the center of his target. There's not much finesse to the spell, just sheer potency.

Lex Luthor has posed:
The Peacekeeper was prepared for the attack... but truth be told, Doctor Doom is far faster about it than he ever expected him to be. The spell grazes the Peacekeeper chassis, and there's a satisfying screech of metal as chunks of the lower chest scorch, the shimmering blinking out as the shield around the body fades.

"Holy shit, even with the tweaks you still got through!"

The cyborg starts to fly away, "I'm not getting scrapped here!"

Doctor Doom has posed:
Oh, but if Doom has his way that cyborg will become scrap soon enough. The sorcerer utilizes his armors control over magnetic forces, hoping to stop his enemy's escape buy applying close to thirty tons of force in an attempt to hold him in place. Raising his gauntlet again he unleashes concussive blasts at his hopefully helpless foe, "Your tweaks are no match for my abilties, cyborg. Know that you are nothing compared to Doom."

Lex Luthor has posed:
The cyborg, surprisingly, moves even the force applied. There's a bit of protest audibly from the chassis, but somehow, Henry is managing to *MOVE* while Victor is trying to control him. "I don't think so, bucko!"

If nothing else, it tells Victor that Lex really did design these things to be pretty effective weapons. It's just too bad the prototypes have proven unstable to control.

As the Peacekeeper flies away, he's going in a straight line with a bit of zig-zagging, negating the need to be as mobile.

It means he's flying away at a far faster pace than Victor might intend... but it also means he's very easy to target.

As the concussion bolts rock his chassis, that shimmering effect absorbs a couple hits, occasionally landing against the armor; he's taking damage for sure, but unless Victor chases him down to finish the job, he'll probably manage to climb up the elevator, even without thrusters.

Then, there are the Peacekeepers all coming up to swarm towards Victor... though the others of the Light seem to be keeping the majority busy, out of sight.

Doctor Doom has posed:
It doesn't do to let his enemy escape. No, not at all. Victor steps out of the control room and armor takes off into the air, yet more blasts flying towards the cyborg.

Just needing to keep the machine man busy until Luthor arrives, Doom keeps up his fire, trying to subdue or destroy the cyborg before he can flee. Though not the most talented flyer, Doom's systems provide a good deal of speed when he wants them to.

Lex Luthor has posed:
There's a series of minor explosions as rockets are launched from around a corner into a series of Carver-class Peacekeepers that explode at the impact. The source of those rockets is clear; a shoulder mounted pod on the warsuit Lex wears. As he flies into sight, he twists, more rockets from another rack in the pod launch into another set of Carver-class robots. Those explode as well.

"Hello, Henry." The synthetic voice coldly offers in greeting, "We need to have a talk." As Lex flies directly at Henry, the Peacekeeper stops to bring up both arms to fire at the warsuit.

Victor has a clear opening to target the cyborg's back.

Doctor Doom has posed:
This is as good a chance as any to try to take the cyborg out of the battle. Victor unleashes a barrage of concussive force at the exposed back of the metallic menace, hoping to render him inoperable as quickly as possible, not wanting to completely destroy him in case Luthor has plans still.

"You're outmatched. Your forces are failing you. There is nothing you can do except... Surrender or die!"

Lex Luthor has posed:
The concussive force is more than enough to finally bring down that shield as Victor fires into him; he's taken quite a few hits, and now he's a stationary target under Victor's magnetic grip. He doesn't stand a chance.

There's no scream from Henry. The cyborg has apparently turned off his pain receptors. Probably a good thing. Victor's blasts would HURT if he did.

Still, he does manage to get off a beam of energy from those arms, and Lex brings up his gauntlet shield projector: The device soaks the force easily... and Lex takes the opportunity to speed up.

Victor is barely missed as Lex rams Henry directly into the wall next to Victor, and kept pinned by the gauntlet shield as the other hand comes down and around igniting the plasma blade as he moves to cut off the right leg of Carver, "I'm not going back! I'm NOT!" Henry screams in his synthetic voice, obviously panicked.

"Should have thought about that before you crossed Luthor, boy." Victor can guess that Lex is keeping up the pretense of him not being the pilot of the suit. "He is very displeased that you managed to get a mole to hack his prototypes. Your gambit has failed."

That leg is slowly, but surely, being removed.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Normally, Doom would be content to watch to see Luthor's next moves, but there may still be other threats present. It's important to take care of any potential reinforcements before they arrive to disturb the proceedings. So he lets out his senses, mystical and technological, trying to see if there are any remaining threats headed their way. Better to be proactive about these things, after all.

Lex Luthor has posed:
There are indeed Peacekeepers still around, with a couple of the Carver-Class ones trying to catch up with Victor, even. On top of that, the original Peacekeepers are flying back, trying to get move to rescue Henry, but the rest of the Light are taking advantage of the opportunity and disabling them in short order.

As Victor assesses, the right leg is cut off, with the left being tended to now. Lex can be heard over the Light commlink. There's no voice from the warsuit, it's his direct mental voice, "All that's left is the stragglers and you bringing your people out. I'm sure I don't need to remind you to remove the evidence." Lex watches Henry as he frantically tries to escape the grip, but Lex has a firm hold on the Peacekeeper; he's not going anywhere, "I have no doubt some listening post has reported this battle."

Doctor Doom has posed:
There's a quick reply from Doom over the same channel, "I will continue to handle the remaining cyborgs before extraction. Your man's armor is impressive."

And Doom moves to do just as he said he would, try to take out those enemies that are heading his way. He'll use a combination of his magnetic control and his concussion blasts in an attempt to disable Henry's control over them where possible, or blast off limbs where not.

Lex Luthor has posed:
It doesn't take too long to disable or destroy the rest. The distraction up top with the robots kept the majority of the force occupied, and most of the original models were surprised by the infiltration. Lex has proven himself a capable strategist with this fight.

The Carver-Class robots are quickly dispatched as those remaining try to swarm Victor; most of them were already damage in some way after all, and Victor is superior to their abilities. They are quite easily seen as knock offs.

Two of the Hunter-Class Peacekeeper also try to get past Victor, having escape their previous pursuers. These models actually give Victor a bit of a challenge; they are designed to be the elite of the Peacekeeper program, and it's easy to see why.

They, too, are damaged though, and Victor can just about manage to slow them down enough that Concussion blasts whittle them down as they continue to fly towards him.

Soon enough, the chamber is quiet.

"We're done here. I'll send an update on the situation to the network once this is done. We need to scatter and disappear. Keeping this many around will draw unwanted attention." Lex finally gets the left leg off. Henry is completely disabled, his flight systems ruined.

Then, Victor gets a private comm from Lex, "I can handle this from here. These Peacekeepers are known to be kidnapped employees of mine. I can simply turn this complex over to authorities if I don't claim it for our purposes. Either way, I am legally clear of responsibility here once I delete the Peacekeepers database."

Doctor Doom has posed:
"Excellent, Luthor," Victor replies over the private channel. "I shall leave the remainder in your capable hands and collect my men."

The Latverian monarch flies off to rejoin the men and vehicles he'd brought with him. Once there he assembles them closely together, casualties and all, and begins his spellcasting. It doesn't take long before he's prepared a teleportation ritual for return to Doomstadt. "Well done, men," he tells his people in Latverian. "You have done your nation proud today."
