Ruth Aldine (757) has posed:
The day went long. Ruth went wandering. Well, mostly because there was really nothing to do at the safehouse but eat, sleep and drink, one of which Ruth herself tried to avoid. Sleeping. It always happened at the safehouse; whenever she fell asleep, dreams of the fire in the sky, though this time it wasn't a boy with white eyes, but a girl. This time the skin wasn't tan, it was pale. Some things change, but the only thing that really stayed the same was the fire in the sky..

The latest nap she had sent her wandering. Tripping up upon a flap of her open toed shoe, she stumbles just enough to catch herself with her arms wrapped around her middle. She quietly exchanges pleasantries in her own way with another passer by, her chin lowering as she tries her best to avoid the crowded subway station by touch..

..and then someone brushes past her..

..and then it was midnight.

The station itself was empty, who knows how long Ruth had been standing there. But her feet hurt, her stomach was empty, her body was shivering as she hugged herself even tighter. It must have been one of those extended visions, something she couldn't pull herself out of, yet it was something that she couldn't remember.

Finding a nearby bench, she settles upon it, her shoulders slumping as she leans her head back, her dark hair dancing near close to the ground, well.. the bits that weren't matted together of course.

"Hello. Hi. I was walking. Sorry. Won't do it again.." She quietly mutters.

Cable has posed:
Cable arrives walking down the tunnel, no train scheduled for a time. He was able to teleport in unnoticed. He's heavily armed, as always, a literal rocket launcher sideslung across his back, a bandolier of grenades across his chest.

He climbs up onto the platform with a soft grunt - he's older even than he looks, with plenty of mileage to boot, and his body isn't as immune as he sometimes pretend. There are strains in his joints, his back. He hurts, often.

"I was wise to put a tracker on you," he says.

Ruth Aldine (757) has posed:
The shuffling of an old mans feet catches her attention; the hobo sliding down upon the tracks and continuing his way, then soon disappearing from view just moments before she hears the grunts and clicks that makes up Cable's person. His words, paid her no nevermind, but there was a little smile there which soon fades almost immediately.

"Hello. Hi. I was walking. Sorry. Won't do it again." She says, but doesn't bother standing. She remains there in her place, still a little bit chilled from the nights air and lack of food. "Left shoe." Did she know that the tracker was there? "Sorry."

Cable has posed:
Cable nods, "I suppose I should be grateful you kept your shoes on. I would not be surprised to find you here barefoot," he says. He glances up at the hobo and gives a cursory scan with his mind. The man didn't appear to be a threat, but Cable hadn't survived this long by trusting appearances.

"Were you guided here by some vision? Or did you simply desire the freedom to pursue your own path? I want to help you and provide resources, but I will not keep you caged if you prefer to go free," he says. In truth, were circumstances more dire, he wouldn't entirely be opposed to collaring her for her own protection. But it hadn't come to that.

Ruth Aldine (757) has posed:
"Hurts my feet." Ruth shuffles just a little, making a bit of room upon the bench. It was roomy as it was, being as skinny as she was, she didn't take up much. But the gesture was there even if he decided to sit. His questions cause her shoulder to lift in a shrug, her hands soon shifting into her pockets, pulling out a wad of cash which was soon littered onto the ground. She almost wanted to reach and pick it up, but a forward lean would have caused her to topple over.

"Was hungry. Sorry. Wanted food. Sorry. Came here, and.. woke here?" She glances around with a frown. "Don't remember. Woke standing, and now it's dark." Her hand lifts to scratch idly at the back of her neck, her head twisting left and right. "Train."

Cable has posed:
Cable flicks his eye down to see the light of the train flaring deep in the tunnel. He puts a hand on her shoulder and draws her back from the edge of the platform. He doesn't think she'll jump but he isn't entirely sure that nothing's going on either. Life around Ruth is a web of strange portents and unexpected events.

"If you want food, I can easily provide some. I'm sorry I was away for longer than I expected," he pauses. "Perhaps I should take you by the mansion. Xavier's lot can perhaps help you more than I," he admits. "Although I might still borrow you on an occasion."

Ruth Aldine (757) has posed:
"No. Sorry." Ruth mutters about the school. "Been there. Too happy. They don't see. They don't see. It's all going to end soon.." She shivers at the thought, then slowly rises from the bench. As the train itself stops, there was a consideration to continue on with her path. But she doesn't. Instead, she sticks to a better avenue of thinking.

"Take for food? Please?"

Cable has posed:
Cable nods, "I can understand that. Today, they had a...bouncy castle," he says. "Playing like children, even the grown ones. It can be maddening, at times. I understand the desire - many have suffered, they seek to escape, to pretend they have already found utopia."

"I pity them, and yet I have no time for even that. Time is too short. Already the fuse has begun to burn," he sighs. "And they don't realize they're doused in gasoline."
