Sweat Til You Bleed
Date of Scene: 08 June 2020
Location: Athletics Area, The Triskelion
Synopsis: Skye needs to keep busy. After a chat, looking for her mother seems like a good way to do so.
Cast of Characters: Black Widow (Romanoff), Quake

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
With a certain someone having gone missing, Natasha was doing her best to keep Skye occupied. Perhaps Skye was not appreciative of these efforts because it was involving a lot of hours in the athletics area. Workouts, training, sparring.

There had been a lot of sweat involved. During the sparring, there had been blood. She was growing in her skills and, hopefully, keeping her mind occupied.

It was after one such workout that they were sitting on a bench, both still overheated from the exertion. Natasha had a bottle of water she was drinking from, a towel wrapped around her neck. She was dressed in shorts and a sports bra with a pair of trainers on her feet. Her hair was pulled up in a ponytail.

Quake has posed:
Natasha had been a godsend. Where Skye would normally space on her laptop, everything about her normal life was, well, not. Every time she had tried, Skye couldn't. It was just too soon. Skye was grateful for anything out of the rooms.

"Not bad," Skye pressed her lips into a scowl. "Two out of three?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"You're already going to have a shiner if you don't get something on that eye. I think we're good for today," Natasha says with a soft laugh, shaking her head. "I would think after the five kilometer run and the sparring, you'd be tired."

She took the towel and wiped at her face before taking another swig of water. "Got any good cases they have you on?"

Quake has posed:
A soft, ironic chuckle, "What, you are turning down for dual shiners?" She picks up a towel, and dabs here and here. "You know, I have zero clue what I have been working on. Something about bank assets logging, only their counterfeit accounts." She shrugs. "I am supposed to take it easy, otherwise don't let Skye on her own. You?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Last thing I was dealing with involved arms smuggling. We finished rounding them up last week. Wasn't really much to it for my part, admittedly. Kind of disappointing. Just a matter of sneaking in with a tech-mask in place, getting the info." She sets the towel down on the bench next to her then finishes off her bottle of water. It is tossed in the nearby recycling bin for just that purpose. "Two points."

Quake has posed:
"If you had asked, I could swear was actually in house, and just for me." The towel is draped across a knee. "It's like their waiting for something." A brow as quirked.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Waiting for something?" Natasha asks curiously. She considers that a moment then gives a half shrug. "Not sure what you mean by that. Although aroud here, it does seem like we often have stuff we find out well after the fact."

Quake has posed:
"Fury," Skye continues, "He's waiting until, well, until I snap out of it.. Good god, was Clint this miserable when he thought I was walked out on him?" Skye tossed her towel onto the laundry. "I admit, I probably could say enough is enough. The cats will be happy. Just, what do I do next?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Work. Focus. Eventually it fades. Trust me. I'm an expert on this," Natasha says with a hint of a smirk, although there isn't a lot of humor in her tone. More self deprecating.

"He was, actually. For the record. But eventually you have to make a choice and move forward. Drown yourself in other things. It's why I'm trying to keep you busy."

Quake has posed:
A lopsided grin, more on the lopsided, then on than grin, "I figured. It took me a little to figure it out, and, well, you must have a clue, not too many friends are about. Okay, if *I* decide to move along, what's now? Other than work, and focus?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Once you start focusing on other things, burying yourself, you may find something else to catch your interest." Natasha gives another of those little shrugs.

"Might be work that does. Might be some hobby. Might be learning a new weapon. Might be another person in time."

Quake has posed:
"Huh, that not likely," Skye says. "Actually, I was thinking. Maybe there isn't another way, maybe I just have to get on with things. Which brings me to, could you help me with mother? It was going to me and Clint. I figure that as normal as I can get. "

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Your mother?" Natasha echoes. She pulls out two more bottles of water from a small cooler on the floor by the bench, offering one to Skye. "You mentioned something about her before but we didn't get very far in it."

She opens her bottle with a twist of the cap. "What do you know about her so far?"

Quake has posed:
"Well, not a whole bunch. It's all on my laptop. I didn't have any oomph when he left. I figure you might find something w.. I might have missed."

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Send me what info you have. I'll see what sort of info I can dig up," Natasha offers as she gets to her feet, tossing the towel over her shoulder. "I have quite a lot of contacts I can touch base with. Go from there. For now, I'm thinking a shower. I'll get started on that as soon as you get me all your data."

Quake has posed:
A real grin tosses around the face, "Great, I will to. Thanks. A shower sounds wonderful."
