Send Me An Angel
Date of Scene: 08 June 2020
Location: Apartment 214, Hugo Building
Synopsis: The New Junior Young Titan Justice League team comes together! (Yeah, we have no idea what we are going to name ourselves yet. Sue me.)
Cast of Characters: Willow Rosenberg, Supergirl, Zach Daniels, SpyderByte

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Tea, check. Plate of cookies (chocolate chip!), check. Things moved aroundâ?¦ check? Well, most of it neatly, check. And now she waited.

Supergirl has posed:
Having gotten a message from Willow, Supergirl was there at the appointed place and time. Of course, she didn't think it would be prudent to go wandering up the stairs in the building but thankfully there was another way. Most people didn't look up. It just wasn't a natural thing to do, unless something fell near them. Certainly it happened sometimes but not on a regular basis.

Thus, she floated down from the sky to the right window and knocked politely. She hovered there, looking like any other person might standing in a hall waiting for admittance. Well, anyone else that was in a full costume with a red cape and matching boots.

Zach Daniels has posed:
For once, Zach's not flying. Instead he's on the street on his bike, enjoying the ride. He does though look up, mostly to see hello, is it going to rain? Because wet feathers are no fun, even as he pulls his bike into the parking lot and begins climbing off, hanging his helmet on the handlebars with a stretch, the Hugo Building...yeah that's a thing and that's here. Thankfully, he's got his phone and has brought muffins and donuts, too so...

So he's done a good thing? Maybe. Texting Willow he lets her know he's coming and has snacks too, and stares up at the building before, yes, putting one wing in front of the other and heading inside, carefully. Yeah he's got his crossbow and sword too. Just in case, or if he gets bored...

He can alwayyys pop out for more snacks, but....

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Just as she suspected! One of two guests arrives, not from the hallway, but the window. "Right on time!" Willow gives a little hug to Kara, and ushers her in. Zach though, doesn't use the expected way in! Thankfully, he announces his arrival. She tells the young man at the door to send him on up. Once here, she lets him. There. All here.

Once in and comfortable she introduces her guests. "Zach, this is my friend Supergirl; and this is the one I was talking about, Zach."

Zach Daniels has posed:
"Indeed I am" Zach nods holding up the bag, "I brought more snacks and looks pleased with his haul, leaning on the doorframe as he ruffles a wing looking thoughtful for a moment surveying the room, quirking a smile, enjoying this already.
"Alright, where's your friend that has a lot of bravado?" Zach asks with a knowing grin and a wave to Supergirl.

"Hi, I've heard a lot about you. Yes I'm Zach" he says and dips his head a little, more to find a spot o put his brought snacks too. Somehow he's thinking this may go on for a long while.

Supergirl has posed:
Seeing Willow, her friend gets a hug as Supergirl comes to a landing inside the room. When there is a knock on the door, she glances that direction but remains close to the window. A peek through the door (thank you x-ray vision!) allows her to see who it is. Otherwise, she could have bailed back out the window if it was someone else. After all, Willow doesn't need her neighbor asking for a cup of sugar to know Supergirl is visiting. And unless the neighbor has wings, this must be the one she was asked to come meet.

"Zach. It's nice to meet you." She gives a smile and a nod for her greeting but remaining where she is standing in the room. "I brought SpyderByte along as well." She pulls out her phone, turning the screen so they can see it. Which that screen seems to be showing she's been playing Animal Crossing. "Figure the more brains, the more likely we can help out."

SpyderByte has posed:
As the phone's screen turns on to reveal Animal Crossing, there's what appears to be a small island with a gothic looking character staring back at the screen. The digital form of Spyder Byte shows to be a long white teenager with a black trench coat, black hair and a dog collar. He is sitting on a lawn chair with a computer, and a fishing pole near by stuck in the water. Behind him is a rather large and spacious mansion of a vampire Victorian style. 'Tom' is also tied to a tree. Technically you can't do that to an NPC, but the mutant hacker has a way with codes.

<< Hello! >> The bubble message comes across the screen. Bloop! << My name is Spyder Byte. Nice to meet you! >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow blinks. "Uhm, well we don't have any treats for you, but you're welcome to stay. Anybody else?" She ushers in and locks the door, "Just in case! But yes, I talked to each one of you, about you. I figured we should meet?"

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach nods and doesn't bother keeping his wings outstretched, instead letting them drop to the floor and trail there. Hey to be fair he does clean up after himself with regard to feathers and shedding. Zach listens and nods, listening to it all, while eyeing a cookie out the corner of his eye and nods, looking over to Willow, "You said it's a group of misfits when we were talking, yes?" he offers, looking around for a spot to take a seat and relax, well at least, in theory.

Supergirl has posed:
"Willow, can we mirror my screen to your tv so it's easier for Spyder to keep up? Hard for all of us to read the screen when it's this small." Supergirl wiggles her phone then motions to the tv in the room. Hopefully its a smart tv so her app can be mirrored. She does keep her phone turned around so Spyder can keep up with activities in the room.

"Misfits?" Supergirl blinks at that description. She looks at Willow then over at Zach, the tiniest of frowns on her face. "We aren't misfits. We're heroes who are starting out and need to get more training before we are ready to fill the big boots, like those of the Justice League members."

She considers a moment then goes with the explanation. "When Superman died, I found myself trying to do what he does. And I learned in the process of those many months, I'm not ready yet. Not to be as good as him. Not to be able to do as much as him while balancing a life. I need to learn more. To practice. I'm already a hero, I get all that. But I need to hone my skills to get better. It's the entire basis of the group I'm getting together. For us to become more so that someday, we are the ones that are out there like the Justice League and the Avengers, against world level threats."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I can do it. >>

The TV blinks on as he catches the network, sending signals throughout the webs of technology. Soon, her phone is now mirrored to show Spyder Byte's cozy gothic island.

His little character hops off the lawn chair and wanders about the beach, giving a wave outwards. << I set up an air tight security channel as well so that it can't be intercepted on your network. So, as of right now, you are invisible. Ta da! >>

Plucking the fishing pole out of the water, he gives it a few wiggles, then lands a red fish that he carries over to a basket and deposits it for '500' points.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow blushed furiously, after all, Zach spills her words. "I didn't quite mean like that." Sigh. "That. We have to find ourselves, that's really what I meant." The television is a simple thing to rig up. And reminds herself, speak plainly to Zach. Oi!

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach nods to Supergirl and listens. Okay so what Willow said got lost a bit in translationb ut yes, speaking simply to him is a good idea.

"So this group" Zach offers, reaching for a cookie, with a look to Willow like 'am I allowed one?', "So this group is for us to learn to be heroes?" he asks, "Go on, you have my interest" Zach adds with a look around. He's doing good not even reaching for a granola bar yet.

Supergirl has posed:
"Thanks, Spyder," Supergirl says when he mentions having set up a secure channel for them.

She moves to sit on a chair, pulling her cape around her then smoothing it behind so she can settle in comfortably. "Yes and no. We already are heroes. Some of us. At least three people in this room I know are heroes already. Admittedly, I don't know you yet, Zach. Though Willow seems to think you would be a good fit. I'll let everyone else tell their own stories but I think I'm the one who has gotten the most press so won't both with too much detail. Supergirl, cousin to Superman. Kryptonian. Part of the Justice League and Alpha Flight. This group I'm trying to put together are just more the newer heroes, the ones that need to get more time under our belts. We are not less than the others, we just maybe aren't quite ready for the big leagues. Yet. At least that's how I feel about myself. I don't know about the rest of you."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I am not a hero. >>

Spyder Byte has now taken out a baseball bat and he is whacking poor Tom Nook tied up to a tree with it in the leg. Each time he hits the stupid looking racoon, more money spills out in loud cartoony chimes. Whack! Whack! Whack! So, this may be a cheat code. But Tom deserves it. He's a slum lord. No tears will be shed for him.

<< But I'm willing to help you guys become better heroes with intelligence and data. I have to keep my identity a secret since I am most likely wanted in several countries. I don't want any of it to be tied back to you. There is no diplomatic immunity for some of the things I pulled, lives I have destroyed and secrets uncovered. Bad people do not like me. >>

WHACK WHACK WHACK. Obviously neither does Tom.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Oh, he's interested! Good. Maybe he and Supergirl will get down to business. Folding up on the couch, in bare feet, she takes a cookie. "Well, I don't.." Supergirl is looked at. "Well, maybe a little bit? I just read up on the Akrolips, and you know.."

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach nods looking to Kara then Willow, "Now where do we start with this?" he asks and munches on a cookie too with a smile, looking over at them all then to the TV, "Hey to you too" he offers watching them all in turn then looks to Kara, "I like the idea" he says with a nod, wrapping hiis wings around himself, "But I feel like I'd be a good fit, I've not got a good record in teams but I want to change that" he says simply. Hey if they wanna know he'll tell them, why not explain about who he is, or, rather, what he is.

"I want to help people and learn to be a hero, that sounds like, well, that souns like something that's worth going for"

Supergirl has posed:
Here she goes again.

"Spyder, you are a hero. You take down bad people, no matter the challenges involved. Willow, you have earned your spot with the Justice League having helped safe Superman when he was kidnapped by the forces of Darkseid to Apokolips. Your magic helped keep the door open and you found him for us."

She looks to the tv and then Willow. "If the two of you don't think you are heroes, you need to look up the definition again. Or better, just listen to me. You think I don't know by this point?" She grins a little at that.

Then she looks back at Zach. "Well, before I say yes to anything. Who are you? I know your name and that Willow thinks you would be a good fit but I kind of need to know more about you. This is your chance to fill in Spyder and myself with your story, since Willow apparently already knows it."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< If I am called a hero, it puts more pressure on me. I'd rather just be your team's tamagotchi. That's not a bad name actually. You can call me Tamagotchi! >>

THe little gothic cartoon character strikes a superhero pose, arms on hips, staring upwards at the sky. The trench coat even gives a 'ripple' in the wind which looks like squiggles on the screen.

<< Don't forget to feed me though. >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Yes ma'am." She ducks her head, "Sorry, when I'm here, I forget."

Willow listens to Jeremy. A frown creases her brow, "You know, we could help, after all, we are heroes. Just so you know." And lets it go. After all, he knows what they can do.

Zach Daniels has posed:
"My story?" Zach asks and nods stretching his legs out. "Alright. I was an angel at one point, the whole fight evil thing, do this, do this, kill this, do that thing. I got left behind and had to make a life for myself, I've spent the last 500 years on my own so I'm not up to speed on pop culture or anything, I decided to give this civilization thing a go five years ago, before that, I was out in the middle of nowhere, just me, a lot of trees and animals" Zach says with a nod. "They say I'm a fallen angel. I disagree" Zach says quietly, watching Kara intently, as if worried she'll reject his ideas or, or, something. Hey he's been rejected one by the holy forces, and that was not a good day for him.

So he's opening up and being honest. "It's a little hard for me to usually work with others but I'm slowly learning to let go and trust others. Like Willow for instance" he nods, flicking the eddge of a wing as if gesturing with a hand.

Supergirl has posed:
"Fallen angels are ones that fall from grace though. Not ones that get left behind." Supergirl considers him a long moment then looks over to the screen at Spyd--wait. Tamagotchi. Whatever that is. She's going to have to look up that word later.

Back to the rest of the gathering. "Not been a follower of the religions, having my own from my home. But the idea of angels isn't foreign. Would be nice to have a power for good along with us. You're willing to go put yourself in harm's way to help others? Even at great cost to yourself? That's really what it takes."

She grins. "I saw a movie once. Main character was a fireman. Referred to it as a crazy person's job since you run into danger instead of away from it. It made a lot of sense but it really sums up the whole hero thing. If you are willing to fight the good fight, then it works for me."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< The things I deal with can't be resolved by punching them or with magic. What I do is I expose those who work in the shadows of political and economical domains. I believe in freedom of information. Most of my work is done exposing corrupted governments who try to harm mutants. You can probably Google most of my work. Senators and Governors have fallen to my byte. >>

The little Goth character is now dancing to what appears to be a Michael Jackson song. Beat It. The TV is playing the song in a digital 8-bit manner. The cartoon character sure has some moves as he moon walks across his island.

<< But don't worry about my work. It's just something to do on the weekends. You also don't want cartels or political gangsters banging on your door. They do that with chainsaws and machine guns. I am just here to help with your work. >>

Zach Daniels has posed:
Looking over them all, Zach grins, "I am, Willow knows I can fight, I kicked vampire butt to save Buffy and her friend, who then decided I was evil and tried to kill me, so....yes, I'm willing to fly at the problem at Mach 1 and kick itt or fly around and report back, as well.^R
Zach gives Kara a knowing smile, "Correct, but in their eyes I fell because I didn't return, so lost my grace. Not that I believe it but I can be more than just a fast moving punch or kick, I can listen to people as well and try to understand them"

Supergirl has posed:
"Then we give it a try. If Willow trusts you, I trust you. Same for Spyder as well. He has started working on some other contacts for us to see about. A newer hero in Gotham and an established one I have met a couple of times," Supergirl explains.

"Now comes the hard part. All the details. We don't really have a base or anything unless of of you knows of someplace we can use. Really don't even have a name. I've been using Junior Justice League in my head. Not sure if you all might have ideas on all this."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Yeah," Willow says. "Actually I don't have anything that proves it. Just something about him. That and he wanted to be good. I don't know that he would care one way or the other if he didn't some good to him."

SpyderByte has posed:
<< The Beacon and Red Robin both told me that they will join our cause once they speak with you. I helped guide them the other night. Was successful. >>

Once the cartoon character stops dancing, he heads back over to his chair and settles in.

<< Junior Justice League sounds like we belong at the kid's table during Thanksgiving. We could go with something way cooler. >>

There is a Doot-Da-Doo! Noise on the screen.

<< Introducing .. The New Titans! (Way better than Teen Titans) >>

Zach Daniels has posed:
"I like Junior Justice league, but it makes me think of a bunch of teenage heroes coming home and having to do homework before fighting crime" Zach muses looking too amused by that. "New Titans just sounds like a theater production, really" Zach adds listening to all this, he's finaly, finaly gone forr a granola bar.Because he's hungrry and finished off his cookie.

"If you trust me then that's a good starting point" Zach nods to Supergirl. "As for a base? I can fly over the area and make notes" he offers, a hey, I'll come up with ideas and see what you all think.

Supergirl has posed:
"While I like the name Titans, it's in use," Supergirl says with another little shrug. "They are just 'the' Titans but still. Being New Titans implies we are part of their group, which we most certainly are not."

She thinks a moment. "We are mostly younger heroes, though not teens. Young Justice? Or just something totally different? Anything from myth or pop culture or something we could use that fits us?"

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Young Justice sounds really cool. >>

That message pops up on the screen as Spyder Byte plays the Final Fantasy success music. It's a classic. Everyone should know it.

<< To be honest, I don't care what we call ourselves, as long as we are awesome at what we do. >>

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach's the odd one out being older than dirt but, hey's got the mindset of a young person so....hey. Plus he'ss liking this group.

"Young justice makes it sound like we're kids though" he points out. "Junior Justice League works for me, we're like the littler version of the Justice League right?" he adds with an amused glint in his eye. "Besides, that makes me think someday we'll be the all grown up JL, yeah" he adds ruffling his wings with a laugh, a genuine, musical laugh. Oh he's enjoying this too much already.

Supergirl has posed:
"Well whoever we are. Whatever we end up calling ourselves. We seem to have a plan." Supergirl pauses and shakes her head. "Let me try that again. We're a little too shy of any details to be a plan."

She holds up a hand triumphantly. "We have an outline! Maybe." Her hand drops. "Rao help us. We have an idea and we'll have to go from there, right?"
