Cast of Characters: Sparrowhawk, Red Robin

Sparrowhawk has posed:
It was a miserable, drizzley day in Gotham, which was keeping some of the criminal element buried in their dens and giving a blessedly quiet afternoon, free from classes, Phoebe hadn't hit up Tim for training or hanging out -- which was odd, given she had no classes that afternoon.

So, the brownstone that had the nice, little black mailbox with 'Beacon' written on it in a man's script, long since faded, was somewhat quiet. There was music coming from the kitchen and dining room, as was Caroline's habit when she worked, grading end-of-year papers for her six graders to the tune of Alice Cooper's 'School's Out for Summer'.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake had the day off work, and he is more often to do the patrolling thing at night, so he has came over to see Phoebe. He comes walking up to the house knocking on the door softly. He has brought a bag with him, with a new book for Caroline and another gift for Phoebe.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Comiiiing!" Caroline pipes up, and when she comes to the door she is in Full On Frazzle mode, brown hair with graying streaks wrapped in a messy bun held in place by at least four different pens, wearing an AC/DC T-shirt that was probably older than Tim and holey-er than Notre Dame, and leggings with galaxies swirled accross one leg and George Washington crossing the Delaware on the other.

"OH! Tim! Come on in!" she greets him, familiar enough by now that it's not 'young Mr. Drake' and she's not at all bothered that he saw her in her super dress-downs.

"How's finals going for you guys? Or did you already stop? With all your study sessions it's hard to really get much out of Phoebe some days!" she laughs.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake smiles and says "So far, we have all done pretty well with the tests we have taken, but there are still some we have to work on." He will tell her, not truely fibbing even. He will pull the book he bought her from the bag, and offers it to her "Saw this and thought you would like it." He tells her.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Oh! A book? Well, that is the most agreeable gift for teachers -- little secret, we're all kind of nerdy." she jokes, and then looks stern. "Except gym teachers. Terrifying forces of nature." she adds, and then looks over the book.

"Phoebe's down in the basement -- ah, if you give her the chance to know you're here, she'll probably come right up."

The Beacon Basement, unlike Beacon's Bedroom, is not a place that has been ventured.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and says "Can I head on down there to see her?" He will ask. He is a bit curious what she would be doing in the basement. He grins at mom and says "I figure most gym teachers were drill sergeants in previous lives." He jokes a bit with her.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"More like slave masters or cattle drivers! Or Judas Goats." Caroline replies ruefully, and then motions to the door that was marked 'Closet'. "Her secret passage way. Go ahead down."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake smiles and thanks Caroline, before heading down the stairs. He is tempted to sneak down but he goes at normal mode, which for him maybe a bit sneaky still. He takes his time to look around at the room as he comes down to it.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
The stairs are pretty worn, a lot of up-and-down movement. There is light down here, and 'School's Out' is eclipsed by a punk-pop cover of some pop song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG7IKNlTCZw&list=PLzXzdA8WE5MxmkWO4FkQDQQwTji4U2mU1&index=6

And downstairs is quite a sight: Whereas there weren't many pictures of Charles Beacon above, here must have been his 'man cave'. NEwspaper clippings are pinned to the wall about the suspiciousness of the fire, which after almost a year of investigation was labeled 'arson', but had no culprit. A charred fireman's helmet hung on a peg.

Here, there were a couple of weapons on the wall. Fireman's axes. Ratan training weapons. A mat was rolled out. There was a heavy punching bag suspended in the corner, and the aged soundsystem was hooked up to an ancient laptop.

    Everything here was old.

There's an old couch, an ancient afgan blanket stretched over the back. A box of charred wood and materials, covered with dust.

And Phoebe was doing her own training, running through kata in something that wasn't quite aikido, but not quite Tim's fighting style. She has her eyes closed, working with the beat of the music, leaning her body back, arching herself as the staff she was using spins against her chest and shoulder. She was wearing an athetlic top, and training hakama, blending cultures. Insence is burning on a little stand nearby.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will lean against the wall studying her, and the room for a bit. He hmms and does make mental note on when the fires in the clippings were, and will have to do some more indepth checking once he is back at the computers. He watches her for a bit and says "Interesting pacing you have there hon." Loud enough to be heard over the music.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"--WHOWA--" comes a startled sound, and the ratan practice staff clips Beacon's chin and cheek. She straightens up, grasping it, turning and regarding the interloper with surprise and then -- "TIM?"

She reaches out with the staff, and taps the space bar, halting the music a moment as she straightens up, looking horribly embarrassed. And Tim's seen her in worse compromising positions before.

"Ah, hi? I wasn't expecting you? ... oh god did you text me and I missed it? I"m so sorry!"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake smiles over to her and says "I thought I would surprise you." He says as he steps forward. his hand moving to her cheek to check on her. "You ok?" He will ask her. He does offer her the bag and if she is not serious hurt, he will lean in to kiss her softly "Your mom said you were down here so I thought I would come find ya."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Of course I'm okay. A little bump like that won't put me outta commission -- you know that." she replies, but she does kiss him back, giving a small smile.

"Well, welcome to my inner sanctum. My mom hasn't even been down here in five years." she states, and gives a small, embarrassed laugh as she closes the laptop, and then goes to sit down on the couch.

"Sorry, I now we should be training or patrol, but I just... needed a moment with my old man."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks to her, and moves to sit down beside her "I can understand that hon." He will take her hand in his and says "I understand hon, there is times, I talk to my mom and dad." He tells her. "So, this was his room? He looks around "Looks like he was a bit of an investigator besides a fireman.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"This was his man-cave. He'd come down here to sleep when he was on night watches." she replies quietly, and Phoebe rubs the back of her head a moment.

"... those are mine, actually. I... used to think that the fire was set to get him, on purpose. I mean, I was a kid. I thought someone actively tried to take him away." she states quietly, looking to the macabre momento on the wall -- the half melted helmet.

"... anything to try and find out why he was killed. Turns out, firemen get killed all the time on the job." she states.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods his head a bit and gives her hand a squeeze, and says "I can understand hon, it is how we will deal with things. At times there is connections, but not as often as we think there is." He pulls her closer and says "So your lady cave now huh?"

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"... a lady-cave is something *completely* different, Tim!" Phoebe laughs, burying her face against Tim's shoulder as she gives a huff. "... so yeah. I come down here to train on my own, or to investigate fires, or to plan out what I want to do for an evening. Stashed my 'Beacon' stuff here."

She gives a frown. "... that is admittedly kind of lame."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake smiles and says "Well, I like that other type, but I think this is your beacon basement." He will tell her with a smile. He hugs her close to him, and says "Do you want to start your investigation training with arson investigations?"

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"... oh god. The Beacon Basement. It's already called this." Phoebe laughs into Tim's shoulder now, just giggling against him, before drawing back and wiping at her eyes.

"I... don't think I'm ready for that. Maybe just basic stuff... where did you start? Or were you already investigating things before He started training you?"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake smiles and says "Sorta investigating things on own." He looks to her and says "I sorta got this gig by figuring out who the first Batman and Robin were." He smiles and says "Each of the Robins have had similiar training, but were, I am more detective than the others, the first is a better acrobat than I am.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"And what about the others? You said there were a couple of Robins before you." Phoebe asks, drawing one leg up, and then she winces. "Or... is that considered a faux pas to ask? I'm not sure what Super Hero ettiquite there is to follow."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake says, "Well I can tell ya a bit but I won't tell ya who they really are at least not till I have talked to them about it. There has been 4 of us that have had the position for a length of time. The seond one died and came back to life. He is more the brash and angry one. The kid has a bit of angry too, but he was trained to be an assassin before he came here to join us."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"... Tim, how is it that I have a magical healing power and I'm *still* the most normal person you appear to hang out with?" Phoebe asks incredulously.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake chuckles, and says "Should I tell you that my best friends are Superboy, and Impulse?" he grins at her and says "I have some odd friends yea." He grins a bit more.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
    And Phoebe punches Tim's shoulder.

"How will I ever be as cool as Tim Drake. I live in my mom's attic and still can't decide on what I want to be when I grow up!"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks at her, and says "Maybe you can just be you and be ten times cooler than Tim Drake." He says as he leans in and kisses her.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Pfft. Hardly. I'm a girl with healing powers who's never left Gotham and is dipping a toe into superheroism. You're Red Robin, Third of the title Robin, bringing honor to the cloak, chosen by the Batman, friend to Superboy and Impulse. You're pretty much cooler than I'll ever be, dork." she smiles, and leans her head against him, her arms wrapped around him.

"... thank you for not thinking it's weird that I burn things in the basement."
