Synopsis: Drake comes to visit Alex in the Legion medbay.
Cast of Characters: Zero-G, Slipstream

Zero-G has posed:
Alex is stuck in the med bay, and for the last few hours, has been consciousness though instructed not to leave his bed. It's not a pleasant experience in the slightest, but he's been giving the strongest painkillers 31st-century medicine can afford and the poison? It was child's play constructing the proper anti-venom to combat it.

Still, his body is riddled with little bites, some of which will no doubt scar, and is attached to several small tubes that monitor his condition. The young man is shirtless and scrolling through a tablet, uncomfortable and slightly drugged-out.

Slipstream has posed:
As soon as combat was over and Wonder Woman was saved, Drake found himself teleported back on the ship. There is still adrenaline coursing through his veins and rage in his eyes. With a blast of blue light, he comes in through the medical bay. "Alex!" He calls out, his emotions heightened as he zips from one bed to the other until he finds his friend.

"H-hey! You're awake." There is a tremble in his voice as he steps closer to the bed, holding his hands out in front of him. His eyes are wide and nervous. "Are you okay? Gotta love thirty-first century drugs, huh?"

Zero-G has posed:
Alex looks up and sets the tablet down next to him. "Thanks to you, yeah," He offers with a weak smile. "I read the after-action report." Is said in a way of explaining. "I...thank you. I shouldn't have been so...well, honestly, careless. You did good, though. Are you alright?"

He sits up, licking his dry lips, and grabbing the glass of water on his bedside. "I heard you almost got hurt." He takes a sip and watches Drake even as he sets it down again.

Slipstream has posed:
"It wasn't your fault. We were all hypnotized by that siren." Drake says as he pulls up a chair to sit next to him, straddling it and dropping his arms across the top of the chair-back. "I just feel like I could have been faster, or something.. I don't know.. I was just so scared." He says as his voice drops a bit.

"I'm fine though, didn't get hurt.. I don't remember getting hurt. All I saw was red soon as you teleported out. I saw red and then.." He gives his hands a squeeze, staring down at them. They're broken and torn, red and raw. "Oh." He trails off. "I just.. " He gives a shake of his head, emotion filling his eyes. "I killed them all."

Zero-G has posed:
"By them, you mean spiders," Alex watches for a moment longer than sighs, reaching out (and wincing) to place a hand on Drake's shoulder. "Those things...they aren't worth beating yourself up about. They would've tried to kill us, and I don't think they even had an 'instinct to live' or anything like that. Just pure malice."

He squeezes slightly, then leans back. "It looks like you may have overexerted yourself...should I have Nurse Brainy prepare another medical bed." He says, with a dry hint to his voice. "I'm here now. It's okay to be scared, but I'm okay."

Slipstream has posed:
"I'm not beating myself over it for killing them. I did what I had to do." Drake says as he chews on his bottom lip. "I was just scared for you. I thought you were going to die. You went down so fast and you were barely breathing. I thought maybe I'd be next if I didn't lose my shit like I did. You're so much more powerful than me. I just panicked and everything was a blur."

Giving a shake of his head, he lets out an amused scoff. "No, no. Brainy will try and probe me or something. At least he's always threatening to. Weirdo." Rising up, he heads over to one of the medicine cabinets and takes out some ointment that has worked in the past, rubbing it across his hands. "Ugh, these smell so bad."

Zero-G has posed:
"Good," Alex is glad to hear that Drake isn't kicking himself, and he smiles. "I'm...I'm not that much more powerful than anyone here. We all have our own talents, and in this case, all my power couldn't speed up my reaction time. Can't say the same thing for you?"

He looks up while Drake moves around. "He's not so bad. He didn't even make me take off my pants for treatment," He gives a small grin, rubbing his bare arms. "Maybe don't waste the medicine, buddy."

Slipstream has posed:
"Lucky you. He always makes me take off my pants, using whatever logic he imposes upon me, then laughs and takes my temp the normal way." Drake says with a smirk on his face.

"It's not a waste if he's gonna replicate some new stuff later." As his knuckles begin to knit together, he lets out a soft sigh of relief. "At least it feels better. Way easier than getting a shot." After putting the tube back away, he wrinkles his nose at the smell. "So how long you gotta be holed up in here for?"

Zero-G has posed:
That sounds all kinds of inappropriate, but Drake is grinning, so Alex will set potential malpractice aside for now. "At least a few days. Something about making sure there isn't any venom left in my system and..." He gestures to his chest and shoulders. "Lots of little bites. I'm definitely going to need to heal up, soo."

He lifts the tablet on his bed and shakes it a little. "Getting some 31st-century reading done. They seem to have better tactics than my ass."

Slipstream has posed:
"I'd be reading comic books or something." Drake laughs as he gives him a nudge on the shoulder. "If you want me to snag you a laptop or something and load it up with video games I can do that. Do I need to tell your family about this?" He asks as he tilts his head. "Or at least Julie? That way no one is freaking out you know what I mean?"

Zero-G has posed:
"I already texted them, but if you want to go visit in person...I'm sure it would help to see a familiar face, yanno? Text messages can be so vague and unclear," Alex shrugs a shoulder and tilts his head. "It would be apperciated, yeah...and no thanks on the video games. Whenever I mess up, I like to try to think of things that could've gone better."

"Not that I mind the company," He clarifies. "Maybe you can even help."

Slipstream has posed:
"I mean, I /am/ a video game champion after all. Not to brag. I can tutor you in Overwatch." Drake grins at him wryly. "You know, we can just holo-call your family. They got these devices where it's like a video conference but it's in 3D. So they can see you like you're in the room and vice versa if you wanna do that. I can snag one real fast."

He gives a long stretch of his body, cracking a few noisy joints in his spine. "That could make them feel a lot better than a text message or a visit from me."

Zero-G has posed:
"Seeing me laid out in bed, like this," Alex looks cynical, and he shakes his head. There's a limit to how open he is with letting his parents in on the superhero side of his life. "I'll call them later. They can hear my voice, and I won't have to hear the fifteenth lecture about how dangerous being a hero is."

Slipstream has posed:
"They can see both of us and I'll be your hypeman. I'll talk about how awesome you were and totally skip out the getting shit on by baby spiders thing." Drake grins at him. "Come on dude. They won't freak out. I'd give anything to be able to call my parents." He trails off, then clears his throat. "You know, seeing how I don't have any. But I'm sure if I did, they'd be worried and wanna talk to me."

Zero-G has posed:
Alex sighs and chuckles dryly. "Yeah, yeah. Alright. Find the machine, and we can give them a call. Help me into a shirt, though." He points over to an oversized white t-shirt that's over the back of another chair. "Then we can chat with them.

Slipstream has posed:
"You don't wanna show off those muscles of yours?" Drake teases as he hops over to snag the shirt, then lobs it on to him before he blurs out of the room. He is only gone for a minute or two before he blurs back with the device. "Ta da! This is it. The Holo-Phone three-thousand. Let's hope everyone is decent." He says teasingly as he plops it in Alex's lap.

"Just dial the number on the keypad. It automatically corrects itself for whatever planet you're dialing into. It's kinda neat. I prank called a planet in the Hexeon galaxy once. Had no clue what they were saying, but it was hilarious."

Zero-G has posed:
"And I bet they hadn't the faintest idea what you were saying, either," Alex retorts, dialing on the futuristic phone after getting his shirt on. "Okay..." He seems mildly nervous. He hasn't shown them the inside of a space ship in years, and that did not go well. Button pressed, a holographic image of his parents sitting in their living room, head bowed in worry.

    "Hi, mom. Dad."

"Alex!" The words that come next are a blur to Alex, maybe more manageable for someone like Drake, as question after question is aimed at them.

    "Oh boy..." Alex smiles fondly.
