Dazzler's Return Tour!
Date of Scene: 19 June 2020
Location: Frontyard - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Dazzler returns to the Mansion, meets an old friend and makes a new one.
Cast of Characters: Rage, Phoenix, Dazzler

Rage has posed:
It's early in the morning and the chill is coming off to be replaced with a slow crawling warmth. With graduation past and students moving out, or moving up, there has been a steady bout of activity at the school. There is a moving truck down the driveway with a pair of men carrying several boxes towards it from out the front door.

Monitoring the work is one Andrea Jackson. Popstar. Disney child. Girl next door. Activist. She's wearing a pair of slim jeans with several tears along the denim, along with a baggy NYU sweater that hangs off the shoulder. Her brown hair has a few streaks of blonde and red in it, and only a touch of makeup. As she pokes along her phone with her thumbs, she appears to be answering a few messages as she leans against the porch post.

There is a look of emotion upon her face. Nostalgia. She is already missing this place despite having moved out a few days ago back to her skyline condo. For the last two years, this was home.

Phoenix has posed:
Morning at Xavier's. It's no longer obscenely early, but for a lazy summer's day mid-morning is still early. It's relatively peaceful, though students can be heard making a ruckus in the back yard, which means it's a good excuse for Jean to be out getting a morning's stroll around the grounds to both stretch her legs and make sure everything is still in one piece. Around here, one can never be entirely sure.

She's got on a pair of low slung black pants with a simple violet t-shirt over it and her hands stuffed in the pockets of a school issue navy hoodie that looks like it's at least a decade old. It's likely thin enough at this point then that a temperate morning isn't going to be too hot. She comes round the end of the school, following well worn paths. Spying a familiar face at the door, Jean raises a hand in a distant wave as she heads for the front door.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison has been... away. Yeah, that's a good way to put it. She doesn't remember exactly how long it's been since she left the mansion and went on the road, because time has less meaning when you're on a bike. For the past few months her only companion was a pearl white Harley Road King.

But all good things have their time, and now it's time to go home.

Back to the Mansion.

The open, throaty roar of the big bike cuts through the morning's quiet as it turns into the driveway on Greymalkin Lane. The rider accelerates smoothly through the turns, savoring the last moments of wind and and freedom to pull right up in front of the mansion itself.

Dusty from all the miles and tanned from the sun, the rider's blonde hair is wind-whipped and mirrored aviator shades cover her eyes. Low-rise jeans tuck into knee boots, a worn leather jacket open over a bikini top. A far cry from Alison's usual stage presence, unless perhaps one notices the sparkly sequins on the bikini.

Alison kills the engine before slowly dismounting, and only then does the familiar smile return.

Rage has posed:
"Good morning, Miss Grey." Andrea says as she tucks her large phone into her back pocket. "So, this is it.. all of my stuff is officially out and you can give someone my room. Lucky them. I left a few Easter eggs in there. There's an amused grin upon her face as she gives a glance back to the man who's carrying her rather heavy box that says: Undies :) Written on it.

"It's all of my books. I'm waiting to see if he peeks." He doesn't! Well, that's good at least. The roar of the bike can be heard and as she glances over towards it, she peeks through the veil of her brown hair.

"Who's that?" She asks as she watches the approaching bike head through the gates. Her eyes give another squint, before her jaw slowly starts to fall. "... Holy shit, is that..."

Phoenix has posed:
"Good morning, Andrea." Jean says warmly to the starlet as she reaches the front porch, leaving space for the movers to get past her. She glances to the box in question and then back to Andrea with a quiet chuckle. "If someone can fill an entire moving box with unmentionables, they may need to reconsider their purchasing habits."

Jean turns her head towards the sounds of the approaching motorcycle. While it takes Andrea a moment to register who's on the approach, bright recognition is already dawning on the face of the Headmistress.

"Well this is not the visitor I was expecting today. Alison! Welcome back. Girl, it's been way, way too long."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler removes the mirrored glasses, the dust outline on her face looking remarkably similar to her trademark blue starbursts. Blue eyes sparkle and Alison smiles more broadly. Her strides are long and confident as she approaches Jean, walking right up to offer a dusty embrace.

"Good to be back, Jean." And that's when she turns towards Andrea, tilting her head. "Wait a sec... aren't you that rising pop star I've been hearing about?"

Rage has posed:
"... Yes." Andrea says as she stares at Allison, her eyes widening a bit more. "I'm Andrea Jackson. Just graduated last week, actually. Moving back to my condo in the city to start college at NYU."

Giving a glance to Jean, then back to Allison, she clears her throat as her cheeks flush. "Wow. Um.. you're Dazzler. The Dazzler. Like.. the reason why I even breathe, Dazzler. Oh my God, I'm losing my cool. Get it together girl."

Taking in a deep breath, she closes her eyes, holds it, then lets it out slowly. ".. Miss Grey, that's Dazzler." She says in a hushed whisper.

Phoenix has posed:
Dust doesn't get in the way of friendship, and there's no hesitation on Jean's part to accept the hug with a quiet but heartfelt, "Welcome home."

She steps back and turns to look towards Andrea and swallows down a chuckle at the new graduate's awe. "Yes, I know who she is." She slants a look aside towards Alison and says with a serene smile, "You may be her singular greatest idol ever."

She reaches out to give Andrea's shoulder a reassuring squeeze as she sinks down to sit on the edge of the stairs, giving the two some space to chat.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler laughs at that, stepping back and reaching out to wipe a fresh smudge from Jean's cheek. Turning towards Andrea, she corrects softly. "Actually it's okay to call me Alison, at least when I'm not wearing white spandex and roller skates."

Looking over Andrea more closely, now, she offers. "It's okay to breathe, too. In and out, y'know?" Another chuckle follows, amused but also flattered. And heartfelt. "We should sit down and talk sometime, Andrea. I've got a long list of mistakes that I can suggest you avoid."

Rage has posed:
"Oh, believe me. I've been there done that." Andrea says as she rubs the back of her neck. "Terrible relationship issues? Check. Went public as a mutant in a huge temper tantrum after they sandbagged you? Check. Shot to death and revived in the middle of a Starbucks? Check. Became an X-Man trainee? Check. Dealt with multiple personalities brought upon by a secondary mutation of my power and got it telepathically locked down? Check. Graduated high school cumma sum laude? Double check."

"I think I may be missing a drug addiction and a miscarriage but thank God for IUD's and a marine for a mother who told me she'd kill me if I did drugs. But, yes, I /really/ want to talk with you. Everything that I did .. the charity, the public announcement, my drive .. it's all because of how much I admire you and .. you know... other stuff .. but you're kinda the foundation of my origin story."

There's a soft laugh from the popstarlet as she rocks on her feet a bit, finding all that nervous energy bottled up inside. "Maybe we can do dinner. I can get us reservations at The Dove or maybe Pietros because I just love Italian, or .. wherever you want to go. Or we can just get corndogs. I don't care... I'm just rambling and super nervous now all of a sudden."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler's blue eyes sparkle as Andrea goes through her litany, and the pop star's expression becomes wistful. And empathetic. "Honey, after hearing your list I'm thinking you really could use a drink instead." she replies, with a soft smile. "But Italian sounds great to me."

Alison looks down at her attire, then laughs softly. "Right after a long soak and a shower. It's gonna take a couple of passes to get all the road dust off. But I'll be here, I promise, so you'll know where to reach me. What's your number? I'll shoot you a text real quick so you'll be on my list."

Rage has posed:
"Well, I'm a double vodka on the rocks kind of girl." Andrea admits as she clears her throat. "But, Italian sounds amazing. I'll call ahead and ensure that my table is free for us. It'll be private."

Taking her phone out of her pocket, she brings up her contact and says, "I can zap it your way when you're ready." She gives her phone number out, bouncing a bit on her ankles. "I'll be here most of the day since I'm moving my stuff out, my address is on the contact as well if you want to visit. My boyfriend Jay lives with me. He's Mister Guthrie's younger brother. Red head with wings. He plays the guitar. Really cute."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler reaches into an inside pocket of the leather jacket, pulling out a phone that's covered with sparkles. Tapping in Andrea's number, she shoots a text over. And when Andrea's contact info hits, the ring-tone is a Dazzler song intro and a flash of lights.

"Thanks, Andrea." Her smile becomes wry, then. "One of the Guthrie's...?" Blue eyes sparkle again, but that's where she leaves it. "Alrightie, let's figure out a date soon, then. Say, tomorrow? I need to get outta these clothes and maybe find my skates again."

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey sits on the front steps, her chin cupped in a hand with her elbow on her knee. "Never fails. We get rid of one Guthrie and another gets ready to come in, but I do love our mutant Weasleys. School wouldn't be the same without em."

"You two should go compare notes sometime. You'd be a better shopping partner than me, Ali."

She gestures towards the front door, "Oh! Your room is the same as you left it. Let me know if there's anything you need restocked or swapped out and I'll get it sorted."

Rage has posed:
"Tomorrow is cool." Andrea says as she saves the contact with a grin. "I'm so excited." She says as she gives a bit of a wiggle of pent up energy.

"Yeah, you guys are getting Melody, their younger sister who can fly. So, three graduates and two to go I think. They got another who can use electricity. Jeb, I think."

Glancing over towards the movers, her brows raise as one of them actually does peek into the undies box, looking disappointed. Smirk.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler looks really pleased about the room, carefully plucking the shades from their perch on her hair as well. "Thanks, Jean. All I really need are my skates and my guitar." And yes, there are probably still spandex costumes in the closet, as well as other various combat outfits.

"Really nice meeting you finally, Andrea. And I'm looking forward to dinner tomorrow. If you two will excuse me, I'll see if I remember my way around." But before she turns towards the front steps, Ali gives Andrea a hug as well.
