Date of Scene: 22 June 2020
Location: Midtown, Manhattan
Synopsis: Nick and Duncan run into each other in Midtown
Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Duncan MacLeod

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As mid-afternoon sets in on a Sunday, most persons who partake in such things have already met their Weekly obligations and most have already switched over to their non-Sunday attire.

But, there are a few persons making their way over to Saint Patrick's for an afternoon mass while others are dressed up for the latest mid-afternoon summer concerts over at Radio City Music Hall. Others are taking advantage of the nice weather and heading over to Bryant Park.

As for Nick? Well, he's not visibly heading anywhere it seems but that's perhaps because he's not quite looking himself at the moment. From the general direction of Westchester, a purplish black bird glides across the skyline, seemingly coming in closer to the midtown area.

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
There is a certain affinity for the holy ground for obvious reasons. Duncan isn't necessarily a religious man, but spiritual sure. Currently he is walking through the area, likely to meet someone about buying or selling something while he is in New York. Nothing like a working vacation. A raven in New York is just interesting enough to get his attention. He raises a brow at the sight of it, but doesn't do much more.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Hey, just because a bird with a three foot wingspan just happens to fly in close to Midtown doesn't mean- Ok yes it is interesting. But for most of the local New Yorkers, nothing of note. The bird's flight adjusts, seemingly coming in for a landing. The visual of the avian creature blocked by one of the buildings forming a border for the alleyway.

As the bird lands upon the ground of the closed off alleyway, the beak points towards the opening to the street. Beady eyes assess the opening for a few moments before the form goes away, leaving Nick in the bird's place. Not wearing the usual street clothes, he is instead dressed in Sunday attire. Due to the heat, the sleeves of the dress shirt are rolled up while the band holding back what length of hair he's accumulated in the past few months allows for air to reach the back of his neck. He waits a few moments before he starts to head to the opening of the alleyway.

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
Duncan doesn't watch the bird too close. It's weird, but there is a lot weird in this city. He takes a seat on a bench and takes out his phone to check for messages. Once that is done he looks up again, just in time to see Nick walk out of an alley. He smirks a little and waves,"Nick."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick pauses at the opening of the alley, glancing around before the movement of Duncan's hand draws his attention over towards the immortal. Brows raise as he's confronted with the sight of someone who knows him but soon a smile forms on his face. He lifts up a hand and waves back. Hands shove into his pants pockets as he walks over calmly, "Hey Duncan. What brings you to Midtown? Sightseeing?"

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
"I get around." he admits,"When I am in the city I try to see as much as I can. Whether it is business or pleasure." He indicates the phone,"Today it is meeting a man about an old chess set that might be older than this country is."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick glances momentarily to the phone as Duncan gestures to it but soon looks back to the antiques dealer. "I think that statement would be more impressive if we were in China when you said that. But still, that's pretty old. Oldest thing I have is a book my mom bought from a library rummage sale."

He turns his head, glancing around at the busy street. "So, are you killing time before meeting the guy or is he supposed to meet you around here?"

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
He laughs softly,"If the set is the one I think it might be it is older than this country four times over." he comments lightly,"Come up to Vancouver some time and I'll help you find something older that might suit your style." he offers,"Nothing I have bought on this trip will do it."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Well, I'm not one for collecting antiques but, I am curious." Nick admits, giving a slight nod, "Alright, next time work has me up in the Vancouver area, I'll see about stopping by your store. Studio over there is a bit overdue on the calls for voice overs so it shouldn't be too long."

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
He indicates the seat next to him,"Have a seat if you aren't in a hurry." he offers and looks over the area again,"Quiet Sunday today. Is it usually like that around here?" He watches the surroundings, people watching,"You get up there and I'll have a place for you to stay so you don't have to rent a motel. Assuming you don't have a place of your own already."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick shrugs, moving over to take the seat beside Duncan, hands coming out of his pockets as he does so. As stated by the shop owner, it is indeed quiet. "I'll take the quiet." He admits, "Quiet days are rare in this city." He glances around, looking to people as the make their way to their respective locations, "And thanks for the offer. I'll be sure to make a call first. Could be a nice change of pace. Hotels and Motels tend to get boring when you use them a lot."

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
Duncan nods as you take a seat,"We could always use more quiet days everywhere." he agrees softly. He shrugs and tells you,"I'd be glad to put you for your stay. I understand the hotel and motel burn out. Not all of them are great in Vancouver either."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"That may be true but I will state for fairness that the last time I spent the night in the area, the place they set me up in was a pretty decent setup." Nick admits, "Liked it better than the trailers during the Yukon shoots. "Much appreciated on the offer."

He pauses, thinking to the trailer and then smirking, "Ok. You travel a lot. What was the worst place you've ever had to stay in?"

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
"You were fortunate." he comments thoughtfully. When you ask what the worst places he has seen he hmms softly,"When I was in China once the hotel had a restaurant, but I wasn't secure in the idea of eating what they cooked. One trip to Ireland ended up I was in a hotel that was a front for the IRA. Also not a good choice."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick blinks, "The IRA? Damn." He pauses, "Didn't stay in a HOTEL hotel much when I was in China. We used the sleeper train for most of that trip. And then there w-" He pauses. How does one explain accidentally dream traveling into a plane heading to a military base in Korea and having to sleep over? Yeah, you don't. "Well, there were some noisy neighbors on that trip, if you get my meaning."

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
"I have found it less than pleasant to sleep on trains in general." he admits,"As for the IRA, they are definately not dull. Ever. A few gunshots in the middle of the time kept it lively." He leans back against the bench again,"So you will be touring again."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"One way or another." Nick answers, giving a nod, "I'm taking my time with my next album so no guarantees to when I'll be doing anything large scale. Film schedule, weather delays, and some other events kind of slowed down the process." He glances back to Duncan, "I was actually filling in for another musician for that China tour I was referencing."

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
"Take your time for sure." he agrees,"I'm not much of a musician, that's my friend Joe, but I know it takes a good while to decide on what you want to play. The information on the card I gave you also has the Vancouver contact and address on it." Looking over the people again he admits,"I might miss this place a little bit when I am back in Vancouver. I've met a few intersting people."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Well, there's no saying you can't come back later." Nick points out, "And if you need a place to crash, well, a hotel would probably be more comfortable but we've got a sofa with a pretty good view." With a tilt of the head, he nods in the general direction of Claridge's and Central Park."

He cracks a smile, "The sofa is the most comfortable piece of furniture in the condo. Small battles have occurred over who gets to sleep on that when climbing ladders is out of the question."

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
A soft laugh and he shakes his head,"I have a boat. If I come back again soon I will bring it in and dock it to stay, but thank you for the offer." There is a pause as he looks at the phone that buzzes. Looking at the phone he nods,"My client has decided to change the meeting place so I need to meet him."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick nods, shifting to his feet. "Alright. Well, that sounds like my cue to head off then. Its well past time to change out of the church clothes anyways."

He slides a hand back into his pocket before giving the older man a slight nod. "Good seeing you around, Duncan. And thanks with the lessons."

Duncan MacLeod has posed:
He nods back to you and rises,"It was good to see you as well." he agrees and starts to go again,"You're welcome for the lessons. We could meet together for more if you want, though I think Miss Summers would train you well too."
