Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Phoenix

Wolverine has posed:
After stumbling out of the room where Creed was being held. Logan had found his way to the War Room. He sat quietly as he tried to understand what just happened. He doesn't remember anyone named Silver Fox, but he can feel there was something. "Damn it." he grumbles as he puts his head into his hands as he waits for someone to come yell at him. But something else is on his mind. "Who are you?" he mutters softly as he sits trying to gather his thoughts.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey had left Scott to make sure Creed was secure and to arrange for the mess to be cleaned up. She needed to make sure Logan was okay, because his well-being accounted significantly higher on her scale than the madman in the next room. She trails him into the War Room with both a dry and wet towel in hand. She slowly steps in through the door and looks to the pensive, unhappy looking Canadian. She walks over to him and settles into the seat next to him while setting down the towels on the table in front of him. "Figured you may want to wipe down your face, at least." And after a moment, she quietly addressed the white elephant's ghost in the room. "You remembered someone in there, didn't you?"

Wolverine has posed:
Looking up there is a look of confusion. "I'm not sure." Logan answers her as he takes the towel. "It's more like a feeling now. like tracking a scent on the wind." he says as he starts to wipe off the blood, which was drying. He does look at Jean as he cleans up. "I don't know how else to explain this." he starts before gazing to Jean. "I can remember how this person smelt, felt, and even tasted. But everything else is just a ghost." he looks down again.

Phoenix has posed:
"I've never known someone haunted by more ghosts than you." Jean says softly as she reaches out to rest a hand on his shoulder. "You know I'll help you however I can, Logan. Memories aren't my specialty, the Professor is a lot better at those more delicate operations than I am, but if you want I can help see about reconnecting some of those pieces. I know when you said Silver Fox, there was powerful emotions behind it. Whoever they were, they were someone important in your life. If you remember personal details like that, than the memories must be in there somewhere."

Wolverine has posed:
"Creed." he growls. "He knows." Logan adds as he scowls. "He said she was my first birthday present from him." he adds as he looks down trying to collect his thoughts. For as long as he can remember Creed has tortured him. "Which means he killed her in front of me." he says as his blue eyes lift up to Jean. "And if that's true. I don't think that is a memory I want back."

Phoenix has posed:
"He would never tell you, not to help you anyway. He just seems to enjoy making you miserable." Jean says with a sigh edged with a low, bitter anger. "I don't know what past you two had but I can absolutely understand your driving desire to suplex him through the floor. But, I made Scott a promise I would try to help 'fix' him, as much as I doubt there's much there to fix. The sooner he's out of here the better. I'm not very well motivated to help a man who torments my family and doesn't seem to really want help."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan doesn't take his eye off Jean till she starts to talk about fixing him. "The best way to fix him is the same way you treat a rabid dog. You put it down." he says with a sigh. "I understand you figured, it worked on Logan, but I never went over to Creeds ways. So there were parts you could save."

Phoenix has posed:
"You're not a project to me, Logan." Jean says to the man beside her. She's quiet for a moment as she leans forward to rest her forearms on the tabletop and looks to the dim reflections in the polished surface.

"The second we start treating one another like animals is the second we lose our humanity. Humanity is the only thing that keeps a mutant from becoming a monster." Her voice is low but the conviction behind the words are steel. She believes what she says, and it rings with something deep and personal. "I don't like him. I hate him. I despise every ounce of him for what he has done, but that doesn't mean I can take the choice from him to be different. It's the same choice you have made and the choice all of us make at some point and that's to try and be better. If after all of this he chooses the same path, then he accepts what we may need to do to protect everyone else."

Wolverine has posed:
The silence in the room grows to deafening status as Logan says nothing right away. He does continue to wipe the blood away before he finally says a word. "But he has no humanity to save." Logan says in almost a whisper. "He's doing this for a reason and it's not to get better." As he stands and places the towel on the table his eyes drift back to Jean. "You should be careful around him."

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey utters a disgusted and distasteful snort. "*If* he's let out of here, you can rest assured I plan to make sure he's followed and monitored. My attempting to help does not confer any degree of trust and he's wearing out even that very thin and tolerant welcome."

Her voice drops a few octaves as emotion darkened green eyes are turned up to him. "If he attempts to harm one more person under this roof than I will personally see him strung up from the hanger rafters and you can have at him like he was a pinata. I'll even sing Happy Birthday while you go for the candy."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan gives her a smirk hearing that. He knows Jean is as protective as he is of the school and the kids. Snd she'll go just as far as him. Sure, their styles differ, but they are of the same mind. "Jean, look, I'm sorry I went after him. But there is this primal draw for me to stop him no matter what it takes."

Phoenix has posed:
"Judging by what you've forgotten," Jean murmurs as her emotions and voice settle, "I think I understand why. I'll let you know how things go with him. I've not going to give this much longer. It's not safe to keep him here this long as it is." She pushes herself up from the table and rolls her shoulders to work out a growing knot of tension. "Go and rest, alright? I'm going to do the same. It's a nice night out. I think a drink on the patio, some fresh air, and a little stargazing is in order."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan agrees silently with her as he grabs the towels. His blue eyes stay on her this time. There are a handful of people at this school that understands him better than most. And Jean is above them all. Yes, he knows he pisses her off sometimes, but under it all there is an understanding. "Good night Jean." he says in his soft, gruff 'Jean voice' he slips into when around her. And with that, he leaves the War Room.

Phoenix has posed:
Catching his eye as he looks over, Jean gives the man a knowing grin. Understanding, yes, and never with an expectation to be anything more than who they are. That was enough, monsters in their closets and all. "Good night, Logan." And she'll follow a short time after him, the lights in the War Room falling dark once they're both gone.
