Bounty Research: Part 2
Date of Scene: 28 June 2020
Location: An abandoned warehouse
Synopsis: Fantomex gets recruited as an mercenary of the Light, getting his first assignment
Cast of Characters: Lex Luthor, Fantomex

Lex Luthor has posed:
If the man is in any way shocked when his sunglasses are taken, he doesn't show it. In fact, he shows a bit of annoyance as he takes a replacement set out of his suit and puts them on, giving Fantomex a green eyed glare briefly as he does so, "I'm sure they do. Most organizations do not have the leadership of ours." There's a pause, "You can keep the sunglasses if you like them, but don't take them again please."

The tablet remains on the table, unused, for now. "Just power on the tablet when you're ready."

Fantomex has posed:
Fantomex picks up the tablet, leaving the sunglasses in its place. Shaking his head briefly. Minions without a sense of humor or so difficult to startle are quite boring. And being bored is what brought him here.

Well, and the chances to make new contacts with interesting people in America. Just knowing Weapon Plus exists had earned the minion's master at least one minute from Fantomex not-too-valuable time. "You get a point for having spare sunglasses, monsieur. Fine, I will talk with your boss," he decides, powering up the tablet.

Lex Luthor has posed:
There's a moment as the system boots... and then, a blue background pops up, followed by a white silouette in the form of a human; an obvious video mask. "Hello, Fantomex. You may call me L1. I've heard quite a few things about you since I've begun to investigate you." The voice is masked as well. Synthetic, even.

Fantomex has posed:
"Of course you would," replies Fantomex, "I am both famous and supremely interesting," his mask hides his expression, but he is probably being ironic. Although he is somewhat famous in France. Or infamous.

He taps the tablet, then leaves it back on the desk. "And you are a bit too mysterious. I like to be able to judge my employers before accepting a contract. You are making it difficult."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I have my reasons for staying hidden. Is not knowing who you're working for a serious issue for you? You don't strike me as the robin hood type at first impression. Just bored." The voice continues.

Fantomex has posed:
"I don't have hard set rules," admits Fantomex. "It would be counterproductive in my line of work. I only have preferences, monsieur. Knowing who I work for is always better than not knowing. I draw my line at around the Red Skull, for instance."

He glances at the minion. "Hail Hydra? No, didn't think so. You are okay."

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I can assure you that HYDRA does not factor into our plans beyond how to keep them in check. I am L1, chief Councillor for the Light. We are an organization dedicated to bringing a more enlightened future to our planet." The voice answers. "This makes people like yourself very valuable, and we will compensate you accordingly should you decide to take our contracts."

Fantomex has posed:
"Oh, if it is for the future, then it is all good," Fantomex leans back, putting his boots on the minion's desk. "I have always wanted to join the Illuminati to fight superstition and government corruption. Tell me, what do you want me to steal in the name of a more enlightened future, monsieur Councillor?"

Lex Luthor has posed:
"HYDRA secrets would seem to be perfectly fitting your interests for a first assignment. Does that interest you?" The voice asks.

Fantomex has posed:
"Stealing for Hydra is usually amusing," replies Fantomex, looking at the ceiling. "Although they are quite bad at keeping secrets. Do you suspect they have any worth investigating? I suppose we can take a look and see which is their new and overly complicated plan for world domination. Or have they invented anything worth mentioning?"
