An Afternoon at the Watchtower
Date of Scene: 28 June 2020
Location: Monitor Room, Watchtower
Synopsis: Willow and Jeremy talk shop.. almost.
Cast of Characters: Willow Rosenberg, SpyderByte

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow wasn't usually on Watchtower duty on the weekends, but this time she was. Just as well, she has tons of work to do for school.. Unfortunately she had fallen down the rabbit hole of magic. Good thing the Watchtower was quiet around here tonight!

"I don't understand it, the cookies turn out alright. How come the potions don't." She scowls.

SpyderByte has posed:
There is a ping on Willow's phone from a mysterious green bubble with white text. Instead of a blinking cursor, there is a blinking spider.

<< Hey W. It's me, SB. What's up? Just checking in to see how you are doing. >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
First she has to find her phone! Second, has do *not* click on 'Do Not Disturb'. She almost does!

*blinks* This was odd. She answers..

Willow >> Hey! What.. this is SpyderByte, correct? How do I know this is him?

SpyderByte has posed:
<< It's me, Spydey. Of course it's me. No phone number assigned. Blinking spider cursor. What's up? >>

Jeremy is most likely in his room at home, sitting at the computer and blinking at his phone at times to send a message as he types on his keyboard.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Now she giggles.

Willow >> Doh. I should have thought this was you.

Willow >> I got work. Watching the Watchtower. Make sure no one breaks in? Pretty much. You?

Willow She snags a cookie from a plate.

Willow >> I'd give you one, but.. sorry.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< It's okay. I have Pringles. I'm currently elbow deep in the middle of the Iranian government, hijacked into a secret bunker in which they have multiple prisoners being tortured. I am recording everything and plan on uploading to a public domain for consumption in an attempt to trigger the CIA to action. So, you know, I'm bored. Did you figure out how to fix your phone? I left you instructions. >>

Jeremy glances back to the monitor, the glow fo the screen reflecting in his glasses.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow >> huh? Oh right. I kinda like it. Reminds me when I was visiting. People really looked at me as important. I'm having a bit of a problem. Which reminds me, I owe you an apology. I was treating the way I was treated. How about we make a plan? Just when we are unsure, we ask what the other one wants?

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Don't worry. I wasn't upset. I'm used to it. Everyone thinks I'm a weirdo because of my voice. I'm autistic and I just have trouble talking to people. This is just so much easier for me. >>

Jeremy's fingers drill along the keyboard as he begins to download the video feed he was working on, then uplaods it to a heavily encrypted folder.

<< I am just happy to be apart of a team. Supergirl is so nice. >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow munchies on the cookie, and checks the monitors.

Willow >> Well I felt bad. You don't have to accept everybody's thoughts, just to make it easier. But who am I speaking to? Everyone thinks I am the same girl who went to highschool. I'm not.

Willow >> See? I know a small bit of you. Sometimes, yeah, it's just simpler.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I wish life was simple, but it's not. At least you can pass as a normal girl. People look at me like a freak when I try and talk, and I can't show that I'm a mutant with my powers or else I get it ten times worse. The world isn't made for someone like me. >>

The message is quite gloomy.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow giggles. Then types..

Willow >> Are you kidding me? As long as I do not open my mouth I pass as a dowdy girl. Hello, didn't you look at me? OK, I wouldn't be looking as Kara was around. I speak googly gook to most people. D'aww. It's all right. I think Kara is beautiful too.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Kara is pretty much a next level super hero though. It's not fair to compare her. >> Jeremy chuckles after sending the message.

<< You looked fine to me. You're geek cute. >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow *blinks* and texts..

Willow >> Huh? You didn't say she was beautiful.

It just boogles the mind.

Willow >> You're the first didn't say she was beautiful. I mean, she is, but she's so much more than that. I bet she would love .. actually. Hrm.

She thinks.

Willow >> Maybe not. I don't know. I can know, and it makes me happy. So kinda look like the boy version of me. It's kinda good on you.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< She is beautiful, but I don't think she needs me to tell her that. She probably is told that all the time. But, she is the nicest person in my life. That's why I like her so much. She treats me like a normal person, not like a freak. >>

A dirty word for mutants. The F word. Freak. Jeremy has no problem calling himself that. He's a Goth who can't speak and talks to toasters. He is definitely not normal.

<< So, what are you watching at The Watch Tower? >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
That brings a smile to her lips.

Willow >> Yeah, she probably doesn't get other things. Probably they think they are so wonderful that they have thought her beautiful.

*Rolls her eyes*

Willow >> huh? A freak? You? Nah. We aren't the same as everyone else. I like who I am. Even so, sometimes it would be simpler.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I wish we had more superheroes like Supergirl. Just regular people wanting to make a difference and not worry about the cameras. >>

Jeremy taps away at his computer, giving a few more blinks towards his phone as he sends out the text messages to her.

<< So, what are you doing at the watch tower? Spying on any criminals? >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow >> Hey! What about me!

She laughs and pouts, though was a fake pout.

Willow >> You're one of those guys. Don't forget that.

He asks about her job, which really isn't so brave.

Willow >> I watch the monitors for things that aren't supposed to be there. That's really the job. Even Superman sits here and watches. Not terribly exciting. You?

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I'm already finished with my work tonight and now I'm watching anime. >>

Jeremy is definitely boring when he clocks out of the superhero world.

There is a ping on her computer as a window pops up, revealing Jeremy sitting on a bed in an unfurnished room. << Hope you don't mind me peeking in. I wanted to see what you were looking at. >>

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow >> uhn, you really shouldn't.

Although he was one of the who Kara gathered around her and called a team. Willow had a moment to think, and ultimately, decided to leave him.

Willow >> I'll have to write you up, but not as an enemy. Part of Supergirl's team.

There. Problem solved.

What he's getting a look at are blips of space, one after the other. And similar blips of earth, casually in the largest, and busy places.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Like a detention slip? >>

Jeremy gives a coy grin towards his camera. He's dressed in a thin white t-shirt and a pair of pajama pants that are checkered black and white with bunny slippers on his feet.

<< What would you put in the write up? Awkward nerd broke into our computers and hung out watching Netflix with me? >>
