Date of Scene: 30 June 2020
Location: Skye's Brownstone, Greenwich Village
Synopsis: Skye sets out to get SpyderByte. And see what he's about. Interesting..
Cast of Characters: Quake, SpyderByte

Quake has posed:
With Clint fully gone, Skye found herself on the Internet more often. She'd been studying this particular name, SpyderByte very closely.

"Ahhh.." She grinned. "Very interesting. Wonder if you would take a bite.."

She sets up her trap, and she waits.

SpyderByte has posed:
Settled on the Internet after a long day of marching about the zoo and getting into all types of trouble, Jeremy is sprawled out in his bed with his laptop on his chest. He has a pair of headphones over his head, noise cancelling type to try and ward off the rest of the signals around him. When he's working, he wants 'total' focus.

As he closes his eyes and slides his hands over his laptop, he feels his stoamch drop as he connects to the heart of the data, findng the rush hit his veins as the language of binary rushes through him. He gives a visible shudder, then sighs out softly as he starts poking and prodding the dark web. This is an area that few cyber sleuths are willing to travel, at least those with morals and values.

This is the area where shit goes down. Do you want to buy a child? Sure. Why not. How about human organs? Definitely. Wanna splice yourself with mutant DNA and get superpowers? You can do that here. Hire an assassin or watch a live feed of people being murdered? Check. This is the place!

So, why would a kid like him travel down into dark alleys? He felt a tug. A calling. Something was nudging him in that direction, whispering to him. Spyyyyder Byyyyyte. Come out and plaaaaay.

Challenge accepted. Player 2 has entered the game.

As Spyder Byte finds himself in front of a floating black wall that denies him entry to that which calls to him, he softly whispers to the computer in front of him. << Hi there. Let me in. I have important work to do and I need you to open up. Will you do that for me? >>

As his fingers stroke the green keys, he starts to unravel the code, taking his time.

Quake has posed:
Skye is no fool when the dark net is out in play. Sure she is not Oracle, but she ranks there. She had him (her?) really and begins to reel him (her?) in.

"Not yet... " Oh she grins, this one is interesting, and probably worth watching in the future. Unless.. she throws out a bit of Oracle code. What would he (her?) do?

SpyderByte has posed:
As Spyder Byte finds the new code beneath the code, he simply tells it what to do.

<< Knock knock. Open up. Now. >>

Instead of using his normal computer hacking skills, he uses his powers to push hard at the wall. The code becomes as simple as the alphabet to him as the digital wall explodes away, revealing whatever is behind it.

As he lays in his bed, he bobs his head, reaching for a soft drink next to the nightstand. Firewalls? Check. Erasing each foostep? Check. Utilizing Shi'ar alien technology to help him out on his adventure? Check. He loves this school.

Quake has posed:
And there he was. Well, something was. Once that wall was opened, it was empty. Just a place where two beings can talk without interruption. There were in a nook where nothing was seen from the outside. In other words, they were invisible.

DarkSky << Hi. So there you are. Don't worry, we're invisible. For a time. So, who are you? >>

SpyderByte has posed:
<< You went looking for me, so I have to assume you already know. What do you want? >>

Jeremy taps along the keyboard a few times in response.

<< You have thirty seconds to impress me before I disconnect. I have work to do and I don't do face to faces. >>

Set the tone. All business. Be aggressive.

Quake has posed:
DarkSky << 30 seconds huh? Oh ok. Have you heard of Tidepool? Me. And we brought it all down. You like things like corrupt international governments. Especially ones hurting kids. Mutant kids. I want your help. Have I got your attention now? >>

SpyderByte has posed:
<< You kinda have my attention. I know about Tidepool, yeah. By the way, you left port 2020 open. You should close it before someone pokes at it. >>

Jeremy gives a slight smile to himself.

<< What is this about mutant kids? What government? >>

Quake has posed:
Skye grins. Gotcha.

DarkSky << Nope. It's open for a reason. Care to find out? As for the government.. >>

Skye dropped a government well known for treatment of mutants but they wiggled under the entanglements of international policy.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< Thanks for the tip. I'll deep dive this and if there is any meat to it, I'll make sure it lands in the right hands. >>

Jeremy stares at port 2020, furrowing his brows.

<< As much as I'd love to peek at your ports, I bet that would be like activating your trap card. Anyways, nice meeting you. Gotta go. >>
