It's early evening at Central Park, the sun barely peeking around the edges of buildings having already sunk below the false 'horizon' of the tower tops. Even so, a warm breeze flutters leaves and brightly coloured paper lanterns that hang from trees and tall poles. A sign of the one day festival happening within.
Stalls have been set up in neat rows, bordering the paths for the main part, though some larger tents for either paper puppet theatre or libations have been pitched in the middle of grassy areas allowing for seating around both at small round tables and on the grass itself.
From all this steps Ysabelle, dressed in a traditional Kimono that has the softly faded colours of the truely antique garment. Mostly white, the outfit has brightly coloured birds of paradise embroidered into the silk with a deep burgandy sash that ties at the back. She's even put on a pair of the traditional wooden clogs, small groves showing in the wood from apparent use.
Her hair is held up in a tight bun, held in place by two golden hair pins, small emeralds glittering on the end of the adornments, with more small golden and coloured enamel birds dangling from small chains to further pins hidden from view. With her paper-white skin and bright gemlike turquoise eyes, more than one reveller looks twice, then thrice before they move on their way. The old magician seems to take it all in stride, stopping here and there to look at the various things on display.
