Synopsis: Grant and some mercs are on a mission. Jua needs psychic energy. Violence ensues.
Cast of Characters: Aguila 6, Kid

Aguila 6 has posed:
The alleyway is dark and sinister this evening. Hell's Kitchen, while not always a hotbed of crime, is also often a good place to find yourself beat up if you say the wrong thing in the wrong bar. That's what's about to happen to some dude in the alley. His name is Jack. Jack commented on how much better the Mets were than the Yankees and he'd been dragged outside by a couple of big dudes.

The trio about to throw down doesn't see the four camouflaged mercenaries on the roof of the building next to them. One of the soldiers of fortune is idly watching, waiting for the beating to commence. Watching people street fight is not their mission, but it's a pleasant diversion.

Across the alley from them on a roof all by himself is Grant Washington, armed to the teeth with a suppressed short barreled automatic rifle with an underbarrel grenade launcher. He's barely given the mess in the alley a glance. He's waiting for an alert from some guys in the van on the street. His target should be getting home to their apartment in the building the troops watching the brawlers are on.

Kid has posed:
Jua Mandala, aka Kid...still had to hunt, still had to feed. Still had to make sure he got what he needed. He was invisible, part of the shadows, the world...at least to those who see through normal eyes. And a brawl was exactly what he needed. Humans beating folks up over stupid reasons? Check! Reasonble folks to knock out and 'eat'? Double Check. An anctual flip about sport? No? TRIPPLE CHECK!

Jua meandered into the alley, unseen, unheard, except for some puddle ripples. But that was the only warning here. Jua would begin to surgically begin trying to in essence slam the various would be muggers into walls...which may promptly freak the other muggers out.

But as usual, he was keeping a mind out for bigger trouble. The more dangerous...more criminal the prey the better. He was studing the moods and surface thoughts of those around to see if he can latch onto anything else to feed off of, than just a mugging. And than he felt it...mercenaries.

He knew them too well...and glanced up as he held a man up in the air - making him look like he was floating, trying to gauge where these mercenaries where.

Aguila 6 has posed:
The target, Bernard Norris, arrives at his building and the soldiers from Aguila Military Innovations that are in the van outside alert their battle buddies. Grant speaks in rapid fire Spanish over the comms, telling his men to hold position for a few minutes. Wait for him to get home, get comfortable and then grab him. Norris is a hacker who found the wrong data and then sold it to someone who ratted him out to the people he stole it from. Those guys hired Grant's company to snatch the hacker and turn him over the folks he stole from. Grant couldn't care less about what'll happen to him afterwards.

Rather unusually, one of the mercs alerts the others that one of the brawlers in the alley is starting to fly. "What the hell?" Grant whispers to himself as he flips his night vision goggles down onto his eyes and leans over the roof to try to get a better look at the scene. Yep. There's a floating person there.

The other big guy in the alley yells, "Holy cow! Ben, you can fly! Are you a mutant?" Ben is freaking out, "Something's got me, Jerry! Help me!" Their victim, Jack, yells, "Mets Rule!" Then he attempts to run down the alley to safety.

Kid has posed:
A voice echos in their minds...and the minds in the mercenaries "Night Night Ben" and with that Jua drains Ben who begans spasming in his grip, clearly in distress! This last but a moment before he goes limp in the air and is tossed aside, and left to fall to the ground!

Jack is ignored...but as for Jerry...if he stood there watching or freaking out...well Jua would get behind him and snatch him by the leg and begin dragging him dowm the alley. With a warning going up to the mercenaries minds "Cause trouble, and your next...." he was already getting more info from the Mercs. Bernard Norris. Home. Address, he seeks an address...he'll protect that man the best he can. But he wanted to 'threaten' the mercs, get them off their game if he can.

Aguila 6 has posed:
Jerry leaps into action, rushing to aid his friend despite the fact that he's hearing things in his head. Then he, too, is grabbed!

The crew in the van starts asking over the radio about if the mission is still a go after hearing a voice in their heads. The guys on the roof are taking turns looking at the scene in the alley. Grant grunts in frustration and tells his men, in Spanish, to "Go get the target. I'll keep an eye on this craziness."

Trusting their officer to make the right call the rooftop crew stacks the door leading into the building, one of them moving to the side to shotgun the lock into smithereens before knocking the door open.

Jua is able to get the address as it's foremost in the mind of one of the roof team dudes. Apartment 3D, third floor. Second from the top floor. That guy seems to lead the fireteam. He's third in the stack of four men as they enter the stairway to head for their target.

"I feel as though you have me at a disadvantage," Grant calls down into the alley. Obviously he's dealing with an invisible psychic. Weirder stuff than that exists. "Are you looking for employment? I pay my men extremely well and with your talents I'd pay you far better than them."

Kid has posed:
Jua tosses Jerry aside hard into a wall...as before not giving to much care to what was going on. It was time to put his psychic powers to the test!

Across from Grant...the infamouse Malcolm Kid Ironwood, the brute in suit appears. A mobster by any look - infamouse for both his strength as his psychic ability...and known to be mute, speaking through signlanguage or telepathy. Weather Grant recognize this or not remains to be seen. But still the psionic message goes out "Money really doesn't do it for me. And I do not like folks messing with my hunting grounds" as if indicating this was a territory dispute more than anything.

Meanwhile the REAL Jua gets to work. Mercenires moniter wherever they can get the most intell. Kid himself goes around to the front of the building - appearing simply as a woman carrying in chinese food. He press the button to the apartment of one of his contacts, knowing they'll let him into the building. Judging by the size of the building...if his contact is home - he should make it to the third floor before the mercs do.

But it also ment keeping a telepathic 'eye' on Grants mind so his other illusions can continue 'speaking' to him. Talk about stretching your mind thin!

Aguila 6 has posed:
Inside the building Bernard Norris hears the sound of a gun going off on his roof. But hey, it's near the Fourth of July. Probably just one of his neighbors lighting off fireworks. He settles in at a desk that's got a keyboard and three computer monitors on it, turns on some old school techno and starts doing his thing on the PC.

The team of mercs sweep the stairs as they continue moving down.

It doesn't take long for Jua's contact to buzz him into the building.

Grant sees Ironwood and his head turns slightly to the side as he studies the figure, "Well, I apologize for hitting a target in your territory. Had I known I would have gone through proper channels to avoid any sort of disagreements between us. Since you're not interested in money is there anything I might be able to procure for you to right my unintentional wrong? Women? Guns? Drugs?"

Kid has posed:
The man lays leisurely back across the ledge, unafraid. "Mangos" his other strange trait. He was ALWAYS payed in mangos. "Well that WOULD normally be the case. But some folks seem to not like my lay-back pay. They think me a softy, a hack. So unfortunately for you, well your men more than you, they are on a count down. And with every step they take, the clock goes up instead of down. But guess it'll work out for you, since you'll probably will not have to pay them."

Why would a clock count up instead of down? Normally warning count down. Something more must be going on. "But, for the fun of it - I'll give you a chance to give your men a fair warning. That I am comming for them" in a feat of psionic strength, he makes his illusion swing down over the edge...and through a window, making it appear he had phasing powers. He was in no rush...as if all this was a hunting game to him. Having them watch their backs instead of their fronts would prove useful.

Meanwhile Buzzed in, Jua informs his contact to get to the safe room, gunshots and chaos are inbound. Another message goes to Norris o O ("Norris, listen very carefully. Yes there is a voice in your head. And yes it is talking to you. A band of mercneries are comming for you.") he sends the memory of the mercenires and grant o O ("Do as I say. Do not resist. I am trying to help get you out of here safe. Unlock your front door, and return to your computer.") it was a strong Suggestion - he couldn't fully mind control people, but he can plant powerful suggestions.

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Keep your eyes open! Contacts incoming!" Grant radios his men in Spanish as he looks at the building across the alley from himself. This is why he came, in case of some random New York metahuman interference. He takes a few steps away from the edge of the ledge, lifts his goggles away from his face, and sprints towards the alley, leaping off the rooftop towards the third floor window facing him directly.

The mercenary captain smashes through the glass and hits the floor inside someone's apartment. It's a couple of elderly people who start to freak out. Grant glances at them to make sure they're not a threat before continuing towards where their apartment exits into the hallway.

Norris goes to his front door and unlocks, then returns to his seat at his computer, thinking hard, ("What's going on? Who are you?")

The mercs in the building are still heading down to their target, though they're just about at the right floor by now.

Kid has posed:
("What going on is some folks want to kidnap you. WHo I am doesn't matter. But suffice to say, you did something stupid." O o yea Kid could be Harsh. Kid was already heading up the stairs when he felt the distress...older couple. Shoot, Grant was on the move. But the bait was also taken. He needed to act fast.

Kid ascends the stair wwell on the side, so it not curving around the building, taking up valuble time. This allows him to reach the third floor. But he still need to change how things looked. He quickly creates an illusion that *reverses* the order of the address - so that they would go to the wrong apartment....an empty one judging by the feel of it.

Still, he had to move quickly and stealthly. Kid would begin to quietly make his way down the hall towards Norris real address...and if he bumped into Grant would press himself agaist a wall to try and avoid the mercenary.

If success he would slip into Norris apartment - pushing open the door. Not that it would look open - he had to keep the place looking as unobstructed as possible after all.

Aguila 6 has posed:
The door to the old folks' apartment is nearly yanked off the hinges when Grant opens it, holding his rifle at the ready as he enters the hallway. Without checking the numbers to the apartments he makes a straight line for Norris' home. Washington can't tell, but Jua is probably already inside it.

The other mercenaries climb off the stairwell into the hallway and see Grant already waiting for them. They're on edge and alert, looking for the threat they were told is headed their way.

In his rapid Spanish Grant orders his men to, "Take the target. I'll cover the hallway."

The team of mercenaries prepares to do as they're told. The shotgunner gets on the opposite side of the door as his comrades and prepares to shoot the lock. The other guys line up, ready to enter as soon as the door is open. One of them prepares a Taser.

Inside, Norris is freaking out, ("But I covered my tracks! There's no way anything could be traced back to me! Oh god, I don't want to get kidnapped!") "Just don't hurt me!" he screams out loud. "I'm calling the police!"

Kid has posed:
Jua could THROTTLE the man. But this was probably a good thing. But for now he grabs Norris, having had made it inside the apartment before Grant arrived...thankfully. He quietly made his way there and grabbed the man....and he drains him to quickly knock him out. Moving fast he quickly takes the man into the bathroom and lays him down in the tub to protect from any potential bullet fire....and renders him invisible

While he does this...an illusionary copy of the man looking to be frantically searching for his cellphone! All while an invisible Jua waits in the doorway of the bathroom. It was time to get his game face on.

Aguila 6 has posed:
The team of mercenaries at the apartment door enter easily as it's unlocked, each of the four man team knows what he's supposed to do. The first two move to the left and the right, the third starts moving left initially until he sees 'Norris' and aims his Taser at him, stepping a few feet closer before firing due to the limited range of the weapon. The last of the mercenaries looks up towards the ceiling to make sure there's nothing above the rest of the team to worry about before scanning the rest of the room.

In the hallway Grant stands with his weapon at the ready. A nosy neighbor sticks their head out and Grant shakes his head at them, motioning them back inside.

Kid has posed:
Of course Norris doesn't go down. The taser goes right through him...and he turns around to face the mercenaries as he tells them "Lights out" and suddenly...all four mercenaries are struct with a new illusions - total darkness. They couldn't see the room, each other, anything. It was all pitch black.

Using this suddenly darkness to his advantage, he pulls out a wrench....and throws it at the ribs of the farthest mercenary. He knew that it probably wouldn't hurt him, but he if he could think he was being attacked from a direction other than where Jua was, it would be helpful.

He would use the oppertunity to move forward, grab and drain one of the mercenries off from the off-set, draining them enough to be put in a coma no less!

Aguila 6 has posed:
The men in the room let out a surprised shout when they're suddenly unable to see anything. They reach for the flashlights attached to their weapons, turning them on to try to get a better view of what's happening around them. Of course, it's not very likely to work thanks to Jua's mental manipulation. Then one of the soldiers gets struck in the body armor by, of all the things, a wrench! He grunts as it impacts him and he turns to face the direction it came from, lifting his rifle to pop off a pair of rounds into the darkness. The guy who gets grabbed doesn't stand a chance against the formidable might and psychic powers of the gorilla. He goes limp very quickly.

When he hears gunfire from the apartment Grant shoulders his rifle and goes inside, looking for the threat so he can deal with it himself.

Kid has posed:
Keep it togeather Jua. Keep the illusions going. As he senses Grant enter the apartment...he would see Malcolm Kid Ironwood, setting quite casually on the sofa facing the men. He 'says' to Grant "I think there some beer in the refrigerator. Get me a can?" all so casually.

Meanwhile the invisible Jua has to quickly slide into the bathroom door, grabbing his shoulder as a bullet slid agaist it. There was a momentary 'glitch' in the illusion before it all returned. One shoulder down, but more was needed. Waiting for the gunshots to cease momentarily, Jua would quickly come out and to the left, stepping defylu around the house to get to the other side of the soldiers.

He would try to grab the second soldier and like with the force, drain them into a coma like state.

Aguila 6 has posed:
Grant puts his sights on Malcolm's forehead and squeezes the trigger twice, moving smoothly and surely, like he's done it a hundred times or more. Of course, it's unlikely there will be any result from it.

Jua's glitch leads to further confusion on the part of the mercenaries. They end up nearly backing into each other as they strive to cover everywhere in the room at once. One of them says in Spanish, "What's going on? Ramirez just dropped. Where is this asshole?"

Replying to his men, still speaking Spanish, Grant says, "Shut up and listen for footsteps!"

The guy Jua goes after can't compete with the other, more powerful, primate. The sound of him hitting the floor alerts Grant, however, and the officer turns, reacting faster than humanly possible. Leveling his weapon in that direction and flipping the selector lever to automatic, the commando starts cutting loose with a long burst of gunfire in a horizontal line, hoping to nail the invisible assailant.

Kid has posed:
Oh crap oh crap oh crap! Jua was being forced to back up from that horizontal assult. Worse he was forced to flip a table to absorbed the bullets. This of course gave away his position, both to Grants confirmation and the mercenaries listening. He would have to go more Brute force.

Waiting for the initial magizine to empty, he KICKS the door with all the force a gorilla can muster, right at Grant. This is accompanied by the sound of someone running around, hoping to draw the mercenires firews there. If successfull...Jua would barrel into the mercenaries and try to take out the last two the old fashion way - by knocking their likely helmeted skulls togeather HARD. Hard enough to crack the helmets most likely..and if they don't follow the sound, well he is ducking the hell out to avoid being shot up!

Aguila 6 has posed:
As the door flies at him Grant darts to the side to avoid it, flattening himself against the wall. With his weapon dry Grant quickly drops the spent magazine and loads a fresh one, hitting the bolt release to finish loading his weapon. It's smooth and fast. Scary fast. The boss soldier is almost definitely more than he appears. He tells his men in Spanish, "Grab the guys. We're out. This was a setup." Whoever hired Aguila may regret it after this.

The other two soldiers look around, trying to find the source of the running sound. Then there's a gorilla in their midst, bashing their heads together. With a loud 'CRACK' their helmets impact each other and the guys go down!

Grant is back at it again. When his boys hit the floor he points his weapon in the direction he thinks their attacker is in and starts shooting again. He doesn't wait to see if he hits anything, though. Instead, he launches himself towards the nearest window. The three floor drop might mess up a normal man, but Captain Washington's cybernetic implants will take the hit for him.

Kid has posed:
Jua tries to dodge...but takes a few bullets to the arm and back. He was tough...but it hurt like hell. He was going to have to see a fixer...again. He HATED that. But there was no time to think on that. He heads for the bathroom and grabs Norris...he'll take him to the underground fight arena....no one would expect a normie there, and he could find some help in patching himself up. It was the best he could do...he'll of course leave invisibly, leaving the cops to figure out what the hell happened here.
