Catching up with a graduate
Date of Scene: 08 July 2020
Location: Manhattan
Synopsis: Beast and Andrea catch up on current events.
Cast of Characters: Rage, Beast

Rage has posed:
It's a bright and sunny day in New York and Andrea is currently sitting on the deck of her condo that overlooks the expanse of New York City. This area is for the wealthy with a gated and locked lobby down below. Her condo itself is located on one of the highest floors. The twelth to be exact. The entire condo has a wrap around three-sixty glass windows, a wide open concept with a large kitchen filled with high end appliances. Pure white furniture over white tiled floors. It's definitely glamerous and designed to impress.

Out on the deck in front of a small firepit and a couple of benches designed for socializing. There's a large water cooler nearby filled with water, soda and a few adult beverages. Celebrities, right? She's waiting for one of her favorite teachers to stop by for a visit, having extended an invitation earlier in the week. She's dressed in expensive designer skinny jeans and a long sundress that hits at the knees in a bright white and floral pattern print.

Jay Guthrie, her boyfriend and roommate isn't currently home. He's with his brother Sam at the club, working on setting up a new floor plan, thus leaving her to her own devices. At the moment, she has a laptop in front of her, skimming through a few shopping sites.

Beast has posed:
Getting a chance to meet with a former student is always nice for Hank. It's good to see what they're doing with their lives outside of the mansion. Plus, it's entirely possible you just miss them.

Hank's dressed in khakis and a white button up short sleeve shirt. Pretty casual.

The furry blue teacher makes it into the lobby thanks to his name being on the list. He even had to show ID, in case there's another brawny, blue furred nerd in the area. Once through, though, he makes it to the elevator and arranges to go to the 12th floor. On the way up he sends a text to Andrea, 'I've just arrived! Getting on the elevator now. Can't wait to see you.'

Rage has posed:
<< No problem, see you soon! >>

Once the glass elevator makes it's way up to her floor and slides open, there is a short hallway that walks to her door. Since there is only one condo per floor, there is no mistaken which one is hers.

At the top of the door is a pair of black cameras tucked behind clear reinforced plastic boxes to hit both angles for security. The door itself looks to be made of thick steel in the form of a normal door. A few bolts can be heard unlocking, followed by the sight of the popstar.

"Hello Mr. McCoy!" She says, using his 'teacher' name still. "Come on in. Welcome to my home. Jay is out right now, but he'll be back later. Do you want something to drink or eat? I went shopping earlier so I'm fairly stocked up. I was out on the deck just enjoying the fresh air."

Beast has posed:
"Andrea! You're looking wonderful. How are you?" Hank asks the former student, his face lighting up when he sees her. As he enters the residence he takes a look around, eyes widening ever so slightly before his head nods in appreciation. "Your home is beautiful." Then the subject of nourishment. "I would love some water, please, or juice."

Focusing his attention on his young friend again he asks, "What have you been working on lately? I heard something about a new album. What are you focusing your studies on?"

Rage has posed:
"Thank you! I've had this place for years, but since I was living at Xavier's, I was renting it out. I'm glad to have the place back to myself again." Andrea says as she motions him to follow her. "My brother has a room down the hall, and Jay and I share the Master over there." She motions as she goes.

Once they step out on to the deck, she opens the cooler and hands him both a water and a juice after giving him a quick hug. Settling herself down into a cozy beanbag styled chair, there is a few more for guests to share around the firepit.

"So, my new album will be here August 1st. It's called Neon Dreams and has a retro vibe to it. A lot more adult, a bit more darker. My new single is out as of this morning so I've been watching the news and seeing how people are feeling. So far a lot of positive reviews. Fans love it. Haters hate it. Jay and I are both attending NYU in the Fall. He is going to study I believe Sound Engineering and I'm going to do Production. I'm hoping that once my music career ends, I can do behind the scenes in Broadway and Theater."

Taking a sip of her water, she gives him a bright smile. "Also! My charity is finalizing the plans to send to the city to open a free health clinic in mutant town."

Beast has posed:
Following Andrea along, Beast continues to study his surroundings. The quick hug is returned with great affection before Hank accepts his drinks, "Thank you." He then takes a seat in one of the comfortable looking chairs, easing his bulk down gradually in case he might somehow break it.

"Wonderful! I can't wait to listen to it. I'll certainly download the single when I return home," he says excitedly, seeming to be quite happy for his friend. "And those sound like wonderful things to study. I'm sure you'll be quite successful with whatever you choose to do, however. You're a very talented person."

"A free clinic? That's terrific. The people there will be incredibly grateful to have someone else looking out for them."

Rage has posed:
"Yup! So between the twenty-four hour crisis line I implemented a few years ago and the health clinic, I'm hoping that mutants will take advantage of these resources to seek out help. My goal is to have it staffed by all mutants, and maybe a few humans depending on their qualifications. I want mutants to feel comfortable."

Andrea is serious in her tone as she speaks about this particular project of hers. It's no surprise, being that she has been a loud, and vocal mutant rights activist. After taking another sip, she gives him a smile. "I can play the song for you right now if you want. I have it queued up in my speakers." She motions around to the surround sound that is attached to the roof.

"But, what have you been doing? Everything okay at the school? I miss everyone so much. I miss Shannon and Megan and all of my girls. I think I'm going to surprise them with a spa date coming up."

Beast has posed:
"That makes perfect sense. There are enough issues with white coat syndrome already, plus a general distrust of authority, that staffing with as many mutants as possible would probably help alleviate many concerns," Hank says with a nod.

Then he'll nod again, "I'd love to hear it!"

As for him, "I've got a number of projects I'm working on, as always. Building a better mousetrap and such. Things at the school are going well. I'm sure they would love to see you, too."

Rage has posed:
As she reaches over to her phone, Andrea taps a few buttons to get the song playing over the speakers. She glances upwards for a moment, then over to him with a smile. "If at all possible, I'd love your guidance on the clinic. You know, maybe help me with some interviews? Just make sure we get the right people in. This isn't really my world, but I'm at least having my charity do some of the funding in partnership with the city. This is something I do not want to screw up."

As she finishes one bottle of water, she lobs it over into the recycle bin, then leans over to the cooler to grab a juice. She bobs her head as she listens to the song, smiling to herself. "It's definitely not sugar pop like what I used to do."

Beast has posed:
"I'd be more than happy to help you out with that project in any way that I can," Hank says with a smile. "I imagine I can weed out the bad apples before they get hired."

He alternates drinks between his water and his juice, nodding along to the song, "It's quite good. You did a wonderful job blending the sounds and your voice is lovely, as always."

Rage has posed:
Giving him a grin, Andrea nods her head. "Thank you! I am a bit scared to go into this genre of music because it's not my typical bubbly pop music. But, I wanted to do something a bit more mature with lyrics that speak to who I am."

Her smile brightens even more. "Do you wanna hear my second single that comes out next week, early? It's called Icarus. Pretty sure you know who I wrote this song about."

Beast has posed:
"I really like it. I'm a fan of a lot of eighties pop and I'm certainly getting some very similar feelings listening to this," Hank says approvingly. "It's wonderful that you can express yourself this way and share it with such a large audience."

"Oh yes!" Beast exclaims. "I would very much like to listen to that as well. If I get it stuck in my head I'll do my best not to sing it out loud in public. Don't want to spoil anyone's surprise."

Rage has posed:
Scrolling her finger through the album, Andrea presses play on 'Icarus' as well. "I could just send you the whole album if you want." She says with a giggle. "You can be the first to hear all of it. Not even Jay or Sam has heard all the tracks yet. Mostly to stick to NDA, but also to drive Jay nuts. This particular album was designed to be really personal and so I needed no boy distractions! But, this song was written about him when he first came to the school after his ex-girlfriend killed herself. I remember how upset he was and how his family was struggling to connect with him."

She rubs her hands together, taking another sip of her juice. "So, this one is about maybe two years old and I just now got around to putting it into an album. He's heard this one though. The only song he's heard on the album. I had to make sure he was okay with it first."

Beast has posed:
"Really? That would be terrific," Hank seems quite happy as he chuckles deep in his chest. "I can only imagine how jealous everyone would be." When things grow more serious the teacher's expression does as well. He nods faintly, "Quite a rough time for him. I'm glad he came out the other end safely, though."

Rage has posed:
"I am too. We became best friends, then by the time graduation came around, he finally admitted his true feelings for me. Now that I had any doubt. We know. He just didn't want to admit to them out of guilt. Which of course I understand. I'm glad that he did finally come around and was able to make peace with Julia and move on. I love him so much and it was hard watching him go through all of that. I just tried my best to support him." Andrea says as she scrolls through the phone, shifting her jaw to the side thoughtfully.

After a few more taps, Hank would receive an alert on his phone with a downloadable file. Her lips curve upwards. "No leaking or sharing. I'll know who it came from." She teases him. "So what else is going on? Oh! I guess I can tell you about my brother. I have one." She says with a grin. "Which I know is news to you, being that I was a single child. Buuut.. I found out... I have a twin .. and he's a half-demon who takes dead souls to their landing spot. It's a long story involving my mother overseas during combat, nearly losing her life, making a deal with a demon who knocked her up to save her life, and then he took my twin brother at birth to raise, while mom raised me and not once did they ever tell my dad. So. Yeah. That is the short and dirty version of this weird twist of fate and I'm still trying to process it all."

"So, now he lives with me.. uh.. he can turn into a hell hound .. Are you familiar with a Barghest?"

Beast has posed:
"That's a rather sweet story," Beast says softly, smiling gently. "I'm truly glad that you found one another. It's nice to have someone to care about romantically."

When his phone gets an alert Hank looks at it, then at his friend and nods, "I'll keep it to myself. Lord it over everyone that I got an early copy to make them all jealous of me!" He's very much joking.

The brother subject quickly piques his interest, "Well, that is surprising. I'm glad that you and he seem to get along well enough to be roommates. Hopefully there's a deep familial bond there." The hell hound thing gets a nod, "Yes. I played D&D when I first went to university."

Rage has posed:
"Well, that's .. uh .. what my father is. My DNA daddy. He's a Barghest. I popped out a werewolf mutant, he popped out a half-demon.. my father's um.. lineage got passed down to him and he lost his powers. So, he's been training him this entire time. Then, um.. I guess Nevada, that's his name, and Thane, who is my father, got kinda into it and Nev decided he wanted to meet me and drop these truth bombs."

Andrea spreads her hands out, then flops them at her sides. "He felt it wasn't fair I guess. And I couldn't let him be homeless. So.. he lives here."

Reaching out to take her phone, she opens it up to reveal a few pictures and holds it out. "That's him! .. and .. the black dog is him.. so.. if you've seen my Instagram lately, uh... he's.. my .. cute black fluffy dog.. the guy is a upvote machine. Everyone loves him."

Beast has posed:
"Wow!" Beast exclaims, sounding surprised. "That is one heck of a thing to have happen to you."

Looking at her phone he nods, "That's pretty amazing. I'll admit to having some envy towards shape shifters. Not that I'm dissatisfied with my life in any way, but the ability to become someone or something else for a time appeals to me."

Rage has posed:
"You say that until you bust through your clothes every single time and then you gotta get home naked and everyone takes pictures of you. Not so awesome for a celebrity. Nevada though? His clothing melts with him. Super not fair." Andrea says with a bit of a pout upon her face as she folds her arms across her chest.

"Sometimes I miss my bumblebee uniform back when I was a New Mutie. The fact it would shift with me was fun. But, they don't make designer clothes to do that." She says with a giggle. "Though, I think your blue fur is quite handsome Mr. McCoy. But I can see why you may want to lose it sometimes."

Beast has posed:
"I can see where that might be a liability," McCoy admits to Andrea. "That does sound quite handy, shifting with your attire and equipment."

"I'd tell you to speak to Janet Van Dyne about the possibility of designer clothes for shifters. If I see her at the Avenger's mansion next time I'm there I'll ask her about it for you." He pauses, "Could you perhaps recommend a good place for me to have a suit tailored? I've got a few, but I have a new lady friend and I'd like to surprise her with something exceptional."

Rage has posed:
"Haaaaank, you got a girlfriend? Holy cow. You gotta bring her by." Andrea says with a giggle as she leans back into her squishy chair. "Of course I'll set you up." She says as she picks her phone, tapping away at the glass with her thumbs. "I'll send you over Rachel. She's /incredible/. She is my personal designer. Just don't be too caught off guard by her sass. She gave Jay fits last time because she's quite handsy, but that's only because she wants to make sure every inch is tailored to perfection."

There is a wolfish grin on her face as she giggles to herself. "I sent her a text. When she hits me up, I'll set up a meeting for you two. But I'm telling you, she is an industry leader in fashion."

Beast has posed:
"I'll arrange for you two to meet," Hank says to Andrea with a chuckle. Then he nods, "Thank you very much. I can read a book on fashion, but actually implementing what I've read is something else altogether."
