We're all Animals Here...
Date of Scene:	08 July 2020
Location:	Abandoned Warehouse, Lower East Side
Synopsis:	Jua is saved by the unlikely team up of Detective Chimp and Mercy Thompson

Kid has posed:
Earlier That Day:

It was like most days. Kid as usual came in during the night to begin work. Setting up shops, making sure tools were ready for use. Delivery some nice parts he found at the junkyard, case mercy liked them. The shop has been...the most normal part of his life, it brought a smile to his face. Little did he know, the small bit of peace he found...was about to be disturbed.
    As his shift came to an end, he came outside ready to head off, waving goodby to Mercy. A nondescript black van is driving by...and suddenly Kid...goes down. A hail of gunshots to keep anyone else away as Kid is pulled in and the car peels out and drives away like a bat out of hell.

Mid-Day
    Kid is no one where to be found. But he was only one of several cases of animal kidnapping. As it stands the zoo and several private collectors had exhibits and or prized animals stolen/kidnapped! The operations were quick, precise, and calculated. News spread fast, and the crime scenes open to any would be detectives and heros.

Night: Current Time
    With nightime fallen, people have hopefully begun figuring out where the culprits are...or maybe no one cares. Who can say? One way or another the trail leads here.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp had been looking into a smuggling ring that worked through carnivals, when this happened. He checked a few of his contacts and while not the one he is looking for, he will do a bit of checking and with perhaps be seen outside the Garage before moving on to follow the clues.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Somebody kidnapped her help? Oh. Oh this isn't on...nope. Mercy's got a wremch within reach,,,,and much like Chimp, Mercy is following up the cluees too, see, Mercy is not happy with her hired help going missing. Outside the warehouse, on four paws, Mercy stares at the building and has her hackles raised. She needs a way in there, maybe she can leap in a window and see what's up in there?

Kid has posed:
With the clues leading to the warehouse...it seem positive they were on the right track. No one payed the coyote no mind, despite there being guards there. They actually seem to talk about her, commenting how Mercy reminded them of their own dog. The guards didn't seem like bad people, likely they didn't know what was going on.

Meanwhile Chimp, assumedly being there, will either be quickly noticed and have guns pointed at him if he goes in openly. Or if he found a good hiding spot, would see the coyote looking for a way in. Which was NOT typical coyote behavior. Possible this coyote was smarter or likely lived there.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp is the sneaky type so once he found the place he would take a page out of the bats book, and head up high getting a look around the area. He studies the building and how to get in. Once he sees the Coyote, a brow will raise a bit and he hmms softly "They don't think she is an escaped animal interesting must be morons.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's glad to not get shot to ribbons and she's amused that the guards are talking about her. Maybe she can use this to her advantage...as she sits and watches the guards before strolling around sniffing the ground as if she's found interesting things to smell, all the while she's looking for a way in. Maybe she can convince a guard to let her inside? Or somethingg, maybe? Or maybe she could get captured and run out the door or something? Either way she strolls around and begins looking for somewhere they wouldnn't think of to sneak in.

Kid has posed:
Detective Chimps hiding spot, and Mercy sneaking both reveal there is an unguarded back door up some stairs. Due to the rundown area, at least a shady less than ideal operation probably wouldn't bother guarding it. There were also various broken windows. And as Chimp specifically would see...skylights availible. Mercy on the other hand, while she couldn't see the skylights...she could tell that one one of the guards would let her in for some food, by the way he was talking, commenting on her sniffing.

MEANWHILE. They suddenly jump as a massive roar goes out. And most folks can feel a sudden rage wash over them...before the words "SHOOT HIM! SHOOT HIM!" a gunshot...and the sensation ceases. This scared the guards proper. If mercy was affected, she'll probably know that was one of Kid's temper tantrums.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will seem a bit surprised at the rage, but heads to the skylight and into the building. HE moves to see who or what they are shooting at, how he can help to keep these animals alive. The monkey moves along the girders, trying to find the guard who will be the least noticed getting taken out.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy flattens her ears and slips around the side of the warehouse aiming for the back door. That was one of Kid's tantrums indeed as Mercy looks like she's got a purpose and a reason....and up the stairs, into the back door she goes. Coyotes are not too thrilled with novelty but Mercy's got a job to do here. Get Kid out. Actually, no. Get Kid out and get out of the way since she's pretty sure he'll either tear the place apart or something...either way, claws click on the floor as Mercy's snuck to the door and peeers inside.

Kid has posed:
Chimp would easily be able to find which guard would be easiest to take out. One cowering WAAAAAY in the back, cause screw that noise. As he would easily spot, they were shooting at none other than a very large gorilla...or where. The Gorilla was down, it looked like they tranqued him...for now. They were clearly argueing about weathey they should kill him or not due to being a liability.

Mercy meanwhile ie sbale to sneak up up to the door and into the warehouse. With everyone pre-occupied with what just occured, her presence was in a world, undetected. It would allow her to slink through as she pleased.

The warehouse had pandas, a baby elephant, some gazzel as well, along with other large land herbivores. It seems whoever got this gig, was primarily interested in these kinds of animals.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will drop down and with the training of a half century and the strength of a Chimp, make short work of the guy in the corner. Taking any keys he may have. He hmms and with a bit of study, will start making his way towards the animals cages in the shadows telling them "Gonna get you out of here, but be ready for my signal." He does look to stay hidden for now, keeping an eye on what they plan on doing to the Gorilla

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Click, click, click. Mercy's claws click on the floor as she moves quickly and deliberately to get the guards. Mercy's not playing too nice. She's the sort of coyote that can and will chew on the backs and insides of knees and ankles, and snap and snarl. Mercy though looks over the guards and watches it all.

Kid has posed:
Now a new set of Chaos arrives in the form of Mercy. The guards are attracted to her due to the fact she began attacking them! This caused them to draw their guns and begins trying to shoot mercy! Even if hit, it was all tranqs! But Mercy wasn't any ordinary coyote!

Chimp is able to calm alot of the animals. Thier ears flicker, as they stamp their paws and hooves, but are waiting...waiting for freedom. As for the guards around Kid. One says "Go check that out. This has been enough trouble" and he begins to move to the cage, drawing a knife.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will look around and finding one of the tranq guns that they left handy for the animals. Chimp stays to the shadows and uses the cover of the other gunfire to tranq knife boy. He smirks a bit and checks how many rounds and how many goons there are,

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy can top out at 60 and she's using the guards as cover trying to get them to tranq each other and not her. Because Mercy's not a fan of being tranq'd any. Plus humans, or bipedal things? Bigger targets. And given she's running around like she's ingested a sugar mill;s worth of product, Mercy's not really staying that still too often. She's tricky and dangerous and doing her hit and run thing too. It's one thing to have a wild animal bite. It's another to have said wild animl run off at freeway speeds

Kid has posed:
Needless to say, the guard by kid goes down. Those tranqs were HEAVY duty for a reason. Chimp had at least 10 rounds, with just one gun, and there were others laying about. In all there may have been 20 to 30 goons. But with Mercy keeping them distracted with her car-like speed, the goons were downing themselves, along with any help Chimp gives.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp Will climb up to get a snipers spot, and starts taking out the guards in the back first "Learned that from sgt York." He will say softly to him self. "One two, three little sleeping poachers." He trys to keep himself unseen but will target any who seem to be getting closer to hitting Mercy.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's skittering every which way she can to throw off the guards. Those who get too close get Mercy showing her agility and speed on four paws. In actuality she's leading them back to where she can easily go for them. Which is also where Chimp can get a better bead on them, though she's grumpy at her fun being ruined by guards taken out. She after all, is a predatory animal and is, yes, going for the ones who would hurt the poor, defenseless animals. Tranqs are good for them, but Mercy wants them locked up in cages and treated how they treated their animals...a fact made clear by Mercy trying her best to drag a guard to a cage.

Kid has posed:
The gaurd was already tranqued and barely putting up a fight. Only weak kicks follow, but they wouldn't hurt a fly at this point. But it did open her up to other guards! However as the guards approach her, Chimp expert sniping skills come in handy. With every second, another guard is downed, leaving a trail of snoozing corpses. Of course they eventually figure out where the shooting is comming from. Half of them were down and some were going for Chimp! Trying to hit him wioth some shots...while others were booking it out of there

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp ducks back down where he can be seen and calls out "Joe you guys come in from the west, Sam you take the back door, get the ESA guys coming in from the roof, I want all f these fellows make sure none get past you." He tries bluffing.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's still in ankle bite territory. Or rather ankle bite and chew on, and bring the guards down with that. That's the plan but hearing Chimp's bluffing, she bolts for the door. Nah, she's already had one run in with animal control this year. No need for a second breakout....there goes the energetic canine. She's got a mind to come back on two legs and check things out later mind

Kid has posed:
Chimps bluff works. Between all the shooting, the missing animals and this craziness...they were OUT! All the guards begin to flee to try and run away! It was every man for themselves. It seems the unlikely and still unmet duo have managed to save the day this time

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will tranq any guards he can and get them in the cages. He then heads over to check on the gorilla, and sees if he can rouse the big guy.

Kid has posed:
The last of the guards have either run or been tranqed. Kid is there...and as Chimp rouses him...well tries too...he will feel that rage spike again. It was a psionic gorrilla...in a very (understandably) bad mood. He...may not be the safest thing to wake up, least not without something to calm him.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will look at him, and says "Calm down, the bad guys are in the cage, it is just us with prehensile feet." He will tell the Ape. He will look around and if sees something to drink will move to get it for Kid.

Kid has posed:
Judging by the way Kid SLAMS into the cage...he was not calming down. He was freaking out. His temper increasing by the moment. Already denting the metal bars. If there was any sapience to him...it would not be seen in that moment. But an observent person would likely notice that Kid was primarily paniked about the cage. Due to the conditions of the building, finding any kind of good water would be a miricle, though some animals cages did have it.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will move to open the door to the cage "Dude, your not locked in, come on out of there, your ok, your amongst friends." He tries to reassure Kid. Looks like they aint got any bottled water you ok with something the Panda's water?"

Kid has posed:
Once the cage was unlocked, Kid Bolts on out. Single minded in his mission of 'Get Out'. He barreled through animals cages that luckily held gaurds, and stacks of wooden crate...only to burst outside the doors. Only than did the sensation of rage seem to dwindle....the gorrilla flopping on the ground...seems he was claustophobic. Still....Chimp would recieve a telepathic message o O ("Whose head am I ripping off?")

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Well preferable no ones as if you do finding out who they are working for might be hard, and even harder for me to explain to the folks who will come to take the animals back home."

Kid has posed:
o O ("Eh. I just gotta eat their brain that all. Or their mind and you'll know. Maybe. SOmetimes goons are idiotes.") comes the sharp beastly response back.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks over, and says "So, want to come in here and help me get the rest of the animals free, see which ones want to go back to the wild which ones want to go back to their homes around here. Can ya call in a Gorilla city transport?

Kid has posed:
o O ("Yea, I can help with that. No luck on Gorilla City though. Only ever been there once. Though I have wanted to visit. Do you know what it is like?") he may be psychic, he may be a gorilla, but his experience with the place he was born was extreamly limited. Still he...hestingly makes his way back in. Though he couldn't quite hide the beast he was...the animals didn't exactly feel comfortable with him, acting as if they were around a predator. But Jua would none the less be able to decern such infomation.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks about and says "Guys he is on our side, he aint going to hurt you, he is going to help me get you free." It seems all the animals understand him, and he them. "Been there a few times, is an ok place, but to be honest felt out of place there about as much as anywhere else. Aint found Chimp Ville yet."

Kid has posed:
o O ("Know that feeling. Least guys understand you on some level.") he broadcast. He really did understand feeling out of place more or less everywhere. o O ("Jua the name." he opens the cages to those who would be going 'home'. o O ("Are you going to call this in? Me and police do not get along"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and pulls out his JLA card, and says "Yea, got this little baby not to long ago been itching to use it." He offers with a smile "So mind if I ask, whats your story?"

Kid has posed:
Kid doesn't smile back as the last of the animals wanting to go home are let out. o O ("You want the Whole Truth? Or half a tale?") the way his mind almost seemed to...jab at Chimp indicated that it is a sore subject for him. While he was open to shareing...it not...a happy tale.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Well from that bit, guessing mine is a bit easier tell, but sure lets hear the whole thing. He will make a call in and says "Lets sit up on the cat walk, do need to make sure none of these guys decide it is cool to eat the others"

Kid has posed:
Kid climbs onto the catwalk o O ("There all herbivores. The only one you gotta worry about is me. Pretty sure I am the only carnivore here") he settles by an open window on the catwalk. o O ("Let see. Story story. Folks left gorrila city for political upheveal along with others. Got captured and kid. Me and alot of other babies taken to a facility, and experimented on. I was the only one to develope powers...so they killed everyone else, continued experimentation. More or less kept me in a cage for 17 years. During my time there, only nice human was a guy named Juan. After one particularly brutal experiment, I ate his brain and killed everyone involved that I could. More or less stayed caged after that. Before I broke out during Darksied invasion of earth. And ever since then I have been running into the natural and supernatural occurances of earth"). He went through it fast...it was on purpose. He was a mess of emotions just from telling it that way.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp hmms and nods his head a bit to this "Was taken as a normal chimp when young, luckily the trainer who took me in was actually a decent fellow. Was part of a traveling show, ended up finding the fountain of youth with a friend, we both drunk from it, got smarter, and able to talk to anything alive. Trainer was attacked, I solved the crime and ended up going from there.

Kid has posed:
o O ("What happened to your friend? Or were you referring to the trainer? Juan was decent...considered him my pa" he admits.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks over and says "The friend I drank with was a dog, he is still out there, we get together every few years. Might have seen him in some of the military or hero things Ace the wonder dog."

Kid has posed:
("Well he would not be the first talking dog I have met") O o he muses. o O ("I imagine you miss your other friend, the trainer") he notes. He has calmed down from his initial outburst considerably. o O ("So gotta ask, whats the weirdest thing you have seen?")

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp hmmms and says "Probably some demons who thought they were mobsters, and tried to run chigago in the 80s." H Smiles and says "And my trainer has been gone for a while

Kid has posed:
("Now mobsters I like. Still want to get a good suit someday. They had muscle and style") Not the best rolemodel for a young gorrila...but it does fit his brutal nature. He pauses o O ("Wait...where is this fountain of yourth?") he asks Chimp pointedly.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks to the other and says "Sorry can't tell ya, is part of the magic of it. Keeps us from just dragging more people down there and having them drink from it. Think it is part of the cost for what it gives.

Kid has posed:
Kid considers this o O ("But you do REMEMBER where it is? Right?") he ask. His fingers twitch a bit as he was looking for Chimp. Considering the telepathic communication...well it doesn't take a telepath to figure out what he is thinking.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp smirks a bit and says "Sorta, I could probably find my way back by myself or with Ace, but magic protects it

Kid has posed:
Kid laughs before broadcasting o O ("Well, if you let me in, perhaps I could put togeather the clues. But eh. Magic. It just like Yes...but actually no. But if you do this...it still no, but actually yes")

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and says "Yea, I have learned to deal with magic sorta my specialty these days Find it stays the same a lot more than science does.

Kid has posed:
o O ("Been diving into magic, trying to find artifacts. No luck so far. But I am sure I will find something eventuially") he muses to him.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks over as the JLA techies deal with the animals, and says "What ya hoping for out of it?"

Kid has posed:
o O ("Not die.") he clarifies ("Which is not the same as live forever. Those experiments screwed me up something bad. I rather have time take me, than whatever those motherfers did bring me down")

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "I might know a few people who could look ya over, and see if there is anythign ya need to worry about."

Kid has posed:
Kid grunts o O ("You mean doctors and all those sick fricks?") he asks with obvciouse objection.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Well know a few, but you were talking magic, so was thinking more a couple of the crazy word slingers"

Kid has posed:
Kid nods o O ("Perhaps. Right now just on the lookout for a jounral. Evidently has something about 'stone magic' or some crap. But if you know em, glad to meet em") he stands o O ("Well seems there done here...best go before the cops start asking questions")

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and will offer Kid his card "If you need to get ahold of me, you can try there."

Kid has posed:
Kid accept the card and gives a nod o O ("Thanks") he puts it into his pocket and heads off...noteably avoiding the folks down below
