Synopsis: Megan begins teaching Nevada to dance. Lesson 1: It's a Rumba, not a Roomba.
Cast of Characters: Barghest, Pixie

Barghest has posed:
As the days went by, texts were exchanged between Nevada and Megan. There was a challenge issued about learning to dance, and it was time to accept it. A meeting spot was arranged and at the appointed evening hour Nevada came up to the entrance with his slow, measured, stiff way of walking. It's a cloudy night with a periodic brisk wind, the kind of night that promises rain but refuses to deliver until the most inconvenient time possible. He judges the building with a scrutinizing but unconcerned expression with his thumbs briefly hooking themselves in his pants pockets. Black jeans, sturdy boots, a red shirt, and an open black shirt overtop of that. A bit monochromatic, but it fits the environment.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn is here, and has been for a while in fact and ready to dance! It's a pretty cool club, three levels of underground weird---errr, fun! Fortunately it's a quiet night and not too busy/crowded, with pretty chill DJ music playing tonight. Ever the flashy dresser, Megan is here, wearing a pale pink shimmery dress that is flared at the hips, silver spandex shorts covering her upper legs and matching fingerless gloves covering her arms. A silver fringe belt and ankle ankle boots and pink headband complete her cutesy look.

"Hii Nev!" she calls and waves to him cheerfully, twirling out from the dance floor to greet him. "How you been? Good to see you!"

Barghest has posed:
"Whoa! I think you're the brightest person in the room." Nevada says as he spies and then comes close enough to Megan to talk without needing to shout. He's grinning in an easy, friendly way as he takes in the look she's sporting and then gestures to their surroundings, "I like it! Good counterpoint to all of the dark, rusty, and industrial."

"Thanks for meeting me, too. I made sure to take painkillers ahead of time." He says and somehow manages to sound cheerful about it. "So let's see if my back actually decides to listen to me for once. Buut....suppose I should still start simple. Salsa dancing is terribly appealing, but sadly out of my skill level I imagine."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles, iridescent wings fluttering and almost glowing in various shades of pink today as she approaches, "Awwwe are you sure this is a good idea? I feel really really bad that you have to take pain killers and stuff all the time. We can try a nice slow dance..I'll...I'll try to be gentle?" she smiles, "Well, Rumba is a nice slow dance, but pretty flexible too. Wanna give it a shit? Right now they're playing some slow, easy ballads so that's perfect!"

Barghest has posed:
"It's fine!" Nevada says in the way of famous last words, complete with a dismissing wobble-wave of his hand. "Really. I'm used to it giving me grief. It's high time I start making it do what I want for a change, I let pain disrupt enough. Besides, you make for an excellent motivator."

He looks over towards where the DJs are and clicks his tongue against his teeth. "I'm not sure what a Rhumba is, but I'm fairly certain it's not intended to clean floors or ferry cats around the house. So, let's do it! Sounds like an adventure. What do I gotta do?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles and shakes her head, "Silly! That's a Rhumba, short 'u', funny robot vacuum thingy! Not to be confused with a 'Rumba' dance." she smiles, dark eyes glittering with amusement as she offers him her hand, "Come on, let's find us a nice, quiet spot on the dance floor..There's a spot over there!"

Barghest has posed:
The floor is given a critical, judging look as Nevada sucks in a deep breath to the bottom of his lungs. It's just dancing, man. Just dancing. You're a monster who chats with death on the regular, suck it up. The interior pep talk reflects in a tight press of his lips before he lets out the air he was holding in a whoosh. "Ok. Lead on."

And he'll take the offered hand and let her do just that, following the pixie out onto the dance floor. "If I step on you by accident, please accept my apologies in advance."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles still, boy is she nervous tonight. Either nervous or just hyper. Heck, she's been known to be pretty darn hyper a lot of the time. "Don't worry about me, I'm pretty quick on my feet, and besides these boots are cute and tough too!" she smiles as she flashes her silver lace up ankle boots. "But I'm more concerned about you..I don't wanna...Scare you away or anything!"

She takes his hands, gently pulling him into a proper dancing frame, resting her right hand on his shoulder, left hand clasping his left gently but firmly and shifts his other hand to rest on her hip. Fortunately the Rumba isn't as close or intimate as salsa. "Alright, now to start with, just gently rock side to side..Like this!"

Barghest has posed:
"Me, scared?" Nevada says as he unconsciously straightens up his back to look taller. "Pfft, no. I'm not scared of dancing and I'm not scared of you." He flashes what he hopes is his most reassuring smile full of totally normal looking human teeth, even if dog ones are almost universally more appealing according to recent polls. "Now maybe if someone who didn't absolutely kill it at DDR was trying to teach me, then I may be mildly apprehensive."

He dutifully shuffles himself into the indicated dancing form and looks to each point with an actual attentiveness like he was trying to commit things to memory. "Rocking. Sounds like my type of intensity level." He jokes as he begins said rocking, taking a moment to adjust to the pace of the music.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smirks, wriggling her brows playfully at him. "Not afraid of me, hmm? Are you sure if that? I mean.l.Yeah, I'm pretty badass at DDR, think you can beat me?" she smiles, a gentler smile now as they rock slowly back and forth.

She nods as she continues to sway with a bit more grace and rhythm in her steps now, moving to the beat of music, "Dont go about it all cold and methodically like it's a complex math formula. That's the total opposite of what music's all about, you know? Just feel the rhythm in the music."

Of course they are playing a cheesy sappy Backstreet Boys song (I want it that way) which makes Megan giggle a bit. "Awe...Geez, this song.."

Barghest has posed:
"Nope!" Nevada merrily rolls right over at her challenge of DDR. "I know my lane. I will, however, promise to out-cheer anyone else's squad and look awesome when doing so."

He gives a faintly sheepish grin as she mentions just going with the music. "Mm, I usually just go with the flow. I just overthink when I'm trying to be serious." There's a quiet laugh as he picks up on the song about the same time as she does. "Digging in the vaults. I bet Andrea was all into this music when she was younger. I need to go raid her playlists now and find out."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn tilts her head, chuckling a bit as she quickens the pace a bit. "Oh yeah? Are you trying to be serious right now? Cuz it's totally cool to relax and have fun too, right?" she smiles, "Ahh, actually I kinda like this song, not as crazy as the others. Ooh, you're doing really well by the way...I knew you could dance!" she grins wickedly, "Ready for the next step?"

Barghest has posed:
"Well a *little* serious, yeah." Nevada says as he continues to manage a respectable sway, even with the occasional hitch as his lower back and hips catch and need a little extra effort to move. "I don't want to end up looking like a fool, which would make you look silly to be picking me off the floor, and I'm not gonna stand for that." Chivalry, from a half-demon?

"Wait..." He begins to say and gives her a most suspicious squint. "There's more than the swaying? Oh geez. Alright, this is where the break dancing starts, isn't it?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles, "Easy, relax. It's not like I'm gonna ask you to toss me in the air.." she grins and winks, "But then again I just might!" yeah, she's totally teasing him, isn't she? Still Megan doesn't move too quickly as she gently guides his steps to trace a slow box on the floor, it's a bit trickier to coordinate but Megan is patient and a good teacher..And hey, it helps that the music is slow and easy to follow the beat.

"No break dancing, this is a slow, almost romantic dance step. But one of the easier ones to learn. I can show you flashier moves once you get the basics down though..If you pay attention, the beat is..,Slow..Quick-Quick.."

Barghest has posed:
"Well if I have to toss anyone in the air, I'd rather it be someone who can fly." Nevada says quietly with a grin spreading on his face. "At least I'd feel marginally less guilty if they crashed. Marginally."

He moves along with the indicated steps, though the sharper turns take some clear concentration on his part to keep the movements reasonably fluid and not jerky-stilted. "It's like Nascar. Just keep turning in one direction. That's not so bad. And hey, I could totally break dance. I'd just make it rather literal and someone would need to spatula me off the floor."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smirks, "Moot point..Wonder if you really could though?" Ooh is that a challenge? Stilll maybe later. For now, she just lets him get used to tracing circles in the ground. "NASCAR?" she giggles, "Well I guess that's one way to look at it. Like you're running in circles, or...Squares, only it's nit fast or dizzying.." she smiles, "See? I knew you could do it!"

Barghest has posed:
"No idea, but maybe I'll find out one of these days." Nevada replies. "When I'm feeling significantly brave, or stupid, or both. It's a fine line depending on the day and the amount of sleep I've gotten. I'll keep the dare in mind, though." He adds on with a teasing wink.

He glances down to his own feet them as he continues his carefully placed geometric shuffle. "Yeah, this much I think I can do. It's slow enough that I can make sure I'm not going to trip myself or step on you. Fast will be where it'll be hard for me to keep up. I can run in a straight line, but acrobatics are murder."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles, "But really, you're doing fine! I knew you had it in you!" she beams, then pulls a fast one on him, suddenly twirling out, spinning, then twirling back in, still keeping in step. "You'll be ready in no time for Andrea's big concert!" she smiles.

Barghest has posed:
"Whoa." Murmurs Nevada as he watches her dance, the sudden blur of movement catching him enough by surprise that his hands are still mid-air in position. At least he doesn't move so she can settle back into place. "Okay... that was... awesome." A little awe-struck by the dance? Or was it her? He's not drooling, is he? He swallows hard once for good measure.

"Concert, yeah! Totally. I at least know I can shuffle in place without bringing shame to my family, so I'll consider that a win for now." It's his turn to step back then, and he does with the best bow he can manage, even if the bend is mid-back versus lower back and thus not as low and sweeping as he probably wishes. "Thank you, Lady Megan, for your lessons."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles, totally full of energy tonight it seems. (Heck, when is she ever not full of energy?) "The pleasure is all mine, Ser Nevada!" she imitates his bow with an elegant curtsy of her own. "I hope you learned something from today's lesson." she grins.
