Preparing for the Show
Date of Scene: 11 July 2020
Location: Second Floor, Xavier's School
Synopsis: Ali runs into Alice. The two make costume plans.
Cast of Characters: Dazzler, Red

Dazzler has posed:
It's a Saturday afternoon, an all is quiet in Xavier's School. Well, mostly. <Clack> <Clack> <Clack> <Clack> Is that the sound of rollerskates on hardwood? In the mansion? No, it's not coming from the student corridors, even.

There's a flash of multicolored light that approaches the landing from the staff wing. <Clackclackclackclackclack> Yes, someone is skating down the long, winding staircase.

Alison Blaire has been away from the school for a while, so her face might not be familiar to everyone. The blonde pop singer is wearing a faded Dazzler concert tee bunched up around her waist, Daisy Duke short-shorts, headphones blasting music, blonde hair in a ponytail. And yes, roller skates. Clearly in her own world for the moment, she skates down the stairs as effortlessly as most people would walk.

Red has posed:
Alice might not know Dazzler as a teacher or an X-men, but as a musician, she surely might strike a chord with the young woman that knows her movies like bedtime stories. But at the dashing star, the first reaction is jump upon a high spot on the hallway to get into safety.

"Hey! People walking here! I thought no flying and no vehicles in the hallways!" she protests.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler honestly didn't see Alice, not at first. The sounds of guitar rock blare out even with the headphones on... is she listening to Boston?... and there's a slowly-swirling array of rainbow-hued bubble images orbiting her.

With a gasp of surprise her eyes go suddenly wide and she has to grab Alice by the shoulders to keep from hitting the girl. Yeah, she's skating pretty fast. Instinct kicks in and the pair are wrapped in a prismatic construct like a padded blanket an instant before they roll together down the rest of the stairs. Unharmed.

Red has posed:
Alice screaches up as she is thrown off her feet and dragged down the stairs with Dazzler, joined by that desk she had tried to take shelter on. And instead of the two, it seems to take the brunt of the fall, ending somewhat worse for wear. "OUCH! Eyes on the here if you already try to commit suicide by stairs, ok?" she asks as she rubs a spot she hit said table, wincing some.

Dazzler has posed:
Ever the heroine, Dazzler lands on her back inside the construct wrapping the pair (along with the desk), trying to use herself as an additional cushion. "Oh shit, I'm so sorry." she replies. The prismatic construct drops and she begins to carefully untangle herself from the crash site.

"I'm a really good skater, but I must've been distracted." she replies, taking note of the redhead as if for the first time now. "You're a little old for a student, aren't you? I'm Alison Blaire, but please call me Ali and not 'Miss Blaire'."

Red has posed:
"I'm with the college program, thank you." Alice notes with a little wince while she tries to not get into some compromising situation like one would expect from an anime. This was the real world after all and that trope of toppling down a girl into a kiss was a) overused and b) only worked for boys and was c) totally inappropriate!

"Alice Thompson. Like the Chicago Typewriter or M1A1. The one you see in all the good gangster films and early war movies. Though I can't say I am related closely to that Thompson. Blaire... Wait a minute, Alison 'Dazzler' Blaire like, soundtrack to... what was the name of that movie... that Techno trance thingy..."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler works herself into sitting position, long legs parted enough for Alice to make a graceful separation as she leans back onto her hands. She switches off the music with a sheepish smile. "Yeah, that's me. The one and only..." Pointing towards the ceiling, a multi-colored starburst goes off that lights up the whole foyer with her signature 'DAZZLER' logo.

"And apparently I'll be making a comeback tour as well, but you didn't hear that from me. I can talk to Andrea about getting you comp tickets, if you want. At least if you promise not to file assault charges." Wink. "And I learned to type on a Thompson, so I get it." One knee raises and she leans forward a bit, getting one skate under her and shifting her weight onto it so that she can stand.

"So what're you studying, Alice?"

Red has posed:
"You learned to type on a submachine gun? Well, at least there's only one key to press." Alice remarks with a little chuckle as she works her way up to her feet, sighing a moment as she spots that she ripped her blouse in the fall. "Well, that can be fixed..." she mutters nodding at Ali.

"Well, Dr. McCoy suggested chemistry, but It's like my first semester and all and now in summer classes... Anyway." She eyes the ripped seam, staring at it as she smoothes the edges together, and some moments later there is nothing to be seen there anymore. Because she molded the ripped apart fibers together again. "Better."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler's gaze drops a little as she rises, definitely noticing the rip as well. She chuckles at the repair job, reaching out to lightly brush the mended fabric with her fingertips. "That was really cool." she offers. "And just like new." Ali's gaze shifts back up to Alice's eyes, then.

"I suppose that answers the question about mutant powers, doesn't it? And I wouldn't get hung up too much over making detailed plans for your future. I'm still sorting mine out."

"Machine gun, ray gun, even finger guns. Don't let the pop star image fool you. I learned to fight the hard way." Dazzler considers for a moment. "Can you -make- clothes? And what're your thoughts on fashion?"

Red has posed:
"Not like new. Like new is a repair. It is practically new." Alice notes with a little chuckle, offering Alison a hand to help her up. "Maybe it answers a little about them. But it's not fabric, so far I give easily. But as far as future plans... nope, not got any. Would have been content to work in the little costume shop I had till Kitty threw me a scholarship."

"I can make clothes, but I ain't gonna use any sewing needles. I got my movie fashion down and if you wanna cosplay... gimmie a picture and I got you armed with whatever you need."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler accepts the hand up and lifts a blonde brow when she looks Alice right in the eye. On skates. "Well there's a reason I'm asking. I'm serious about the whole comeback thing, or at least Andrea is. I'll be opening for her on tour as sort of a surprise guest."

"I hadn't even thought about a costume until just now, but the white jumpsuit with the wide lapels and plunging neckline is probably a bit cliche. I'd really be interested in your ideas if you'd be interested in... freshening it up a bit."

"You're tall." she adds.

Red has posed:
"You ain't the king, so nope, you ain't gonna take tons of bling on a white suit on my watch. What you have thought about? Seifuku? One of these catsuits? Or you wanna go K-pop style? Or... how about klingon mask and armor and go for Lordi? No, that isn't your style at all..." Alice ponders as she goes through some costumes. "I'm not 'that' tall..."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler laughs softly at some of the suggestions. "K-pop? Ohgodno." she replies. Then she looks thoughtful for a moment. "You familiar with Andrea's shows? Since I'm opening for her, it's only polite to at least lean in the same fashion direction."

The blonde tilts her head, then, with a playful smile. "So no Elvis suits? Not even cut down to..." She drops a fingertip close to her navel, then wrinkles her nose and chuckles again. "I think Andra's fans are too young for that."

Red has posed:
"not really, but if you get me some photos I might manage. Or we go and rip of some good old Bond. I mean, some of the dresses in those movies are totally impractical and showworthy." Alice responds, eying Dazzler at the note of deep cut suit. "Hmmm... nah, if at all, I'd demand you to wear a rainbow and mother of pearl one or many many feathers. Not bling on white. And Maybe round glasses."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler smirks, tilting her head gradually more as mother of pearl leads to feathers and sunglasss. "And you don't want to do Elvis." she quips back. "I'll talk with Andrea about her costumes, but I like the Bond-girl idea. Let me get back to you on that, alright?"

Red has posed:
"Sure! Just drop a note in my locker or at my dorm room. Or try to hit me up at the lab if I have a class with the Librarian..." Yes, Alice just compared Henry with an Orang Outan from a book series. "...or try to find me anywhere."
