Train spotting
Date of Scene: 13 July 2020
Location: Manhattan Subway Station
Synopsis: Grant now knows about vampires and we all know what percentage of the battle that is
Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Aguila 6

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
It is late Sunday evening in the New York Subway system, The last of the routes are about to run and it is inevitably time for that one guy to frantically catch the last train before he's stuck where he's left behind. But with it being Sunday, perhaps that chance won't occur. There's no persons running down the steps, no frantic 'Oh man oh mans' being uttered. Just a couple of darkly dressed men, hands tucked in their pockets as they calmly wait for the train. They also appear to be quite sober so the chances of them being left behind is slim to none.

Aguila 6 has posed:
There's another person in the subway, a man exiting the restroom. It's Grant Washington, mercenary captain. And he's wearing a suit. He heads down the stairs towards the train so he can find his way aboard one. Of course, it's time to wait. The soldier leans up against one of the pillars in the hall, pulling a cell phone out of his pocket to check the time.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Grant has impeccable timing as he reaches the platform level. One of the men waiting glances over to him momentarily but look away once Grant has settled nearby, but not right on top of him. There is not much of a wait after that as the rumble from down the tumble announces another train's arrival.

Flashes of gray and black make for a visual treat as the station light bounces the cars and gaps between, eventually settling on the grey as the cars settle to a stop. There is a pause before the doors hiss open, granting the trio access to the empty car.

The two men step on.

Aguila 6 has posed:
When the train pulls to a stop and its doors open, Grant takes a step inside the car, looking around momentarily as he grabs a pole to maintain his stability for when the vehicle starts moving. The other people aboard the train are glanced at, given a once over, as the mercenary prepares himself for the ride.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the other two passengers on and settled to their respective seats, the continued agreement of silence lives on, leaving the train to be the only talkative one. Rumble... rumble... rumble... The lights in the car flicker as they go into the tunnel. Another blur of light from a non adjacent platform lights up the car once more before the train goes into a tunnel. Lights flickering off once more. Then on, then off, rapidly repeating.

The rest of the scene is a bit like a film project gone horribly wrong. With the flicker of light, a strobe light effect provides Grant with all the information needed. Both men in the car rushing towards him at speeds that are not normal for a regular person. But then again, the now deformed appearances of their faces, pointed teeth exposed, is probably even more of an indicator that these are not normal people.

Aguila 6 has posed:
This was unexpected. Grant moves to try to intercept the attackers, trying to stop the first in his steps with a powerful front kick, the soldier of fortune using skill and cybernetic speed and strength to try to deliver a mighty blow. Even as he attacks he prepares for the second to get through, lifting his hands to protect his face. "You two aren't going to live to regret this mistake."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the force of the kick for the first creature, he is sent flying back in the car, landing on the floor with a snarl.

As the second figure lurches towards Grant, a shower of ash ends up bathing the Mercenary. The sound of wood clanking upon metal pairs with the noise as a drumstick lands on the car floor, rolling towards Grant's feet.

There is a pause as the first creature looks to where his friend used to be and then accusingly to Grant. "YOU F-" Snarling, he hops to his feet, running at Grant once more.

Aguila 6 has posed:
"What the hell are you?" Grant asks, dusting himself off for a second as he watches the remaining attacker get up and charge. As the creature charges at him the mercenary moves to grab him by the lapels, aiming to toss him to the floor with a hip throw. Should he be successful then he'll start repeatedly punching the other being in the face, a ground and pound.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The creature snarls as his fangs are very much barred at Grant. Expression twisted beyond the grotesque. It's not a pleasant sight and with Grant's strength and training, its not one he has to deal with for long as the creature ends up getting tossed again.

The creature starts shoving against Grant, displaying an impressive amount of strength on his part as well.

"Vampire!" A voice from an unseen source snaps at Grant, "Either stake him or get out of the way!"

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Stake him?" The drum stick quickly comes to mind. Grant gets off of his opponent long enough to grab the bit of wood off of the ground. Holding it small end down in an ice pick grip, the warrior prepares to jam it through the monster's heart. Darting back in he tries to drive the improvised weapon home, eager to see how it ends up working out.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the amount of force behind Grant's jamming motion both from his particular conditioning and the sheer motivation right now, the rounded tip of the drumstick doesn't interfere much with the intent.

The vampire's hand grabs at Grant's head but prior to a sufficient grip to pull the merc's neck closer-

*Pwooosh!*

Grant is rewarded with his jamming motion and body smacking to the floor of the subway. Face coming into contact with the ashy remnants of his adversary.

"Oh good! It worked for you."

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Yeah, worked okay," Grant says as he starts to push himself up to his feet, shaking his head and beginning to dust himself off, looking around for the source of the voice. "So those were vampires, huh? They're pretty strong, fast, too." The mercenary takes a seat on one of the benches, looking down at the drum stick in his hand. "Thank you for the assist."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"They're also opportunists and looking for an easy meal." The unseen figure says, the stick lifting out of Grant's hand momentarily, spinning around in air as something slices the tip in an effort to sharpen it quickly before the stick rests back in Grant's hands. "Somehow don't think that'll be you. Now that you know. Enjoy the rest of your commute."

Aguila 6 has posed:
Eyeing the now sharpened drum stick Grant starts smiling, "I'll make sure to off any more that I run across." Or offer them a job. "I'm guessing whoever you are you'll be okay out there yourself."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
There's a slight chuckle that is barely heard as the train starts to slow towards a stop, the lights starting to stablize as they enter the station. "Yeah, I'll do okay." As the door opens, there's no more sound coming from the car. Whether the person left or not is up in the air. But the interaction is apparently over.
