Synopsis: Jay and Andrea share music together and make plans for the future.
Cast of Characters: Icarus, Rage

Icarus has posed:
Jay is at home, sitting on the couch, tablet in hand as he read through the news releases. He goes to various people who have reviewed the samples that Andrea had made available.

He is smiling to himself. Earbuds are in, some of her music playing even as he's reading about her.

He had no work tonight. No gigs. Nothing he needed to be doing outside of being home with her. He had bought some Thai food, sitting in boxes waiting for her to come home.

Rage has posed:
The door opens to reveal Andrea as she heads inside. She locks the door behind her as she goes, then lets out a loud groan. "I couldn't just have /one/ day to go right for me!" She lobs her purse to the side, then peels out o fher hoodie to reveal a pink shirt beneath it.

"I was meeting Alexis at the park to hang out for a bit and some whacky homeless nut job came over, ranting about mutants and how we're all sinners and he put a full round of ammo into Alexis's gut. Thank God her powers kicked in. I nearly tore that guy's head off in plain view of the entire world."

Flopping down next to him, she leans over to place her head on his shoulder. "Wolfie needs love." She says with a huff.

Icarus has posed:
As soon as she enters, he glances to the door with a smile. That smile fades as she explains what happened. "When you were taking a break from your promotional stuff? That's insane. She's okay you said?" It's a lucky thing she's that resistant to damage.

As she comes his way, he opens his arm to welcome her, cuddling her in close. Her kisses her briefly then shakes his head. "It's good you resisted tearing his head off. That would have been difficult to spin, but really it was self defense. I'm just glad you're alright as well."

Rage has posed:
"I was able to disarm him at least after I called the cops. No one got hurt. Was just .. frustrating." Andrea says as she tucks herself into his arms, returning the kiss to him. "But, other than that it was a great day. All the interviews went well, critics are saying good things. People are talking about it online and I'm trending. I've only seen three death threats so far so that's like .. way better than last time around. At least no one is bringing up Mason for a change."

Kicking her shoes off, she wiggles out of her socks, then pulls her feet up on the couch. "He's lucky I was in a good mood." She grumbles to herself wolfishly. "I'm just glad to be here with you, where I am definitely going to ruin your clothes and make a night of it."

Propping her chin on his chest, she stares at him, giving him a long look. "How was your day babe?"

Icarus has posed:
"Boring. Nothing going on for me. I was off all day from everything. Club, no gigs. Band and I agreed to take the day off. I wanted to be here for you when you got home. I knew you'd be tired."

Jay motioned toward the kitchen. "I got us Thai for dinner. Thought if you were like normal, you might've forgotten to eat cause you were so busy with all the interviews for your promotional stuff."

Rage has posed:
There's a rumble in Andrea's stomach at the mention of food. She sighs heavily and circles her arms around his neck. "Fiiiine. You know me so well. I'm starving." Licking her lips, she leans in to give him another kiss, raking her fingers through his hair before she climbs off the couch and plods to the kitchen.

"You could have gone with me on my rounds. I would have shown you off and told everyone about how amazing you are and how much I loooooove you." She calls over her shoulder. "And then I'd chase the girls off who would try and slip into your DM's. Ruff."

Icarus has posed:
That gets a laugh from Jay as he continues to cuddle her close. "You are so silly. You don't have to worry about anyone slipping into my anything, except for you, baby."

He does follow her to the kitchen, beginning to get out plates so he can dish out their food. Drinks will be next. "Besides, it was your time to shine. You didn't need me there to take the interest off you with a million questions. Keep it focused on you and your music." His eyes twinkle with amusement. "For now."

Rage has posed:
Smirking, Andrea sends a swat to his backside. "Hey, I'd love for a change to be a million questions not about me. It's like five question about my music, followed by a million questions about everything else. But, I did get to talk about you for a bit!" She says in a teasing manner as she prances past him in the kitchen.

Opening the fridge, she roots through it to find some bottles of water. She puts one on the table for him, then goes about setting the table so they can sit side by side. She watches him fetch the food with a grin, propping her chin up in the palm of her hand. "I really, really want to record a song with you proper."

Icarus has posed:
"You talked about me? Oh dear. What did you say? Should I be concerned? Or start blushing now?" Jay asks in a joking tone. Once the dishes are prepared, he brings the plates to the table and sets them out. Back to the kitchen for utensils and napkins then in to sit down for dinner next to her.

"You sure about recording with me? You know I'll sing with you anytime you like. Just say the word."

Rage has posed:
"You'll see tomorrow when Rolling Stone posts the video." Andrea hums to him playfully bounces a bit in her seat as she waits for him to return. "But I said cute, adorable things about you that will make you and your family blush." She says as her eyes sparkle wolfishly to him.

"And you know that I want to record with you. I'm your biggest fangirl. I would freak out to have the chance to be in the studio with you, vibing. I think we would not only put out a huge single, but I think it'd be the most romantic thing we can do together."

Icarus has posed:
"Even if we did a cover of something by Black Sabbeth? Most romantic thing ever?" Jay teases as he takes his seat next to her, reaching over to take her hand. "Seriously, I'd love to do something with you. Recorded, not recorded. Whatever. As long as it's us, that's the important part.

He squeezes her hand then nods to the food. "I can say grace this time." And unless she protested, he would do just that. Once the prayer was over, then he would give her a big grin.

"I do have a little surprise for you though. When you are up for it."

Rage has posed:
Praying. Andrea remembers at one point in her life when she used to be religious. She remembers almost becoming a Christian recording artist. Though she may not have been very vocal on her new found aetheism, she respects Jay enough to never protest. She closes her eyes and bows her head through the prayer. Once they say 'Ahem', she opens her eyes and smiles.

"Really? You have a surprise for me?" She asks curiously as she tucks into her food hungrily. "Is it the kind that involves that funky underwear we saw at Spencer's the other day? Did you get the Rooster?" She asks, eyes widening.

Icarus has posed:
Jay starts to open his mouth when she asks about the surprise but when she rapid fires the other questions, his mouth closes as he begins to turn pink around the edges from the blush. "I..No, Andrea! Just no. I did not get those things. I cannot believe you wanted me to get them. And they better Not show up in a Christmas present." Then he pauses. "Or birthday. Or any other holiday like Arbor day. Or for the heck of it!"

He tries to refocus, completed scattered by that response and having literally forgotten what he was originally saying. "Oh! I finished a song. I was hoping to sing it for you later, see what you think."

Rage has posed:
"But they were so /cute/, Jay! Come on, I bought that see through number that /you/ adore." Andrea says with a smug look on her face, propping her chin up in the palm of her hand. Her other hand tip toes along his arm, giving him a grin.

"You finished a song?" That gets her attention far more than Rooster themed underwear. She perks up some, straightening. "I want to hear it, obviously."

Icarus has posed:
"Yes, I adore that see through number. It looks beautiful...on the bedroom floor," Jay says with a naughty grin, leaning over to steal a kiss. Course, his lips taste like Thai food at the moment.

Once he leans back again, he gives a nod. "I mean I finish songs sometimes but this one is special. I really can't wait for you to hear it. Well, I can wait. Obviously. After dinner?"

Rage has posed:
Smirking, Andrea returns the kiss to him, followed by a nip to his bottom lip as she leans back. She even gives him a wolfish grin. "Well, maybe I'll wear it tonight for you." She says as she takes another stab at the food with her fork. The idea of him singing to her is exciting and it shows in how big her grin is.

"After dinner then. I can't wait to hear it. I'll pretend we're at a concert. I'll freak out and start crying and throw my shirt at you and beg you to marry me."

Icarus has posed:
That gets a roll of the eyes. "Maybe just listen and tell me if you think it's any good. We'll save throwing clothes for later, when you put on the lingerie." A playful wink then he goes back to eating his green curry chicken fried rice.

Rage has posed:
"Hmf. But one could lead to the other." Andrea says as she takes a bigger scoop of food into her mouth, chewing, then swallowing quickly. It doesn't take too long for her to wolf down the rest of her plate, and she picks it up and heads to deposit it in the dish washer after rinsing off.

"I'm so excited to hear this." She calls over. "I'm /really/ excited. I know you don't 'get it', but when I hear you sing, I just get .. like a rush. It's like you put me under a spell. I can listen to you sing all day if I could. Just play one album after the other."

Icarus has posed:
"I ...guess I understand that. I feel that way when you are singing. Seeing you on sitting in the living room, working through a tune in your head? It's like magic. On stage? You're a goddess giving us all a momentary glimpse of your radiance." Jay gets up as well, following suit with rinsing his dishes and putting them in the washer. Then he goes to make sure leftovers are put away and empty containers are in the trash. Once the counters are wiped, then he heads for the living room.

He does take a momentary tangent off the the bedroom, only to come back to the couch with his acoustic guitar in hand. Then he settles in, fingers strumming to be sure all is in tune.

Once she is settled, he'll start singing. The song makes use of his range, allowing falsetto for parts and others his chest voice. It is slightly higher than he usually sings but he doesn't fail any notes, thanks to his powers most likely.

"Take your time, I'll be right here
I know no one could ever love me better
Take all night, you're the truth that is breaking me
And keeping me together, together

I wanna be in your touch
Sleep is so tough, you're burning up my mind
What would it feel like if you tore me apart?
Come on, chew on my heart
Come on, chew on my heart."

Rage has posed:
"Okay, you are really pouring it on thick, I am /no where/ near a Goddess on stage." Andrea says with a wide grin over to him, though she does relish in the flattery. Coming from home is the best type of feedback she can receive. Once she settles on the couch, she hugs a pillow to her chest to listen to him.

As he starts, her smile widens, looking much like a giddy fan girl, one who is sickingly in love with her idol. The lyrics cause her to blush a bit as she sways on the couch, sighing happily. She keeps her eyes focused on him, spell bound by his vocal majesty.

Icarus has posed:
He repeated the chorus again then went on to the second verse.

"I'm on fire. I'm a hot mess.
I'm thinking that that I might start regretting.
So hear me out, I need you now.
I'm spiralling, I'm sinking down.
Look for me, I'm sending up a message
A message

I wanna be in your touch.
Sleep is so tough, you're burning up my mind
What would it feel like if you tore me apart?
Come on, chew on my heart
Come on, chew on my heart

I wanna be in your touch.
Sleep is so tough, you're burning up my mind
What would it feel like if you tore me apart?
Come on, chew on my heart
Come on, chew on my heart

(Ooh, ooh)
Tear me apart
(Ooh, ooh)
Tear me apart."

Another repeat of the chorus and he finished on a series of Ooh Oohs.

As his voice faded and the he touched the strings on the guitar to end their notes, he looked to her with almost a sheepish, hopeful expression.

Rage has posed:
Looking as if she was spell bound, Andrea lets out a low sigh by the time he ends his song. She has a goofy expression on her face, love sick. She drops the pillow from her chest, biting on her bottom lip. Clearing her throat, she brushes her hair away from her face, then gives him a grin.

".. I am going to do terrible things to you tonight, baby." She rumbles to him wolfishly, followed by a giggle. "Damn, Jay. Just.. wow. I'm seriously freaking out right now. You are amazing. You should be the famous one up there on stage with millions of fans. I'm not even in your league."

Icarus has posed:
At the threat of what she will be doing later, Jay has to laugh. He sets aside the guitar and joins her on the couch as she continues.

"Nah, your songs are a hundred times better than mine. I try though. Put my heart in them. I know it's kind of a strange lyric but it was fitting with us. It was a metahaphor for wanting and craving more than the norm but ties in well with who and what we are."

He sits and pulls her over to snuggle, if she's willing. "Remember though, I cheat. You do the hard work, having to sing and keep her air while dancing and moving around the stage under hot lights. I just think I can sing the notes and I can, regardless. It's not really fair."

Rage has posed:
Climbing into his lap, Andrea's legs settle over either side of his lap as she curls her arms around his neck. "Jay, my songs are not better than yours. I'm serious. You make this look so easy where I'm up all night sobbing because I can't make something work. I have a team to help me tweak things, followed by hudrends of hours in a studio, where you simply pick up a guitar and you sing your guts out and it moves me to tears. You're so much better than me. You're incredible. Can you please just let me win this argument for once? It's not a competition to me. I'm telling you from the bottom of my heart, as a professional, as your girl .. you are incredible and you could be a global superstar."

Her fingers brush through his hair, pushing it back gently as she stares down into his eyes. "I want to sign you to the label. Put you in the studio. Let my team work with you. Please, pretty please? Record this one. Record the last one. Record the last twenty you've sang to me in the living room. Don't let more time go by where the world doesn't know your name."

Icarus has posed:
"Baby, I...I don't know that I'm strong enough to do what you do. To have that level of fame," Jay admits softly, brushing her hair back from her forehead and tucking the lock behind her ear.

"I mean I am getting my music out there but if you want me to, I'll record. And it isn't that easy for me. Takes me time to work through things, get the right words with the right chords. It's why it's a big deal when I finish one."

Rage has posed:
"I wasn't always this strong either, Jay." Andrea says as she pushes herself off his lap after pressing her mouth to his for a kiss. "It just took a push for me to get through the nervous hurdles. But at the end of the day, when I'm on stage, it's just an act. It's a job. I dance, I sing, I bask in the glory, then I come home to you and put sweat pants on and eat Thai food. Just start with one song, then see where it goes, okay? I don't want to push you to do something you don't /want/ to do, but I just feel that .. all you need is that one song. That /one/ song and your life changes forever. I just want to be that girl in the crowd at your concert, screaming for you, watching you look like a rockstar as you control the stage. Just for a change not be the celebrity girlfriend. I want to just be a fan."

As she moves, she sways side to side, giving a few twirls on her feet before she reaches over to tap the speaker dock on, then takes her phone out to connect it. She scrolls through the playlist of her new album, then taps it as her track, 'Power' comes on. It's a slow burn hip-hop track, the last song she wrote about 'him'. The song she needed to get out to move on from him.

Icarus has posed:
"You already do that," Jay teases her but he understands and hugs her. "Alright. Do you think this is that one song? Or you want to use something else of mine? Or is it easier to use something by someone known, like one of yours?"

Whens he reaches for the dock, he waits. Sometimes it is something he knows, sometimes it's a surprise. Even he hasn't heard all the new songs from this album yet.

Rage has posed:
"I honestly think that this song, or the one that you finished for me last year.  Gone To Soon."  Andrea says with confidence as she sways about to the song before she turns to face him.  As she moves, it's as if she would be on stage during one of her concerts.  There is no fancy dance moves for this particular track. It's designed to have an impact.  Her voice rings out beautifully with a sultry tone to it.  A song of moving on, of overcoming a deep pain.

"Painted to pure perfection
We had a real connection
Bodies, aching, overtaken

You kept me at a distance,
Not asking any questions
Fingers, Pressing
Learning, lessons

Beautiful lies on a Friday night
Starting to wonder where we lost the magic
Head in the clouds, talking so loud, all I hear is static
I'm not a material girl, everything in your world just feels like plastic,
Wearing your crown, it's pulling me down
You just want the power, you're not really down for love
You just want the power

The power

No I'm not chasing paper and I'm not faking neither
Take me higher or this will expire
Your self obsessions boring, sorry if I'm ignoring
Mindless actions lead to destruction

Beautiful lies on a Friday night
Starting to wonder where we lost the magic
Head in the clouds, talking so loud, all I hear is static
I'm not a material girl, everything in your world just feels like plastic,
Wearing your crown, it's pulling me down
You just want the power, you're not really down for love
You just want the power

Everything you do is so cruel
Taking me for a fool
Making me need a new fix
Making me worship you
Everything you do is so cruel
Taking me for a fool
Making me need a new fix
Making me worship you

Beautiful lies on a Friday night
Starting to wonder where we lost the magic
Head in the clouds, talking so loud, all I hear is static
I'm not a material girl, everything in your world just feels like plastic,
Wearing your crown, it's pulling me down
You just want the power, you're not really down for love
You just want the power."

It's no wonder who this song is about.  The last one.  The one she should have written years ago.  A sequel to the single that started it all.  Once she finishes, she reaches for a bottle of water and takes a sip, staring at him with her dark eyes, lips twitching some with a bit of pride behind it.

Icarus has posed:
As always when she sings, Jay is drawn in. The power of her voice, the tone, the beauty of it. She truly has a gift of her own, without the crutch of her voice being perfect at all times due to mutancy. She just hits those notes. She can even hold them for days if she wants, or so it seems to thsoe watching her.

It's an emotional song despite the upbeat sound to it. He listens carefully, picking up all the lyrics, drawing them into his mind and analyzing them even as he simply loves her performance.

When she is done, he lets out a very low whistle of appreciate. "Andrea, you've outdone yourself. That is pure power about having moved on. I love it and I'm so proud of you for putting it out there."

Rage has posed:
Sliding on to the couch next to him, Andrea tucks herself in and leans in to brush her lips against his neck. "It was a hard one to write. But, that's like slamming the book closed on that chapter. I didn't want you to hear it for a long time. Wasn't sure if you'd get upset." She slides one hand through the back of his red hair while the other settles around his waist. "I'm glad you like it though. I don't plan on making a video on it or releasing it as a single. I guess it depends on how marketing feels. I really want to focus on the upbeat stuff that reflects how I currently feel."

She sneaks in another kiss to his ear, then rests her head on his shoulder as she stares out across the window and into the beautiful canopy of New York from their condo. "So, you'll record a song then? I can make you all famous and stuff with a thousand girls smashing the like button on your Insta and screaming about how they wanna marry you?"

Icarus has posed:
He shakes his head. "It is part of your history. /He/ is. But it is history. The past. It helped mold you into the person you are today. We both have that. She is always a part of my past. You are my present and future though." He touches her cheek and gives her a kiss filled with all the love he felt for her.

When she settled in, he stroked her arm gently. Until she made her suggestion which had him laughing. "I don't know about that. Maybe let's just start with one song and go forward from there. You choose. You have heard all my finished ones. That one from last year about me closing the door on my past or go with this one that is all about embracing my future." He hugged her, emphasizing the embrace.

Rage has posed:
"If you're making me choose, you're wearing those Rooster undies that I maaay have already bought them earlier today and snuck them in your dresser." Andrea says after returning the kiss to him. "I want you to pick a song that you feel is the most meangingful to you. A song that you think people can connect with. I know I can pick any song out of your closet and think it's amazing, but if we're recording /your/ song, it should be one that you pick and then finish with. Start to end."

"So, you don't gotta pick it right now. I have my favorites of course, but I don't think you can go wrong with any that you come up with." She tilts her head again to tease another kiss against his jawline.

"All I know is that at the end of all of this, I want to marry you, have a couple of kids, start a family band and go on tour across the US."

Icarus has posed:
"Just promise that there will be no Partridge Family. Wait. No Hansons either. As much fun as that one-hit-wonder they did, I would really prefer not to do the hair styles. Just was scary sad." He gives sagenod as he settles in cuddling, completely happy with this moment.

"The rest of it sounds great though. Married. Kids. Touring. Although Ma will be upset she isn't allowed to dote on them endlessly."

Rage has posed:
"First of all, I can make an argument as to why Hanson is one of the greatest bands of all time, and second, what was wrong with the Patridge family?" Andrea says with a grin as she gives him an amused grin along her face. "Speaking of, why don't we take a long weekend back home to Kentucky? We can do a Thursday through Monday thing and stay with the family. I want to hit up your own town and explore a bit."

She brushes her fingers along the front of his shirt, plucking at it gently. "Also, we can hang out on the deck if you want. We can turn the firepit on and listen to the city. I love watching the traffic down below for some reason."
