Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
A lot can happen in seventeen years. For some it's a migration from being a nobody to being well known. And yet for others.

Other than growing old. Things still seem the same. Ryan Anderson would be of the latter group. He spent most of his life in Gotham. His whole career was in Gotham and he did moderately well. But GCPD is a TIRING place to work. The caseload is neverending and no matter how many hours you put in. There are going to be the cases that don't settle the way you want. Eventually it gets to be too much.

Now retired, Anderson doesn't have to put in the hours. He can sleep in if he wants. If he can. But- yeah.

Small brown bag in hand, the balding, slightly beer gutted retiree sighs as he reaches the front door to the disaster he calls an apartment. It's just a studio with what barely qualifies as a kitchen thanks to a microwave which takes up most of the countertop. The only pictures on the wall are him with his coworkers. A few old photos of what might be his parents and siblings, but save for a framed drawing of questionable quality, no sign of a child presence ever in this man's life. Or money for that matter.

Punisher has posed:
Tonight, Anderson is getting a blast from the past in a most unexpected manner. With a Remington 870 loaded with beanbag shells and a Beretta with stun rounds, The Punisher waits just behind the door, in full Punisher regalia.

Once the door begins to open, the Punisher crosses his arms as the door closes. "Hello, Anderson." The Punisher grates out, "we need to have a talk."

The Punisher is NOT aiming a gun at the man... but at this close range? He can easily take down the man if he wanted to... so he keeps it casual.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Not expecting the voice to greet him when the door to his apartment closed, the elder man's body spins...letting go of the bag to reach for his waist while looking to see who is there. Two things prevent him from drawing his gun. One, Frank's not exactly pointing the gun at him and two... It seems despite Ryan's first movement. There's no gun there. Considering the initial reaction, that's probably why.

"U-huh?" He steps back, holding up his hands, "I don't know why you're here but I think you got the wrong Anderson." He casts a slight glance to the brown bag on the floor. "I haven't done anything to warrant the visit." Really. Honest it is.

Punisher has posed:
"If you fit the Code, you would be dead already." The Punisher notes, bluntly. "I haven't found anything to suggest you are trash to be cleaned up." Punisher continues as he walks into the place, "Your place is a shithole, but you aren't shit yourself. You have nothing to fear from me."

Punisher gestures to a couch, "Sit down. We need to discuss history."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Anderson seems to relax just in the slightest at the confirmation that he's not on the 'to kill' list but a matter of extreme importance comes to mind. "Alright with me grabbing the bag and a glass? If you're the one asking questions. I think I'm going to need it."

Punisher has posed:
"If you want to drink yourself to death, that's your business." Punisher grates out as he takes a chair, twists it around in front of himself, and plops down in it, his arms sitting on top of the back of it. "Tell me about Drago."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
At the quasi permission, Anderson reaches down grabbing the bag and walking over to the 'kitchen'. "Better than getting shot to death." He states in response, reaching over to the cabinet before thinking twice about it, and instead turns, grabbing one drying on a towel near the sink. At the mention of the name, he pauses, looking to the wall above the sink. "...The housekeeper's son?"

Punisher has posed:
"That's the one. The files on the matter are barebones to the point of ridiculousness. I'm hoping you can fill in the context." Punisher grunts, "It was a long time ago... but I have no time limit, and everything about the case screamed fed involvement."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The glass sets back down on the towel and the bag is set beside it. "I remember him." Andersen admits. Stepping away from the counter, drink forgotten as he shuffles over towards a closet. "Very quiet. Sheltered. Wasn't getting much out of him that day so figured we give him a day to get his head around what happened and try again."

He opens the closet door slowly, not really wishing to find out what type of rounds Frank is using tonight. To one side, a small cluster of shirts hanging up. A larger pile on the floor. To the other side, a very narrow bookshelf. He crouches down, running a finger along the spines.

"But by the next day we were taken off of it. Jurisdictional overlap or some bullshit like that."

Punisher has posed:
"That explains a couple things. What sort of Jurisdictional overlap? Who, specifically, ordered it?" Punisher pressed.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
A finger rests upon one thin book, tapping on it slightly in thought, thinking back. "Schwizer? Schwizman?"

He tugs out the book turning around with it in hand, revealing it to be a worn notebook with plenty of scrawlings on it as he flips through the pages. Skimming the top. Halfway through he stops. "Schwizer. DEA." He finishes. "They took most everything but didn't factor in for copies."

He sighs, "One good thing came out of it though. Seems some strings were pulled to keep the kid away from the father."

Punisher has posed:
"Good to know." Punisher nods. "Strings were pulled? How would you know? Why does it matter?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"We get a HIGH amount of kids losing parents in this city." Anderson repeats, "I've been to my share of custody hearings. The biological parent almost always wins. And heresay is not enough to swing things the other way. And all we got with Savio was whispers and rumors. The father lost custody rights. SOMETHING was pulled."

Punisher has posed:
"Everything official says the guy is a restaurant owner with some minor reports. Anything you can tell me about him on your end? I'd imagine you checked him out." Punisher asks.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"I did. He may not have gotten custody but he also lives in the same city as the aunt." Anderson replies, looking to the note book before offering it over to Frank. "If anyone asks, you stole that. Because there's no way I'd help someone like you...normally."

"For one, Eileen didn't have a limp before she moved to Gotham with her son. And the rumors hint to him being involved with drugs and having pull with some LEOs in New York." He partially bites out the last part. Frowning... "Kid went through hell. But nothing actually pulled up on Savio."

Punisher has posed:
Taking the book and flipping through it, Punisher frowns slightly. "I'm getting out the camera, scan this shit and sort it for me." Punisher says out loud as he reaches into one of his utility pouches on his gear web, pulling out a sleek, thin looking portable camera. He begins to scan over the book with it as he flips pages. On the other end of the commlink, Microchip replies, "On it, Frank."

"Was it a cover up, or just nothing panned out? You give me the impression of someone relieved she got custody. That tells me you think he was shit." Punisher pressed.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Anderson watches as Punisher makes copies rather than taking the book. Well, that's one way to avoid the story. He could always cite poor building security. After all, he did get in already...

"Nothing panned out to prove he's tied to anything. But it's just..." He frowns. "It's a gut feeling, you know? This Savio is not father of the year material. That's for certain. And I'm not sure if denying him custody was enough. Someone who can manage to stir up rumors to make people wary of him but still not have a shred of evidence to confirm. Truth or Lies, that's manipulation in some form."

Punisher has posed:
"Standard practice." Punisher concurred, "I've been at this long enough to know how the syndicate operate. Police files are a real eye opener once you get into the serious shit." Once finished with the book, Punisher opens it to the relevant area for the Drago notes and begins to read. "So the kid was supposed to be interviewed, but you were ordered off. Who else was involved in the case besides Schwizer?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Bernie Ohls was there. But he was working with me at the time before Schwizer took over. If the kid was interviewed it would have been by Schwizer but I doubt it. Best chance you probably got is finding a counselor but there's that whole in confidence thing. Guy rubbed me the wrong way."

He pauses, "Now, Ohls is a good cop. Put more of his life into his job than I did."

Punisher has posed:
"The case was basically swept under a rug. It was never looked into." Punisher finishes reading and tosses the book onto the nearest table, "No one else is going to give the kid or the mother justice. Now, it's time for punishment." Punisher notes, grimly, "Any other information I should know about? I've got a few leads to look into at this point, but the more the better."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Anderson pauses in consideration, thinking about it. "The last time I checked, the front desk clerk still worked at the hotel. She won't talk about that day, but she did mention the kid coming back to the hotel for a bit when he was older."

Punisher has posed:
Standing up, the Punisher put his hands in the pockets of his trenchcoat, and stared at the man, "Did the killers come in from the lobby?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Yes." Anderson replies, "Notes cover that. She was behind the front desk, the guest that called for help was seated in an oversized arm chair so it appears that they didn't see him."

"According to the guest, the kid was in the process of leaving the room so he had his back to the gun men."

"Triggerman followed after the kid while the other was covering the lobby area, eventually gettng the desk clerk's attention. When the gunshots rang out, the one in the Lobby ran into the hallway. They left through the fire door."

Punisher has posed:
"I doubt she'll be able to remember a face." Punisher grumps, before he starts to head for the door. As he nears it, he looks back over his shoulder. "Are your neighbors nosy at all?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"It's Gotham." Anderson replies, moving over to collect the discarded book. "Most people around here grew up learning nosy gets you killed. Makes work all the more challenging."

He walks over towards the closet once more, "No."

Punisher has posed:
"Yeah, I keep hearing about The Bat trying to change things around here, and yet... all he does is stir up the crazies and pretend that beating the shit out of people is gonna somehow change this city." Punisher grunts as he reaches for the doorknob. "It's a goddamned miracle he hasn't pushed the morons here into nuking themselves by now."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Anderson raises a brow as he looks over towards Punisher for a few moments before turning back to the closet. Crouching down to set the book back in place. "There's... a lot of baggage with this city." he responds.

Punisher has posed:
"Take care of yourself, Anderson. You only got the one life. Doing it like this? You're gonna go out with a whimper." He turns the knob, "You strike me as the sort who would want to go out with a bang."

The door opens, and the Punisher walks out into the hallway, leaving.
