Synopsis: Snake Eyes investigates a shooting and meets Duela
Cast of Characters: Harlequin (Dent), Snake Eyes

Harlequin (Dent) has posed:
"I won't do it, Alex. I SWEAR I won't!" The man's voice echoes fear that bounces off the derelict brick walls. Caught in the crossfire of sound is a pale face peering from the shadow, illuminated only with a slant of light.

Painted crimson lips mouth the words as a disembodied and distinctly male voice responds. "You know, I wish I could trust you, Ben. God knows I wish I could trust you. But God also knows why I can't." Only the faintest whisper can be heard from the lips as she speaks in unison with the Voice.

"Bam! Bam...BAM!" The voice of the shadowed Harlequin is drowned out completely by the gunshots that cut Ben to the ground. A young man - vaguely Hispanic, or Puerto Rican, lies crumpled and bleeding as footfalls beat a path away. Harlequin's expression falls, but she does not yet reveal her presence to any who haven't spotted her already.

Snake Eyes has posed:
The gunfire attracts Snake's attention. He's nearby, staking out the home of a potential international info broker when he hears the gunshots. Running from rooftop to rooftop in the direction the bangs cam from, the ninja pauses when he sees the man bleeding on the ground. Nimbly, he slides down one of the alley walls, bouncing to a fire escape and then doing a flip before landing smoothly on the ground. A look around is given to assess for threats before checking to see if the casualty is still alive.

Harlequin (Dent) has posed:
"It's no use," a soft and feminine voice calls out from the shadows behind the ninja. Doubtless he sensed her presence before she spoke, but his arrival does not seem to stir her, one way or another. She approaches and stops at the victim, looking down at him with wide and dreamy eyes, head tilted just so. "I try to see what they saw, but they won't open up. God says they saw too much."

The girl appears to be about twenty, and possibly dressed in steampunk cosplay. Purple stockings, a leather corset...a violet top hat bespectacled, which she removes to reveal green hair cut in a neat bob. Her face bears the illusion of a harlequin. She kneels and turns the face of the bleeding man to face her. His eyes, wide and vacant, are frozen in fear. "What did you see?" she asks him. But there is no breath there to give voice to answer her query.

"It's not the man who killed him. It's the holes. See?" She points vaguely to the wounds, which have now ceased pumping blood down his white tee shirt.

Snake Eyes has posed:
As he realizes the man on the ground is dead, Snake turns to give his full attention to the green haired young woman. His featureless mask focuses on her as the commando briefly scans her for weapons. He reaches for his left forearm where a tablet waits, typing on it with his gloved right hand until the machine speaks in a robot voice, "Do you know what happened?" Some more swiping at screen, "Who used the gun to put the holes in him?"

The soldier continues looking around, almost like he's pacing, trying not to miss anything in his investigation.

Harlequin (Dent) has posed:
"The holes were always there." Harlequin looks back up to the face of the ninja, and turns her gaze down to the tablet on the ninja's forearm. She replies directly to the tablet that posed the question. "The man shows them the holes, and they double up, and die."

Snake Eyes has posed:
"Interesting," replies the tablet after a couple of touches on the glass by Snake Eyes. "I don't Know how to help you, or what exactly happened, what kind of weapon was used, Thatstuff"

Harlequin (Dent) has posed:
"The man had a gun," Harlequin says to the tablet, her expression brightening. That was a question she could answer, and it clearly pleased he to be able to share that little tidbit. "God says they seen things. I don't know what they see. I want to see it too. I already have holes, so it's okay. I know they're there, and I don't die. This one..." she says, jumping subjects with the attention span of a gnat, "This one was a good boy. He gave me ice cream when I was hungry. He gave me a sandwich, and ice cream, and he told me about law and the universe and all that stuff. He was gonna be a lawyer. He didn't do anything, but he got shown his holes, anyway. I wonder what you have to see to get shown your holes." She's still addressing the tablet, as she pulls out a yellow-wrapped butterscotch disc. "Would your overloard like a candy?" she asks, clearly offering the treat to the ninja controlling the tablet.

Snake Eyes has posed:
Lifting a hand towards the strange young woman Snake Eyes shakes his head at the offer of candy. Then it's back to his mobile device, "No candy, thanks. Do you know the names of this man here or the shooter? So we can try to tell the police about it, let them catch the bad guy?" Who knows if they're already on their way yet. Based on the fact that they're in the city he imagines they would be.

Harlequin (Dent) has posed:
"Ben. This is Ben. It's short for Benjamin," Harlequin offers helpfully. "And that was Alex, the one who wished to God he could believe Ben. Alex makes holes for a living, maybe. But Ben. Poor Ben." For the first time, some semblance of emotion seems to touch the green eyes of the Harlequin.

"Ben has a card he carries, with his name on it and his picture. I think it's in case he forgets who he is. Well...was." She shakes her head. "Alex always wishes to God he could believe them. But don't you think if he wished to God, then God would say it's okay, Mister?"
