Cast of Characters: Rage, Mason Steele

Rage has posed:
It's been a few days since the incident and Andrea is trying to put it all behind her. She must have called Mason a half dozen times, leaving voice mails and a couple of texts asking him to call her back. All of this while in the midst of her third album release, which shot up to Number 4 on the charts with her lead single, Electricity, reaching Number 1 on the top Hot 100 dance category.

Currently at home, Andrea is pacing about the living room with quite a bit of energy. She had her morning work out. She had her conference call with her management team. She signed up for her classes at NYU and made sure Jay did the same. Now? She has nothing to do. With a glance down at her phone, she shifts her jaw and then swipes it open, then launches Mason's number once more as it rings, putting it on speaker phone so not to hold it to her ear.

Ring Ring.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason has never been good at answering promptly. Or returning phone calls or texts unless he really felt like it. But today he finally answered. "Hey," he says. It sounds like he just woke up.

Rage has posed:
Expecting the call to go straight to voice mail, Andrea pauses for a few seconds as if stunned. Just the sound of his voice sends her reeling. There is a rush of emotions that courses through her, the type that builds in the stomach and creates an awkward knot. How long has it been since they talked? Maybe graduation? Maybe months?

"Hey. Mason. Thought for a moment maybe you dropped your phone in the toilet again. How are you doing?"

Mason Steele has posed:
"Nah," Mason answers groggily. "Just been busy." Translation: Lazy. "Been doin' good, just takin' classes and stuff. Livin' on campus at Julliard." He yawns on the other end. "What owes the honor and all?"

Rage has posed:
"You're living at Julliard? Huh. I thought you would have got your own place after Xavier's. Anyways, I was just wanting to make sure you were okay." Andrea says as she chews on the end of her hair for a moment in her usual nervous habits. "Hey, nothing weird has happened lately to you, has it? Like.. you're not seeing things.. seeing me? Seeing other people that.. are talking to you but they aren't really there?"

Mason Steele has posed:
"Like, hallucinating?" Mason asks. "That's kind of a weird question. Nah, I been clean." He seems a little confused. "Why would I be seein' weird stuff?"

Rage has posed:
"I was at the cafe the other day, and you walked in, shirtless, gave me a shoulder massage, acted like a dick .. which isn't new, but then you started telling me you were my neighbor and that a wolf was watching me." Andrea says rather bluntly. "Then I yelled at you, blinked, and found myself alone with the entire place staring at me like I was batshit nuts. Except it was real. You were touching me. You were talking to me. You still had that mole on your chest. It was you, but it wasn't you. It was a you that was acting weird." Andrea says as she chews on her bottom lip.

"And it's why I was calling and calling and calling you ... because I was scared something happened. Just because we graduated from Xavier's, doesn't mean the ghosts remain on campus. So, I was worried about you. Worried that maybe you were compromised. Worried that you were in danger. I don't know. Maybe I am the one going crazy. Jay said I should talk to Jean later.. and I still may. I just needed to hear your voice."

Mason Steele has posed:
"Um, yeah, I guess that's pretty weird. Maybe you just were like, overworked and all? Congrats on your song, by the way. Top of the charts." Mason seems rather unconcerned. "I mean, compared to the stuff that happened at the school, nothin' crazy seems to happen to me now. It's kind of nice. Xavier's is like, a magnet for crazy shit. So if you're still hanging around them, I'd probably point a finger there."

Rage has posed:
"Nah, I'm not hanging around them. Sometimes I see Shannon and Megan. They'll pop over for lunch. I see Sam often enough because he's Jay's brother and he likes to use my landing pad on my porch. You should see my new place sometime. You're always invited." Andrea says as she flops down upon her couch.

"Thanks by the way.. in regards to the song. Yeah, it's a banger. Did you actually listen to it or ... just saw the news?" She asks curiously as she tucks some hair back behind her ear. "I've been waiting to hear your new stuff of course. Got anything in the fire?"

Mason Steele has posed:
"Been workin' on a few, tryin' to get something really different. Something people don't hear all the time. Manager wants something by the end of the month, money money, right?" Mason can be heard moving something around. "But if you think you're hearin' weird ghosts, you probably should tell Emma or Jean or somethin'. They are good at that kind of stuff."

Rage has posed:
"Yeah, I guess I can talk to Jean, or Betsy. They were able to fix my brain and make it whole. No more Rage or Chrysallis or any other fabricated personality. It's all just me now. Until last week. Now I got you in my head." Andera says with a trailing off of her voice. ".. Again." There's a slight noise in her throat as she leans back against the couch. "Do you want me to help you out on the music incognito? No royalties involved or anything. Just two artists kicking ideas about."

Mason Steele has posed:
"I dunno, maybe," Mason says. "I gotta get ready for class, so I'm gonna get goin'. Take care of yourself, and I'll talk to ya later."

Rage has posed:
"Yeah, yeah. Okay.. well, I'm glad you're safe, Mason. I'll call you later tonight." Andrea says as she turns the phone about in her hands a bit. "I'm working on a project you may be interested in. We can talk about that later. Take care. I miss you." She says as her thumb hovers over the red disconnect button.
