Cast of Characters: Mercy Thompson, Buffy Summers

Mercy Thompson has posed:
It's getting near dusk, and given her shop's in Fort Joseph...Mercy's out here for a four pawed run. She's chasing small fuzzy things in the park, on four paws and darting this way and that. She's out hunting and wanting to catch something small and fuzzy and that'll go good for a snack. it's not that bad, mind..she's kind of pest control in fur and paws and a tail...

The grass rustles as Mercy sprints after a mouse and is determined to catch the critter...snack, then back home to cook dinner?

Buffy Summers has posed:
The moment the sun goes down is the moment that The Slayer is out and about on a hunt of her own. Brandishing her new favorite 'toy', a battle axe with a wooden handle and and end wittled down to a sharp stake, she is ready for just about anything..Although tonight seems pretty quiet.

Until she comes across a certain familiar coyote, and her eyes narrow as she starts to follow it, curious as always. Their last few meetings, the coyote had actually helped her fight vamps, and displayed unusual intelligence for a wild animal.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's charging after the wild mouse and lunges at it. Ha. Gotcha. The mouse is caught on a paw, but Mercy lets it go. Nah, she's just going to chase and run, not chow down on mice..yet. Still she can't shake the feeling she's being watched and gives Buffy a look at her furred self running after small fuzzy creatures. Hey. Maybe Buffy would wanna join in chasing mice and such? Never know...

Buffy Summers has posed:
Well, isn't that cute? A coyote chasing mice through a park..Hey, at least she's not chasing and killing people, right? That's a plus in Buffy's book. With a tired sigh, she settles down on a nearby bench and just watches. Looks like it'll be a quiet night for a change.

Oh wait, didn't she have some jerky from before? "Here, coyote.." she croons, holding out a stick of beef jerky..

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Jerky or mice? It's....a good choice. It's a good choice and a tough choice really...

Looking over to Vuffy, Mercy lets out a yip and trots over. You get off easy, mouse...

Jerky wins out as Mercy pauses for a moment, hops up on the bench and lays down so she's got her tail hanging off the end, her paws curled under her and her front paws stretched out resting her head on them, watching Buffy as if saying yes, you got me to leap up here. Now hand over the jerky, woman

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smiles, looks like jerky tastes better than mice, who would have thought? She grins as she does indeed hand over the jerky and watches the coyote thoughtfully for a few moments. "Well, you're pretty bold, either that or your super tame. You don't seem afraid of me at all, do you? What's your name?"

Buffy frowns a bit as she glances her over. First time they met, she noticed a collar. Is it still there? And did it actually have a name tag? She forgets.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy chows down onn the jerky and munch munch munch. Happy canine, good thing. She tilts her head and yes, the collar is there with the name tag. Mercy.

She does look up to Buffy and does that tongue hanging out thing, raising a paw with a happy yip.

Wait, has Buffy met Mercy on two legs?

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smiles, "Mercy, that's it. Hi Mercy, where you from?" she talks to the yote as if she can actually understand her and talk back. Which is probably crazy. Or maybe not so crazy given everything else she's seen.

Buffy reaches out and tries to pet the coyote, curious to see just how 'tame' she is. "Strange, your collar doesn't seem to have a home address though. I wonder if I should call the pound, although.." she frowns, "I wouldn't want them to put you down either..Hmm..." can she afford to adopt a wild animal?

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy whines at the mention of the pound, though she does accept the petting. Really. Buffy adopting Mercy? Oh, this is too good. Is Mercy going to have to pretend to be a domesticated coyote? No, she's /not/ letting Dawn paint her claws or play with her...yet.

Mercy gives Buffy a curious look and flicks an ear as if asking really. You'd adopt me? Really?

Reaching a paw up, Mercy nudges the collar for a moment to shake the little tag on it. Nope, no collar. And she'd rather not flee at highway speeds from Animal Control!

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers knows that Dawn was fond of Mercy, although wandering into someone else's house was not a good idea. However, with things getting dangerous all the time, Buff could use an intelligent protector/cute and fluffy doggo to keep Dawn company when she wasn't there.

And with her mom constantly out of town on business trips lately, it meant that Dawn was frequently home alone when Buff was out patrolling. "Alright then, if you don't have a place to stay, I'll just have to take you home!" she grins and scritches Mercy under the chin.

"Well, it looks pretty quiet out here tonight, why don't I reunite you with Dawn? I'm sure she'd be happy to see you again.."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy yips. She does have a home, but...free place to stay, why not? And it's not like her shop is that far away...but if she's expected to keep an eye on Dawn, hey, help around the shop could well come in handy. She perks up more and wags her tail. Oh, Buffy needs to learn Mercy's not just a dog. Fluffly as she is, Mercy's a walker, and...there's that whole dilemma of canine one moment, person the next. Oh, who can see and talk with ghosts, too. Go figure, Mercy is complicated...

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smiles. Looks like the coyote is happy to come home..ANd maybe this is a really bad idea, but honestly, Buff is not getting any *bad* vibes from her, so she couldn't be a demon. Although she *could* be some sort of intelligent animal or a were-yote, but then, she seems nothing like Oz..

"Alright, let's go then!" she hops off the bench and starts to lead Mercy towards her home, which is a few blocks away. "Soo..I guess you don't talk or you would have said something by now.." she laughs, "Look at me, talking to a wild animal, expecing her to talk back.." yeah, she's lost it.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's sure somewhere Coyote is laughing his ass off. Mercy on the other hand...paw, is going along with it because why not. Free food, a spot to relax? Somewhere not drowning in various fluids...

Car fluids that is.

So she goes along with it and trots obediently as if she's a well trained dog. Which really...she isn't.

Still she trots and loooks to Buffy, flicking an ear as if wondering how long this'll take.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers continues to lead Mercy through long pathways and across streets and...Hey is it even legal to own a coyote? But...Well, considering the kinds of illegal things she possesses and people she hangs out with, is that even a thing? With a chuckle, she heads to her house and opens the door. "Dawn, I'm home! I have a surprise for you.."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy runs into the house and hops up on a couch with a frantic wagging of her tail, thudding against the couch as she settles in for a nap. It's hard work, chasing mice...and getting beef jerky from slayers, really...and being brought home to a younger sibling. Kinda reminds Mercy of her pack, in a way.
