Wolf Meets Cat. Welcome back to the Danger Room, Popstar.
Date of Scene: 12 August 2020
Location: Danger Room - X-Men Base
Synopsis: Andrea meets Sabretooth and gives him a taste of her past, and perhaps, their future.
Cast of Characters: Sabretooth, Phoenix, Cannonball, Rage

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor walks into the empty Danger Room. His steps echo with the heavy tred of his step despite being barefoot. He still refuses to put on anything like the spandex or school uniform sticking with a black tshirt and camo pants today. He looks around the empty room and runs a clawed hand through his hair. "Place even smell sterile," he growls a little bit. He has been moving about the basement like a reverse Quasimodo since losing the gloves and mask, but even he is getting antsy about being stuck in such too clean a walls. He is missing the dirt and filth and real smells of the outside world so has found himself wandering into the Danger Room finally breaking down to a point where he might actually want to use it.

Phoenix has posed:
There was a surprise visitor today in one of their alumni, whom Jean is walking with through the halls. "You're here fifteen minutes and already bored and want to burn off steam." Her voice can be heard coming down the hallway towards the Danger Room, the soles of her sneakers a soft impact on the polished floor. "I think you're just using us for our tech." She passes a quick smirk to the young woman next to her. "I always felt that you can take the mutant out of the school, but never quite take the school out of the student."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over from the Gym as he hears Jean, and will chuckle a bit to himself. He is doing a bit of strength training on the machines today. He might not be super strong, but keeping in shape is keeping alive around here.

Rage has posed:
Heading into the Danger Room with Jean is Andrea. Globally known popstarlet and mutant activist, her name is everywhere on the radio, as well as the whispers in the school that she has returned, even for a short visit. Having just graduated a few months ago, she is still a familiar face to the student body. Dressed in a solid black jump suit that was designed for her particular set of gifts, coupled with a bright yellow X belt wrapped about her waist, she feels right back at home.

"What can I say? You guys have a superior gym compared to the one at my penthouse and nothing beats a workout like the one here." Giving a long stretch of her body, her arms flop down at her side as she gives a wave to her once mentor. "Hey, Sam!" She calls out joyously. "You and Alexis coming over for dinner tonight?"

As her attention floats towards the new face, she gives a pause, glancing way up at his height. "New teacher?"

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor looks around at the two ladies walking in. He gives a huff that moves his whole chest and turns away. "As if they would want to learn the lessons I'd teach," he growls mostly to himself as he moves towards one of the walls of the Danger Room. He runs his hands over the surface almost idly as he knows what they do, but it doesn't seem quite right. He sniffs at the air, but doesn't recognize the person with Jean and Same. He doesn't listen to the radio so pop music is WAY out of his wheelhouse.

Phoenix has posed:
"Mm." Is all the noise Jean makes in regard to Victor teaching. She just says to Andrea as she steps into the room, "This is Victor Creed, also known as Sabertooth. I'm sure you heard some of the stories about him. He's been a guest here at the school and may be assisting us on some upcoming missions."

She does give a bob of her head towards Sam before looking towards Victor. "This is Andrea, one of our new graduates and former New Mutants team member. She decided to stop by for a visit. She was considering some time in the Danger Room."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will grab a towel and put around his shoulders to come see what the ladies are up to. "I need to check with Alexis, I think so, but I need to double check with her for sure.

Rage has posed:
Giving a pause, Andrea furrows her brows as she stares at Victor for a long moment. "This is /the/ Sabretooth, huh? Wow. You really are huge." She gives a visible sniff at the air for a moment as her body gives a bit of a rocking side to side as she keeps her ankles loose. It looks like she may have more to say, but she is wisely keeping it to herself.

"Just let us know. I can get us reservations." She says to Sam as she gives a glance over towards him, though she doesn't exactly take her eyes off the large man.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor snorts again. "Guess you must let any ol' Frail graduate from this place." He looks from Jean over to Andrea up and down. "Don't look like much, but," he sniffs at the air, "maybe there is a little something about you." He is starting to move towards Sam now. "How do I turn this room on?" he asks the younger man. "I need open area to run."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Well, you have a list of ones accesable, you ever watched Star Trek the Next Generation, like a holodeck. "Computer Acess Creed, New England forest." And as he says it, the forest springs up around them with the smells, animals sounds and all as if they were teleported out into the wilderness perhaps near the mansion even.

Phoenix has posed:
"She may surprise you." Jean says towards Victor as she gives Andrea a clap on the shoulder and begins to walk past her and towards the control room. Sam beats her to things as he fires up one of the scenarios. The sterile recirculated air of the sublevel is replaced, and a warmer and more humid atmosphere begins to filter in to reflect a summer forest. There's the smell of pine and dirt, late summer flowers and the first crisp hints of upcoming fall leaves.

"Well, this should give you a little space. Later, we can go out to the actual forest if you still want." She reflexively swats at the drone of an invisible bug near her ear. "The lake is a common hang out in summer."

Rage has posed:
"Yeah, they let high schoolers graduate from school during their senior year. Who'd have thought." Andrea says as she raises her brows upwards at him. When Sam calls the program up, she doesn't even flinch as the world around her changes. She gives a look around briefly before she drops her arms down at her sides, letting them sway back and forth.

"Anyways, since he got here first, I won't bug you to run one of my programs. We can just hang out and catch up." She says to Jean as she looks back towards the red head with a smile. "You should come over and visit me as well. Now that I moved into the new place and everything is set up, I'd love to have you over for dinner. I can have our chef prepare whatever you fancy. We could make a girl's night of it. Bring Miss Munroe as well."

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor wanders over to a tree and draws his large clawed hands down the side of it like a bear. He then drops down into a crouch and pushes his hand into the earth, rubbing it between his hands, and then taking a deep smell. "This isn't bad, Red. I will give you that, but I can still tell it ain't real. I will need the real thing before long." He turns his head as he listens to Andrea get all smart alec. "Never went to school myself. Don't think it hurt me so graduating don't really mean much either." Still rubbing the dirt between his hands, he looks over Andrea again. "Show me what program you had in mind. I'm curious now."

Phoenix has posed:
"No, it's not real, but for training purposes it does well enough. It's hell on the electric, but easier than everyone piling into a jet and go looking for trouble." Jean remarks quietly as she looks around the forest and then down to Andrea. "Dragging her away from the initial prep of fall planting season isn't easy, but I'll see what I can do. She could use some time out. Is your scenario already programmed in or need me to go load it?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's phone beeps, and he looks at it and says "Sorry guys looks like I need to go check into something seems we might have a new student, need to go see if it is legit or not.

Rage has posed:
"Okay, take care, Sam!" Andrea calls over to him with a smile, lifting a hand upwards to wave.

"It's loaded, unless you guys deleted all of my hard work once I got my diploma." She says teasingly to Jean as she bumps her shoulder against hers. She looks over to Victor for a moment before her shoulders lift upwards. "I mean, if you want to see it, sure.. it's nothing like this." She says as she gives a motion of her hand. "This is a lot nicer."

"Miss Grey, can you run Rage Protocols Alpha Fifteen?"

Sabretooth has posed:
"Lot nicer. Right...." Victor folds his arms across his chest and leans against a tree. "Already seen the unicorns farting sunshine so I suppose it can't get much worse."

Phoenix has posed:
"Ah yes, *that* scenario." Jean says dryly as the unicorns come up. "We haven't done a clean up recently, but we saved some of the 'vintage' ones for fun. Those are for another day." And as Andrea asks to start up the program, Jean heads for the control room to fire it up.

Rage has posed:
"I don't know what programs you guys have been running while I've been gone, but mine doesn't have rainbows or unicorns or those that fart."

Andrea gives a nod of her head to Jean, giving her a thumbs up before she puts some space between her and Victor, swinging her arms a bit. She takes in a deep breath, holding it for a moment before she lets it go.

The beautiful forest melts away quickly, followed a wave of complete and utter darkness as the lights go out. There is a light rumble as the world begins to flicker into view.

It's Mutant Town, but many years in the future. The buildings are crumbling and on fire. Vehicles lay by the wayside, damaged and unusable. In the distance, gunshots can be heard, followed by loud screams of panic a few blocks away. An explosion can be seen a few blocks away, colorful arcs of orange and yellow sparking everywhere.

"Welcome to the future, Victor Creed." Wheeling herself about, she holds her fists upwards as she eyes the alleys and buildings, glancing upwards at times towards the windows.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor stands up fully as the tree disappears behind him. He looks out and around as the world shifts and becomes an apocolyptic future around him. He nods a few times. "If this is the future, I would say Chuck's little dream didn't do to well." He tilts his head up slightly as he sniffs at the air. "Interesting little set up you have you, Frail."

Phoenix has posed:
The hologram's realism is disrupted by the opening of the control room door as Jean steps out. Once the door shuts behind her, the simulated world conceals the way like it never existed. "Only a fool would think something will succeed all of the time. It doesn't mean that you don't try." She says as makes her way back towards her former student. "So, what's the objective of this one? Usually when I see these kinds of scenarios, a Sentinel is about to try and land on me. The last one was difficult, too."

Rage has posed:
"This is the future that can potentially happen if mutants and humans don't eventually work together. It doesn't have to be this way of course, but if we give the humans a reason to hate us, war will come and no one will really be the winner." Andrea says with a furrow of her brows, fingers curling up tightly together.

"As far as the objective goes? Survive."

With that, bullets rain down from above towards the three as a man with blonde hair is seen poking out from above the roof with an assault rifle in his hands. Both of his arms appear to be cybernetic and he is howling in laughter. For those familiar with the cast of villains would recognize Donald Pierce of the Reavers. A leader of the Friends of Humanity. Cyborg mutant hunters. Years ago, they had it out for the popstar and attacked her constantly until the X-Men were able to get rid of them, for now.

Diving to the side as the bullets ricochet off the street, she tucks and rolls along one shoulder before she rises upwards. She gives a glance to Victor and rumbles in her throat. "Show me what you got."

With that, the sound of bones cracking is heard as she shoots upwards to nearly eight feet tall. Her body jolts and convulses as the monster within is revealed. Werewolf. A towering war form of black fur, long claws and sharp teeth that jut from her extended muzzle. Tilting her head upwards, she lets out a war anthem towards the roof, pounding her chest a few times with a fist.

Sabretooth has posed:
As bullets fly, Victor drops to a crouch and bounds forward with his powerful legs. Hands reach out to catch the ground and push him off again in a feral charge along the ground. He leaps upward and digs his claws into the side of the building. Muscles tense and pull as he leaps and pulls himself up the side of the building before he is grabbing at the rifel of Donald Pierce, attempting to yank it and him out the window. He hears the bones cracking and the howl, but he hasn't looked behind him yet. The scent of the Frail has changed though. That sent of copper he had smelled earlier is stronger now along with the wild smell.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey throws up a hand at the upwelling of murderous intent in the air and the ping of the bullet, forming a shield of rose light around her while she moves for cover. "I am not dressed for this." She mutters, as a quick gesture of her other hand triggers her simple street wear to begin rearranging itself into a simple, fitted, black tactical suit. For now, she remains behind cover with her senses reaching out to map out and inspect their immediate surroundings to determine just what, and who, are around.

Rage has posed:
Unfortunately for Jean, the Reavers have found a way to hide themselves from psychic attacks. They are more cyborg than human at this rate, with their programming reflecting of their bigotry. Hate and war. From down the street three figures can be seen, two on legs, one on what apperas to be on a tank's continuous track. Each of them are armed to the team with rifles and long, curved blades.

"DIE MUTIE!" Donald screams out at Victor as he takes aim at the beast climbing the building, firing off a few rounds with deadly accuracy. Bullets may strike, but the mutant has the upperhand in regeneration and experience. When the rifle is grabbed and he is tugged forward, he feels heavy as he locks his knees. Pulling one arm back, a blade slides free and he stabs forward, looking to impale it in Victor's shoulder.

By now, Andrea, or Rage, if you go by her alias, is charging through the street, claws gleaming brightly as she tackles into one of the Reaver's as she ducks beneath a blade arm, then slashes upwards as she digs her claws clear into his chest and upwards to his throat. There is a loud scream of pain and surprise, bullets scattering in an arc upwards into the sky from the backwards motion as he topples.

The mutant on the tank treads takes aim with what appears to be a rocket launcher, sending a ballistic towards Jean and her rippling telekinetic shield.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor roars as the blade sticks into his shoulder. "You comin' for a ride now," he growls as both hands grip at Donald's own shoulders as the cyborg had thrust forward into Victor's grasp. Willing to take the blade strike for a better grip. Claws dig into the man as Victor suddenly pushes off the side of the wall with his legs, pulling Donald along with him. They tumble backwards in the air, down two stories, as Victor twists in the air. A cat always lands on its feet, but in this case, he lands on Donald.

Phoenix has posed:
With the two melee monsters on the warpath, Jean is left to face the rocket with a grim focus. Instead of dodging the missile, her other hand comes up and out towards the screaming projectile while leaving her shield up in front of her. The vivid hot pink of her power wraps around it like a fist of light and turns it, sending it back towards the tank from whence it came with a shriek of protest from the motor as its turned off course.

Rage has posed:
"Fuck you, you genetic freak!" Donald screams at Victor as the two lock together. His blade drives him deep into the shoulder, coming out the other end of his back. His eyes are filled with anger and hate, ruthless. When Victor flings himself off the building, he goes flying forward with a look of shock on his face. "The hell--!" As they hit the ground, his body is lying crumpled beneath the heavy mutant, twitching as sparks shower from joints along his arms. He's not dead, but he isn't making much of a fuss, yet.

As Rage continues to slash and grapple with her own target, she grasps the sword arm and cracks it to the side, then plants a foot hard into his chest to send him backwards. As she does, she clutches him about the arm with her claws, yanking it free and clear from his body. The noise he makes is painful as he screams. That one may not have been his cyborg arm. Next is a rattle of bullets as the other gunmen who had ducked behind a car peppers the werwolf from behind, causing her to stumble forward face first into a wall. She howls loudly as her body arcs in pain.

The Reaver with the rocket launcher lets out a 'OH SHIT', wheeling himself around to try and move away, but a tank is not designed to be swift, but bulky. The rocket lasers him with Jean's accuracy, exploding in a bright plume of smoke and flames. There's not much left of him as body parts bounce along the sidewalks in a splatter of blood and motor oil.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor stands up, pulling one of Donald's arms off as he does. His shirt is covered in blood from the blade going through him, but the wound is already closing up. "Idiot," Victor growls towards the downed cyborg as he begins to move off. He drops to all fours again, but winces as his left arm hits the ground. The wound was deep. Probably cut something that shouldn't be cut. Taking its time to heal. He tucks his left arm close to his chest and runs three legged now towards Rage and the fight she is in. Even as he runs, however, he begins to lower his arm. Carefully at first, but quickly gaining his strength back as if watching a series of photos.

Phoenix has posed:
As the rocketeer is obliterated by his own weapon, the howl of pain from her former student has Jean zeroing in on Rage's position. There's not even a second's hesitation until she's breaking cover with one hand still keeping her curving barrier up to cover at least some of her. The woman throws up another shield as she runs towards the lupine mutant. This one is behind Andrea to shield her from further projectiles, though the act leaves Jean's attentions and powers divided with gritted teeth showing her effort.

Rage has posed:
As blood splatters the ground beneath her, Rage pushes off the wall and turns around to find herself face to face with the last gunman. A shotgun is clocked right into her muzzle, followed by a loud BANG. The sharpnel hits Jean's shield as it's erected in front of her, saving herself from what would surely be a life ending injury. As the bullets in her back fall out with a rattle of metal upon concrete, she looks ready to charge forward, but instead she hesitates at the sight of Sabretooth's approach.

Stepping forward, she shoves the gunman hard, backwards, right into the waiting claws of the approaching cat. ~Have at it.~ She growls in her lupine tongue towards the wild beast.

As the man stumbles over the body of his falling comrade, he slides backwards, then stares upwards at Victor. "FUCK."

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor lets loose. Not just for the battle, but for the months he has been in the Mansion. He lets loose with savergy and animal ferocity. Claws flash as the man is shredded beneath the attack of the feral mutant. He roars as the throat is ripped out of the man's body. He begins to stand now. His clothes are splattered with fresh blood mixing with his own as the Reaver's blood is coating his claws and scattered across his face. He is breathing heavily as he looks around for another target.

Phoenix has posed:
As the last man falls, there's a chime like tone and a pleasant voice that says, "Simulation successful. Ending program."

The world around them fades away. Mirrored steel replaced broken concrete. The choked skies clear to a domed ceiling. Even the dirt under nails and the Reaver's blood fades away, though real injuries remain.

With a quiet sigh, Jean lets her arms drop and the glow of her power fades.

"Still charging into battle first without checking the field, eh?" She remarks to Andrea. "That guy would have had you." She looks to Victor then, calm but her expressions sharp and cautious.

Rage has posed:
Breathing heavily, Rage lets out a loud snort towards Jean, then lifts a furred finger and gives it a twirl. Yeah. Yeah. I know. I know. Her ears give a flick towards the large wildcat, watching him cautiously for a few moments before her tail gives a lazy sway behind her digigrade legs.

There is the sound of cracking bones once more as she shifts back down, her uniform once more appearing around her body. It's the only type that doesn't shred when she changes. She gives a wince of pain as she puts a hand behind her back. "I'm used to fighting with my teammates. But, I was confident we'd pull it through." She wipes some blood away from her mouth, followed by swiping her tongue across her teeth.

"You doing okay over there?" She asks Victor.

Sabretooth has posed:
Victor stands still. The Reaver blood is fading off of him, but his own still soaks his shirt even if the wound is gone. "I'm fine," he says in a low, feral tone. He kicks his foot at the floor of the Danger Room where the killed Reaver had been a moment before. He looks to Jean and to Rage. "I am. I'm under control. Don't worry your pretty little heads about me."

Phoenix has posed:
"Good." Jean says with a nod and her expressions settle into a satisfied one. She leaves it at that.

"And you," She says as she points a finger to Andrea. "No claw wiggling at me, young lady. Confidence doesn't replace preparation. There isn't always backup, and even when there is, you have to be ready to guard your own back if they can't. If you want to swing by once in awhile to practice, let me know. I can let you know a week or two ahead of time when it's open." It seems even graduates aren't free from continued education.

"So, how about everyone get cleaned up and we can head outside? I think we've earned some free time and excuse for fresh air."

Rage has posed:
"I'm not worried." Andrea says as she brushes her hair back behind her ear. "Was nice seeing you in action though. Wouldn't mind sparring with you. I'd be up for a real challenge."

When Jean digs in on her, she gives her a sheepish look. "Yes ma'am." She knows better than to sass the Phoenix.

"I'd love to stop by and work out with you guys more. There are days where I wish I accepted your invitation, but then you know.. I really like college .." She leans in to give Victor a bump of the shoulder with hers. "I'm gonna hit the showers and then see you guys outside." She calls out as she starts for the door, giving herself a long stretch.
