Date of Scene: 14 August 2020
Location: On set for I Wonder
Synopsis: She-Hulk knocks her acting debut out of the park and things are looking up for i Wonder.
Cast of Characters: Wonder Man, She-Hulk

Wonder Man has posed:
Hair and Make-up was almost distressingly easy to handle. Simon's own stylist for the show, Triss (they call her Tress or Triscuit) handled Jennifer's hair. Jennifer, as She-Hulk was gushed over for an hour on many fine qualities of her hair, how even her complexion is and how small her pores are. It is the sort of experience that can build anyone's opinion of themselves.

Wardrobe was maybe a little more problematic. Clothes are always issues for Jennifer but they had planned ahead. The pencil skirt is just a little tighter than she might like. The blouse and jacket are also a hair too small, but she is also used to that. The shoes are a welcome surprise; it is a rare find to get good heels in her particular size. They even perched a pair of delicate black frames on her nose. The end result is maybe a little bit of cheesecake but it is network friendly cheesecake and compared to instagram it is rather tame.

The big surprise is the director; Simon is trying to broaden his horizons and he is directing this cameo, but it will be used in every show. "Thanks again, Jenn." Simon says as he moves over to give her a warm hug. "I want you to inhabit the space. I want you to feel free to cast a little playful shade at me, and I want you to be confident, assertive, and as sexy as you are comfortable being. For now, Just walk and talk and move around the set, get comfortable?"

The set is the typical Hollywood perception of what a law office should look like. Faux hardwood, bookcases with heavy tomes, and a massive desk. There are a couple of books that look like they are to be blue screened, apparently those are easter eggs for clever watchers. Something to change every week. The camera and the teleprompter are situated so perching on the desk's corner is a really smart place for her to work from.

She-Hulk has posed:
Surprisingly, perhaps, Jennifer isn't really used to the Hollywood treatment. She's been an Avenger, she's been part of the Fantastic Four, she's been a lawyer, but she's rarely been a /celebrity/, in the sense of pre-planned appearances. She sits patiently, rather pleased, as they get her hair and makeup done, and then it's a matter of getting dressed. The shoes concern her more than most; she generally has to get special shoes not just to handle her size, but her weight. On the other hand, she shows up in a pair of basic black pumps, so maybe they can sub in. Of course, it depends on what they want her doing; the shoes they had might work.

She looks about at the set, more amused than anything. "Be nice if my real office was actually this nice." But she moves over to sit lightly on the edge of the desk. If she's sitting there, she doesn't /have/ to worry about shoe integrity.

"If I were being as sexy as I'm comfortable being, Simon, you'd never get this on the air." she winks. ""Reserved" is not really one of my watchwords."

Wonder Man has posed:
Simon swallows after she says that. HIs head simply and slowly nods as for a brief moment he allows his imagination to run wild. After firmly reminding himself that this is not that sort of promotion, and that this show is his baby and what has been shot has been fantastic, well he reigns himself in.

"Okay. Sexy enough that you are maybe the highlight of the show for dad, but mom doesn't mind it." Simon says after a moment. "It's just a brief cameo. We'll shoot it from that corner a couple of times, then with you seated, and then anything else that you feel is fun. A little diversity in the cutaways is fine." He nods to Marv who clicks on the teleprompter. The line is simple.

"Science is fun, but it can have unexpected side effects or sometimes be dangerous. The following experiment is one of the times it might be both. This experiment should not be tried at home.Only trained scientists under controlled situations should be doing it, otherwise, no one else should. Especially Simon. So be smart, stay safe, and do not try this at home. Want to do real science at home? Go to our webpage and get the instructions for our Smart and Safe Home experiment. Back to you, Simon."

Marv explains, "We can speed it up or slow it down for you, Miss She-Hulk, ma'am. We want you to read it the way it is a couple of times, then do a couple of variations that are more fun for you."

Simon chimes in again, gesturing with his hands, "Have fun! The pay is horrible--" She's not getting paid. "--but my prop guys made a Steel shank for your shoes to handle your--" He pulls up short. Maybe he doesn't want to say 'weight'. "-- comfort during the shoot?" He lifts his eyebrows and smiles a little too broadly. He gestures at John the sound guy and Jack the camera guy. "Start us up, Simone." He tells his assistant.

She-Hulk has posed:
Jen considers a moment. She crosses her legs there...thinks about it...and then hikes the skirt up about one inch. Racy, but not scandalous. She adjusts her faux glasses on her nose, and smiles. "Hey there, everyone. Science is fun, but it can have unexpected side effects, or sometimes be dangerous. The following experiment is one of the times it might be both. This experiment should /not/ be tried at home. Only trained scientists under controlled situations should be doing it. Otherwise, no one else should. Especially Simon. So, be smart, stay safe, and do /not/ try it at home. If you want to do real science at home, go to our website and get the instructions from our Smart and Safe Home Experiment. Back to you, Simon." She smiles and gives a wink.

Wonder Man has posed:
Simone pops a button, flashing a light. SImon is beaming broadly. "I loved it." He says. "I know this is tedious, and I appreciate it. We can use that first take. You want to do another one, letting out a little more of yourself into it, or are you happy with that? It was still tasteful and kid appropriate. I mean, this is a kid's show, but it is a kid's show we want mom and dad to want to watch with them."

Simon considers. "Play with the glasses in a take if you want to? We both know you are smart, but we put them on you to look smart. We'll see. You're really natural as you do this."

Marv grunts from the teleprompter. "Most people take a couple of takes. The speed okay?" John adds, "Sound is great. She's got a great voice." Even Jack, normally taciturn, gives a nod. "For a green chick, she's pretty good at this."

A quick check confirms things.

"Go." Simon points.

She-Hulk has posed:
Jennifer nods. "No, I've got a couple ideas for it. Let's see here..." She considers, and then says "Let's lead with the kid-focused version." She takes a moment, and then looks over. "Tell me when you're good to go."

Jennifer tugs the skirt back down that inch, and this time, her voice and her expressions are more animated and energetic. "Hey there, everyone out there at home! My name's Jennifer, but most of you probably know me better as She-Hulk!" Get that celebrity name-drop out there. "Science is a lot of fun, but it can have some unexpected side effects, or even be dangerous! Trust me, I know...It's not always easy being green!" She quips. "What Simon's about to do might be both. He's super-tough, but you're not. Stay safe, and definitely don't try this at home." She hops off the desk, landing on her feet and grins. "Instead, stay smart, stay safe, and check us out online, for our "Smart and Safe" home experiment." She literally does finger-quotes for the name. "Take it, Simon." She gestures off-camera animatedly.

After a moment to let them cut, she grins a little. "That'll probably play better with the younger crowd."

Wonder Man has posed:
"It will." Simon checks with his crew. Folks are smiling, and it is pretty obvious these folks actually enjoy this job. Simon does check the take on his monitor and gives it a thumbs up. "I am a fan. Are your feet okay? I know our shoes might not have been up to snuff. They should have been, still."

Simon steps around to smile, giving more of his attention now that he has cleared the previous take on the playback. "Any others before you want to sit in the desk?"

John chuckles. "Get her to do an after-dark promo, Simon"

"Nope!" Simon says quickly. "Valued teammate, supremely powerful woman, doing me a favor?" Simon ticks the reasons off on his hand. "That's a negative there, John." Simon cannot physically roll his eyes; but he gives that impression to Jen with his expression and his eyebrow movements.

She-Hulk has posed:
Jen replies "My /feet/ are fine. These shoes are probably going to be a loss." The invulnerable woman is going to last a lot longer than the shoes will. She considers. "Okay...this next one will be for the moms at home out there, then I'll do one for the dads. Sound good?"

Wonder Man has posed:
"That works for me." Simon replies as he moves to settle back in his canvas chair. He and Simone share a little look for a moment, both smiling at each other.

Wonder Man has posed:
Wonder Man says, "Careful, boss." Simone teases Simon. "Looks like she might be better at this acting thing than you." Her smile is that of the cat that got the cream.

"Yeah, well, she's better at everything else too, so that is no surprise." Simon's deadpan is warm. Another check and she's clear. She's obviously relaxed some, and that makes the crew relax a bit as well.
"

She-Hulk has posed:
Jennifer laughs. "Trust me, NOT a better actor." She looks over. "Okay...here we go for the next one." She sits on the edge of the desk again, but this time she just keeps her legs together; no sexy leg cross. The glasses go firmly in place. "Hello everyone." She's presenting her very best "schoolteacher" vibe. "We all know that science can be a lot of fun, but the most important thing out there is to stay safe. When you don't follow directions, science can have unexpected effects, and it can even be dangerous."

And then it's time for the second-best special effect at her disposal. She focuses a bit, and then starts to...shrink. Her hair shortens, her skin pales, her form slims, and over the course of about twenty seconds, she ends up as a cute-but-not-sexy adorkable brunette, who looks a little like she's a kid swimming in her mom's clothes. The shoes hit the ground with a clatter. "See?" She says sheepishly. "What Simon's about to do, you shouldn't try at home. Only trained scientists in controlled conditions should. So be smart, be safe, and ask your parents to help you download our Smart and Safe home experiment to try with you." She gives a sheepish smile and a wave. "Back to you, Simon!"

Wonder Man has posed:
The laughter waits until the light flashes to show that they are clear. Simone starts laughing, while the other guys give a warm laugh. Simon is chuckling as he watches the playback. He hates to be no fun, but he has to make sure nothing popped out or slipped free. Luckily, there were no clothing malfunctions. Simon runs his hand through his hair.

She-Hulk has posed:
Jennifer blushes some. In her non-transformed state, she pretty much has a different personality from Shulkie. "That was the plan, yes. I mean, we're trying to get their attention and get the ratings. The kids will think it's cool, and the dads will think...well, you know what the dads will think."

Wonder Man has posed:
John chimes in, "I know what I think. Triscuit!"

Simon gives a bit of a laugh. "Go ahead, go change. I think we won't need you to sit down. I like what we've had so far."

Trish steps out, and gestures to Jen. "Miss Walters? Come on back here?"

She-Hulk has posed:
Jennifer looks lost. "Triscuit?" But she stands, hand on the waist of her skirt to stop it from sliding down. The blouse is fine; she's swimming in it but it won't go anywhere. "Thanks." She'll walk over, barefoot, to get into the Jennifer Walters-sized outfit.

Wonder Man has posed:
Simon follows, first his bulk obscures her a little and also because he has concerns. "Jen. I know you are ? less comfortable in your skin like this than when you are green. If this is something that you are uncomfortable with, it is not happening. At all. End of story. We have great stuff, we're ahead of schedule, and things are going great. You have already knocked it out of the park, and earned yourself some lunch on my dime. That said? Really, Jen. You don't want to do it, we are not. The slightest doubt? Not going to do it? Okay? And if after you see it, you don't like it? I'll erase the stuff myself."

John gives a disappointed grunt from the sound. Marv growls. "Have some class!" His voice is a snap. "She's a lady, not some floozy."

That shuts John up.

She-Hulk has posed:
Jennifer smiles appreciatively. "It's okay. It'll be a great thing for your show, and it should give them a warning what science can do. I'll be all right." She says, reassuringly.

Wonder Man has posed:
"I'm not sure that you as She-Hulk is a -warning-." Simon says with a slight smirk on his face. "It might actually be an enticement. You are pretty sensational as her." He lifts his left hand. "But then you are pretty damn awesome as Jen Walters too. So, go ahead and do wardrobe. Trish will help if you want it. It shouldn't completely fail, we've been told." MEaning she shouldn't be left standing about in her unmentionables. He actually says it this time. "We are not that sort of show." He pauses a beat. "Am I right, John?"

The sound guy, John Byrnne, just gives a soft sigh. "We are not, Simon."

She-Hulk has posed:
Jen heads out to do wardrobe. She has experience looking lawyerly, so as long as they're going to have anything lawyer-esque, she should be just fine in the bigger picture of things.

Wonder Man has posed:
The set is reset by the time Jen steps back out. John is looking like he got read the riot act. Simone looks uncomfortable, and Trish looks delighted. She and John apparently don't get along too well. The woman gets Jenn looking suitably fabulous, not really needing much. This time, though, Simone and Jack hover over her. Taking color readings and the like before too much makeup goes back on. There is only powder to avoid shine is what they decide. Jack explains, "We don't want you to look like you are wearing pale makeup on your green face."

She-Hulk has posed:
Jen nods. "I'm pretty sure that no one's going to take it for being a special effect." Sure, CGI could make a girl look like she's transforming, but it still looks like CGI. She won't. She moves over to the edge of the desk. "Okay everybody...here we go." She gets herself ready.

Wonder Man has posed:
Jack agrees. "No. It will be real because it is real. We just want you to be you when you're done. Your skin tone shift makes make up hard, We are pretty sure that we got this." Jack pauses. "If the show gets another season, they should get you to do an episode with Simon. You break all sorts of laws of physics. I would love to get tasteful shots of this on high speed film."

The light flashes, and the set goes quiet. Simon settles into his chair again and pints at Jen. "Make it happen."

She-Hulk has posed:
"Hey there, everyone. Jennifer Walters here; I'm the legal specialist on tap for Simon. We do a lot of really interesting science here. But, if there's a mistake with science, or even if things crop up that you didn't expect, things can get really crazy."

And with that, she triggers her transformation. She tosses her head back, mostly to get the glasses to flip off. Her hair begins to spill out, her skin starts to go green, and her figure starts to go DAMN. The stitching begins to pop here and there, but Jen's learned over the years how to keep herself /some/ degree of socially acceptable. In a couple moments, the green gammazon is standing there. "See...crazy. But, as you can see, this kind of stuff isn't something you should mess with without knowing what you're doing. It's not safe. Only professionals in controlled conditions should try it. Or Simon, because he's invulnerable. Everyone out there who /isn't/ invulnerable, stick with our home version, the Smart and Safe Home experiment. Grab it off the web! Back to you, Simon!"

Wonder Man has posed:
There is a long pause before Simone hits the red light to make it flash to indicate they are done. "Jack." Simon says. "How did it.--"

"I didn't see nothing I shouldn't have, check for yourself." Jack says politely. John mutely nods. "I was looking too. He admits. "Sound was fantastic. We even got the sound of the clothing popping and tearing." He sounds just a little too excited about that.

Simon merely turns to the monitor to catch the playback. He watches it twice, before announcing, "That's a wrap. Jen? I'll buy you lunch. ANywhere we can get in, and I'll feed you when you are green."

Simone chimes in, "Simon. They really might want to give her a bigger part in the show." She's looking out for him.

"That's the way my career works. I'm fine with it." He isn't, but that is the way it works. "Seriously. Someone get her a blanket or a towel and let her change her clothes!" Trish moves to do just that.

She-Hulk has posed:
Jennifer grins a little. "I really don't have the time for more than a guest spot. My life is CRAZY busy. But yeah, I'll go change, and then you're on the hook for the lunch." she teases, and heads for the back to change.
