Cast of Characters: Twitch, Mercy Thompson

Twitch has posed:
It's a slightly dreary morning. There's a lot of clouds and it's threatening a bit of rain, but that doesn't matter inside. In the cafe there are a bunch of people grabbing coffee and breakfast and doing fun things. It's a pleasant scene all around.

One of those folks that's here for some grub is Tyler Grant. The young man is on stool at the counter with an empty one to his right. He's got a menu in his hand, checking out what's on offer before placing his order. He does know what he wants to drink so when the server at the counter asks for his drink order he says, "Large mocha latte, please." His head twitches slightly to the side.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Rain, clouds? Nah that's nothing new to Mercy's way of thinking. She's up here because...why not. She got up early to work on cars and got a call to drive one back to Bloodhaven...that, mind, can wait till after breakfast. So here she is, overalls on, boots done up and her hair down, far too awake at this time of the morning. She hates coffee and OJ, and is settled at a table. Mercy's got oil and grease on her fingers and under her nails, true, but...it's dried and won't come off without a serious effort, and it was easier to just head out the door and bring a car back then work on the oil and grease...

So she's hankering after some bacon, fried eggs, potatoes and toast. And....not coffee. Or OJ. Definitely not either...

Twitch has posed:
After a little while Tyler gets a chance to order himself some food, "Bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, please." It doesn't take long for the food to come up, so he grabs the plate and his coffee and heads to go find a table. There's a shortage of them, so he does the next best thing, find a table with a friendly looking person at it. Seeing Mercy alone at hers he asks, "May I join you?" There's a little twitch of his head, "No empty tables."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Of course" Mercy says and waves to a chair. "Please, take a seat, I'm just digging into breakfast here but I'm glad for company" she nods keenly and settles back in her chair. Looking over to Twitch, Mercy smiles. "They always say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Twitch has posed:
"Thanks," Tyler says, flashing a smile as he sets his food down and settles down into the chair. "I'm a big fan of breakfast. Always helps get me going for the day." He goes to take a bite from his food but stops first, twitches a bit, then says, "I'm Tyler, by the way." Then he goes to his food to start eating his sandwich.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I'm Mercy" Mercy offers and nods, digging into bacon. The problem with growing up with a pack of wolves? It alters tastes a lot. Mercy knows this and it's why she got her pick of breakfast. Mercy peers at the bacon and looks pleased, then chews on it. "See, this isn't so bad. Compared to...say....Bloodhaven" she nods and looks relieved to be out of there. Admittedly she went there for lower rents, but....it had other costs too...which she's now finding out.

Twitch has posed:
"Nice to meet you, Mercy," Tyler replies with another grin after he finishes chewing his food. "Yeah, I've lived my whole life in New York. It's my kind of town. I really like it." Some coffee to wash down his food. "You're from Bloodhaven? I've been there a few times."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"No, actually....try further out. Montana, grew up there and came East" Mercy says simply. "Got myself a degree and a career, came out here to see what I could find. Beats being in the wild hinterlands of Montana, really...much as I miss it. I don't miss some of the people. Others mind..." Mercy shrugs. "I do miss them, and the views, and the landscapes. I can drive out to the Adirondacks...but it's not the same is it?" she sighs and stabs at bacon with her fork. Great, she's reminiscing yet again...go figure.

Mercy glances up from her food and looks over to Tyler. "So what're you up to?" she asks, sipping her water.

Twitch has posed:
"Montana? That sounds pretty cool," Tyler says with a chuckle. "It sounds way more rugged than New York. Ranches and stuff like that out there, right?" He grins, "Someday I might like to head out west a bit and ride horses or whatever goes on." There's a pause and a little twitch of his head, "I don't know if I could live anywhere but the city."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Right" Mercy nods keenly. "Very much ranch and horse type things, but there's a lot of mining and mountains and farming as well out there, so" Mercy muses and chews on more bacon while picking her words carefully...since she's still got friends and people back there. They could call on her for support or anything. "Though really. horse riding...not that great" Mercy offers and shakes her head. "Horses just crap everywhere and are big and scary"

She admitted it. The daughtr of Coyote is scared of horses at times. hey, she's only (partly) human...

Twitch has posed:
"My only experience with horses was getting sat on one while somebody walked it around when I was a little kid," Tyler admits. "They just seem neat, like in cowboy movies and stuff. Never thought of them as scary, but they are big and strong to haul stuff around like they do." There's a little laugh and a faint twitch, "I do a lot of physical stuff, myself. Free running and martial arts, mainly, but I hustle people on the basketball court sometimes, too."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy laughs, "I work with cars and martial arts myself, I lift weights, I work out. That kind of thing. You hustle people. Tsk, tsk" Mercy grins and looks to Tyler, then shakes her head. "But I need to get running, I'm supposed to pick up a car and have it brought back to my shop in Bloodhavenn. It won't drive itself...fortunately, actually it won't go anywhere at all so I'd better get moving and see what's up with it. you know if this place does doggie bags?" she asks. Oh the irony of Mercy wanting a doggie bag...
