Date of Scene: 21 August 2020
Location: Batcave - Wayne Manor
Synopsis: Dazzler meets Batman, and also meets Superman. After a fashion.
Cast of Characters: Batman, Dazzler

Batman has posed:
The helmet is darkness and silence, leaving whomever wears it lost in their world with only their thoughts for company. For some it can be a positive thing, enjoyable. Others it can be worse than other punishments for it leaves few distractions, no outs for a wandering mind.
Yet thankfully for Alison Blaire she is not left to her own devices too long. She'd be aware of the rumble of the batmobile under her seat. The shift and thud of the vehicle. The moment it comes to a halt and then...
    Nothing.
For a period of ten minutes perhaps, though in such a situation time might have a funny way of seeming to be faster or slower. Yet after a time she'll feel the helmet disengage with a faint hiss as the clasps slip free and it shifts upon her head lolling forward.
A voice is heard, deeper than Nightwing's, a rumble of tone that is polite but seems to hold within it a strong measure of intensity.
"Ms. Blaire." The helmet is slowly lifted off of her head and she'll see the interior of the Batmobile again, the LEDs flickering as it goes through a series of diagnostics as it sloooowly rotates on the turntable. A large metal structure that moves with barely a whisper, letting her see the tableau before her of the large cave and that dark superstructure that makes up the headquarters of the Bat clan.
High above and toward the back there's a carpet of bats shifting and moving as they all jockey for position, an occasional cry coming from them. Far below there is the sound of rushing water and a steady /thrum/ of power from whatever is hidden in those depths. A gigantic bank of computer screens rests along the catwalk and toward where the majority of the equipment is built into the side of the cave, many rooms and facilities clearly in evidence.
And then there is the man himself before her. Rising now to his full height as he steps back from the Batmobile. Little more than a dark silhouette with white eyelets, he gestures with one hand that slithers out of the depths of that cloak as he motions to the side. "Thank you for coming. If you'd follow me, please."

Dazzler has posed:
Alison Blaire's world is one of light and sound, which means the sensory deprivation is... disconcerting, to say the least. To someone resourceful and prepared, it's the perfect way to detain her. And no small source of nightmares.

The blonde popstar looks relieved when it's removed, and she climbs out of the Batmobile perhaps a little faster than she normally would. A booted foot steps onto the turntable and she resists the temptation to gawk.

She's in the Bat Cave. And this is Batman. Just in case she had any doubt as to where she'd be going.

The woman steps up to the taller, dark figure and looks him over. When Nightwing came for her she tested him. Pretty severely, at that. But before putting her into the helmet he mentioned why they sought her out.

"I understand why I'm here." she offers "And I want you to know that I'll do whatever I can to help."

Batman has posed:
"That's very good, I hope this will not be too much of a strain on your abilities and your stamina." His footsteps are quiet upon the catwalk away from the Batmobile, the cape flaring behind him as he moves and his stride even. His head turns slightly as he speaks to her, likely presuming she will follow him as he moves. Ahead of them seems to be an elevator that as they approach whispers open as the doors retract.
"Superman came to the cave with an alien organism attached to his arm. It's draining his powers." Into the elevator he moves, then presses one hand to the control panel and holds it there. Waiting for her to join him. Once she does he takes his finger off the panel and the doors will close before them.
"It seems to have two primary weaknesses. Low temperatures, and strong sound waves." A pause then he adds, "We'll need you to aid in his treatment by absorbing the sound around him while allowing it to affect the organism."

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler shrugs a little at that. "When Nightwing stopped by to visit I was fresh off of a 3 hour rehearsal and pretty juiced up." she replies. "But that was before being put into the dark." She walks alongside him, matching his pace if not his stride. Into the elevator they go, and she turns to face front. Only then does she take a really good look around.

It really IS a Bat Cave. A cave. With bats. Her upper lip twitches a little with amusement.

"Low temperature and sound waves." she repeats, nodding slowly. "Too bad it's not light-sensitive as well. Just so you know, I don't have a LOT of experience with selectively absorbing sound. I've done some experimentation, but that's all."

    Helluva time to learn, right?

Batman has posed:
As the dark elevator descends, a sliver of light passes over them both, just crawling from their feet to their foreheads and then disappearing with each transition from floor to floor they go past. No way to view outside the elevator, and there are no numbers on the control panel. Must be hard to use in a pinch for whatever reason.
But as she speaks he stands there, listening. Then gives a single nod as she mentions her limitations so far. "Just do what you can, with you here we will have options we didn't have before."
And then silence returns once again. No chit-chat. No small talk. The man is as grim as they say, stern in bearing as the floors drift past. Then there's a whisper of compressed hydraulics as the doors open before them, leading them to a grey hallway and what looks like an elaborate airlock for an isolation chamber. It's in that direction he leads her. "The organism has no history of attempting to infect humans. But for your safety I would still suggest a protective suit just in case."
The walk that distance down the hall just before the airlock and he pushes open a twisting panel that has a myriad of black plastic-looking suits wrapped in plastic bags that are prepared for rapid removal and fast tear-away. He pulls one off the rack and hands it to her, then nods to one of the side doors. "You can put it on over your clothes in there."

Dazzler has posed:
Alison nods in return, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. This wasn't exactly how she'd planned on spending her evening. And idly, the woman wonders whether the Bat Cave has a jacuzzi. She's pretty sure that Batman has a well-stocked wine cellar. Er, wine CAVE. She crack another smile, quickly suppressing it.

"A protective suit?" she replies, accepting the wrapped package with a dubious look. "That's probably a good idea. You do realize that, technically speaking, mutants aren't human. Some use the term 'homo superior'." Yeah, she'll definitely put on the suit.

Stepping through the side door, Alison opens the package and carefully steps into the suit. It's a loose fit, although thankfully not 'one size fits all'. Feet... hands... zip up... velcro flap... It's a few minutes before she steps out, moving a bit awkwardly.

Batman has posed:
"Could be." Those two words are heard as she heads into the room. "All the more reason." To use the suit.
Yet he waits there for a time until she reemerges, then when she does so he nods to her. A few steps carry him toward her, standing tall and looking down. Those irisless white eyelets shift from point to point to point. A hand rests on her shoulder and tightens a strap, then he nods to her and murmurs. "Turn around."
And should she do so he'll adjust the fit a little more before he nods. "That will work." And with that it's to the door. To that airlock with its large reinforced steel construction that slowly opens, as if Superman were contained in Fort Knox under lock and key.
Once the air is cycled, and the inner door opens she'll be brought into a cold examination room that is austere, with a bank of equipment against one wall, several monitors or display. And, of course, the Man of Steel lying on a large mechanized gurney that has his arm extended to the side, isolated for the pale grey organism that is pulsing and seething upon his arm.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler turns around slowly, resisting the urge to look back over her shoulder. The straps tighten and the fit is adjusted, the woman giving a nod of appreciation. "Thanks." she adds. Walking a bit awkwardly to the door with him, she whistles low at the sight. "Tell me you didn't get this from a bank." the woman offers wryly.

A look over to Batman follows, then. Humor is probably wasted on this guy, but Dazzler is determined not to let him suck ALL the light from the room. Metaphorically speaking. Which brings something else to mind...

"If there's going to be a lot of sonic energy, I'll need a way to dissipate it." Pause. "In other words, I'll need something to blast. Just wanted to point that out before we got started."

Then she steps inside and the airlock cycles. Deep breath, Ali. Exhale. Then she steps slowly up to the table.

Batman has posed:
"The military," He answers her as to the origin of the door, and was that a slight twist on the corner of his mouth? No, she's probably imagining it. But he nods to her as she speaks to what she'll need to handle the situation. His brow knits for a moment as he tilts his head to look at Superman, then to her.
We can lower the blast panels over the observation room. You can fire on those. It should be able to endure." He lifts his chin, motioning with one hand upwards as he murmurs, "The speakers are there, and there, with a directional focus and high energy feed. We'll start at low power and build and you tell me what you can manage."
Then he turns to face her, "Thank you for your help with this. I'll owe you." Something about him seems to speak to his need to acknowledge his debts... and discharge them.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison definitely catches the implications when he says that he'll owe her. Batman will owe her a favor... No, best not dwell on that. At least not until she's definitely NOT killed Superman. Alison looks over the setup again, biting her lower lip. "So my job is to absorb the sound energy that's not focused on the creature." And to keep it from killing Superman.

She nods, taking a deep breath and exhaling again. "I'll contain it as best I can, but lowering the blast doors is probably a good idea." She looks from him to the speakers and back, then, giving a nod. "Starting slow and bringing it up. Check. I'll let you know if things become too much for me to handle."

Batman has posed:
A nod is given, he frowns for a moment as he looks at the unconscious Superman. Then he gives a single severe nod and murmurs. "Alright."
And with that he moves to the door in the back of the room that leads to the observation area where a control terminal can be seen. He steps through that door, causing the lights to flicker on within, and then he takes his seat. "Then let's get started."
