Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau shouldn't be at a bar at 1130 pm, escpecially since Scott has a 5 am training session scedualed. Still driving to see Riana would be even later, and perhaps a few beers, maybe hustleing game of pool if he can find a sucker, might relax him enough that he can sleep by 2. Seriously, who even knew there was such a thing as 5 /A.M./? He glances around the bar. Good night for Harry. Lot's of locals, a few newcomers. Lovers and clandestine rendezvous. A large man with shaggy blond hair and a rough goatee puts off a bit of a biker vibe at the bar...except for there is a monkey in a pink dress sitting on his shoulder. Finally the man's eyes fall on a tired loooking man in the back corner. The Cajun shrugs, orders two beers and heads in the man's direction. "Bar's full up, yah min' if Ah join yah mon ami?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Remy is correct. Nick is indeed looking extremely exhausted. But then again, dream traveling from Vancouver will do that to you. Especially when you have to take minor detours to deal with some dreams encountered that just could not be ignored. He was a tad off on his last jump, ending him up in Westchester instead of New York City proper but, he was winded. He needed a break before he could continue.

So Harry's it is. He lucked out in getting a table out of the way of the more active persons, affording him a chance to just enjoy a slow beer while fiddling with Duncan's card with his left hand. Unlike last time he was here, Nick's without jacket, exposing the the parts of the arms not graced by the fabric of the solid T-shirt he wears. Instead of the knit cap, he's wearing a ballcap, hair tucked away as best he can with it.

Hearing the cajun voice, pale eyes glance up, looking to Remy. A few moments click by as the tired musician processes the request. "Nah. Go ahead." He leans forward, tugging a full backpack off of one of the extra seats at the table, pulling it to rest by his feet should anyone else need to grab a chair. "As much as I like supporting the local teacher, I might be too tired for a rematch though."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau matches the face to the voice in his mind and smile slightly. "Fair 'nough. Sorry Ah forget yah name. Nate?" He furrows hius brow, but to be fair it was some time ago. He takes a seat and a sip of his beer before saying "If yah don' mind mah sayin' so, yah look like yah been rode 'ard and put away wet."

At the bar the monkey in the pink dress climbs down from her perch of the large man's shoulders. She walks across the bar and opens the small jar of pickled eggs. She then lifts the tongs, carefully selects an egg, tapps away the residual beet juice. She then sets it on a napkin, replaces the lid, and makes a small shaking motion at the bartender...as if asking for salt.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick shrugs, "It's Nick. And completely understandable. I forgot yours too. Only really remembered the key points of 'teacher','pool shark', and 'glad I set a game limit ahead of time'."

He gives a half smile, moving the hand with the card back into his pocket momentarily before pulling out a now free hand. "Long trip. Ended up taking a detour. So, right now I'm resting up before I finish the final leg of the trip."

Nick turns his head to look to the monkey at the bar. Hmm. "Sometimes life can be stranger than than dreams."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau says, "Remy," offering the other man his hand to shake. "An' pool shark is such an ugly word." he moves to take another sip of his beer, hesitates, then adds, "Ah mean it's accurate, but an ugly word none de less." He then follows the other's gaze and chuckles, "Wha', yah nevah saw a monkey eat an egg 'fore?"

At the bar the bartender hesitates then sets the salt shaker on the bar. The monkey offers a smile, lifts the shaker, daintily adds just a bit of salt to her egg and moves back towards the blond man. At the bar another man who apparently has already had a few drinks asks in a snarl, "What's that disgusting animal doing in here?" The blond looks over and says in a distinctively Austrailian accent, "Near as Aye c'n tell she's onna date with you. But Hell who am Aye ta judge, right?""

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick lifts up the scarred arm, reaching it over to shake the offered hand. "Ok. We'll go with pool expert. Being that I kind of knew that was where it was going to go and I still agreed to play anyways, that kind of negates the shark bit."

At the ruckus raised at the bar, Nick glances over, listening to the man's retort. He chuckles a little, reaching over to grab his beer. "Well, I'm a bit glad that I opted for the back table."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau looks amused as well shaking his head at the drama unfolding. "Dats fair. Yah shoul' try me at poker some time. Now dat is where Ah'll really take yah money." he sips his beer just watching the show.

The monkey gently takes a small nibble of her egg, watching as well and somehow looking amused. The Drunkard sputters slightly as the Aussies so flipantly insults his date and says "That flithy creature has no business in this place. To this the Aussie raises his eyebrow. "Filthy? Least Tina warshes her hands aftah usin' the facilities. More then Aye can say fer you five minutes ago."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick takes a deep breath at the offer of playing poker before giving a shake of the head. "Yeaaah, I don't think so. Teacher or not." He glances to the bar, looking to the drama. "How about a compromise? I'll bet you a beer that if those two end up fighting, The Aussie ends up on top."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau glances over considering then shaking his head, "Ot'er guy already drunk, pretty sure de Aussie only two beers in. Asides he'd cheat. He got de monkey as back up."

It's right about the time his date is recoiling from the drink the man handed her when the drunk throws a sloppy and well telegraphed punch. The Aussie catches the other man's fist in his own and then... well then nothing for several seconds. Then suddonly the drunk says "look man I was being a jerk. I'm sorry." He directs his attention to the monkey, "Ma'am I appologize. pleasse forgive me?" He seems almost completely sincere in his tone. "Let me buy you a drink, to make up for it okay?" the Aussie release the other man's hand and smiles companionably, ptting him a bit too hard on the back. "She'll have a virgin daqueri, and I'll have an Irish car bomb. On my new friend here." The drunk nodding and looking overjoyed with the turn of events.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As Remy turns down the offered bet, Nick shrugs. Well, at least he offered some type of wager. Albeit a one sided wager. As they watch the exchange go on at the bar, the musician glances back to Remy. "Well, at least someone got a free drink out of all that." He comments.

He picks up his drink, "So how are things at the school? Another school year starting up, right?"

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau watches the exchange with an odd expression. A bit of an empath he's usually good at noticing telepthic interferance in someone's mind. He didn't sense any of that which was damned peculier." He then refocuses on his table mate. "Oui, which always a fun time of de year. Students dat spend de summer wit' us now trying ta reduce dare space foh roommates. Returning students catching up. NEw students trying ta find dare way." He shakes his head It always a bit crazy."
