A robot in the wilderness
Date of Scene: 30 August 2020
Location: Isle Of Avalon
Synopsis: Megan and Shannon watch over Blurr in Avalon while planning their next step.
Cast of Characters: Pixie, Blurr, Nightingale

Pixie has posed:
Megan had safely teleported Blurr to a large cave in the wilderness overlooking the Isle of Avalon, in a place safely hidden from human and robot eyes alike. No doubt, Lockdown might eventually find a way in, but for now he is safe..However, that just leaves one other problem: how to fix him? Megan sighs as she sits on a boulder just inside the cave watching him worriedly for signs of life. "Ohhh..What have I got myself in to this time?" she frets aloud.

Blurr has posed:
Indeed, what has Megan gotten herself into this time? Granted, given the situation at hand, she had actually handled it in a fairly smart fashion. In other words, she hadn't done all that badly.

And fortunately, when she came back to check on Blurr again, he's actually still there. Which also meant she probably picked a fairly safe location as well, that wouldn't get noticed any natives, or at least, not too many.

As she watches for movement, there is indeed some. Several lights flicker on, and after a few seconds, Blurr tries to stand up inside the cave. Though that just results in his head becoming acquainted with the ceiling. And a few rocks breaking off and tumbling to the ground.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly as she notices the lights and climbs to her feet. "Hey! Are..Are awake? Is that right? Do robots sleep? Are you even a robot? I've never seen a sentient robot before.." she bites her lip, not sure how to think of it--him. Him. But Megan is relieved to see signs of life.,

"You're okay! I..I ported you to a cave in Avalon, you should be safe here, at least for a little while, although I'm not sure how we're gonna heal you.." her shoulders sag, a bit regretful that she had fled the scene, turned her back on an offer to save him. But it was his choice right?

Blurr has posed:
Blurr flinches and crouches back down, pushing his back against the cave wall as he scans his surroundings in an attempt to make sense of them. That doesn't go so well. This place is completely unfamiliar--it doesn't even appear in his internal databases. And all his comms are apparently shot. Well maybe they were shot before...where they?

Avalon? Was that some other planet? He turns and stares at Megan, looking incredibly lost and confused. "..."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly, taking a cautious step towards him and holds up her hands as if to say 'stop'. "Relax, you're somewhere safe, I promise. This..Realm belongs to a trusted friend of mine, hidden behind a veil of magic. You should be safe for a while here, away from prying eyes.."

She sighs, "I dunno if Lockdown was being sincere or not but.lAre there others out there like him who might be looking for you?"

Blurr has posed:
A few tense seconds pass, but Blurr finally seems to calm down at least a little bit. He sits down, slumping against the wall, his optics still fixed on her. Oh, yeah...she'd teleported him away from Lockdown. That--was good.

He nods. "Th-thanks--" he manages to say, although the word is barely intelligible to the Terran. The Autobot holds out a hand, and a few panels shift aside until a small transparent container comes out. It opens, and out comes a small green fairy. The one she'd been chasing in the subways months ago. Apparently still alive and well too, it seems.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly, trying to make out words, but he's still pretty gabled, messed up. Was that a thanks? She smiles gently, "Youre welcome.." she blinks as he produces the fairy, taking a step towards him, "Uh...The fairy! She was with you? Oh thank goodness! I was sooo worried!" the fairy squees and flutters excitedly towards Megan.

Blurr has posed:
Yeah, Blurr had almost let Wheeljack have his way with it. But something prevented him from telling Operations about the creature.

Once the fairy is free, he tries to get up again, scraping against several rocks that jut out along the way. But he collapses, finding himself too weak to do even that. Pushing up slightly, he points at something behind Megan, beyond the mouth of the cave. Safe as Avalon may be, it's not exactly the sort of place you'd find potent fuels. However, it's not as if Blurr doesn't know how to improvise--and there is a small clearing nearby with a few kerosene lamps around it. Not going to help very much, but it's better than nothing!

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles as she hugs the fairy, but blinks as Blurr tries to move, "Hey hold still, don't hurt yourself.." she blinks, glancing over her shoulder. So e locals must have gone camping or something, left those behind. Who knows if there's any actual kerosene in them left but only one way to find out.

She bods and heads out of the cave, moving quickly to grab them before anyone can see. Who knows when they'll be back. "Here, you want these?" she holds them up to him.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr nods and takes them--ugh, they're even smaller than he thought, but good thing he was designed to be more efficient than most people. He empties the containers into his systems quickly--ah, that was better. At this point, even a little bit is a relief.

Then he peers more closely at Megan. "S-sowhereareweanyway?Imean--" He stops himself, and starts again. "Where are we??"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon was going to get in /so/ much trouble for this. But she had a sinking feeling that there may not be too many more chances to check on Blurr, and she really was worried about him. Besides, you just don't leave a friend behind and go it alone. That much had been drummed into her from multiple sources. So when Megan knocked on the door to her dorm, she didn't hesitate. "You know, I'm pretty sure Mr. Proudstar is going to start coming up with nicknames for -both- of us. I swear we're the Trouble Twins."

So when the Trouble Twins got to Avalon, she quickly realized that not only was Blurr going to need some supplies, but maybe it couldn't hurt to build up a small cache of necessities in the cave where he was hidden--because who knows how long this situation could last, hopping between dimensions. It took a bit of haggling, some wheedling and a fair bit of trading of some of her sewn goods, but when all was said and done, and she returned to the cave, she had a nice little sack full of who knows what. Her smile, in rare evidence these days, returns upon seeing Blurr awake and at least somewhat functional. "Welcome back, you."

Pixie has posed:
Megan blinks slowly as she watches Blurr chug down the kerosene...She's trying hard not to wrinkle her nose..That stuff can't taste good! But..She's not a robot so maybe it tastes good to him? "Umm...Is that better?" He's still in bad shape, but at least he's now I guess now.

"We're in Avalon..It's kinda a magical realm, you know all those King Arthur stories? umm maybe not? Well anyways, it's a far away magical medieval place hidden under a magical veil. Should keep us safe at least a little while."

And then Shannon's back and and she smiles faintly at her, "Heey, what did you bring?"

Blurr has posed:
Blurr's attention goes to Shannon as the other mutant returns from town. "H-hey--um--thanks for not turning me over to Lockdown..." he tells her. "Don't believe a word he says by the way."

Then he nods at Megan. "Yeah, a little bit..." he mutters. "'King Arthur'? Who?" Nope, no familiarity there. "What do you mean, 'realm'? Like, a hidden sector? Nebula? Or are we talking another dimension? What's--'medieval'?"

Nightingale has posed:
"You're welcome." Shannon reaches over to gingerly touch Blurr's hand, cracking a small smile. "I didn't believe him for one second. But I couldn't let anyone else think that. If he'd sell you out one second and heal you the next, that doesn't exactly scream trustworthiness." Plopping down between Megan and Blurr, she swings the sack into her lap, tugging open the top. "I just hope we didn't make things worse for you, because to be honest, neither one of us knows a thing about healing you, and my gift unfortunately doesn't work on non-organics. You'd have to guide us through it somehow."

From the sack, several items are produced. There are some small packets of healing herbs and things that a mideval healer might have available to them. There's bread, cheese, and some dried fruits for Megan and Shannon, as well as a blanket for each of them should the weather turn bad. There's also some candles, a flint and steel, and a couple leather bags. "Water, not wine," she says to Megan, gesturing to the bags. "As soon as I have some idea of what you need, Blurr, we can try to find a way to make it happen. No guarantees, but at least we can try."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs a bit, "I guess that makes sense, both of you know Lockdown better than I do. But...You're right, we're in over our heads now.." she frowns, staring down at her hands thoughtfully, lapsing into uncharacteristic silence as a hundred through ts go through her mind right now..

As Shannon presents food, Megan smiles and nods to her absent mindedly. She's pretty hungry, but she's just got too much to worry about to even think about eating right now.

Blurr has posed:
"Well of course he offered to fix me, I'm no use to him dead." Blurr points out. "Plus that gives him the perfect opportunity to plant whatever the slag he wants in my systems. Tracking devices, bugs, bombs, Primus knows what the Cons might have paid him to do!" he says, crossing his arms.

"What I need, is fuel." he answers Shannon. "I don't know what kind of place this is, but if there's more of whatever was in those lamps--a -lot- more..." As Shannon takes the items out of the bag she brought, he peers at them curiously. "Do you--eat those?"

Nightingale has posed:
"Which was the same thing I was thinking, Blurr. Thanks, not going to have that happen to you." Shannon sobers a little bit, though, rubbing her temples ever so slightly. "We're left with one huge elephant in the room here, though. Lockdown mentioned a heavy presence of more of your people already here. Just how heavy a presence are we talking, and are they friendlies?"

She gets a bit of cheese, bread, and dried fruit together, passing them to Megan with a little smile. "I know you're probably not feeling too good about this whole situation, but survival rule #1. If you have the chance, eat. Keep your strength up."

With a quick smile and a glance back over at Blurr, she nods. "Yes, we do. This is fuel to us. Remember that godawful spoo stuff we had to pick up that one time...? This is fuel for organics, too. Just tastes a hell of a lot better."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs, rubbing her eyes, "Okay...Soo there are more of these robots out there..Lockdown mentioned you guys were at war, and he's still gonna be after you, I guess he was lying when he said he's ended his contract on you?"

She frowns, "You know we're waaay over our heads. We need to talk to Mr. Summers and Miss Grey.."

Blurr has posed:
Blurr seems reluctant to answer that first question, at least the numbers part. "They're friendly to you as long as you're friendly to me." is all he says. "Since that's already the case, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. At least, from my allies, anyway."

He makes a face at the organic 'fuel'. "Doesn't -look- like it tastes better..." he remarks.

He shrugs at the question about Lockdown. "I don't know, maybe it was true, maybe not. All I know is we can't trust him. I can guarantee you he's working with my enemies. And your enemies too, since you helped me."

Nightingale has posed:
Well, at least there was partial confirmation of what Lockdown had said. Cybertronians definitely had a presence near or on Earth, but at least some of them were likely to be potential allies.

Shannon sighed softly, taking a bit of the food herself, and nibbling slowly on the cheese. She grins a little bit at Blurr, and laughs. "It does. Not too much tastes worse than that spoo stuff. I mean, it has the nutrition, but wow, let's hope I don't see that stuff too many times in a lifetime."

Her only response to Megan is to simply look at her and shrug, ruffling her wings ever so slightly. It was something that could be talked about later.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn bites her lip, glancing at Blurr thoughtfully, "Sooo...Any idea of how many there are, exactly? Your friends and enemies? And what's this war about anyway?" he's right, since they intervened, they're gonna get caught up in this war, like it or not.

The food is glanced over and she eventually relents, grabbing a few pieces of dried fruit, munching on it distractedly.

Blurr has posed:
"What the slag is a 'spoo'?" Blurr asks. He didn't used to care, but now he is finding himself curious, as he watches them chow down on the food.

"I can't give you that information." he tells Megan, then sighs. Right, what the war was about. "The war is about a lot of things. The Decepticons are a rogue faction. Insurgents, basically." Of course, if they'd asked Lockdown, he probably would've given quite a different answer. "I already kind of explained to Shannon. Maybe she can summarize."

Nightingale has posed:
The ghost of a smile appears on Shannon's face. "Oh come on. Don't tell me you've forgotten the pit stop we made on that trip with Doug several months ago? 'Spoo' is that stuff we picked up as food for us squishy organic-types." Though Blurr might miss it, Megan might spot the mist welling up in Shannon's eyes, and her smile fading just a bit. Perhaps there was good reason this was not something she talked about much.

Glancing over at Megan, she cants her head slightly to one side. "About the best I can remember is a civil war was mentioned. I should probably have asked more questions at the time."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles faintly, laughing weakly, "Spoo, heh. Guess you'd have to be into human food to get it.." she yawns a bit. "Umm you know I'm getting pretty tired, This cave is nit very comfy but I would feel better if I was there to watch over you, give you a quick escape just in case.." Megan stretches her arms, "Umm Soo..Sleeping bags, guess we didn't pack any.lI suppose I could grab some from home and bring em back here?"

Blurr has posed:
"Oh, right." Blurr nods, recalling that one time. "Well it all looks gross to me."

"Yeah, a civil war. That's it." He stares at Megan. They really did care, didn't they? It was still so strange to him--never in a million vorns did he ever expect organics of all people to take care of him. "Y-youdon'thaveto--"

"I mean, you don't have to stay here--with me."

Nightingale has posed:
"Hey. We might not know a whole lot about you and your people, but... we do try to at least help our friends as much as we can." Shannon smiles faintly, leaning back against the wall of the cave next to Blurr. "Sometimes I wish that was more."

It was a rough time. The girls were definitely in over their heads, but on the plus side of things, at least the friends all had each other, right? Right!

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs tiredly and nods slowly, "Yes, that's right, we just want what's best for you...And we'll think of some way to get you all fixed up." she frowns though, looking briefly...Conflicted about something. "Whatever happens, just know that I won't let anything bad happen to you..I'll grab us some sleeping bags, be right back!" and with a wave, Megan vanishes in a column of pink light..

Blurr has posed:
"Well like I said if you want to help--you could try to see if there is more of whatever fuel was in those lamps earlier. Or better yet, petroleum from back on your planet." Blurr watches as Megan disappears in a flash of pink again. He's never going to get used to that...

"You sleep--in bags?" he glances at Shannon.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles a bit, and shrugs. "Sometimes. It's compact bedding on the go. Some find it very soothing to be wrapped up in something soft and warm to sleep inside of like that. Though sleeping bags are usually reserved for camping and outdoor trips, kind of like now. Keeps you warm, and out of direct contact with the ground."

Biting her lip, she sighs deeply, her wings drooping. "I just hope we can manage to do the right thing here, get you repaired... and hope to slag everything turns out right somehow." Because she could see where this was going. War on the scale of whole star systems and galaxies? Yeah, this was out of even the X-men's wheelhouse.

And she did not like the options left--even if those options -did- include friends among them as well.

Damn it, why were there sometimes simply no easy decisions?

Blurr has posed:
Blurr listens intently as Shannon explains what sleeping bags are for and why humans like them. "Oooh." Right, their bodies are super soft and squishy. "Huh. Interesting."

He watches Shannon as she droops a bit. "Well you're already on the right track." he encourages. "That is, if what you were saying about this place being hidden is accurate. Which I trust that it is." Really wasn't bad, at least for a bunch of fleshbags. Right, he doesn't say that part out loud.

A pause. "You don't think Megan could teleport a medic here, do you? Because I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a specialist..."

Nightingale has posed:
Even if he doesn't say it, Shannon will. "Heh. Not bad for a bunch of squishy organics." For a moment, it almost seems to work, her wings perking up just a bit. But it's only for a moment. She slumps all over again, hugging her knees to her chest, and resting her chin atop them.

"I... when the signal went out, there are two friends I trust, and I left them a note to tell them about investigating the signal." Pause. "I didn't know if we were going to be walking into a trap or not, considering the likelihood that Lockdown might be present--which it turned out he was--so ummm..." Another pause, and by now, Shannon is squirming. "I might have left them a copy of the signal, in case things went really badly."

She pinches the bridge of her nose, shaking her head, thinking for several long moments. "On the plus side, I've got a pretty fair idea of at least one person they might contact who'd have a shot at repairing you. But on the down side, I don't think anybody's going to be real happy about the war being brought to Earth."

Blurr has posed:
"Whoever it is, they might have a shot at helping a little bit," Blurr sighs. "But like I said, I'm probably going to need a specialist. Look, it's not like we -try- to drag other planets into the war, in fact that's probably why Ops didn't just deploy someone immediately to extract me." Well that and not wanting to risk giving their position away to the enemy...

"Anyway, um--thanks. F-for e-ever--" She won't be able to make out the rest of it, as it seems to turn into what she might guess is Neocybex toward the end. He stops, giving her an apologetic look before the lights flicker out and slumps against the cave wall, motionless as a car with a dead battery.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon had given Blurr about as much of a heads up as she could. At least he didn't seem to hold it against her. This alone elicits a sigh of relief from the young winged mutant. Curling up against Blurr for the moment, she extends her wings over what she can of him, as if somehow she could shield and protect him--even if only for a little while. "Sleep well," she whispers. "No matter what happens, I'm glad we're friends."
