Cast of Characters: Magneto, Blue Beetle (Kord), Phoenix, Wolverine, Peggy Carter, Cannonball, Elixir, Rage, Mia Renault, Prismatic

Magneto has posed:
It is a beautiful late summer, early fall day. The sun is up in the bright blue sky, but the temperature hovers in the 60s with a breeze coming through the streets of Mutant Town. A few whisps of clouds are high up in the atmosphere, but little breaks up the azure sky.

In Mutant Town, a Block Party has been set up. Multiple streets have been blocked off to create a pedestrian only area. Many have set up stands in order to sell the open market kinds of wares. Homemade scarves, jewlery with an assortment of polished stones or corded hemp, sketch artists, food vendors, and all manner of curios are there to be browsed and bought. Some of the vendors are obvious mutants, but some could be or perhaps not. There are a few street performers with the hat in front of them doing what they can to get the attention of the passerbys. It is quite crowded with a massive diversity to the crowd.

The main attraction, however, is large stage has been set up at the far north end of the blocked off area. Large speakers are set up on either side of the stage. A roped off area is in a semi circle that reaches about ten feet away from the stage at its peak. Several microphone sets are up on the stage with wires flowing over the front. Through out the day there have been smaller acts up on the stage with various kinds of music, but it is clear now as the headliner of the block party is soon to arrive.

Blue Beetle (Kord) has posed:
It isn't only locals selling their wares in the makeshift market. Off to the side of the market is a small, modest booth with an equally modest K.O.R.D. Industries banner over it. The volunteers are handing out free sodas and pamphlets detailing K.O.R.D. industries mutant-friendly hiring policies and the fact that K.O.R.D. Tower is being built next door to district X and how it will offer opprotunitiues not just to mutants but everyone in the immediate burroughs.

And not too far away from the booth is the billionaire ceo of K.O.R.D. industries himself, Ted Kord. Unlike some /other/ billionaire philantropists he doesn't try to really stick out. He's dressed down in two-tone blue jacket and yellow tinted glasses, a can of JOLT soda in hand, perusing the market's wares and overall just being friendly with that sorta goofy smile of his and mess of brown hair that just won't stay styled. He looks to the stage, then his watch, awaiting the main event.

Phoenix has posed:
As people begin to mass, there's one woman hanging back and leaning against one of the buildings. Her red hair is a wavy mane shifting in the breeze, her distinctly green eyes watching the goings on with a calm expression even if her crossed-arm body posture is warding. She's dressed in fitted jeans and high black boots, with a white tank underneath an open green shirt and a thin black belt to finish it off.

It was a surprise to even catch Jean Grey out in public these days, particularly with the school year just having gotten started. But her red-eyed counterpart all but shoved out the door rambling about getting 'fresh air' and her starting to grow into the walls or something. She doesn't look terribly convinced as she chews the inside of her cheek, but she's not moving to leave either.

Wolverine has posed:
Starting in the background, wearing a brown leather jacket, cowboy hat, boots, blue jeans and carrying a cigar, Logan meanders into the crowd, and sniffs. The smells and sounds of this place come to the enhanced senses of the mutant Canadian, and with that, comes a realization that he notices a few interesting people present.

Sniff. With a sideways look, he spots Jean Grey in the distance, and with a tap of his hat with his left index finger, acknowledges her. Kord he doesn't know, but he looks at the booth, and then away. It was a packed place, and there were lots to see and do. He was here for one reason though. A promise.

Peggy Carter has posed:
Not a street vendor or even a mutant, one of the most classic agents of SHIELD, once Director, is doing her best to just blend into the crowd today. Just another street citizen, coming to see what the big deal is. She's brought cash and a pretty decent amount, to support the local vendors and blend into the crowd. The only *slightly* strange thing about her is that she's not dressed in modern jeans and a t-shirt, but a more oldfashioned style, emerald green wrap dress with a little black bolero and matching T-strap pumps. She looks like she walked off a page of the ModCloth catalogue, but retro is in these days, so even that's not all that strange.

Margaret Carter winds her way slowly through the crowd, dark eyes taking in faces, any tensions, and vendors all the same. She's observing, not moving too fast or too slow, occasionally stopping to make small talk with a vendor. She's fairly expert at not drawing attention to herself while memorizing every inch of the scene around her.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is here as he is part of the community here. He also has to be the face for one of those billionaires who love to be the center of attention but can't be here today. Berto has did a lot for the neighborhood, and with the whole X corp stuff. Just of late stuff back in Brazil has kept him there. So Sam is here wearing a Club Evolution t-shirt, and giving them out as well. The club is open for people to come in and get away from the crowds if needed, but a good bit of the club's musical equipment has been taken outside and to the afore mentioned stage.

Elixir has posed:
Gathering with the rest of the crowd is a young man with golden skin and matching hair. Josh has tucked himself into a navy hoodie and his hands are stuffed into the large pocket on the front. Looking around, he sees a lot of people he knows or recognizes. Wow, big turnout. Not surprising, really. Still, knowing Andrea as a friend it's still all kind of just a cool experience to see how huge she is.

He makes himself as much a part of the crowd as possible, here to support his friend. Maybe meet a girl or something, who knows? He knows the big star, after all. Might work that in his favor, get backstage. The night is full of possibilities.

Rage has posed:
Once the stage is cleared, there is a low hum in the air and the feeling of static crackling for a moment as the speakers starts to slowly surge to life.  It's that feeling of the volume being raised without any sound coming from them.  That distinct 'hum'.   With the lights cut out, it creates an inky black of the stage before the crowd, but there is that growing hype of anticipation among the youth.  As the teenagers who crammed their way to the front lift their phones to record, there is a low wave of cheering and applause as they can see movement starting to make shape.

As the spotlights flash to life and whip around towards the stage, there is a shockwave of applause as Andrea is standing center stage in front of two backup dancers.  For today's show, she is dressed in a pair of white cut off shorts, a baggy hot pink t-shirt with the words: 'Mutie Cutie' written across a large white heart.  She has a red bandana tied about one wrist, as well as a number of colorful bangles on the other.  Her make-up is on point with a shimmery blue glitter over her eyes and her hair has streaks of color dyed along the tips.  She takes a moment to soak in the cheering before she thrusts one fist upwards as the music roars to life.

Just like any of her shows, Andrea moves along the stage like a well oiled machine, complimented by her backup dancers as she churns through the lyrics of her hit song, Electricity, from her new album.  The beat has a throwback retro vibe to it, one that was born for the 80's but made to sound current.  It's a great summer song which has raced up the charts.  The light show behind her is a cascade of colors which creates a magical ambiance to the entire performance.  Behind her is a large screen, flashing through images of a hot blazing summer, long drives down the freeway and romantic moments between a boy and a girl.  It's all part of the package and to sell the story.

Magneto has posed:
A man walks up the stairs of the stage to stand just off to the side of the stage in what could almost be called Off Stage and quite obviously out of the spotlights of the show now going on. He is dressed in a sleet gray tailored suit with thin pin stripes that almost seem to shimmer as they reflect the sun's light. His hands are clasped behind him as he stands alert but relaxed. His eyes move over the crowd. Those that know him well would probably recognize him if they got close enough to the stage, but the vast majority of people there would not recognize the king without his own version of the spear and magic helmet.

Blue Beetle (Kord) has posed:
Sipping his Jolt (Blue Raspberry, of course), Ted glances around, There are enough humans, or human looking mutants, that he doesn't really stand out. ANd no one really stands out to him as well... though his /glasses/ on the otherhand are much more observant than he is. Unseen except to him, a reticule lights up, highlighting persons of interest, matching their faces to their social media profiles or, in a few cass, law enforcement files.. including maaaaaaybe the databases of a few hero organizations. (they REALLY need to shut down those back doors)

But thats not what he is here for and he waves them away, his hand flittering out like he is trying to swat a fly... and stops as he hears the HUM of the speakers coming online and quickly moves his way to the rearward edge of the crowd. He's /way/ too cool (no he isn't) to groove to the msuic as the performers do their thing.. But he does record the whole thing with the camera in his glasses.

Wolverine has posed:
Finding himself a "semi private" spot to watch the show, Logan notices that Sam was here. His eyes find him in the crowd. And Josh, with a sideways nod, he notes he was here. That was when the music starts and Logan sits back with his cigar to enjoy the show.

Andrea was on point, and he had promised to be here, so he was here. Even though he was more into country music and the oldies.

As Logan starts to relax, listen and watches the show, Logan frowns as he spots Mags walking out. Why was he here....

Then. Logan sniffs something else. Wait a minute. That was impossible. Logan's eyes narrow, as the scent he was smelling was a woman who should not be alive. Naw. It couldn't be..."Carter." Her name was on his lips, whispered to make it real, but so far, Logan could not find her in the crowd. Shrugging, he realises it must have been a false positive, and he goes back to the show.

Phoenix has posed:
Even with training and skill, there's some things that are still overwhelming and hyped up, emotional crowds count right on up there. So with her own telepathic and empathic senses dialed down to a droning, crackling static in the back of her skull, it's no surprise to her when Jean is only aware of someone like Logan when she spots him in the crowd with her own two eyes. Her returning grin is quick and subdued but genuine before her eyes turn towards the stage as it comes to life.

"There's my girl." She mutters even if her voice is so lost in the roar of the crowd and the music that she'd be hard pressed to hear it.

As for someone else at the stage? She misses him. When your drowned out by the hum of standing next to the hive, you tend to miss that one particular buzz.

Peggy Carter has posed:
Some things never change. The hairspray she uses to keep those vintage waves in tact, they've been making it since the 40s and she still uses the same brand. And her faint vanilla and lavender oil perfume. It might not be Peggy Carter, but someone is sure as hell copying every inch of her scent and mannerisms. She, meanwhile, is unaware anyone could even realize she's there. Peggy is doing her best disappearing act in the crowd, as she gets closer to the stage.

A faint, appreciative smile crosses her matte red painted lips as she listenst to the performer, dark eyes polite enough to give the excellent show some attention. But that's not exactly who she's looking for. A glimpse of something back stage. A face she's surprised to see herself, but heard rumor might be here. She steps closer to the stage, watching patiently.

Elixir has posed:
Glancing around the crowd, feeling a bit antsy, Josh starts picking out his fellow teammates. The first he notices is the most dangerous man alive in a cowboy hat. He catches Logan's nod and tugs a hand free from his hoodie and waves. Then he sees Sam and waves his way as well. Then Jean. He waves her way while she is talking to someone else. "Annnd she's not looking," he mutters to himself before Andrea arrives on the scene and the crowd cheers. He turns, looks up towards the stage and smiles broadly, applauding his friend. As the lights flash and illuminate the audience, he just looks around in awe of the spectacle.

Mia Renault has posed:
Mia is here. Somewhere. Fountain drink in one hand. Sausage with the works in her other. Threading her way back towards the front rows - holding her treats up high over her head to protect them and any accidental victims. She's dressed for a concert, i.e. normally. Jeans, t-shirt, denim jacket - the rest irrelevant.

Nope, she doesn't look like a mutant, but looks means absolutely nothing. She knows next to nobody here, just the students she came with, and the performer on stage, by brief introduction and her works. Everyone knows her works. While the crowd roars and jumps up and down, Mia tries to get in a bite of her sausage, not quite joining in, except with her head nods and subdued protective dance moves.

Rage has posed:
When the song comes to an end, Andrea is standing in the middle of a blaze of lights along the floor and behind her, steadily breathing as her skin glistens with the shine of glittery make-up and her rising body heat.  She has on a wide grin her face as throws her hands upwards to cross them together at the wrists in the form of an 'X'.  As she rocks and sways side to side, the next song queues up, one that is more of her traditional pop from her second album.  Malibu.  Two years ago, this song was considered one of the hottest dance tracks with how steamy the lyrics were, as well as the music video that accompanied it.

Behind her one of the backup dancers strides up to her, shirtless and wearing a pair of torn jeans.  He's put his hours in the gym and has a clean shaved head and dark skin.  As his hands wrap around the midriff of the popstar from behind, they rock together in a sultry manner in practiced movements.  It's the type of dance that will cause mother's to panic and young girls to squeal and create rumors online.  So focused on the show, she isn't aware of the man who has made his way towards the stage, though there 'is' radio chatter among the security as James, her bodyguard, starts making his way towards Magneto in his suit and mirrored shades.

"Tell me how do I get over you --
When your eyes are so Pacific view, yeah
Falling deep into Curacao blue
And all your kisses taste like!
And all your kisses taste like!
Malibu!"

"I'm melting, I'm melting!
I'm melting, I'm melting into you!"

"Ooh baby, you left me tingling --
My nails so peach and the sea salt, sinking in
Ooh baby, I don't need anything --
It's all been beachy since you came crashing in -- "

The rest of the song continues along with the upbeat lyrics of a woman crooning out to her lover as she spins slowly and moves along in time with the man on stage with her, dipping down low, rising back up, hands gliding and exploring.  The crowd is into it, loud whoops and whoos rumbling through the young voices.

Wolverine has posed:
Relaxing a bit, at least, relaxing for Logan, Logan takes a deep inhale of his cigar, but keeps his eyes open for any other strange smell or vision. Shaking his head, Logasn can't shake the impression that Peggy Carter was here, even though that was impossible. Perhaps something for later. Squinting his eyes try to find her, to no avail. "Damn imagination. Just some frickin' hair spray and perfume. Hrm."

Looking back at the stage, Logan keeps his eyes on Mags, and then back to Andrea, and tries again to relax. It was hard for him, but he tries. Good tune...

There were lots of others present as well. Jeanie over there. Mia arrives. Josh and Sam. Kord, who he didn't know, yet. With all these people, it was obvious his senses were being overwhlemed. Yeah, that was it. Mistaken identity. That wasn't Pegs...

Magneto has posed:
Erik Lehnsherr waits paitently as a Andrea performs. He knows better than to just walk out there and interupt what the people want. As Andrea's bodyguard approaches, there appear to be some words exchanged, but the man takes a step to the side out of the way of Erik. After a few songs are preformed, he begins to make his move out of the shadows towards the front of the stage. He walks out slowly. Cameras swivel towards him and his image is put up on the big screen Andrea had been using only a few moments before. As he gets to the front of the stage, his clothes seem to ripple and shift. The pinstripes are actually metal with even more weaved into the suit. His jacket becomes a large purple cape that rises from his shoulders and drops back to his calves. The rest of his suit begins to change into the red and purple that the world knows as Magneto. The helmet is not visable at the moment, however.

"Citizens!" he calls out as one of microphone stands draws closer to him. "Thank you for coming out today. Forgive me for interupting, but it will be only a few minutes before I return you to the show! I have been known by many names, but you will know me best as Magneto!""

Blue Beetle (Kord) has posed:
Sadly, Ted is nowhere to be seen while this is happening because only a few minutes before he got a message that was quite urgent and had him running.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie was watching for a possible fight at the last song, but it was not Erik, Sam was watching for, no, he was checking the skies for a dive bombing jealous Guthrie. Once he knows his brother either was forwarned about he dance moves or aint got here yet, he relaxes a bit at least till Magneto makes his appearance complete with costume. Sam will start to make his way towards the front of the crowd in case things go south. He does make sure to give each of the other Xers a nod letting them know he is heading to the front.

Phoenix has posed:
Jean Grey was watching the concert and enjoying herself, even if she kept to her wall with only a bit of swaying to the beat. Still something nagged at her and kept her distracted, but it's only when Magneto himself walks on stage that a dismayed recognition dawns on her face. Now she does release her power, and there's a stiffening in her posture and a grit to her teeth as it comes roaring in. With it, she immediately reaches out to the minds she picks up in the crowd that are familiar lights in the storm - Logan, Sam, Josh, and even Andrea. She links their minds together, opening communication in a rush of awareness.

<< He was not on the guest list. Does anyone see anyone with him? >>

While she does that, she's getting her phone out to send an alert to the rest of the team who weren't present. High alert, be ready.

Elixir has posed:
Josh is just another person in the crowd, moving to the music and enjoying the atmosphere. Looking around and seeing everyone having a great time just feels good. He rarely gets out with his studies and becoming more active at the mansion again. Tonight was meant to just be chill. And then the show is interrupted.

Standing on his toes, he peers over the crowd. "Who invited Kanye?" he mutters under his breath when he sees who stole the mic. Ah shit. He knows there's not a darn thing he can do if things get out of hand except support in the way he knows how. He starts pushing forward through the crowd just in case. When Jean's voice fills his mind, he simply thinks back.

<< I can't tell. Trying to get closer in case things go south. >>

Prismatic has posed:
Former pro-human singer and occasional Andrea back-up instrumentalist Alexis Carr was in the audience, making her way back to Sam and bearing one of those Club Evolution T-shirts. She was glad enough to do some of the running and had been coming back with water for the group backstage when suddenly --

Magneto. She held her breath a brief moment, feeling a tremble through her body as she realizes what's going on.

The dark-haired performer drops her water, and begins to slip between people in an effort to make her way towards the stage, her eyes going wide.

Rage has posed:
Three more songs from Andrea is played and right before she is about to launch into another round, Magneto takes the stage! Her eyes widen as she steps to the side, staring at him before she feels the voice in her head from Jean. She swallows tightly despite taking a deep, heavy breath. She's slick with sweat, which only causes her make up to sparkle even more.

<< This wasn't part of the show, Miss Grey. >>

That's not very assuring, obviously. She stands her ground though on the stage, at a good distance of course. She isn't quite sure what to do, but she definitely looks nervous.

Mia Renault has posed:
Mia frowns. "Oh great...." Another person everyone knows. Mia had expected some fundraising level politics, but this was a whole different level. The frown deepens as she takes a sip of her drink and another bite of her sausage. Unfortunately, Mia is one of those people. Yes, those. Because she has no liking of divisive politics or grown ups with agendas that just <bleep> up the world, she decides to be a trouble-maker and starting audibly 'Booing' the interruption. "Get out of the way! Bring the music back!" Hopefully the rest of the crowd has the balls to join in.

Magneto has posed:
"Fellows, we come here to celebrate Mutant Culture and all that it is. Here, in Mutant Town, is one of the strongest concentrations of Mutants outside of my home of Genosha. As such, I consider this my home away from home. For every Mutant in the world is also a citizen of Genosha. Thank you for being who you are!" Magneto pauses as he looks about the crowd. The microphones have begun to hover and surround him to pick up his every word and broadcast it out over the crowd.

"Still, my friends, this celebration is not enough. Not enough by half. Mutants will never be truly safe in this world until we can meet Humanity on its own terms. This is not merely in a show of strength of might, but in strength of Business!" He pauses. "Strength of Art!" He pauses. "Strength of Culture!" He pauses one last time. "We need Mutants to be as strong as Humanity is and not ashmed of it. We will meet humans at the banks! At the museums! At the concerts!" He looks through the crowd and spots Sam. "We want Mutant Teachers that can teach everyone what it is like to be a mutant! We want Mutant Doctors and Nurses that know the differences we face as Mutants. We want these things now!"

Magneto pauses one more time as he listens to a few of the catcalls from the audience about bringing back the musick. "We declare our right on this earth to be a living being, to be a Mutant, to be respected as a Mutant, to be given the rights of a living being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary."

Peggy Carter has posed:
As that purple clad powerhouse -- sometimes literally -- comes on stage, Peggy's steps through the crowd go deadly still. What she suspected is true. He is right there. She doesn't move on inch, standing about 15 feet from the front of the stage, off to the right hand side of the crowd. Close enough to maybe be seen but, more likely, she's just another face is the confused and a little awed crowd. Peggy stands stiff and straight, dark eyes turned up to the familiar face on stage. Her lips rest in a line of silent, numb emotions. A mix of worry, memory, protectiveness... It all echoes in her eyes, as she listens to the man speak.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's arms crow a bit and he keeps his eyes on Magneto's face after a quick scan for acolytes or brother hood members. <Ah aint spotted any of them, but he has spotted me." He says when he realizes Magneto is looking at him. Sam does still have some respect for the man and lets him speak not trying to interupt, but ready if things head towards the wrong side of things. So far he is ok with what the man is saying.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis was still making her way to the stage when she hears a boo.

She turns to the figure starting to heckle Magneto, a concerned look to her face before she makes her way to the side of the stage, slipping past security and standing to the back of Andrea, wearing her bright orange Club Evolution shirt, and she looks to Sam, concern in her expression, her hands curling slightly at her sides, her heart pounding in her chest, then turning to Andrea's back, and then to Magneto himself.

Rage has posed:
As she listens to Magneto speak, Andrea gives her bottom lip a bit of a chewing, which most likely has her makeup designer crying backstage somewhere. She's going to ruin that popping lipgloss. Her hands give a bit of a squeeze, though she finds herself nodding along with him, almost as in agreement. Reaching up, she brushes her hair away from her face, then looks back out to the crowd as she holds her hands outwards in a bit of a 'shhhing' motion. Don't upset the shark on stage. Please? Thanks!

As her eyes glance towards the others as she hears their voices, she picks her old teacher out, Sam, then obviously the shiny form of Josh. Her heightened senses zero in on them and their positions, just in case she will need to move in coordinating with them.

Phoenix has posed:
<< He probably knows we're all here. >> Because Jean wouldn't put that degree of recon past him. She only lets a small trickle of her own annoyance and not having done the same leak through. Desk work has her rusty. She does notice Alexis moving through the crowd, and the poor music teacher is soon drawn into the mental connection, <<I sent an alert back to the team to be on alert. Don't aggravate him. This isn't the place for it. >>

She hears the mutant king's words, but her eyes, ears, and senses are tuned around her as she starts to move through the crowd. In doing so, she finds herself coming up one of her new students and there's a low hiss behind Mia as she cautions, "Don't egg him on. Be ready to get back behind me." But it's by Mia that she stops, holding her position for now and no doubt keeping close in the event she needed to protect her.

Magneto has posed:
Even as Magneto appeared, phone calls go out. As Magneto continues to speak at the North side of the block party, the swirl of lights and sirens can be seen and heard from the South. Moments after the noise is heard, police cars come around the corner followed by Emergency Service Vehicles of the NYPD. At the edge of the south end, the cars and vans begin to unload. Police officers in riot gear beging to form a line at the edge of the crowd. One officer with a bullhorn is climbing to top of the van.

"Attention! Attention! This gathering has now been declared illegal by the authority of the New York City Police Department! You are required to disperse or you will be depersed! You have ten minutes to comply." The man is quiet for a few seconds before repeating the call even as more and more police officers fall into line along the southern edge of the Block Party.

Magneto's gaze flicks up from the crowd to the line of police beginning to form. "And here! Here we have Humanity's power! They do not wish us equal! They want me to just stay on my island. Cause no trouble. Forget you! Forget my fellow mutants! Forget my brothers and sisters that did not ask to be born with a mutant gene, but have the right to exist! To persue Life, Liberty!" He gestures towards the back of the stage and now the famous helmet comes flying forward to come to rest on Magneto's head. "Mutants! Friends! Countrymen! I implore you. Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery."

Peggy Carter has posed:
"Oh dammit, you're just making it *worse*." Peggy mutters beneath her breath, looking askance at the line of riot shields on the edge of the crowd. She pulls back a bit, still staying off to the side, trying not to involve herself in either side of this mess but not fleeing yet. She's here to observe. To report back, to other authorities than the NYPD. Still, if there's any super hearing in the audience, someone might catch her murmuring into a hidden ear bud beneath the spill of her dark, curly hair. "...Erik Lehnsherr has shown himself at the mutant rally and NYPD are responding in force. I don't know if we have any way to call them off but...he's not doing anything but speaking. They are just playing into his narrative..."

Rage has posed:
At the sight of lights and sounds of sirens, Andrea gives a visible frown on her face. She gives a glance towards Erik, then brings her microphone up to her mouth. She takes a moment to think, then says through the speakers. "You don't get to come to Mutant Town and try to shut us down! You have /two/ minutes to get back in your cars and head back home! This is a peaceful rally of mutant rights! You will not treat us like the enemy!"

The wolf in her throat howls as her voice comes through powerfully. "We just want to be treated equally! Like everyone else! You can't take away our first amendment rights to free speech and protest!" She puts her fist upwards to the sky, chin lifted upwards, teeth bared outwards towards the enforcers of /man's/ law.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over toward Jean, and will think towards her <I have the permits for the gathering, should I make myself known and showing them the paperwork for theM?> He will look over to Alexis, and gives her a nod trying to reassure her.

Mia Renault has posed:
Mia starts to be a good girl. Heed the advise of....her elders? Then there's the sirens and Mia looks back and forth between the problem on stage and the problem towards the south end of 'mutant town'. Crumpling up what's left her sausage she tosses it at the nearest trash can along with her drink. Hands free, Mia points up at the stage, "You did this. Your fault." Her accusations likely drowned out with the force of the microphones, and the beginnings of random conversations starting. Not to mention Andrea's emotional retort. Mia begins to make her way, to the North, away from the police and away from the likely confrontation zone, "So much for a school night....." she mutters angrily under her breath.

Prismatic has posed:
<<Wasn't planning on it...>> Alexis replies, though there is a dour note. She was listening though, to Erik. Intently. And when Andrea turns, she breathes out a moment, turning to face the police officers, and she's split for a brief moment.

She swallows, and she goes to stand to the wolf's side, giving a pensive look to Sam as she does, and then out to police officers.

<<Be careful, Sam. They might not be in any mood to hear reasonable argument... is there a plan yet?>>

Phoenix has posed:
<< An international, wanted war criminal just showed up. They aren't likely to care about permits and peace. >> Jean says, not just to Sam, but to Andrea as her eyes shoot over towards the singer on stage. << Sam, Josh, Alexis; try and get those with young ones and the vulnerable away from the front line just in case this goes south. >>

And while she issues orders, her fists are unfurling at her sides. The light is incredibly subtle; a faint rose hue stretching from her to the ground, brushing along nearby buildings and lamp posts, creeping over power lines. It'd take someone of acute eye to spot it, but she's weaving her power, the groundwork for a shield. Jean isn't preparing to run, she's preparing to stand.

Magneto has posed:
"Disperse! This is now an illegal demonstration!" comes the voice from the bullhorn. The police line is pushing forward against the closed off streets. The make shift barriers are being pushed into the party goers at the south end. "Leave now!" the bullhorn answers Andrea back to the stage. A moment passes and then there is another answer to Andrea. The pop hiss of tear gas canisters being fired into the crowd. Plastic riot shields begin to push forward, ignoring some of the blows that begin to fall on them. Another tear gas canister goes flying as clouds begin to form in the middle of the crowd. Some of the lesser powered and humans among the crowd seem on the verge of panic as they try to pull away from the advancing police.

Magneto looks over at Andrea as she calls out into the microphone. He gives the young woman a nod as he begins to levitate over the crowd.

"If we are to ever gain our full recognition, we cannot back down!" He looks down at the crowd below him, and as such does not see police officers taking aim. There has always been the chance of a Magneto appearance in the city and as such all weapons are hard plastic and the bullets are rubbber. Magneto is struck in the chest by three rubber bullets and suddenly disappears into the crowd as he falls.

Peggy Carter has posed:
The moment the cops start taking aim, Peggy swears. "Call the NYPD dogs *OFF* if you can!" She hisses over her comm unit, but she knows that SHIELD's jurisdiction only goes so far. Especially when it looks like they are protecting supers. Then the guns go off and Peggy is running, high heels and cute little dress be damned. The crowd has broken into certain chaos, but she's good at crisis scenes. She's dodging people, trying to make her way towards the downed man and not away. Maybe to help. Maybe to finish an arrest. But she doesn't have anything out that looks threatening. Just worried eyes and fast feet.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will look over tot he people and says "Ok ladies and gentlemen, the preformance will continue inside Club Evolution, if you will make your way there we may have to alternate people in and out but I believe we can get most seeing more concert

Rage has posed:
As the police fire tear gas out into the crowds, Andrea's eyes widen in anger. There is a furious look that ripples through her, causing her body to shudder as she curls her fingers a bit. When Alexis joins her on stage, she lets out a hiss. "This is what he was talking about. You can't even have a damn conversation without them trying to shoot us, like animals. They'll never treat us like anything other than that."

When Magneto gets shot and hits the ground into the crowd, her eyes narrow, gleaming yellow and changing into a wolf's as she scans through the crowd, moving forwards towards the stage.

<< Jean! Magneto just went down! I'm going to get him out if I can! >>

There is the shredding of clothes, followed by the snapping of bones as the popstar turns beast, shooting upwards into her war form for all to see. The inky black fur ripples along her body, claws hooked and extended as her jaws snap open. Through the microphone nearby echoes her howl as it rumbles through the speakers in a terrifying manner. She leaps off the stage, landing as her nose snuffs hard as the crowd bolts away from her, giving her all the space in the world she needs as she lurches forward to where Magneto fell.

Phoenix has posed:
Tear gas and bullets are the breaking point for Jean. The tendrils of power she's been putting out snap taunt and around the concert gathering a nearly complete dome of brilliant pink light forms. Her compatriots would recognize it instantly. Most of her focus is on separating the police and their weaponry from the crowd, leaving the rear open so that the concertgoers can retreat. She may miss a few riot police, but anyone caught on the on the opposing side of the shield will be faced with the formidable force of Jean's will.

<< Do NOT engage the police! >> Her voice is rigid command in that moment, years of training grounding her emotions. << Get everyone out - Erik too! Don't let him get trampled. >>

As for her she stands her ground unwaivering, one hand out to focus on keeping the wall up and giving the others the chance to get out.

Prismatic has posed:
"Well bollocks." comes the resigned, but restraining to be unsurprised!

The microphones are dropped, Andrea shifts, and Alexis is left alone on the stage for a brief moment before she moves, catching up. She bodily lifts a teenager as she moves.

"All right ladies and gents, exit to the front of the stage! Follow the crowds! Keep your heads down an' arms crossed over the back a' your 'ead!" she calls out, issuing an order that gets carried through the microphone, and she turns, kicking at a guard rail until it gives way, and she begins to usher people through.

"Make your way out, ladies and gents, please remain calm!" she calls out, guiding others out. Her eyes begin to sting.

Magneto has posed:
Chaos is opening up. As the first shots are fired, more rubber bullets are also let loose. A few in the crowd are hit before Jean's shield drops down. The tear gas on the inside is spreading out and the cries of pain erupt as the crowd lurches away from the police. Once the shield drops, the police act like it is an attack. Bullets rattle against the shield as riot police are pounding on it with plastic shields and batons. More police flank to either side trying to find the edge of the shield.

The crowd parts as Andrea lands near Magneto. He is breathing and working on getting to his feet even as Peggy breaks through the crowd near the King of Genosha. Purple energy crackles around him as he works to his feet.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie sees his suggestion was to late at the bullets came out. He will move to climb on stage heading towards Andrea, and MAgneto "<I will get him out of here,> He offers knowing he can get Magneto away quicker than anyone since they do not have one of the teleporters near.

Peggy Carter has posed:
While Peggy is one of the sharpest of spies in the world, and a damned good SHIELD agent to boot, she's still just a woman. She's nothing in compare to the other people getting to Erik's side, or the spray of tear gas going through the crowd. She brings the silk scarf that was around her neck, neatly tucked into the collar of her shirt, up around her nose and lips, tying it behind her head in effort to shield from some of the worst spray. "Erik!" She calls. The echo of a British accent he's probably not heard in decades. But it's definitely her. And she's worried.

She's just reaching for him, trying to stretch out to help him up, offer a shield of her frame, when someone else is there. She stares up, blinking through stinging tears from the tear gas on the wind. He has his own people. Peggy's hands quickly raise in an non threatening motion.

Mia Renault has posed:
Mia continues to make her way out of the confrontation zone, away from the tear gas, hopefully North, still. She's orderly, jogging, pausing to help people as they stagger, or fall. She notices the crowd splits in their intentions. Some begin to slow and turn back, others ducking in to buildings, the rest continue on their evacuation. Mia decides on none-of-the-above and follows a smaller crowd heading down in to the subway, hopefully a faster retreat to somewhere safe. Using her mutant abilities never really entered her head, other than NOT to.

Rage has posed:
Leaning forward, 'Rage' scoops Magneto up into her arms, curling him against her large chest. Her ears are pricked upwards, fur along the back of her neck rised upwards. She is a snarling ball of furry anger. As Peggy stops in front of them, she stares at the 'human' for a moment before she bares her teeth, black lips pulling backwards.

~MINE~

She rises up to her full height, giving a loud, dismissive snort. Her snout is dripping now as her heightened senses are blown out by the tear gas, her eyes stinging, but she has a mission.

<< On the way towards you, Sammy. >>

She starts past Peggy, her tail swaying behind her digigrade legs as she makes her way towards Cannonball.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan, growling, keeps in the shadows and makes sure people are kept safe from the obvious misuse of force by law enforcement this time around. Not getting too involved, as popping his claws would mean some major wounds for those officers, he settles for keeping people safe. Especially any mutants he knows.

Magneto has posed:
The police are seeing they cannot get through Jean's shield and are beginning to back off. The few officers that were caught on the inside have knocked people down and hit them before realizing they were alone. Shields go up as they back off, but most of the crowd has panicked and run. The police form back into a knot ready for any kind of counter attack.

Magneto shakes his head as he is lifted by Rage. "I am alright," he manages to mutter out even as his mind goes to the sharp British accent he had heard for the first time in years. He looks back, but cannot focus as quickly as Rage is moving. As she moves towards Sam, he says "Put me down. I can't be seen as an invalid."

Phoenix has posed:
The rolling fog of stinging gas causes Jean's eyes to well up and burn, a few sharp coughs escaping from her as she filters away a few threads of her focus from the shield to try and push the gas up and away. Not far, but at least above the height of most to give them some breathing room if they stay low. She's backing away as she does it, yielding ground to the pounding hoard of police that she tries her best to keep out.

Her voice is silent though the link as she keeps her powers directed onto that shield but the presence of her seems all the louder as the chaos continues. As the seconds tick the rose light changes. Each sting of a bullet, each blow of a fist or hand seems to edge the light in an increasing shade of red. The protective hue begins to burn violent as Jean's eyes crack open to fix a dark, vitriolic stare at the riot police who have the grave misfortune to be on the inside of her shield.

This time Jean does speak. For all her mouth remains closed, something very much sounding like her but so very much louder growls within the smoky airspace of the dome. << This is no place for ~you~. Get. OUT! >>

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to Magneto, and says "Put your arm around me sir, you have protected me, time to pay it back, and get you out of here." He will try to give Magneto the most respect he can, and if the man takes the postition, the two of them will be off in a comet heading out and away. The young man taking Magneto to a place he knows he will be safe.

Peggy Carter has posed:
His people were taking care of him. Peggy frowns, stepping back into the crowd. She pulls her sunglasses up across her eyes, trying to protect from the wind and tear gas. She's not running with the chaos, but she's not moving to help either. The agent does her best to disappear into shadows, taking note of each face that helps. And each that fights.

Rage has posed:
Bark. Ruff. Growl. It's not like Rage can answer him. She turns her head down towards him and rumbles in warning. Suck it up, buttercup. She is moving at a blur's pace towards her once teammates, sliding to a stop before she finally looks to straighten Erik on to his feet. Her large paws are firm upon his shoulders, ensuring that he won't topple over just in case he's in pain.

<< Package delivered. Let's get him out of here. This better be worth blowing my cover most likely to the entire world for. Was a good run. >>

Once she lets go, she glances down at herself, then lets out a loud huff as her bones snap and crack once more, shifting down into a normal sized wolf. Her tail gives a few flicks, pawing at her nose.

<< I can't shift back, will be naked. I need a ride home. >>

Prismatic has posed:
"You were seen as 'shot out of the sky' a hot minute ago." comes another sharp British accent as the short, dark-haired girl gives a grumble as she looks to Andrea.

"C'mon then, Andi. Let's give your guard a call yeah?" she gives a wry smile to the wolf, and gives a huff.

Magneto has posed:
Much like the President being wisked away by the Secret Service, Magneto's replies to Sam and Andrea go unheeded as he is lifted by the young man and rocketed out of the area.

Police on the inside of the shield hear Jean's words and shake. They drop their shields and batons, backing up against the shield as best they can. Regular police officers are arriving now to replace the riot and Emergency Service officers as barriers are reestablished. The crowd that ran are not pursued. A few people are being handcuffed and dragged back to the van that had the misfortune of being pulled into the police before the shield went down. The man on the bullhorn is back. "Disperse! Return to your homes! Violence will not be tolerated!"

Mia Renault has posed:
Mia disappears down into the subway station, hopefully to take a line. Any line. She knows NYC enough to know which stops are public and safe. Times Square. That will do. Once aboard, Mia takes out her phone and sends out a few status updates to the School's open forums, verifying the address of the School to be safe and puts in an Uber request. The expensive likely more than her bank account has in it, but the overdraft protection covering it none-the-less. The trustees will deal with the how and why of it - not her problem. Her problem is keeping it together as the adrenaline disperses and lets the world come crashing back in.

Rage has posed:
Once Magneto is off to safety, Rage looks over towards Alexis and nods her head, then gives another snuff.

<< Miss Grey, Magneto is safe with Sam. Alexis and I are on our way out. Are you doing okay? >>

Her ears prick upwards, trying to search through the crowd as she uses her heightened senses to try and seek out her once head mistress through the crowd as she bumps her head against Alexis's legs.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan had been watching as Jean Grey's powers app up, drawing more and more power. Moving to stand near her, he can feel the waves of her power moving to surround her. His movements aren't stealthy, but everyone was distracted, so it is easy to assume that no one knew he was there. Grimacing at the raw power he was feeling, Logan tries to move closer to Jean.

Wincing from her commands to the law enforcement peeps, Logan tries to speak, but his words were muffled by the sounds of yelling and screaming, the commotion and chaos. Pushing himself forward through the pain, through the waves of power, Logan tries to put his left hand on her shoulder even though he knew the risk coming up to her from behind.

"Jeanie...it's ok. Everyone is safe..." His fangs were showing revealing the grimace, the pain he was under.

Magneto has posed:
As the concert and speech had continued, the sun had slowly set behind the buildings of the city. While not as tall as Manhatten, those here in Mutant Town still did their share of casting shadows. Street lights were beginning to pop on but the majority of light was coming from the flashing of red and blue from the police cars. Officers are flooding the area now and anyone just hanging out to obviously is going to get harassed if they catch the officers' eye. Tensions are high as just the appearance of Magneto had sent the NYPD into high alert. Hands are quick to fly if even slightly provoked.

Phoenix has posed:
The touch of Logan's hand is like an electric charge, and Jean spins her head around to face him with an initial snarling grimace. But it has the hoped for results. Logan does not get torched nor does anyone else, and the woman's dark eyes blink several times as if coming back to herself. The dome falters, hisses, and then collapses out as the light fades.

"L--Logan, what's..." There's a zip of a round that whisks just past her head and it rapidly evaporates whatever thought she had. "Let's go, lead the way." And Jean's moving to take off in whatever direction Logan leads, her prior command left in shambles and the woman moving on little more than autopilot. Those who haven't escaped are now left to fend for themselves.

Wolverine has posed:
With a nod, a snarl, and a quick move, Logan heads towards the safest route he could take with Jean under his "protection" even though it was probably the other way around. In moments they were out of the chaos, and away from the crowd who obviously did not want to tustle with the big ball of hair and cowboy boots.
