Cast of Characters: Gambit, Phoenix, Nightingale

Gambit has posed:
It's a rare moment when most everone in the mansion seems to have something better to do... So what is better then watching your favorite show on TV for the thousandth time? Watching it on a 72" Plasma natrually! The Cajun slides the DVD into the player and grins as he takes his seat and starts playing... Soon the catch riff of Mystery Science Theater 3000 starts playing and Remy opens a bag of popcorn.

Phoenix has posed:
Many of the adults seem to have the same ideas once darkness falls. When the students retire to their rooms, the teachers sneak out. Jean is one of those who finally emerges from her office. The smell of coffee precedes her as she steps over the threshold into the rec room. "Evenin, Remy. It's been awhile since we crossed paths, how've you been?"

She makes her way for one of the empty tables after plucking a puzzle box off of the shelf. "Figured I'd sneak in for some wind down time before heading upstairs. It's just a bit too early to hit bed, and I know as soon as I would I'd be out and then kicking myself for being up at three in the morning."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau chuckles a bit, "Especially if de good Mr. Summer's 'as one of 'is surprise 5 am training sessions planned non?" he asks with an amused smirk. On the screen Mike, Tom and Crow scream about the incoming movie and charge through the numbered doors. "Min' if ah ask yah a personal question chere? If yah tell me ta screw off, Ah won' be offended."

Phoenix has posed:
The roll of Jean's eyes is carefully measured and barely noticeable as she pops the lid off of the box. "After all of these years, I barely notice the hour. At least as long as the coffee pot is brewed and ready. If there's no coffee, then that's a different story."

She does tip her head slightly at his mention of a personal question. She seems to consider it for a split second before gesturing with her hand, "Sure, what's on your mind, Rem'? I promise I will probably not send you through a window." She tacks on with a grin.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a little bit, "Ah'll take mah chances." Still he considers his words carefull before saying, "So Ah consider mahself a pretty good judge of, what de fairer sex migh' consider attractive an' c'n freely admit dat Ah c'n see why women migh' fin' Scott attractive physically... But 'e always seem ta draw de attention of a specific type of woman. Telepat's. Was curious what de appeal dare is."

Nightingale has posed:
The aroma of fresh, hot buttered popcorn wafts through the rec room, borne on angel's wings in a large glass mixing bowl. Well, perhaps not entirely on angel's wings. Perhaps more like pink satin two-piece pajamas, floofy Old English Sheepdog slippers, -and- angel's wings. Shuffling to a dead stop, Shannon just catches the words 'personal question', and turns as if to head straight back out....

Phoenix has posed:
"Hmf, you always take your chances. It's what makes you, you."

One red brow lifts a notch as Jean rolls the then-asked question around in her head. "Telepaths hear all of the thoughts around us. Take me for example. I hear you, I hear the staff, I hear the kids and the emotions and drama they think no one knows about, I hear Shannon in the hall thinking now is probably a good time to run before anyone notices her. My empathy just amplifies it all, but I hear it even though I try to keep it out most of the time because most of it isn't my damn business."

"It's overwhelming, Remy. It's chaos, and there are days you almost can't keep your own thoughts straight. Stability is everything. A calm, steady mind in a storm. A haven, a safe place, a way to find balance. Telepaths don't need danger and excitement and charming speeches. One might see boring, others see strength. I'll let you make of that what you will."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau snickers just a little bit as she calls out Shannon for eves dropping but nods a bit, "Suppose dat makes sense," he says with a nod then moves over to look out the doorway at the winged girl. "Watchin' Hobgoblins for de umpteent' time, care ta join us petie.?" he offers amused.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just rolls her eyes as she is semi-discreetly called out by Miss Grey. Busted! Well, there was nothing for it now. Ambling on in as casually as she can, she just smiles at both her and Mr. LeBeau, one wing extended by way of a wave. "You know, Miss Grey, it's going to be nearly impossible to surprise you come Christmas time," she teases the headmistress, cracking a small smile at her.

Peering over at Remy, she grins and nods. "Mystery Science Theater 3000? You had me at that, couyon." She's quite content to nudge a beanbag over with her foot, flop down nearby, and put the popcorn bowl in the middle where all three can share.

Phoenix has posed:
"They say opposites attract and that's probably for more of a reason than a reference to magnets. No one is perfect. So keep those around you that fill those things that you're missing. Teams are for more than the battlefield." Jean adds quietly before looking over to Shannon as she enters the room. There's a grin on the woman's face as she shrugs. "Consider it a challenge. Outsmarting and surprising a telepath is a good skill to hone."

She'll trail off as she goes about beginning to sort out pieces by color and edging. It's not a large puzzle, maybe a two-fifty one.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks just a little bit and there is a flicker in his eyes as the Cajun is obviously thinking of someone in perticular but then shakes his head. "Ah dunno, Ah always liked 'aving a woman who could give as good as she got, yah know?" he asks amused. "Gimmie a lil friction any time, ot'erwise what de point?"

Nightingale has posed:
"Oh gawd. Dating talk." My, my, is that a trick of the light, or is the winged one's face darkening a shade or two? With Shannon's wings furling in front of her to hide a good portion of her face, it could be difficult to tell. "So ummmm... while we're on the subject, anybody have any idea what's playing in theaters this weekend...?" Not that there was really a reason to know--was there?

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau raises an eyebrow athis young protogie's question, still he sighs and just shakes his head slightly, "Ah'm pretty sure dat movie wit' all de 'sposions in de trailer opens dis weekend." he offers and then turns back to watch the screen. "Kids."
