Walk and Rooftops
Date of Scene: 25 September 2020
Location: East Park Side (Crime Alley), Old Gotham
Synopsis: Red Robin and Sparrowhawk (Phoebe Beacon) apprehend some Wild West-themed robbers!
Cast of Characters: Sparrowhawk, Red Robin

Sparrowhawk has posed:
It was raining in Gotham. Lightning had the occasional overhead flash and boom, calling out to those who lived in the city below. The rain-slicked surfaces could be considered perilous to those who would protect it from the ills its society has bred. Thunder had the capacity to blind those with low-light vision in their dominos... like Sparrowhawk.

Which would be why she was currently perched on the side of a building, staying still as rain drops fell off the front of her hood.

"So... in the event that something goes wrong in the field, I don't suppose there's an IT number to call, right?" she inquires in a soft voice, knowing that Red Robin was close.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake chuckles a bit to this. He has learned to find the spots with a bit of a over hang for perches on nights like this. "1-800 Red Fixs" He jokes a bit with her, and says "Back a couple feet and to your let, you should get a bit more cover from the storm." He offers to her. He looks over the city, keeping his eyes on the city most of the time. "Having an issue?" He asks, in concern.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"I think the last lightning flash threw off one of the photoreceptors" Phoebe replies, slowly moving back along the ledge to her left, where a winged gargoyle provides some cover.

"The domino hasn't returned to normal low-light vision, all I can make out are outlines."

Running face-first into a wall goofing off before heading out to patrol probably didn't help things either, but hey.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and says "Ok know it sounds lame, but try a reboot on it." He offers her. He will have to run a diagnostic on it when they get home. "You will want to run it on the lower setting during stormy nights, does not brighten up as much but keeps the lightning from whiting you out." He studies her for a moment, and says "Storms provide a new element to the patrols."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Rebooting, keep an eye on me." Phoebe has a wry note of humour in her voice as she leans her head forward, reaching her gloved fingers into her mask.

"-- aaand turning low light down a little. You know, I often wondered how you managed to get around Gotham while the weather was bad" she comments, reaching up to the side, and drawing herself to a stand she raises her grapple, and fires it off. She swings through the air, ever more graceful, and lands on another rooftop with a neat little 'tap'.

"What's your location, Red? Things are quiet on this block."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake watches her from his spot a bit higher up and to the north of her. Up two blocks north and twelve stories up from where your at." He tells her so she can see where he is. He will throw a R over about 10 foot to his left and it will flash for a moment, to let her get her bearings, but only flashes the once. "I can see you pretty well."

Sparrowhawk has posed:
She cathes the flash, and she gives a slight smile beneath her mouth guard. She shifts her weight, turning and coming over to the side of the building, peering down into the street.

Then there is a rush of breath, and the sound of air leaving a body hard before Phoebe's body gives a lurch to the side!, her hands coming up to her neck -- someone has lassoed the young heroine!

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks over as she jerks. He will follow the motion, to see who or what has made the attack. He reaches to his belt, launching a grapple to head over towards her, but keeps to the shadows, counting on his offset light to keep anyone who is targeting him busy as he heads towards Sparrowhawk.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
IT's a man, a hair taller than Tim, wearing a black western-style outfit -- chaps, shirt, cowboy hat, everything.

Phoebe is in no real danger; the collar beneath her cowl is protecting her neck, but she's drawn forward in surrise and draws down to one knee, trying to get the lasso's loop off her neck.

"Hooo-ee! Looks like I cought myself a little sugar of a baby bat!" he calls out, bringing his hips to his sides and drawing a gun out of his holster.

"Do yourself a favor, pretty lady, and stay on your knees. That alarm you're gonna hear from the store below is jus' gonna keep ringin'."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will have to make sure to put some type of bladed point on her gloves. He will survey the scene as he comes in, a R thrown at the rope to give Sparrowhawk a hand. It says something with how sure his throw is in this weather, it pays to practice practice practice. "Looks like you have a cowboy, would watch for the rope, 6 shooters, and maybe some type of cattle prod." He offers to her "New in town, aint got any facts on him, you got it or need help?"

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Thunder rattles overhead. The cowboy has a smug grin, his grip tightening on the rope before the R, illuminated by lightning, slices through the rope.

Sparrowhawk hops to her feet, and she grasps the cut end of the rope, and moves quickly, moving around to an AC bank for cover as an alarm rings out beneath them.

"Probably more below. I can handle the Lone Ranger if you want to check down for trouble."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake shows her trust, as he swings on down to get a look at what shops are below, checking for activity in them. The young hero is ready to deal with most anything half expecting more cowboys to be up to something here, or maybe a construction worker, a Native American, and a sailor.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
The shop below does not have the rest of the Village People.

Instead, it looks like someone's Country Goth group broke into a pawn specializing in -- what else -- weaponry and military supplies. There are a trio inside -- all wearing black cowboy clothes, wearing cowboy hats, and masks over their faces as they begin to break in and grab all the guns and ammo they can.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will throw a few smoke pellets into the room before he enters after the men. Using the same entrance they did. He moves inside in the smoke, but instead of a straight forward attack, he will low move to get to the back of the men as he expects them to turn in the smoke.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"HEY! WHat the--" Meenie calls out.
"Who turned off the lights?! Miney calls out, turning around and swinging with the butt end of a rifle, and striking the third in the line as Moe cries out in mixed alarm and confusion as the rifle butt hits him. There's the sound of a pair of gunshots above, but no sort of sound coming over Phoebe's mic.

The three caught in the smoke are confused, and trying to find their way around the room!

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake does worry a bit but he has to trust in the woman, if they are going to work on this. He brings his staff up and gives Meenie a swat with it. He is silent and moves quickly, with Miney's strike, he sees if he can set the three against one another, in the shadows.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"Owww what the hell was THAT for?!" Meenie calls out, assuming Miney hit him, and he turns and strikes out at his partner. There's a sharp CRACK as the rifle barrel strikes Meenie, Miney whirling around and turning to clobber Moe. Might have been better to name them after a certain other slapstick trio. Their troubles continue the more that they get angry at one another -- until a stray bullet nearly makes its way to Tim as one of them pulls a trigger!

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake frowns and will dodge it, and needs to stop them quicker now. He steps in, staff moving from wrist to wrist to make the men drop their fire arms. He plants a kick to Meenie's chest, trying to knock the breath out of him, and stun him at least if it does not take him out.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"UGH!" Meenie goes down, the breath knocked out of him as he tumbles against an ancient bereau, and goes down hard!

THe smoke is clearing -- "IT'S A BAT!" one of them croaks out, and Miney and Moe turn, and unsure of if their firearms are even loaded, opt for the up close and personal as the guns get dropped.

Miney attacks first, trying to Haymaker Red Robin back into the wall, as Moe grabs up a chair and attempts to crush in Robin's side.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake dives to the side away from the chair, with a tumble bringing him up under Miney's punch. With them in close, his own best chance is melee as well. He brings an uppercut on Miney as he comes up from his tumbling roll/

Sparrowhawk has posed:
POW! The chair slams the wall, breaking into roughly a dozen pieces, and Moe gives a grunt. Miney tries to turn around -- but is met with an uppercut, square to the jaw. There's a CRACK! and he goes slamming back.

Then there's just Moe. Moe who is shorter and broader than the other three.

He takes a couple steps back from Red Robin, and then goes "ah... can I just sit quietly and wait for the police?"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks to him, and says "Hand's behind your back, to get the cuffs on, want have to hog tie you." He tells the man, and over the subvocal he asks "How are things up top Sparrowhawk?

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Moe nods, and turns around to put his hands behind his back in surrender.

    Sparrowhawk replies, a little breathless:

"Oh, you know, had to save this idiot from falling down a building and cracking his head open."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will get the three secured, as he asks her "Want to bring him down to put with his three cohorts, and then, maybe hit the noodle bar, for a snack?" He keeps this low so only she can hear. He does look around seeing if anything seems odd about the scene that remains.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
At that, right in front of the entrance, one black-clad cowboy will be lowered from a rope.

"Oh man, that sounds great. Left my wallet in my pants though -- we'll have to head back to change." she states over their coms.

THe unconcious cowboy is hanging by his ankles and his legs, rope bound around his thighs and hips like a climbing harness. He's pretty secure, and really unconcious.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will secure the other three to the Cowboy. Then he brings his grapple up to shoot up to where Sparrowhawk is, and says "Well off we go." He tells her as he puts in the call to GPD to come pick up the goons.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
"And that's that?" Sparrowhawk inquires, her eyebrows rising up, fingers curling a little as she rubs at her neck, getting the rope fibers out of her hood.
