Cast of Characters: Catwoman, Sparrowhawk

Catwoman has posed:
Late night and a Saturday night at that. Stores are already starting to close in this area of town, eager to get home to their families this chilly autumn night. But there is activity going on in a particular little jewelry store, and if one is especially observant, they might just notice that something is wrong..Perhaps it's the way that there is hurried shadowy movements going on inside, or the fact that the lights are still off. Whatever the case, it's suspicious.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Phoebe Beacon. University student at Gotham U, Level 3 Intern at Wayne and likely being moved into R&D under Tim Drake-Wayne at some point in the near future, was about to step back into the subway. It was difficult being away from her home turf without Tim's presence, and even worse when she wasn't in the suit. She had paused, admiring a bauble in the window a brief moment before she saw shadows on the inside. HEr eyes narrow, and she feels a lump in her throat -- she should call Tim. Or Babs. Or Dick ... or Batman. ... or more likely the police, New York city was weird like that.

And instead, she ducks down the alleyway and takes a look to see if the door had been rigged open.

Catwoman has posed:
The door has indeed been rigged open, but if there was an alarm triggered, it has since been taken offline..Or simply smashed. But this cat burglar is somewhat sloppy, not as subtle quiet as some cat burglars and way too eager to grab as much as they can in the sack they brought.

The figure pauses only briefly, enough for Phoebe to catch a glimpse of a female outline, dressed in black skin tight patent leather...With cat ears..

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Phoebe had, in transition, at least dug out a domino to hide her face -- not that there's a whole lot of young black women who would be carrying one in a very notable laptop case with her work computer in it.

"I'd reccomend you put back what you're grabbing." she states, and she reaches out.

The room lights up as brilliant blue-white light gathers at her palm.

"... or... I'll have to do something neither of us will like."

-- leather... cat ears? Who in New York would wear something like THAT?

Catwoman has posed:
The sudden blinding light is what catches her attention and startles her enough that she freezes for a moment, like a deer caught in headlights...But it seems that the thief is not alone. She is accompanied by a giant, growling panther and it snarls at her now, slowly stalking towards Phoebe.

"Oooh, and who are you, little brat?" she grins wickedly, slipping the pearl necklace in her pouch before pulling out an electric whip, purring, "Turn a blind eye right now, and I might just spare your life...Otherwise.."

She snaps her whip against the floor, crackling with deadly electricity. "Looks like the odds are against you, miss..What'll it be?"

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Phoebe takes a step back as the panther stalks forward, and she gives a soft 'Nice kitty...' as she draws her gaze up.

"Are you kidding me? Catwoman? In NYC? Or maybe just some poor imitation since the real one wouldn't be robbing such a little place!" she states, and the light expands into a staff, her eyes narrowing behind the paper domino. She swings one foot out, though limited by the skirt she was wearing, she could still fight.

... she's... just never fought a jeweltheif armed with an electric whip and a large feline before. But hey.

Tim can yell at her later.

Catwoman has posed:
The woman smirks, stroking the length of her whip with her clawed gloved hand. "Please. Who else hold I be but the *real* catwoman?" dark brown eyes gleam wickedly as she nods to her panther, "Deal with her." she says simply as she continues to suck through jewels, taking her time.

The panther snarls, eyes flashing dangerously red...Wait, are they glowing? It snarks and rushes and leaps at Beacon, attempting to pin her to the ground...It's fast, and strong..And definitely not your average cat..

Sparrowhawk has posed:
And Phoebe is not your average girl!

She moves quick, trained, and she brings her glowing staff down. She knows she's on a timer with the staff glowing. The red-eyed panther snarls, and as the creature rushes and leaps, Phoebe ducks down, sliding forward and brings her staff up and under, nibly pushing herself forward and the fline back towards the door.

"Bad kitty!" she snarls in response!

Catwoman has posed:
The feline is quite strong, and in ordinary circumstances, Phoebe would probably stand little chance..That light staff however seems to repel the creature of the night. It shrieks, stumbling back, not exactly wounded or even shoved back with a lot of force but for that light..

Still, it snarls and swipes out at her with a set of powerful, razor sharp claws, moving at eye blurring speeds.

The Cat Lady meanwhile, continues to load her pockets with gemstones, "Mmm you'll look delightful around my neck.." she purrs.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
    The staff hurt it?!

Phoebe narrows her eyes as she braces as the cat returns. She turns her staff, blocking one of the blows, but the second hits her, swiping across her jacket, claws digging into her side as she cries out.

She stumbles back a little bit, gritting her teeth... and shen she 'breaks' her staff in two escrima, and then she goes to work. Quick blocks, dodges, feignts. She doesn't move quite like Nightwing, quite like Red Robin --

... but that fighting style might be familiar. If Catwoman can take her eyes off the gems for a couple of moments.

Catwoman has posed:
The Cat Lady smirks as she does indeed watch the little exchange..But she is unfamiliar with the moves of Nightwing and Red Robin, having never met either of them..Of course she's heard of them but that's another story. She takes her time to fill her sack full of priceless gemstones and lazily stalks closer to the fight, idly picking out her exit. but why not enjoy the show fir a few moments longer..?

And Phoebe certainly is talented, but talent and skill will only take you so far. This is no ordinary panther Afterall, wickedly fast and strong, it dodges many of Phoebe's strikes, even as she manages to land a couple if critical blows. Enough to bruise the creature, slow it down if even a little.

But it apparently has incredible endurance, still plotting through, leaping nimbly and swiftly here and there, attempting to confuse its opponent with quick leaps to higher levels and striking and lunging down on her with powerful claws.

"Little light girl, I wonder how long you'll last?" purrs the Cat Lady as she closes her pouches, getting ready to leave. This is an amusing show but it's getting late.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
The young Batling shifts her weight around, blocking, striking, trying to wear down the creature before her powers wear out -- and that gash at her side is healing already. Blood kisses the cloth, but her dark skin is totally clear of any injury!

Phoebe hears the tease, and she narrows her eyes a moment before she hooks her ankle around a chair, and slings it at the feline!

"Long enugh!" she growls, and she uses a table as a jump point, trying to bring those two light sticks down on Catwoman herself!

Catwoman has posed:
"Silly girl, you should have quit while you were ahead!" the Cat Lady smirks as she watches her moves. Impressive but ultimately futile. She is pretty fast though herself, and easily dodges Phoebe's incoming attack, snapping out her electric whip to try to shave the girl at the ankles and trip her up, electricity cracklings along the length of her whip.

"You're way out of your league...Shadow, finish her!" she snarls and the panther is only too happy to comply, still moving as swiftly and powerfully as ever, it's muscular body recoiling and lunging at the girl with outstretched claws at the same time, attempting to tackle her to the ground, to dig razor sharp claws into her skin and pin her again to the ground.

Sparrowhawk has posed:
Tim is definitely going to yell at her.

And she growls out herself, trying to turn herself, catching on a vent overhead -- but it's not enough. Phoebe screams as the electricity rips through her body, her healing aura not enough to cover the paralyzing attack before she falls to the ground. THe breath was gone from her body, her dark eyes wide as she staired up at the ceiling --

And she was defenseless as Shadow came down, razor sharp claws digging into her dark skin at her shoulders, pinning her down to the ground as she chokes out another cry, feeling blood pool at the knife-like claws.

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman smirks as she heads for that same vent overhead, clicking her tongue. "Poor misguided fool..You thought you could top me, but you were sorely mistaken.." she laughs again, tossing back her head, a lock of red hair escaping from her cowl. "Co e Shadow, she's not worth our time..The night is still young and there are plenty more places to rob. Let her remember her defeat at the Cat Lady's hands!"

With a last defiant cackle, she swings up to latch her whip onto the vent and kicks it open, quickly vanishing inside and escaping to the outside world, the black panther hot on her feet...

Sparrowhawk has posed:
By the time the police would arrive, Phoebe would be gone, no sign of her presence other than a little blood and an abandoned shoe as the heroine slinked away, defeated and doubting as she made her way through the subways back to Gotham City, knowing that she was going to have to answer for operating outside of her 'designated zone'... but as she flicked through her phone, she frowned.

    Panther eyes shouldn't glow...
