Cast of Characters: 1075, Batman, Superman

Graydon Creed (1075) has posed:
Meanwhile at the hall of justice.... The sitting U.S. Senator for the great State of New York shows up at the reception desk, introduces himself and asks, "Are Superman or Batman available? It's not an emergency, but I would like to speak to them if they have the time. " he says as he offers the receptionist his senate I.D. Nice and vague so none of the people taking the tour will snap twits of him like that unfortunate incident at hot topic.

Batman has posed:
The person at the desk nods to him. "Well sir, we can't really contact them directly. I think Gotham has a way for the Batman, but.." they then fall quiet and looks down as a voice comes behind you.. "Senator.. you are a long way from home." there was no sound behind you, but now out of the blue a man is standing behind Creed looking down at him with a look of determination, and anger. He looks through the Senator as he just falls back to quiet. with the cloak drawn around him even here in the light there is no doubt that this man isn't the sunshine and happy type of hero. He doesn't move towards you any more, or even look like he is attacking or anything, but the chattering around them as stoped as a lot of the tourist that have been taking pictures of the place stop. Some out of fear of just seeing the Batman in person, and some out of the shear curiousity about what is about to happen, and though no-one takes a photo in the silence one person whispers.. "What the.. My camera isn't working."

Superman has posed:
Down from one of the walkways leading to the public observatory, Superman drifts down. He had heard someone ask for him and he was inclined to just let it pass by, btut eh immediate request for Batman followed by the receptionist's 'cover' has the kryptonian curious, at the very least. Hearing Batman disable cameras - which really is such a HIM move - Superman steps from the second floor railing, not able to suppress the faint grin.

"Batman. Senator," greets the bullet-proof alien as he lands lightly but not silently. Superman's polite, but the sunshine warmth of his usual demeanor has a hint of partially cloudy to it; easy enough to see for those that know him well.

"Good afternoon."

Graydon Creed (1075) has posed:
Creed is there dressed in one of his many, many, overly expensive custom tailored suits with the silver undershirt that helps provide protection against energy weapons. Armored clothing is all the rage among world leaders. He looks like he always looks, as if he just stepped out of a catalog or TV ad. Perfectly modeled to appeal to the masses with his perfect teeth, flawless skin and the best features money can buy. He is a real testament to how far the beauty industry has come. At 6 foot tall he isn't quite as big as Superman but he's in good shape and seems to be unarmed. He carries with him a briefcase with several old style folders in it and a modern portable hard drive.

When Batman sneaks up behind him, (How the hell does he do that?!) Creed tenses, ready for a fight before his brain catches up to his body then he smiles and turns around to look at Batman. Somehow he manages to be just as bright and optimistic as Batman is grumpy and angry. It's a war of presence. The out-going, smiling, happy, cheerful, politician vs the living stormcloud that is Batman. The problem for Batman is he spends most of his time doing actual kung-fu but presenting an image of being a positive, fearless, powerful leader is Creed's kung-fu, finally honed to a razor's edge. "It's such an honor to meet you!" he says, "I have heard about the work you do in Gotham. I hear that the death toll from crime in your city dropped by hundreds over the last few years. A few more thousand to go and you can retire! Small progress is still progress, am I right?" he asks then he looks over to Superman, "Ah, just the Alien I wanted to see. I have some issues to speak with you about. Paper-work mostly but I thought I would come personally. I've never actually toured the Hall of Justice. This is amazing! " he says beaming. "If it isn't too much of a bother, could I get a behind the scenes tour? I would be ever so grateful." he asks.

Batman has posed:
Batman is quiet as he talks, and frowns more at him as he tries to talk about the great things he have done. He says nothing but moves past him further into the Hall of Justice. "If your here just to waste my time with platitudes then I wouldn't contact me again." starting to walk off again. He doesn't respond at all to the complements or even look like he enjoys hearing them as he is moving to the stairs to go up to the second floor as well. That is until he hears Superman being called an Alien. He stops, and turns.. "Alien.. that is strike two senator.. He has done more for this country then you have, and you treat him like an outsider." his voice has a bit of a harsh tone on it. "Forget the tour if you have a point I would get to it quickly." with that he turns again starting to continue his walking away,

Superman has posed:
The upbeat peppy friendliness of the Senator puts Clark's reporter senses on alert. Politician sounding like he wants a thing. Especially when using it to counter Batman's Broody. Superman folds his arms over the lower part of his S, waiting, watching, listening. It's the only reaction he has at being called an Alien.

The Senator isn't wrong, after all. He wasn't born in Kansas, the United States, Earth. He is an much an alien as someone undocumented finding their way here. They are called 'alien' too, after all. It's Batman's defense of him that while isn't out of character is surprising for when and where and to whom. Superman turns his gaze to his friend, teammate, for a moment before looking back at the Senator.

"Why are you here, Senator?" asks the Kryptonian, finding and presenting a level tone that would make Pa Kent proud the tone being firm but not harsh, warm but not overtly friendly, cool and calm but not cold nor distant. Clark's hear Pa use this tone more than once, when someone particularly unpleasant was at the door.

Graydon Creed (1075) has posed:
Holding out the briefcase to Superman by it's end so Superman can take it the Senator says, "You need to look over these. I thought I would make your life easier by letting you finish the paperwork yourselves but if you don't have time to help, I understand. It'll get done either way. Paperwork always does. I thought you might want to be involved. Take a look and give my office a call if you have any questions." he says waiting for Clark to take the briefcase. He doesn't look back at Batman yet letting him brood and be angry while the Senator takes care of business.

Inside are the data files and recordings from a government run experiment done in the 1990's where they tried to create a "Cure" for mutants. The technology just wasn't up to the task a the time but with the advances made since then, it's only a matter of time before the cure works. A retro-virus what will suppress the mutant genes for a period of time. If used regularly, it would make a person completely human as long as they took the medication. At the time the politics of the cure were way, way to volatile so someone made up a story linking the cure to mad-cow disease and it was locked away, forgotten about, until Creed found it. Now they have it. A way to depower criminals, if they can make it work. He's giving it too them, no strings attached...

Batman has posed:
Batman lets him walk to clark, and if he walks behind him he does so without making a noise so is he even back there? That is soon answered after Creed finishes speaking... Batman begins, "I would not open that if I were you." he says to Superman carefully, as he walks past Creed. "Not because he is a politician, Not because he speaks to others like they are his tools." he turns standing next to Superman, "I know that look.. It is the same eyes of a man in Arkham. I will never work with you, or your people towards anything not even this." he glances at the briefcase. He knows he is speaking a lot here, but continues as the anger from just seeing him seems to brood up as he approaches the man. His height seems to get a bit higher, though is that just shadows, as he approaches him looking down at him. "You wish to make the world to your liking, control it by dismissing the things you do not like. I will stop you.. I will show up while you sleep.. And I will stop you."

Now of course, Batman doesn't normal move this aggressivly out in public, nor does he speak this much. Superman would know that, and the public might know it. There is not a word from those down stairs, and actually the person at the desk seems a little.. worried. Batman glares at you, and it is hard to tell what he is thinking though in just a moment he spins around his cloak whirling behind him he walks away from the situation to calm down. He says nothing else just broods as he walks away from them, the senator had hit a nerv.. something that upset him greatly. Though what it is still is unknown.

Superman has posed:
The suitcase hold out to him, Superman's arms unfold but there is, as of yet, no move to take or accept the information there in. Rather, Superman is regarding the briefcase as if it were singularly interesting. Page by page, Superman reads the documents in the time it take Creed to make his full offer and for Batman to return and start Batmaning the Senator. THe sheer amount of words coming from the normally succint Leader Founder draws Superman's gaze, last page read.

Batman is upset.

A moment spent to watch Batman turn to go, Superman turns back to Creed, hands relaxed at his sides.

"If you would like a tour, Senator, that group is getting ready to move on again. Otherwise, I thank you for your visit," says the League's public face, a step taken to put himself between Creed and his friend. It's a dilberate move and one that could be read as any number of things. It could be Superman protecting Batman from Creed, or (more likely of these two) Superman protecting Creed from Batman (for the moment). It could be Superman barring Creed further access to the innerds of the Hall of Justice, or it could be Superman setting himself up to zip Creed out of the Hall in as close to a straight line as possible. Maybe, it's just Superman taking over where Batman had been.

Graydon Creed (1075) has posed:
Sen. Creed steps back a few feet from Batman. He's scary even to Creed, "Whoa there, Batman, it's me, Senator Creed!" he says holding up a hand in mock surrender as Batman whirls away. The Senator takes the case and slides it onto the receptionist's desk. "I'll just leave these here for him to look over when he's more stable. You should really keep him on his meds." he says to Superman then smiles, "I'll let you go deal with him before he punches someone, have a good day, Superman." Turning to go the Senator waves to the crowd and says, "Don't worry folks. He's fine. Just having a bad day. We all do, right?" Leaving the crowd to wonder, is Batman is on meds? Is he unstable? Why is he threatening a Senator? What is he hiding?
