Wrong Place, Wrong Time: Hunori & Alexis Edition
Date of Scene: 05 October 2020
Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Synopsis: Lex bumps into Hunori and Alexis.
Cast of Characters: Prismatic, Lex Luthor, Hunori Seong

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis Carr was typically found adjacent to Mutant Town, though she was investigating and poking around at recent attack of an anti-mutant group by anti-anti-mutant-group groups. It was getting a bit messy.

The young woman was wearing her black bolero jacket over an atheltic top and some jeans, looking rather casual as she tried to figure what to do before she called it a day and headed back to Salem Center on the M line.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Brooklyn has always been a hotbed of crime. Mobsters, gangs, and independents taking advantage. Activity here is up and down.

It is, perhaps, no surprise, that deals and turf wars happen all the time here, then.

Tonight... is no different.

As the two get near an apartment complex, there's a loud *OHGODI'MGONNADIE* kind of scream. It's pretty distinctive too... and coming from the second floor, central.

Hunori Seong has posed:
For Seong 'Hunni' Hunori, New York was still rather fittingly new. The young woman herself had still been getting the lay of the land and aside from encounters with uncouth aliens on motorcycles? Things had been pretty calm. Booklyn? It was certainly different, but it was the direction the wandering woman's feet had taken her. Maybe she knew of the reputation for crime and gangsters and intended to start small...but it was just as likely she'd gotten a little lost again.

Dressed casually in a hoodie jacket and jeans, Hunni's gaze was sweeping the street and taking in the sights...right up until that scream had her nearly choking on her strawberry gum in suprise and turning towards the source.

Prismatic has posed:
At least it wasn't a Wilheim screen, then it might be too late!
The scream does catch Alexis's attention, and though she might /not/ be in the neighborhood for heroics, and without the backup of other X-ers, but she makes for the scream again, looking up as her escrima sticks dance at her hips.

"Screaming can't be good -- why can't I have a normal night in the city?" she murmurs to herself.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Then the shooting starts.

Lots of pistols and... at least one shotgun. So far, no external damage, but there's plenty of "Goddamnit, STOP!" and "THIS ISN'T WORTH IT!" Going on.

Whatever is going on, it just turned into a mess.

Hunori Seong has posed:
Gunfire, panic, violence! Time to act! Rushing, the woman heads for the building.

She needs a moment, a second to be unseen within the buildings before she exhales a breath and lights swirl around her form. Clothing shifts, reforming and twisting while that rush of energy flowing through her form had her surging forwards.

A more experienced hero would probably do a little recon...but people were in danger, and Hunni was far from experienced.

Prismatic has posed:
Heroing isn't for people who make sound decisions -- if they did, they probably wouldn't be Superheroes.

When things hit the fan, Alexis is moving into action, She makes it to the apartment complex, drawing herself up to the sound of pistols, and at least one shotgun! The shotgun worries her as she makes her way up the stairs, the dimunitive, dark-haired woman narrowing her eyes briefly as she makes her way towards the apartment.

Lex Luthor has posed:
A number of panicked civilians go by the two. None of them seem to /care/ about the two strangers coming up the stairs. Rather, they're running away from the chaotic gunfire.

Now that both Alexis and Hunori are both in the hallway... they can easily see the problem; three people are outside one room, taking turns shooting in... and those inside are shooting out, trying to blindfire them as they switch up.

"We don't have all day here!" One thug in casual black and jeans gripes.. The other two are just as casually dressed. A professional crew, this was not.

There's no visual on those inside, but the two can hear yelling and gunfire still...

Hunori Seong has posed:
Panic and gunfire aren't exactly a great mix, and some glowing blonde young woman in a girly outfit wasn't exactly going to look like Superman to these panicing civillians, but none the less Hunni was here to help! Pushing her way through the panic, she arrives in the hallway from the opposite direction to Alexis, eyes going a little wider at the sight of someone else running -towards- the chaos before attention shifts back to the gunmen.

Of course, the best stratergy would be to pounce on them while they were distracted, but that wasn't how heroes were meant to do things, right?

"Drop your weapons!" the girl speaks in her accented tones, those same lights flaring around her. "And put your hands up!"

Prismatic has posed:

Alexis is just behind Hunori, and she brings her escrimas out, holding them tightly as she narrows her eyes, and was about to get the drop on the gunmen on the outside when Hunori pipes up -- and she looks at the younger girl, looks up to the ceiling, and counts to three.

"I'd recommend you do what she says! Step away from the door and let your friends on the inside stop as well!"

Lex Luthor has posed:
"They think they're hot shit, don't they?" "Well, I mean look at them..." "YOU KNOW WHAT I MEANT."

All the while, those pistols keep firing. "Whatever man. This is attracting way too much attention. Let's just toss it in and go."

They stop firing... but instead of dropping their weapons, they start running... the *opposite* way from Hunori and Alexis.

Hunori Seong has posed:
Do bad guys ever actually just...stop? At least they weren't shooting at her. Of course, the thugs running away from her is a pain, if only for the fact that she now has to decide between the room of unknown shooters and the fleeing gunmen. Then Alexis was talking up and Hunori was left to blink, looking over her other shoulder with a look of suprise. Hopefully the other woman was more than just a 'good samaritan' and knew what she was doing, because guns were...well, guns!

"Stop right there!"

A rush of movement, she's headed for the first fleeing suspect, inhuman speed from the apparently petite girl trying to chase down the crooks.

Prismatic has posed:
"... you know, they never do stop --" Alexis states, and she pauses a moment, letting the inhumanly speedy girl attempt to chase down the shooters -- and she stops in to look into the shot-up apartment.

" -- you lot good in here?" she asks, leaning in the doorframe. She certainly doesn't look like she's a member of the shooters gang.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Hunori has no problems at all catching up to the fleeing trio. "What the?!" "Not another one!" "Is that the Flash?!"

For anyone else, rushing headlong at the thugs would be a Very Bad Idea. For Hunori? She's able to dodge bullets pretty well... and when they start firing down the hallway, there's no harm to her.

Alexis... is another story.

All of a sudden, Alexis has gunfire from both the inside of the room /and/ the resumed fire from down the way. Both are blindfire... but shotguns and pistols are nothing to scoff at when there are so many at once.
