Iceman has posed:
It is just a common summer day here in the Bronx, as people were out and about and was relativly quiet for this time of day. This is the place where the houses are a little less fancy, but there are less cops or really any athority. There are the gangs, but thier action is usually brief, and at least today it looks like they are just leaving it along. The common thing is no-one asks other questions, or answers them.. If someone starts getting nosy it is usually authority, which not many here like. That being so it is a good place to disapear, and usually if ya keep moving it isn't that bad.

All of this changes when around the corner music starts being heard. Someone is playing 'Walk like an Egyption.' really loudly and it is coming closer to this spot. Turning the corner is a yonger man on what looks to be a slide made of ice slightly above the ground singing to himself. The music is coming from a big boom-box on the front. The man looks to be made of ice, though he is wearing a yellow, and black suit with an X on it. He enters singing.. "Foreign types with the hookah pipes say. Ay oh whey, Ay oh whey oh" though when he says the last part he spins around a light sign letting whoever is chasing him catch up, before he shoots away again still singing.

Behind him is a muscle car with a few people in it shooting at him with what look to be common pistols. The rest of the people in block disapear quickly back inside as they have been tought to do when there are gun shots. Strangly though as the shots go past he is just dancing, though the bullets are being stopped by ice walls that form infront of them droping to the ground evaporating after their use. Even the ones that missed are blocked, so no one is really in danger, but telling them that would be a bit more difficult. There are only two other wierd things, one is the temp of the area is starting to get colder.. Not much, but like a cold breeze blew through it seems to be getting generally colder, and the man sliding is carrying an umbrella.

Corusca has posed:
One might as yourself what Miranda Madsen, daughter of filthy rich financier Martin Madsen, is doing in the Bronx. This, of course, assumes one knows who the reclusive daughter of Martin Madsen is in the first place. Perfectly happy to be incognito in this sub-middle class neighborhood, she's walking along with an ice cream cone melting in her hand and her tongue snaking at the dripping goodness. Her attire is commonplace enough and consists of jeans and a red knit top with a scooped neckline. Her purse is small and the strapped crosses her chest for security against purse snatchers.

All is otherwise bliss until the boom box alters the tranquility of the scene. The song is amusing enough, however, and so she pauses to see who comes into view. The iceman cometh. So there she stands, golden blonde hair draped across her shoulders dripping ice cream onto her hand in the heat of a summer's day without an ounce of sweat on her with an arched brow wondering just what the heck she is looking at. Then the hoopdie comes around the corner shooting at the walking icicle. Despite everyone in the area clearing the street, she just stands there. Shaking her head slightly, she returns her attention to licking the ice cream and.. walks out into the street... one would think she's intending on walking into traffic.. which.. she is. Enjoying her ice cream.

Iceman has posed:
As they turn the corner Bobby spots the lady in the road. It isn't hard since she is the only one left out and about. Pulling away from the car he ramps up, and lands right infront of her with a smile. He gives her a slight nod as he reaches out catchig the boombox he turns it down so he can talk if he wanted then turns to face the car, though it seems to be squeeling to a stop as a large ice wall appears infront of it. They do stop in time as the wall falls over, it has weight so breaks the lights of the car, but fades away again like the others did. Right then the reason Bobby went to this location, why he was here today started.. First a few rain drops, then a few more as the rain started. He had knew it was supposed to rain here today, just a little moisture with the proper amount of cold air had jump-started it to starting early.

The men are just getting out of the car and starting to approach they have the guns aimed, but haven't shot again yet as they think they got him. He chuckles, as he pulls out the umbrella, turning to face the woman he waves a hand to her.. "Quick... get under here. It is safe" he says to her.

If she does, his ice falls away to show a youngish man tall, athletic, though he still has that smile he had before as an ice form. If she doesn't go he would go to her, holding the umbrella up just a little more.. "Hello there, my name is Iceman." he snaps his fingers.. At this point scientificly it is called super-cooled rain, though to someone looking it would look like everything starts to freeze. Ice appears as a sleet on top of everything, as the pure water freezes on contact. The people their guns, the car they just left everything is frozen over. The temp drops quickly as this happends, though the men just falling where they are break the ice landing on the ground shivering. "Whats yours?" he asks offering a hand.

Corusca has posed:
For all the bluster of a car smashing into a wall of ice and the people freezing under the cover of supercooled rain.. Miranda doesn't seem phased. Not one bit. Instead, she looks Bobby up and down then.. with a game sort of shrug she steps under the umbrella. If she was rained on, there's no sign of it. Not water, not ice, she seems perfectly dry and comfortable. Well.. except for the reflexive rub of her arms against the cold air. "Forgive me for asking but.. do you always try to pick up girls while freezing over MS-13s? Not that I'm opposed to the rescue but.. it does have something of a.." She smiles faintly. "Chilling.. effect on romance?" Amused by her own turn of phrase, she looks to his hand then back to him. "Miranda." She takes his hand at last and makes the shake brief. Her hand is warm to the touch despite the ambient air.

Iceman has posed:
Bobby smiles at her for a moment, as she doesn't even react with a wow, or a golf clap. He chuckles, but then listens. "You know that wasn't easy you know." the rain had turned back to normal since then melting the ice though the bad guys are still down. He doesn't seem bothered by it though shrugs, "Depends of the girl, I mean finding one standing in the middle of the road in the middle of a chase." he thinks about it.. "No. No that does happen often, so I thought I would try something special." he gives her a hand a quick, before he turns back to check on the people. Glancing back he adds .. "Is it working?" and chuckles a bit, before a shrug, "Check it out it is a nice bright day with just a hint of rain.. How is this not romantic?" he adds before part of the car falls off behind it the weight just too much from the damage earlier. "Okay.. minus that."

Corusca has posed:
"Is it working..." Miranda muses on that a moment. "Well. Think of it from a damsel in distress perspective. If I were anyone but I am, I might be impressed." Miranda shrugs then.. smiles. "I'm sorry. I'm not one to really be shocked by the antics of an individual with superpowers." She looks to the wrecked car and the thawing gangers. "For instance, those men. For whatever reason they chose to attack you. You clearly felt them to be no threat and, in fact, ignored them. Taunted them even. Which.. I saw that you were deflecting their bullets to protect the populace by why wait until someone walks across the street to stop them if it was so easy for you?" She looks back to Iceman "So I'll answer the question. Being rescued by a fellow who should have stopped that nonsense at least a block ago by being rained on with freezing rain, thank you for the umbrella consideration by the by, when I'm honestly.. more a friend of the Carribean?" She holds aloft the remains of her ice cream then sighs. "And that's me being a bitch again."

The ice cream gets tossed into a nearby wastebin and she runs her hands across her shoulders, brushing her hair back. "So with that in mind, if you can summon up a waterfall, a beach, and a mai tai? We might have something to work with." She smiles.

Iceman has posed:
Bobby listens, and he seems to pay close attention to what she is saying he even nods a bit at the taunting them. At the end he just laughs, and shakes his head. "Comon.. You never do stuff for fun anymore? I mean you are right maybe I taunted them a bit, and could of ended it as soon as they pulled the guns." he holds up a finger. "But, let me ask you this... Have you ever tried it?" he glances at her as he moves into the rain letting it fall on him. "I mean just dancing in the rain with no real care? Being chased by a few gang members for just a little while just for the thrill of the case?" he smiles at her. "Didn't know though that you could of stop them? I mean I just saw a lady in the middle of the street eating, an ice-cream cone, and I was curious."

He looks at her, of course he is wet from the rain like a normal person though you know he could of stopped it if he wanted he walks over to her again. "I get it your all gruff, and serious.. I mean if you smoked cigars you would remind me about a friend of mine. But you know what is behind that frown? A person who is intresting, the more you act cold the more it makes me curious about who you are? If you are inviting me for drinks, I would of-course accept." He offers a hand to her again, "I would also be happy if you just called me Bobby."

Corusca has posed:
Miranda lifts a palm to him. "Stop." Her expression is stern. "You're young. I'm young. I get it. We're supposed to be hormonal. The problem is that you know nothing about me and your approach is not helping your case." She takes a deep breath. "Then there's the fact that I'm seeing someone right now and since that's nominally a monogamy thing.. I'm not inclined to hurt their feelings." She smiles again. "I do enjoy things. Flying for instance. I recently lept from a perfectly good airplane just to surprise this someone else by landing on their veranda." She waits a tick for that to set in. "So no, I don't like cigars. I'm not that gruff.. okay I am. I try not to be most days but then most days I also fail. Like today." She looks him over. "You seem like a nice guy. Overconfident, for sure, but maybe your heart is in the right place. Maybe a month ago, I might have taken you up on the offer to be care free. Sadly, someone beat you to it. Sadly, for you that is, at least assuming you are affected whatsoever by me shutting you down just now. I'm not sad. I'm rather liking where it's going." She winks at Bobby. "I will leave you with this thought. The last thing I did for fun was go skinny dipping off of Long Island." She looks to the wrecked car and the gangers who are now making themselves scarce. "I think I might surprise you."

Iceman has posed:
Bobby sighs and looks deflated in the rain though he still smiles. "Alright, well fine... Maybe find another whimsical person out there somewhere." and shrugs. He doesn't even snap his fingers, as ice covers the men that were starting to get up again to the ground. "It is much funner my way though." he adds handing the situation they would not be going anywhere for a bit though the snow did block them from the rain so there was that, "But.. I guess.. I wouldn't want to hurt someone else either.. even though they are a stranger."

He nods to her, "Alright well I will say that I am an X-men, and though we usually handle bigger things then these guys, we do like helping people out where we can." he holds out a card. "You can be my wingman anytime. I will come help where I can alright? Consider it a penance for my over cofidence" and gives her a wink. "I am glad you are happy though, there are many that can't enjoy the simple things, while some crazy ones too."

Corusca has posed:
"An X-man you say." Miranda looks him over again this time with more attention to the costume. "Alright. I'll take you up on that sometime. I don't have anything against mutants. I've not exactly lived a life free from oppression and discrimination." There's a dry laugh and she accepts the business card. "Wingman..." The word makes her smirk and she shakes her head, tucking the card away. "You'll be alright Bobby. You seem a resilient sort. You take care now, okay?"
