Havok has posed:
1:54 in the afternoon at Farrel's ice cream parlor. A 1910's themed ice cream experience that the whole family can enjoy. https://tinyurl.com/yycubxwz . Burgers, fries, coney dogs, hot dogs, pizza, pastries, ice cream, cake, candy, cookies, ice cream cake, all of the above and more. This place has it all. At nearly 2pm in the afternoon, the lunch crowd has moved on and there are a couple of birthday parties. One such party is that of Thurston Howell the Fifth (10 years old today). Grandson of famed Thurston Howell the Third. Multibillionaire - and the target of the nefarious villain that hired Berri to steal the gentleman's pocketwatch watch. It's no ordinary pocket watch, but something of a bit of a relic that dates back to the turn of the last century. But the pocket watch is supposed to have a map on it. A map that is rumored to lead to a priceless treasure.

Kids are having fun. Thurston and his wife Lovey Wentworth Howell are watching the grandchild with happiness because he's having the time of his life.

In other parts of the famed ice cream parlor sits a lone blonde man whom is there having a banana split. He's watching the action from the corner. He wears casual attire and a light jacket. He looks like he could be a bodyguard or someone who may be on duty.

Berri Sundae has posed:
Treasure maps and priceless heirlooms....but at least there was icecream? This might well be as close to a day off she'd gotten since a more recent longstanding contract had landed in Berri's lap, but with her brief break having been taken for her birthday now over and her attention having shifted back to seeking something to amuse herself with, the two-tone haired girl with the parasol by her side in the booth idly lapped at the icecream cone in her hand while she watched the party.

It looked like her mind was wandering and that wasn't far from the truth, but the telepathic criminal was idly scanning for her target as she awaited opportunity to get things done. Not every job was roughing up other gangs or heisting banks after all!

Havok has posed:
Thurston Howell the Third reaches into his pocket, pulls out the watch, checks the time. It's an idle habit like millennials checking the cell phone ever 43 seconds. Albeit he's not that addicted. He checks it every 10 or so minutes.

The mind scan will touch 22 children's minds who are all jazzed up on sugar who have a thousand random thoughts every 15 seconds. The few adults in the room are scattered parents of said children who are dreading the ride home with the child, hoping that the child(ren) fall into a sugar coma in the back of the car. Then there's Lovey Howell who is humming some song from the 40s as she dreams of dancing with Thurston. Thurston himself is thinking about all the money he's made in the past 5 minutes on stock ventures and he's also thinking about the briefcase of money that he has under the table which contains 500 thousand dollars. The staff of the restaurant are pondering the mess that they're going to be cleaning up when the kids are gone and hoping they make a good tip. And the blonde guy in the corner is thinking of the ice cream in front of him. But there's something resistant about his mind, as if he's been trained to resist telepathic dominance and manipulation.

    Children have more sugar.

Berri Sundae has posed:
Certainly the joy and energy of the children was't quite something Berri could sympathize with, but happy childhoods didn't tend to create criminal mercenary teenagers, did they? Sight of the watch has her nodding, a quirk of her lips as she finishes her icecream and raises her napkin to her mouth. Wonderful, and the case with the cash? Well, that could be quite the bonus if she pulled it off. But first, she'd need to get her job done.

Ordinarily, it would be a triffle to cloud the minds around her enough to appear invisible, walk right over and merely -grab- both items before walking out again...but the blonde man? That was a complication and curiousity both. She tilts her head now, two odd colored eyes making to stare at the man a little more intently.

Havok has posed:
The blonde man's attention is 60 percent on the ice cream, 40 percent on the action at hand. Maybe he's not a hired bodyguard. Or maybe he just really likes banana splits. But as he looks up at the collective of children and then glances around at the rest of the parlor, he takes note of the oddity of a girl. It takes him a moment to realize she's a girl and not a decoration or part of the backdrop that is this themed establishment. His blue eyes focus, readjust and he seems to scrutinize her presence. But then his mind registers that she's no threat, just a pretty girl, albeit off, perhaps a mutant who is trying to fit in with the real world. He then softens his gaze and expression, offers a slight smile, a nod, and then he looks back down at his ice cream.
