Getting ready for Halloween at Xavier's

Location:	Rec Room - Xavier's School
Synopsis:	Jeremy and Xio talk Halloween, tattoos and Overwatch. She even shares her cereal with him.

SpyderByte has posed:
School is in full swing and back to normal in the halls of Xavier's. Jeremy is currently sitting in the Rec Room as he doesn't have a class this early in the morning, but he is still typing away at his laptop to finish up some last minute homework that he didn't complete last night. At times he will glance over towards his text book next to him, then back to the screen as he lets out a long sigh. Doing things 'by hand' is slow and boring. But, he made a commitment to his teachers that he wouldn't cheat and simply computer brain his way through everything.

Being taught a lesson in patience is making him impatient.

At times his foot taps along with the music that plays softly from the speakers, some type of K-Pop track that he found on the Internet and became obsessed with. Today he's wearing a long sleeved black shirt with an anarchy symbol on it, chained pants and his dog collar around his throat. He hasn't phased out of that Goth stage yet.

Aegis has posed:
Xio had finished her first class already. However, she had a free period before her next one. She usually spent it in the dining room but sometimes in here, listening to music or playing video games. Always munching on something at either location. Today it was a bowl of cereal. Cinnamon Frosted Flakes to be precise, the spicy aroma a lovely thing on an early morning.

She wandered in and spotted Jeremy, giving him a waves since she can see he has his ear buds in. By the tapping foot, he's either impatient or enjoying the music. She'll guess the latter.

She flops down on the couch, shoving another spoonful of cereal in her mouth and crunching loudly.

Popping the buds out of his ears, Jeremy glances over at her and gives a bright smile.

<< Hi Xio! >> The computer speakers chirp with his voice as he gives the side of the display a light tap with his fingers to 'connect' himself to it.

<< How are classes going? If you need help in anything, I got your back. >> Because she had his.

Plucking up his computer and book, he ambles over to the couch to flop down next to her, leaning in to bump his shoulder to hers fondly. He gives a peek at what she's eating and grins. << My favorite too. >>

Aegis has posed:
"Going okay. Not really liking it but not like I got a lot of choice, y'know? Pretty sure with all the brain peepers around here, they'd know if I made a break for it so I just will do what I can."

At his admission, Xio scoops up a bit of the cereal and offers it to him. The fact she already ate off it is irrelevant. The fact she intends to eat off after, if he takes the bite, is also irrelevant.

"Heard they are combining Homecoming with Halloween or some such. Who's heading up the committee? I want to be sure they include some black lights."

Leaning forward, Jeremy takes the bite off the spoon, then gives a few chews and swallows. Licking the milk off his lips, he gives her a wide grin.

<< Shannon and Tabitha. I don't know much about what they're doing, but I heard Dazzler is going to be performing and Thriller is on the tracklist. I bet you can get in on it if you want. >>

Giving a long stretch of his body, he cracks the joints in his back and chest, then flops his arms back down. << If you want me to tutor you in anything, let me know. You kick ass in the Danger Room stuff! You're getting really good with your shields. >>

"Well, I might need some help in Literature. They have us reading Shakespeare. I got to say, I don't know what drugs he was on but those words he uses make no sense!"

She takes another bite, chewing and swallowing before continuing the conversation. "I dunno. I feel like I'm limited on them. I mean, having to use my hands kind of limits me being able to fight and protect at the same time. They say someday when I'm older, maybe I'll be able to just think but don't know for sure." Another little shrug as she scoops up another spoonful of cereal to offer him. "I do think the channeling is pretty cool. Being able to supersize the others attacks."

<< Shakespeare is not my favorite either. I find it boring, but it's easy to research. There is a lot of information out there though. We can party up and work on it together if you want. >>

Jeremy leans over to pluck the next spoonful from her, closing the lid to his laptop and nudging it to the side.

<< Powers take practice. It's like math. Just sometimes repetition helps with your brain's muscle memory. You do the same problem over and over again a hundred times and then you know the sequence. After that, it becomes natural. You plug any number into the formula and the path to success is the same. I see powers like that. >>

He gives her a bright grin. << Kinda like how you tattoo people. It's a skill you learn by just doing it a lot. But you didn't just pick up a needle gun. You started with ink and paper, then moved on once you mastered that, right? We can practice together in the danger room if you want. You can throw shields at me all day. >>

Aegis has posed:
"Can do that. I can teach you some stuff they don't teach us here too. Street fighting, dirty stuff that you can actually use to not get dead." As though they are teaching them anything ineffective! But Xio has her own point of view and, having been on the streets, knows they leave some of the nastier things out. After all, they don't really /want/ the kids fighting. They just want them to be able to live to runaway if they get in one.

"My first few tattoos were awful, even with having drawn on paper. They were little at least. Easy to get covered up when the time comes for folks. I actually was able to do the cover of my first so that made me feel good. Taking the ugly and making it art." After chewing another bite, she considers.

"It being Halloween, guessing there'll be costumes. And I've never seen Dazzler in concert. Just stuff on youtube. So that'll be great."

<< It will be fun. I bet she will put on a great show. I don't know what costume to wear. I could show up like this and no one would blink twice at me. I was thinking of Jack Skeleton maybe. He's skinny and spooky. I bet I could pull off Marilyn Manson from his early days. >>

Jeremy gives her a grin in regards to tattoos. He glances over at his shoulder, then looks back to you. << Now you're a pro. You could do this for reals though, like get a shop and do your own designs. It's so good. I'd love to get more from you on my body. >>

He leans back into the couch, getting comfortable with the cushions. << I am struggling with fighting, but, I am getting better at working out. I put some weight on! Ten pounds so far. Lifting weights isn't as hard. I still don't like it, but I don't hate the way I look naked anymore. >>

Aegis has posed:
"You should never hate how you look naked away. That's what all the media wants you do do. So you buy stuff to improve those looks instead of realizing we're all beautiful just the way we are." Says the girl who wears makeup, though Xio tends to focus mostly around the eyes to bring them out more.

Another bite of cereal. "I could do more ink for you," she mumbles around the mouthful as she chews. When she swallows, she gives a little shrug. "Needs to be something you want though. A design you come up with. That way it is more personal for you. If you have things you like, I can draw up stuff and we can work out what and where you want it."

Then back to the topic at hand. Dance. "Jack Skellington would be fun. So would Manson. I already have mine planned. Mi mama had it shipped up to me. Worn it a few times but it's still got a few years left in it, I figure."

Jeremy gives a giggle as he blows some long red bangs away from his face.

<< What are you going to be for Halloween? >> He looks excited, giving her a wider grin.

<< I don't know if I'm good at coming up with designs, but I will think about it. I have a couple of ideas but I don't know how they look in my head. >>

"You know what you like. What might have meaning to you. Just think of those things and my job is to draw it up. Then you help me tweak it to make it look like what's in your head," Xio explains with a grin. "That way it's perfect."

She considers if she should tell. "Promise not to tell anyone, okay? I want it to be a surprise. Which is why I need the black lights to be present or it won't be as effective. You know my gang is called Los Muertos. But their start was actually not really very street, though they won't tell you that. Their inspiration came from a video game. I know you know it. Overwatch."

She leaves that hanging for a moment, knowing he can piece things together. "I've got a Sombra costume."

There is a slow blink from Jeremy's eyes, then he gives a small giggle. << Sombra is so hot. She is the coolest character in Overwatch. I was actually thinking of getting her symbol tattooed next. I just didn't want to come off as a geek. The hacker sugar skull is so cool looking with the purple and white circuitry. You're going to kill that costume. >>

He is bouncing a little bit on the couch cushion as he pulls his phone out to transfer his voice into that device, now that his laptop is on the ground. Less muffled.

<< I can't wait to see it. At some point you gotta say Apagando las luces! Then when you do, I'll kill all the lights in the room with my powers! It'd be like you hacked the system. >>

That earns a laugh from her. "That would be hilarious. Not sure how many people will get it but we'll be got a laugh at their reactions."

At his mention of the sugar skull version, she gives a nod. "Love so many of hers but the costume I have is a specific skin. Again, based off the original source for our gang name. It's the Los Muertos one. You may have noticed when I was doing your tat, checking with the black light to see how it was coming out, that I have tats on my fingers. Well, like her, I have more than that."

Jeremy looks over at her hands for a moment.

<< Where else do you have them at? >> Obviously his imagination becomes 'dumb boy' as his brows raise upwards, grinning.

That gets him a nudge of a shoulder against his own. "You've seen her! I think you can figure it out. Legs, arms, stomach." She puts her hand up and motions in front of her face. "Skull. The whole thing. While I might not have the same hair style, though I did at one time I have to admit, I did get all the glowing greenish tats."

Jeremy is geeking out over the prospect of seeing her in the glowy blacklight paint. He really digs stuff like that. It's interesting and neat.

He pulls up a picture of Sombra in the Los Muertos skin to admire with a grin. He gives her a glance, then back down to the photo again. << You going to give yourself the mohawk? That's a lot of work for a Halloween costume. >>

"Wasn't planned on it. Just the costume. The black and pink. My Mom got me one from a store a few years back and then she modified it to look more real and less costume." She points to the belt. "I made things for the belt. And I have my own fake gun I made out of stuff." She wasn't going to have a real one here, though she had at times with her gang back when.

"It was done over a few years before it was complete and yeah, it hurt like hell. Some areas worse than others." She reaches up to ruffle her full head of hair. "Took me a few years to grow this back out. Think I'll be skipping the mohawk. Unless there is some mutant kid here who can make my hair grow faster to get this back!"
