Damn Mutants, Ruining Everything
Date of Scene: 12 November 2020
Location: Some fancy boutique in the Upper East Side.
Synopsis: Marvel Team-Up: The Wasp and Havok bring down Avalanche. Pew-Pew/Rumble-Rumble/FOOOOM!
Cast of Characters: Havok, Wasp (van Dyne)

Havok has posed:
The ground rumbles. The boutique's windows rattle and the floor vibrates. As with all of New York, it's near the 125th street fault line, but it's not moved in years. So, it must be some dirty mutant causing trouble. Trouble is what happens when a man wearing a black body suit with white stripes (Havok) is blasted through the window by the vibrational waves from another mutant named Avalanche who can be seen outside in the street.

People panic inside the boutique. People also panic on the street. Cars come to a quick halt, and people scatter while pulling out their cell phones to film the event.

Havok hits the floor, skids a few yards and is laying on his back looking up through the cracked lenses of his visor. He seems dazed.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet's just in the midst of discussing the latest fashions with the salesperson when the ground rumbles and windows rattle. And then she's not discussing fashion with anyone as there's a crash of breaking glass, a flying mutant hero... and her conversational partner is -gone-, practically leaving a dust trail to the fire exit in the back.
"Oh come on now! It's just a guy flying through the window! It's Thursday, that's totally a normal downtown thing!" Well, maybe not for most people, but for her it's totally not an unusual Thursday. And so Janet shrugs and peers down at the dazed mutant, smiling brightly.

"So, need a hand? Or just some cheerleading? C'mon! Get up and get him! You -barely- went through that window!"

Havok has posed:
Havok looks up at Janet. He blinks a few times and his eyes clear. Her words begin to make sense.

Avalanche ( https://tinyurl.com/y6paeltf ) starts lumbering toward the busted window. His feet step up onto the sidewalk.

Havok says, "Sorry about the mess, miss." and he raises up, peering toward the window, toward the mutant villain. Havok then states, "You may want to stand... wait, you can help? By all means, I'd love the assistance." He looks back up to Janet and recognition sets in. It's pretty clear in his eyes that he realizes she's the very public figure and Avenger.

Avalanche gets to the busted window and chimes in, "Yer gettin slow, pretty boy. Now you're gonna feel the full force of the Avalanche!"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet offers a wide grin and sighs, "Well, I guess I can lend a hand... although I wasn't planning on doing any heroics today! I didn't even bring a costume."

She glares at Avalanche and sighs, "Oh, really? Really? You're going to threaten him with a -catchphrase-? That's it, you're going to jail for bad taste if nothing else!"

She glances down at Havok again and stage whispers, "Heyyy... uhhh... how durable is this guy? Like, 'knock out a thug' level zap here? Or do I treat him like an eighteen wheeler?"

Havok has posed:
Havok leaps to his feet and suddenly becomes incredibly warm as he seemingly glows from his chest and down his arms to his raising hands. He answers, "He's in body armor. It's got hard points. Zap between them."

Avalanche raises his arms and rippling waves of vibration resonate from them in a streaking and rending ripping of concrete, steel, wood, iron, shattering glass... That wave of rippling material washes toward the two heroes and rises a good 8 feet appearing as an actual cresting wave would from the ocean. It blocks the direct line of sight between the heroes and the villain.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet charges up and blasts a couple of stings towards Avalanche, only to have the ground crest up and absorb them. She dodges to the side, and then in mid-air her dress flutters emptily, as she zips out, barely big enough to see at all, let alone pick details out, as she zips up to the ceiling and over the wave.

She zips around and behind him, firing off blasts, just enough to hurt and distract him momentarily before she's darting out of the path she figures Havok's counterattack is going to come along any moment now.

Havok has posed:
Acting right after Janet, Havok braces for his attack and times it just after her attacks and movement. Then, seeing that the shrunken Wasp is clear, Havok blasts the impending wall of concrete/wood/iron/steel with his plasma blast. Vaporizing a rift in the middle of it and dispersing the materials with the superheated plasma. Rendering it inert. Yet, the vibrations still knock Havok back a few yards into a display.

Zipping around behind Avalanche, the Wasp is quite the distraction. Unable to see where the attacks are coming from, Avalanche whips around and lifts his left arm in hopes of deflecting the stinging blasts while looking for a target. He exclaims, "What the hell!? I'm gonna wreck ya if you don't cut that out!"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet laughs and continues her taunting attacks, amping them up a little so they'll -really- sting, only to flash by Avalanche's face for a brief moment... after all, a tiny costume-less Wasp is surely a distraction. And then the sting to his eyes is probably -real- distracting!

"I mean, you could give up and just turn yourself into the cops! If you surrender I'll stop stinging you! Seems like a fair deal to me, mister... uhhh... big villainous guy I don't know!"

Havok has posed:
Police are already approaching - there's at least 2 every block as beat/walking officers.

He sees where the the laughter and shots are coming from. He snarls, lowers his guard, and then is popped smack in the right eye. He yells out in pain.

Then from within the boutique comes the FOOOOOM as Havok has righted himself and unleashed a blast of the fiery hot plasma. It streaked across the boutique and the sidewalk blasting Avalanche in the right flank. Knocking him across the street and into the side of a conversion van. Smashing him quite hard and rendering the villain unconscious.

The police rush toward the villain.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet darts back into the back of the store, peeking up so just her head and bare shoulders peek above the counter, "Wow! Way to totally take down Avalanche all on your own! Yep, definitely didn't get help from a half-prepared Avenger! I'm... uhhh... going to hide back here and scrounge up something to wear."

She lifts a hand up and gives a thumbs up, "So yeahhh... uhhh... try to keep the cops focused on big surly out there, no need to check this nice little store or anything!"

Havok has posed:
Alex looks over to Janet who is hiding behind the counter. Taking note that she's hiding and partially seeing the situation (as he's familiar with super suits - or the lack thereof). He states with a grin, "Whatever. You totally helped." He looks to where her dress was, grabs it and tosses it toward the counter as he starts to walk toward the busted window and the cops. He comments, "I'll handle the cops. But, the whole distraction thing was a life saver." And he continues to walk away letting Janet get situated.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet reaches up and blindly fumbles for the dress, tugging it behind the counter and getting herself put back together as it were, though it does involve sprinting out to quickly slip her shoes back on after dancing around the rubble and debris nimbly. Well, she might not have worked out that sale on a dress she was looking for, but some things actually -are- more thrilling than fashion!

And so after she allows a few minutes for everything outside to settle she does her best to slip off and enjoy the rest of her day however it winds up.
