Frozen Feelings
Date of Scene: 14 November 2020
Location: Shannon's Room (East Halls), Xavier's School
Synopsis: Megan and Shannon discuss the spooky events of the previous night that touched a nerve.
Cast of Characters: Pixie, Nightingale

Pixie has posed:
The creepy haunted house of the previous night had weighed heavily on the delinks and tender memories of certain Xavier students, and there were certain things that could not be healed so easily. Megan had spent most of the following day in her dorm, pacing the room anxiously, wondering what to do to make her feel better.

Eventually she had decided to check up on Shannon, worried about her state as well. The angel winged girl will eventually hear a soft knock on the door.

"Shan, are you there? Can I come in?"

Nightingale has posed:
Some wounds never truly heal. When they are torn open afresh, healing even in part is a much longer process. Shannon's in her dorm, sitting at her piano. Her hands rest on the keys, but there is silence. She's in her pink satin two-piece pajamas, and floofy sheepdog slippers, her hair long and loose save for the little blue braid on the left side of her face. For several long moments, there is no answer to Megan's call at the door. "Come in," is the almost whispered reply. "Door's unlocked."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn steps in, taking a breath as she sees Shan on the piano. Megs is also in her nightshirt, the bright pink and purple winx shirt, her shoulder length hair pulled back into a loose ponytail.

"Hey Shan how you been? I've been worried about you." Meg for the most part looks pretty tired herself.

Nightingale has posed:
There is a long moment of silence as Shannon remains at the piano, her head bowed as she looks down at the keys. "I'm not sure how I'm supposed to be," she finally replies. "That was some next-level mind-fuckery last night. I'm of a mind to tell Mr. Summers and Miss Grey about it. It's fucking scary that meta was able to pull so much out of our heads so fast, and then turn it on us like that."

Finally, she looks up, and shifts about on her chair, turning to look at Megan. The circles under her eyes speak of a night with little rest. "Was any of it real, though? Were those really the spirits of our family? Were they being used just as hard as we were? What the hell kind of games are these metas playing? It has to stop."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs, stepping towards her, reaching out to gently rest a hand on her shoulder. "It was..Pretty scary stuff, and it sucked that it wasn't really..Real, although I wasn't super happy to learn that an evil mutant villain was my real dad. There's no reason someone would make that up.."

She frowns, looking a ways and silent for a few moments, shivering, "He told me things that only my dad would know, but..I don't think it was all fake. He may have been a powerful telepath and illusionist turning out thoughts into fantasy..But in the end..I heard a voice. It sounded..It felt real. There were real spirits in that house afterall.."

Nightingale has posed:
"I thought that voice at the end was real, too," Shannon concedes, resting her hand on Megan's for a moment. "I hoped it was. I want it to be, but can that be trusted?" She smiles a little bit, listening to her friend describe her dad. "But you are not your dad. You're not evil. You have a good and kind heart, and you use it the right way to help others. I've seen that, over and over."

For several moments more, there was silence, as her words faded into nothingness. "I think we should probably tell Miss Grey and Mr. Summers about this. This one's way over our heads, and right now, both of us are too emotionally invested."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods slowly, biting her lip but glancing back to Shannon again, smiling softly. "I'm positive it was real..Because by that time, Twilight had fled, and the evil spirit that was controlling his illusions was dispelled..Thanks to Constantine. It's a good thing he came along."

She chuckles, maybe even blushing a bit. "Did you see how he caught that lightning bolt? So cool..." she's practically swooning by now.."But if the voice you heard was like mine, it sounded genuine."

Nightingale has posed:
"I want to think it was genuine. I hope it was." Running her fingers through her hair, Shannon lets out a light sigh. She can't help smiling a little bit at Megan's enthusiasm about meeting someone else keen on magic. "I sort of saw," she concedes. "But I also kind of had my hands full, too. If he's someone it turns out we can trust, well, then I hope you can learn from him. But please be careful."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs and nods, "I'm sorry, I guess you and Alice were my responsibility and I let you down. I got distracted by my own illusions.." she bites her lip, hanging her head. "I should have been there to back up Constantine..This is on me.."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shakes her head rather emphatically, flinching as she tries to spread out her wings. It backfires, as they are splinted and still pretty sore. "Ooof. Okay, stop that right now. None of us knew. It wasn't some mission. We were just going there to have a little fun, maybe spook ourselves out a bit. You have zero reason to beat yourself up. Got that, Ace?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs a bit but nods, smiling faintly, "I guess so..Careful there!" she blinks as Shannon flinches, "Darnit, should we still write up a report if it's unofficial? I mean at least the baddies didn't get away in the end?"

Nightingale has posed:
"I don't know about that. But either way, I think we really need to tell Mr. Summers and Miss Grey. This way above our paygrade. Or at least mine. And if telepathy's involved, there's none better to loop in on this." Shannon sighs a little bit, then just allows herself a bit of a smile. "Meantime, I need some protein and calcium to kick my healing factor into high gear. You up for making some pizza in the kitchen?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods again, though her smile is uncertain, "I guess so, we just have to emphasize the fact that we didn't go in looking for trouble or trying to single handed lay take down one of those meta human criminals ourselves, right?" she grins and winks, "You know what trouble magnets we are."

"Oooh, pizza sounds good, I could totally do that! Come swing by in a few min, I can make you some marshmallow hit choco too! It's starting to get cold out there.."

Nightingale has posed:
"Hell's bells, we didn't even /know/ there was a meta involved until it was too late. I thought it was just going to be a run-of-the-mill scam artist. We both got played like fiddles." Shannon's tone is crisp, even a touch brusque for a moment, and she presses her lips into a thin line. "Can happen to the best of us. But we're here to pick each other up when we make mistakes."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs, "I actually truly believed it might be real. Heck, some of those money boxes kinda bugged me but hey, even psychics need to eke a living right?" she shrugs, "I know there is real magic, so why not ghosts? Ooh, I have sooo many questions for Mister Constantine, he's nearly as famous in magic circles as Dr Strange.."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just wrinkles her nose at the mention of Doctor Strange. "Don't get me wrong. Doctor Strange has some mad skills, but his bedside manner sucks." She pushes herself up from her chair, careful not to jostle her wings too much, and smiles some. "Well, hopefully you'll run into this Constantine again and maybe get some of your questions answered. God knows if anyone deserves that, it's you. Meantime... pizza and cocoa?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smirks, "I know, you once mentioned a bad experience with him..I dunno why he reacted that way but.." she shrugs helplessly but heads for the door, "Thanks Shan, in the meantime I'll meet you in the kitchen and get that pizza and cocoa prepared til then.."
