That's...kinda imPrissive...
Date of Scene: 14 December 2020
Location: Bowlmor Arcade - Times Square
Synopsis: Drake and Hunori battle it out on DDR
Cast of Characters: Hunori Seong, Slipstream, Voodoo

Hunori Seong has posed:
It wasn't Seoul, it wasn't her home or even any of the places she'd grown up in...but an arcade was an arcade, and that was as close to 'home' as Seong Hunori, or 'Hunni' as she preferred, had been in a while.

Having spent the last hour indulging in some classic booths and the basic shooting galleries with impressive precision and ease, the brunette was currently shrugging out of the obnoxiously bright pink hoodie she wore over a shirt of deep blue adorned with a little pixelized string of heart containers and simple black shorts. The weather didn't bother her when it got hot enough in here after all!

The 'foe' in front of her? A 'DDR' machine she was awaiting her turn on. Another 'classic' to indulge in after some rather weird weeks.

Slipstream has posed:
The arcade is one of Drake's favorite places to haunt when he has some down time. He doesn't have much of it, but when he does, he loves squeezing in a few hours of blasting away at aliens or stomping arrows. As he blinks in next to Hunori, he lets out a loud sigh.

"Oh come on! There's a line for this ... maaaan..." He trails off, running his hands back through his hair. He looks a bit amped up, bouncing side to side on his feet a few times. "Oh. Hey Hunori." He says with a grin. "Annyeonghaseyo."

"You found my secret lair. You play DDR?"

Hunori Seong has posed:
The 'blast' in is a little suprising, enough to make the brunette turn and blinks before crossing her arms with a quirk of her brow. "Anyeong," she greets, the shorter return offered it the 'native' accent before she gives a little laugh. "What happens if you run into someone doing that? Would they explode or just get knocked over?"

As for the game? She nods, only to frown a little. "I mean, when the line finally moves I do!"

Slipstream has posed:
"Probably explode. Wanna test it out?" Drake asks with a chuckle. "When I'm moving at that velocity, it's like the world 'halts' for a moment. I just squeeze myself in between cracks. It's kinda neat." He rocks side to side on his feet a bit, then leans down to tighten a shoelace.

"I love DDR. I spend a lot of time on this machine. Like.. way too much. If I wasn't a pro at Overwatch, I'd be all over this game. Kinda wish it'd come back in popularity. It's so good."

Hunori Seong has posed:
She makes a face, a clear refusal of said test before giving a soft laugh and nodding back to the machine. "It's a good way to keep fit," she nods, "work up a sweet, listen to some music, get reflexes in more than just your hands...and y'know, it's fun!"

A beat, she grins, gesturing with her hand. "Wanna play? You might actually be able to beat me at this game. Maybe."

Slipstream has posed:
"It's not even a maybe. It's a definitely. I got cheaty speed powers. I'd totally cheat too." Drake says as he leans in to bump his shoulder against hers. "But we can play, sure. So, are you staying in America now a bit longer, or deciding to move here?"

Once the line moves up, he fishes tokens out of his pocket, lining them on top of the machine, then jabs a few into the slot. He takes up the left side of the machine, tapping his feet along the arrows to find a song and listen to the rhythms.

"I'm okay with just about anything except the super girly songs. Those are resident sleepers."

Hunori Seong has posed:
"Season is off for the moment and I'm kinda...taking an extended holiday," she answers, giving a little shrug of her shoulders and moving up to the second space. "I dunno, perfect is perfect and I play to win!"

A wink given, she looks through the list and offers a little chuckle. "So not butterfly then...how about that one?" she offers with a pointed finger, "Sakura?"

Slipstream has posed:
"I like Butterfly." Drake says with a cheesy grin upon his face. Then, just to a bit of a brat, he taps his foot a few times and selects 'Boys'.

He gives a long stretch of his body, giving a few wiggles of his feet to limber up. "You can select the difficulty and modifiers if you want." This is such a girly song.

"So where are you staying at? You got a friend's place you're at or you doing a hotel? That can get expensive."

Hunori Seong has posed:
Similar stretching, albeit without the display of powers from Hunni. She wasn't quite 'outed' after all, so she'd have to rely on simply being the human level of 'crazy good' at the game.

Her choices? She's turning everything up to 'extreme', clearly confident in her footwork this gamer!

"I'm at a hotel, at least for now. Maybe I'll do an 'Air BnB' thing, but a heated pool is really nice this time of year."

Slipstream has posed:
"It's nice this time of year, but you gotta share it with tourists."

Drake is not a fan of public pools. That and it's hard to be a fan of anything after swimming in anything with Stark's name on it. Now /that/ is a pool. Once she selects the difficulty, he gives a few hops of his feet and readies himself.

This is a goofy song, but with the mods that she has, it's not going to be easy. He also doesn't cheat and uses his powers, he'll just go at the game normally at his own pace.

Boys Boys Be my Boy!
I wanna feel your body!
Boys Boys be my Boy!
Tonight I'm ready honey!
Boys Boys be my Boy!
I wanna be your lover girl, be my lover boy!

It's such a dorky song.

Voodoo has posed:
Putting Voodoo on any of those machines is somewhat cheating, given her career choice. And what she is too. The bucket of coffee she's strolling over with is tantamount ot how she's not really slept yet. Not a literal bucket, mind, but...close enough. It's a laarge coffee, with all the options.

Mostly since Voodoo really, really wasn't in the mood for 'but do you /want/ five shots of cream' questions. Easy answer: Put everything on it.
Oh and she's got a chicken sub in her other hand, too. There's enough greenery on that...that well...Voodoo could just have emptied a salad bag and thrown the top bun over it all. Which is, well, somewhat close to what she did. Salad, she asked for. And chicken, ranch, bacon, peppers. And that, well, that's what she got. It looks completely nuts, but...but...

Voodoo's both hungry and in need of coffee. Taking care of both is her priority right now, the machine can wait. Besides, if she gets on it, she'll show off how good she really is. That'd just be so not fair, and she gives the machine and the folks near it a nod. She'd wave, but getting charged with death by throwing various condiments and bits of salad is not on her to do list. Nor is throwing coffee over people or wrecking a perfectly good machine.

"Hey" she says finally, taking a bite of her sub. Nobody dies on her watch by teeth propelled lettuce leaf shurikens, or pepper projectiles, not when Voodoo's pointing the sub at the floor. Poor cleaning crew gonna have to deal with that mess.

Hunori Seong has posed:
Dorky song, but still a challenge...but clearly Hunni was into it. Arms, hips, her whole body was moving rather than just staticly stepping arrow to arrow. Just another sign of way to much time playing games just like this, if not this directly.

Voodoo's arrival, the sandwich-chomping distraction that she is, earns a little smile and nod of greeting...but it barely slows the korean girl down.

Only when the song was done and she was left catching her breath would she finally raise a hand and offer a "Hey," in return!

Slipstream has posed:
For Drake, he doesn't put on a show. He just tries to nail every arrow so he remains focused. Once the round clears, he glances up at the score, then gives an amused grin as he is behind in points. It /is/ a girly song after all. He needs a macho song .. like .. Maxx 300 or Stomp To My Beat.

As Hunori greets the other woman, he doesn't recognize her obviously. He lifts a hand upwards, then turns back to the screen to tap along the arrows again to search for a song that he is more familiar with. He'll leave his secret weapon for the last song. Just in case he gets too far behind in points.

Voodoo has posed:
Voodoo. Sandwich chomping distraction. That's...a new one but she does nod and once her mouth is clear she smiles. "Hey, sorry I'm hungry and got off work two hours ago" she offers, still perfectly fine with littering, versus firing food at people, but she does nod in greeting. There's nowhere to set her impromptu breakfast down, short of sitting. Instead she watches. "You want a difficult song? Try one that's out there. I could give you some but I doubt this machine has half the stuff I dance to"

Clue one of what she does. That and how she moves, graceful, and with controlled moves. "I'll just watch and keep my mouth shut. Last thing you guys need is somebody yapping how to dance, right?" she grins. Hey, at least she's not assumed they're on a date or something stupid like that.

With a sip of coffee she grins. "So who are you guys?"

Hunori Seong has posed:
The apology is waved off, a little shrug of her shoulders at the sandwich and the mention of the machine. "Probably not, it's an older one but it has some fun stuff on it."

Glancing towards Drake's seeking a new selection she looks back towards Voodoo and gestures to herself. "Seong Hunori, or 'Hunni' is better in most cases. You can watch," she offers in her accented tones before looking back towards the screen. "It is a friendly contest. We both do this sort of thing...did this sort of thing as a career."

Slipstream has posed:
"I'm Drake." The young man says as he finally lands on a song that he feels can be on equal footing for both of them.

Drop The Bomb.

This song is a classic and has one of the best versions of ups and downs for arrow placement. That and it's just a hot track. "Yeah, we used to go head to head in another game a year or so ago." He gives a flex of his fingers, leaning back to grab the bar behind him as he waits for the hours to start dropping. He starts to move with perfect muscle memory. This is a song he's had to have played a thousand times in the old days, but he doesn't put much flair into his movements or hips. He just stomps on arrows.
