Pixie has posed:
The best thing to do on a cold winter's day is to hunker down in front of the tv, watching cheesy rom-coms while curled up on the sofa, sipping a warm cup of peppermint hot chocolate..Which would probably be a lot more fun if she didn't feel like half a person without her beautiful wings and colorful hair.

Hey, at least she's out of the med bat finally, but she seems so drab with her pale ginger hair. At least she's not crying so much anymore.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon had been out of the medbay by the next morning, having taken the least of the injuries among the team, for once. The past few days, however, had proven--and still were proving--to be something of an adjustment for her. While out amongst the general populace of the mansion, she did her best to keep a smile on her face, and exude confidence. But when in private, or believing herself alone, she might sometimes be caught in a very quiet, pensive mood, or sometimes giving vent to no small amount of anger. Sometimes there were tears, sometimes acceptance--but always, through all of it, there was a thread of hope, despite what other emotions might be finding expression in any given moment.

Megan might be going for cheesy romcoms, but Shannon is going for, well... cheese. And macaroni. Dressed in bright blue leggings, a long white t-shirt with Tweety Bird on the front, and floofy sheepdog slippers, she's in front of the stove working on the cheese sauce for a batch of comfort food. There is also a backpack over her shoulders, settled right where her wings would have been. At least cooking is a welcome distraction, and perhaps she could bring some mac and cheese to Megan when it was done....

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn yawns and stretches, looking half asleep as she tries to focus on the cheesy 'chick-flick' in front of her. She's also dressed for bed, wearing her colorful rainbow coloured Winx club night shirt, pink fuzzy bunny slippers on the floor as she curls her feet underneath her.

When Shannon steps in, she blinks slowly, having not seen her since she got out of the med bay. "Shannon!?" eyes widen in surprise. "What happened ? You didn't get hit by neutro-x too!?" well clearly she did and that makes Megs feel a bit sadder.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon turns as she hears Megan come in from the rec room, immediately moving the pot of cheese sauce off of the burner and turning it off. She moves in for a hug, if not stopped, stepping back for a moment to look her over. "Never mind me, how are you holding up? You were in the medbay for a few days there."

A wry smile tugs the corners of her mouth upwards. "I got hit, but I was still able to get you to the rooftop before my wings disappeared. The important part is we all got home alive."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles faintly as she hugs Shannon in return, although it's evident that is is quite broken. "Shannon.." her voice wavers a bit, and she shrugs, laughing shakily, "Well, I'm still alive, but..I feel like I'm missing half of me..Literally. I just..Do we even belong here anymore? When will they kick us out? I just dunno.." she sighs, "Geez, I'm sorry you got hit trying to help me.."

Nightingale has posed:
"That, I can answer pretty safely. We're not getting kicked out. And... yeah, I know what you mean. Feels like half of me's gone. I was talking to Sam about that just last night." Shannon smiles somewhat, pulling out a stool at the counter for Megan, and turning back to the stove, to finish her work on the cheese sauce. The pasta's already been cooked, and is set aside in a colander, with a buttered baking pan at the ready.

"Couple nights ago... guess you were still in the medbay... I brought some mac 'n cheese down to Dr. McCoy. He's been taking things pretty hard since the incident a week or two back with Magneto. Miss Grey and Mr. Summers were down there too, giving him a good swift kick in the pants. Suffice it to say, Megan, they're all pulling for us and working on a solution. If we were going to get kicked out, they wouldn't be doing that." Pause. "Nor would miss Grey have called in for help from the Avengers on this."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn frowns. "Even so, I dunno. I mean, you're a student, but I'm supposed to be an Xman. It's literally my job, and will they let me continue to be an Xman without my mutant powers? I mean..I think I still have my faerie abilities but I dunno..I just don't wanna be made redundant."

As for Beast, she frowns, "Really? Why is it his fault? He's probably the only one who can help us out of this jam! If there is a cure, he'd be the one to find it.."

Nightingale has posed:
"That... may be his story to tell. But I would consider not asking him. It's... a very sensitive subject." Finishing up the cheese sauce, Shannon adds the macaroni to it, mixing it together and pouring it out into the baking pan. "As for letting you continue to be an X-man? Again, I don't think they'd be pulling so hard for a solution for either of us, if they were going to plant their boot prints on our backsides. But if it would help, you could always talk to Miss Grey or Mr. Summers. Hell, they'd probably encourage you to."

Shannon smiles a little, though her tone's a touch more serious. "We're both of us more vulnerable now, though. We'll both have to be careful and stay out of harm's way. A solution won't do either of us any good if we're six feet under."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods slowly, "I guess, I won't push him but I really hope he can clear his head and get out of his funk..I don't wanna be stuck like this forever.." but her lips are suddenly set in a stubborn frown, "But I'm not gonna give up, or just hide! I'm gonna train harder than before!"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon grins at Megan and nods. "That's the spirit. I've been thinking the same thing. You know, I bet we could talk Mr. Proudstar into calling up one of his obstacle courses in the danger room. Mr. Summers is always on us to train without our powers, so here's our chance to prove to ourselves we can do it."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods, "It wouldn't hurt. I never finished those D&D DR sessions either." she smiles, finishing off her cocoa, greedily eyeing the macaroni. And licks her lips. "Oooooo need help eating that?" her eyes are all wide and hungry.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon bursts out laughing, and nods. "Guess this batch isn't even making it to the oven. Help yourself. I'll just make a second batch and put the breadcrumb topping on that one." Shaking her head, she chuckles. "Warren was right. However much you cook of something, double it, because there will always be someone coming out of the woodwork to help eat it."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles, "Thanks! I'm starving, and you're such a good cook.." she's already reaching for a fork and small plate to load with Mac and cheese. "Oh yea, I heard Warren is counselling now. He'd be good to talk to, didn't he lose his wings once?"

Nightingale has posed:
"Yeah, that's what I heard, on both counts. It's... been tempting to talk to him, but I figured others had greater need." Shannon's smile falters just briefly, but she simply lifts one shoulder in a half-shrug, shaking her head. "If it'll help you worry less, I'll bug him tomorrow, okay?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn shakes her head, taking a break from munching on Mac n' cheese to glance up at her, resting a hand on her shoulder, "I think he'd understand our need to talk to him. I guess he's probably really busy right now but he'd be the best person to talk to both of us, don't you think?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods, and smiles some. "I still want to talk to him, but I've had a chance to talk a little bit to Sam and Jeremy and Ted some. You talk to Warren first, you haven't had a chance to get things off your chest. Plus, we also have each other. That's what family does."

Her smile widens a bit as she looks at Megan's hair. "I'm used to seeing the pink on you, but ginger's a good look for you, too."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods. "Hmm, soo who else was..Neutralized?" she frowns at the word, but for lack of a better term.."I guess so." Megan sighs, "To be honest, I don't know Warren, or the other Xmen that well, and his whole history as the Angel of Death is kinda scary..But I'm sure he's not like that anymore..Right?"

She smiles weakly and nods. "Yeah, I suppose so..I really miss my pink hair, looks like I still have streaks of black in it though?" that makes Megan laugh.

Nightingale has posed:
"It was you, me, and Logan, far as I know," Shannon replies, frowning a bit. "You and me, we're lucky. For us, it's not something that'll kill us. Logan, on the other hand... I'm a bit worried for him. He's one tough son of a gun, and even with this will probably outlive us all, but still... with that metal he's got in him..."

She slams her hands down on the edge of the counter, making the baking pan and serving spoon rattle around a bit, growling lwo. "Right from day one here he's helped and supported not only me, but who knows how many others here in his own way. And damn it all to hell, there isn't a goddamn thing I can do to help him now when he's the one that needs it."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, "Mister Logan? Isn't that bad? I mean, if he has those metal thingies in his bones, cant he get sick from it or something? How's he doing? Did we stop the badguys or are there lots more out there?"

Megan sighs and shakes her head, eating her macaroni slowly again. "I dunno, what CAN we do?! I feel sooooo helpless. Just wish I'd learned more magic before Morgana left."

Nightingale has posed:
"That's exactly it. He's toughing it out, and I think Josh Foley is helping him fight it, but still... you're right, because of the metal in him, he's got an uphill battle to fight." At that, for a brief moment, Shannon lets out a short whuff of laughter, blowing a stray wisp of pale gold out of her eyes. "Seems to be the kind of battle he fights best. But like you... I hate being this helpless."

She almost grins, glancing back at Megan. "He was actually -drunk- at Harry's a couple nights ago. Never thought I'd see it. And of all people to trust to drive him home on his bike, it was me. That's... I don't know, one hell of a mark of trust for him. I've never seen him let many anywhere near his bike. He could've asked Warren. Surprised he didn't, though... I guess Warren threatening to fly him home didn't help."

Smiling a bit, she takes a few deep breaths to compose herself, shifting her back as if to settle wings behind her that just weren't there. "I don't think they'd have Warren as our guidance counselor or anywhere near us kids if he was going to be like that. He's been real nice every time I've run into him."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods slowly. "Yeah, I'm worried about him. And I cant *stand* being this helpless." she smirks, "Really? He got drunk?! That guy is crazy, although I wonder if it's all that bad, I mean, he's been alive for how many hundreds of years now!?"

She shrugs, "I think we should get in some training in the danger room. Even without powers, we are not totally helpless, and if I'm right, I may still have access to the fairy half of myself. Besides, I've seen how scary you are with that bostaff of yours." she winks.

As for Warren she smirks. "I'm sure youre right."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon chuckles lightly. "Yeah he did, but after all the crap he's lived through, if anybody's earned the right to get a bit drunk it's him." Turning to get a plate and fork, she serves out some mac 'n cheese for herself, perching on a stool near the counter and munching away contentedly for a few minutes.

"Ha. You think I'm good with the bo staff, I'm nowhere near Mr. LeBeau's skill level. I have -years- to go before getting anywhere near that. Have you ever seen him with a staff in his hands? I swear the man makes it an art form."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles. "Hahaha, I guess you're right, if it helps him any.." she munches some more on mac n' cheese, still running on extra energy, although without those fairywings it's hard to tell where all the extra energy will be going.

As for Remy, she just smirks, "Dammit, he's soo darned cocky with his weaponry. I mean, when I asked him to teach me knife throwing, he was hitting the bullseye with his eyes looking elsewhere, his back to the target. Every time!"

She smiles, "But hey, at least I learned some good pointers from him and Betsy, just need to practice more.."

Nightingale has posed:
"Ha! I would've loved to see that. Tried signing up for Miss Braddock's martial arts class, but a lot of stuff was happening, so maybe I'll just have to try again. It was around the time Jeremy got here." Shannon and Megan are both perched at the kitchen counter with a large pan of freshly made mac 'n cheese on a trivet between them. That in itself seems normal.

     But something is missing.

Shannon, for her part, seems devoid of wings. And Megan? Her hair is now light ginger, and she too, is missing her wings. The two girls seem to be bonding and chatting away over some mac 'n cheese, mildly distracted for the moment.

Storm has posed:
Through the open arch of the kitchen steps Ororo, currently wearing jeans and a comfy looking wool sweater. Her hair pulled back into a flagging ponytail that fell down her back. Ro smiled to the two girls, "Good afternoon, ladies. That smells rather good."

Ro didn't react to the changes the girls had undergone. She already knew what had happened but also knew that pity would be a cheap reaction to offer. Walking to the fridge and taking out the small avacodo salad she'd made for herself earlier.

Archangel has posed:
Wandering into the kitchen a minute or so behind 'Ro, hiding a yawn behind his hand, Warren stumbles in looking as though he just woke up mere moments ago. His longish blonde hair shows definitive signs of bed head as he pads towards the coffee pot on total autopilot. Dressed in what can only be described as silk pajama pants, the shirtless mutant's wings are unhindered and stretch out behind him, only restricted by the lack of space to expand fully. He walks by those in the kitchen with a slight raise of his hand the only indication that he acknowledges the other's existences, his mind focused on the singular goal of introducing caffeine to his system.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and nods, "It was definitely fun, though it was hard to get into, you know, her classes are pretty popular. But, I hope to have more sessions with her, and alone too. Heck, i've been thinking of picking up a second dagger to balance my soul dagger."

Megan munches some more on her mac n' cheese and takes sips of her cozy hot chocolate drink. She looks dressed for bed this early in the day and hasn't yet changed into her day clothes. Really, she should be going to class or training, but all things considered...

And yes, Megan is missing her infamous Pixie wings and pink hair, although her ginger locks are still streaked in black, and her ears are still pointed. Looks like she didn't lose all her abilities..Maybe?

At that moment, she notices Ororo and Warren, who are technically her teammates, but she still doesn't know them that well. "Oh, hello Ms. Munroe, Mr. Worthington!" her gaze lingers upon the Angel the longest, almost jealously eyeing those beautiful feathered wings of his. Doesn't it always seem that you notice those who have things, just when you no longer have them?!

Sigh.

Nightingale has posed:
"Mr. Proudstar's been insistent I at least learn to handle bladed weapons properly, though I still prefer the staff. But if he feels it worth learning... well, he wouldn't steer me wrong." Shannon smiles lightly, tucking into her mac 'n cheese with renewed gusto. "I'll be real glad for miss Munroe's botany class this term. Last one was a lot of fun...."

Just at that moment, she hears the soul in question calling out a greeting to both young women, and cracks something of a smile. "Good afternoon, miss Munroe...." Her voice does trail off, one brow flicking upwards at the sight of the avocado salad. "Thanks... if you want some mac 'n cheese, you're welcome, but ummm... what is that?"

Leaning over to Megan, she giggles softly. "I think I know just what I'll do on April Fool's Day..." There's a rather pointed look at the coffee pot.

     Uh-oh.

Storm has posed:
"Ms. Gwynn." Said in greeting and noting the look of longing she gives to Warren. Well...to the man's wings. Her heart went out to the girls, and to Logan. Some nasty business, losing one's mutations. She didn't know what she would do, herself. Herself, the girls, Logan, all of them - their powers were part of what made them who they were. Without them? It was difficult.

Hiding her smile behind her thermos at Warren's attempts at waking up. She took down a cup and held it out to him.

She looked over to Shannon and chuckled softly. "It's an avocado salad. See?" She set the bowl down so the girls could inspect. "Avocado, orange and red grape tomato halves, red onion, plus my dressing. You're welcome to try if you like?"

Archangel has posed:
Making grabbie hands at the cup when 'Ro offers it over to him, the blonde mutant grunts something that can be both taken as greeting and thank you all wrapped up into one monosyllabic sound and promptly starts to pour some of the black liquid of life into the mug.

Or he would....if there was any coffee left.

A sound of defeat emits from the winged mutant, shoulders slumping and the wings loosing some of their 'perkiness' as they follow the shoulders to now droop some off his back. A long, drawn out sigh is expelled as Warren makes his way with the pot over towards the fridge to fill it with water with a yawn.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn oooooohs at Ororo and her salad. "Yummy! Don't mind if I do!" she beams as she piles some of the tasty looking salad on her own plate, hungrily munching away at it. "Oooh, this is soooo good! Did you grow some of the veggies in your own garden? I'm still working on mine, althouh..." yeaah, Ororo may remember the last time she asked for help on her mess of a garden plot..!

She goes back to greedily eyeing Warren's wings. And sighs. "I...Think I'm gonna miss flying..." with a little whimper, she sips some more on her hot choco, eyeing the coffee pot thoughtfully, but hey, she probably doesn't need anymore caffeine.

Nightingale has posed:
"Thanks, miss Munroe. Don't mind if I do." Smiling, Shannon is perhaps a little more cautious in her sampling of the avocado salad, plucking one creamy green cube from the bowl with her fork, and sniffing at it. She turns it over a few times, looking at the strange thing on her fork, and takes a small nibble.

     Jackpot.

For a moment, it looks as if the young woman is in heaven, a smile spreading across her face. "You might wind up having to fight Megan and I for that salad. That's some seriously good stuff. Would you be willing to show us how to make it one day?"

A sympathetic glance is given to Warren, and she shakes her head. "On second thought, maybe that'd be too cruel a prank to play..." Megan's remark about wings wipes the smile right off of her face, and she presses her lips together in a thin line. "I already do miss it. But even more, I miss actually being able to help people the way I could before."

Storm has posed:
Ro laughs softly and let the girls have at her bowl of salad as she goes through the motions of making fresh coffee. Hip checking Warren gently towards the girls to get him out of her way to do so. After a few moments, Warren would find a cup of steaming black coffee put in front of him, alongside an english muffin, toasted and lightly coated in butter.

"I do, yes." In regards to the question about growing her own and smiling when Megan mentions her garden plot. "I would be happy to help." Said with a warm smile. Chuckling when the girls take to the salad and she walks to the fridge to take out a second bowl, balling up the seran wrap used and gestures to the girls to eat up.

When Megan seems to dim about missing flying, Ro lets a breeze shift around the girl with a smile. "I do not think it will be long before you are back in the sky. Do not lose heart."

Archangel has posed:
As coffee and an English muffin materialize in front of him without much effort on his part, the bleary eyed Warren looks over to Ororo and says the first audible words of the morning, "Marry me?"

That's all that he can say, because no sooner than the words left his mouth the cup is lifted to them as he takes the first sip. Letting the bitter liquid sear his tongue and the roof of his mouth, Warren emits another sound, this one of content and happiness as his wings start to regain some of the perk, ruffling out behind him.

"Thanks, 'Ro. You're a lifesaver."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles faintly and nods to Ororo. "Thanks, Miss Munroe. I can't wait til Spring, all this cold weather kinda sucks.." she pouts a bit, and it's clear the snow doesn't help with her mood either. "I'll also work extra hard on my garden next year, although I'm not really sure where I will be next year to be honest.."

Seems she is still having doubts about getting her wings back though. And yeah, still greedily eyeing Warren's wings the whole time. "Soo uh, Mr. Worthington, do you think I could..Book a session with you..Sometime soon?"

Her nose quivers at the scent of coffee. But really, she should stay away from that stuff..

Nightingale has posed:
That hint of a breeze in the vicinity of both girls brings a bit of a smile to Shannon's face. For a moment, she closes her eyes, allowing herself to dream. "If anybody can figure this thing out, miss Munroe, it'd be Dr. McCoy. Plus, miss Grey's called in some additional help for him, so there's that. We'll be back in the sky before you know it."

Her smile turns into something of a smirk, growing wider and wider still. "Those bigots picked the wrong group of mutants to mess with. We'll figure out a cure to their little 'Cure', and maybe take some of the wind out of their sails when their little 'toy' doesn't work so well anymore."

Leaning over on her stool, she reaches out to give Megan a hug, smiling. "No coffee for you. You've got enough energy for the entire school, anyways."

She does look over at Warren briefly, smiling somewhat. "Make that two. Megan first."

Storm has posed:
Ororo laughs softly and kisses Warren's cheek at his proposal of marriage. "I have been told this, yes." Chuckling at the avarice in which Warren regards the coffee. She takes a sip from her thermos and tucks into her new bowl of salad as she watches the girls demolish the original. "I can show you both how to make that, if you wish. As for where you will be next year? You will be here." This is said with a finality that begs anyone to contradict her.

"We are your family." Addressing both girls, "Powers, no powers...it makes little difference. Do not lose heart, as we certainly have not." The warmth of her tone and the smile of assurance is like the warm breeze of a summer's day. "As for taking flight, I am certain that Warren, myself and Scott can come up with something." Glancing to Warren for a moment as a few ideas spark to life in her mind. Though, he seems more focused on coffee and his muffins. Shaking her head fondly. "Quite right." Agreeing with Shannon on all fronts.

"Now, if you will excuse me, I'm due for a run." She needed to change before doing so, but she had that all in hand as well. "Enjoy the salad, I will make sure to send you both the instructions on how to make it."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles faintly at Shannon, returning the hug, and nodding to Ororo as well. "I hope so. Just..If I'm paid to be a superhero, but I have no powers, or at least I only have magic - and limited magic at that - can I still be an Xman? That's my main concern.."

She nods to Shannon, "And yeah, I know Dr. McCoy is brilliant and our only hope really, just..Trying to prepare for the worst, you know?"

She nods and waves to Ororo and Warren as they head off. "See you later!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie comes walking in hearing the last bit. He will look over to those here nodding his head to them. He heads over to get some Ice Tea, and does not interrupt, at least not yet, waiting to see more what the conversation is and where it leads.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just turns and pins Megan with a 'look', quirking her eyebrows upwards and cracking a light smile. "Okay, Megan. First off, not every hero has powers. Look at Mr. Stark, for example. No powers like ours that I know of, but look where he's at. Or Batman, for another example. I could be wrong, but nobody's ever talked about him having powers, but he's got the skills and tools to do what he does. And I'm pretty sure Hawkeye isn't pwoered, either. But I still wouldn't mess with any one of them. All three men make the best use of the skillsets they have to do what they need to do. They work their asses off at it. Who's to say you can't do the same? What makes you so different from them?"

Another hug is given, and she goes right back to dividing her attention between the mac 'n cheese in front of her, and what's left of the avocado salad miss Munroe left behind. "As for being an X-man, I'd talk to Mr. Summers and miss Grey about that. I don't see them turfing either of us out, though. Like miss Munroe said, we're family here."

Waving her fork at Sam, she smiles. "Hey, big bro... how's it going?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn pouts, "Buuuuut, Mr. Stark is like, Super intelligent and builds giant robot thingies! Doesn't that count as a super power?" she shrugs, "I guess I just dont feel like I have any special...Skills to offer really. Even with music, I'm mediocre at best. Good enough to be a backup singer or keyboardist, but never the main show y'know?"

As for sam, she smiles faintly and nods to him. "Hi Sam, how've you been?" oh yeah, she's missing her wings and pink hair. They're both missing their wings. Fuuun.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the ladies and says "Doing pretty good" He offers to them, but then his phone rings, and he looks at it "Need to take this it is Ma." HE explains tot he girls.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles to Sam and gives him a quick hug. "Tell her I said hi, okay?" She turns away to let him take care of his phone call, and just looks right at Megan again. "And what the heck do you think I am, the next Andrea Jackson or Dazzler? No way. Am I the next miracle worker in the local ER? Not at this point, no. But with music or medicine, I can study my hind end off, work like the dickens, and get better. So can you, at anything you choose."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn shakes her head. "Nah, you're pretty talented, both as a singer and as a healer. Me? I'm still trying to find myself. They always say everyone's good at something, i haven't quite found out what though."

She yawns as she finishes off her meal. "well, I should get ready to go back to classes, even if this will be my last semester here." heck, it maybe her last semester at the school before Scott may well kick her out.

Nightingale has posed:
"You will, though. I've never seen you quit at anything, and I don't see you giving up now. Also, honestly? I really don't think that they're just going to give up on us and turf us out."

Giving Megan one more hug, she smiles. "You go study, I'll clean up in here. We're going to be okay. It's going to be one heck of a wild ride, but we're going to be okay."
