The Cure: The Missing Link

Pixie has posed:
Not long ago, there had been an assassination attempt on Dr Brightman - inventor of the mutant cure-'s life. Fortunately members of the Xmen and the Avengers had worked together to save his life and take him someplace safe. Unfortunately, he had left so,e important paperwork related to his antidote back in the basement lab of his country cottage in the forest.

Determined to be of some help, Megan - recently depowered but not totally powerless Xman - had volunteered to port down here and retrieve the missing papers.

Unfortunately a feral Beast was still roaming about these parts, and as she steps towards the cottage, she is definitely not alone, as one of the reavers and hired assassins is still lurking around looking for Beast.

It is the female cyborg with the four powerful arms and multiple swords that spies Megan and slowly approaches her from behind, swords at the ready.

Thor has posed:
Thor, resident God of Thunder (and lo and behold, he will always remind), he seems to arrive as if in response to some prayer, the sky turns black and rain falls from the heavens, with the rumblings of thunder following swiftly. He descends with a lightning bolt, Mjolnir in hand as he descends towards the female cyborg.

His intention?

Land directly upon it and smash it to pieces with a swing of Mjolnir. He's dressed ready for battle, wearing his Asgardian armor along with a flowing red cloak that hangs from his shoulders. His hair falls to his shoulders and a beard covers his face.

It can only be the Mightiest.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn wasn't expecting thunder and rain in the middle of winter no less, and she sighs, "Ohhhh greaaat. It just had to be one of those days, didn't it?" she shivers a bit but at least she wore a nice warm coat.

Its only a moment later that she sees Thor descend from the heavens, like literally. Talk about melodramatic! She yelps and cringes, pressing against the door frame, and initially just assumes he's about to drop holy terror on her - Yknow because the last time they met, she *did* accidentally misfire and sprinkle him with faerie dust, for the usual comical and perhaps annoying effects on its victims.

Its only when she turns around to see the cyborg behind her that she realizes how close she was from becoming sushi. And while the cyborg is fairly fast and agile, she certainly wasn't expecting a lightning quick assault from on high.

Theres not really much left of the cyborg once Thor is trough with her, left twitching spasmodically on the ground. Megan meeps! "M-mister Thor! How did you...What are you...I mean, wow, you just saved my life..Thanks, I think?" meep, hopefully she's not next?!

Thor has posed:
Thor rises back to his full height before his attention shifts to Megan. He did not possess his helmet at the moment, so he's easily seen. He approaches Megan then, his hand squeezed tight around Mjolnir's handle as he looks her in the eyes. "Kindly don't use thy glitter upon me." this is clearly meant to be an order and he was not pleased the last time.

Then his expression seems to soften. "I had heard you may have required aid, and I am here to help. Though you should be aware that there are more of those things present here." He advises simply.

Thankfully, she's not next.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn meeps, eyeing that hammer warily, then laughs rather nervously. "Meep! I'm sorry! I didn't expect that baddie to move so fast! I mean..No hard feelings, right?" she holds up her hands as if in surrender.

Glancing at the twitching cyborg, Megan nods, "Right, I thought members of the Avengers and the Xmen had dealt with them all but..Guess not?" she shivers, using the key that Brightman had offered her to open the front door. "I could use the extra security. You're right, there's could be more, especially after a very feral looking Beast fled into the forest. They're probably looking for him too..Hope he's safe."

With a sigh she steps in, glancing over her shoulder, "But there's a more pressing matter right now. See, after Dr Brightman fled, he left some important notes behind, containing the formula for an antidote to the cure. We need to find them before DAMT can destroy them..But Geez, what a mess.."

Thor has posed:
Thor looks at Megan for a long moment. "Aye, no hard feelings." Thor keeps Mjolnir in hand, though his attention shifts to the cyborg. "From what I know, they grow like weeds. Even if you cut them down as best you can, they can still rise again. Furthermore, we know not where they are coming from." he shakes his head ever so slightly.

"Was this the Beast's last known location?" he questions curiously, though his attention swiftly shifts elsewhere, pondering a moment. "I see. Is this the general area where the notes are suspected to be found?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs and nods, "Ohh..Really? Never fought cyborgs before but maybe we'll get lucky and not encounter anymore." as for the notes, she nods, "Right, Beast and Brightman were locked up in the basement laboratory, experimenting on an antidote..I assume Beast used it on himself a bit too well, and he went a bit crazy.." she shivers, "Iguess we should look for him after.."

Assuming Thor follows, Megan will glance around the cottage living room which is still a mess, upturned furniture and clothes and blankets strewn about. Looks like a burglary. "Umm. I guess the lab would be in the basement..?"

Thor has posed:
Thor nods only once to Megan. "With Odin's blessing." he seems to agree, though he follows Megan as she walks along the path, with his eyes on the cottage and said eyes slightly narrowed, as if to suspect if something is in there. "Tread carefully. I doubt the man would leave his most important notes unguarded." he advises.

"Insanity is an unwelcome side effect to any potion." he unhelpfully adds with a light smirk, though he does seem incredibly invested. "More than likely. Mayhaps I should go first."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn bites her lip and nods, eyes scanning the area nervously. "Right, after you, then!" she slows her gait, waits for him to take point as they head towards the basement laboratory..

Its dark down there, lights flickering and quite a mess with papers strewn everywhere and upturned furniture. Wait, what are those buzzing sounds? A second glance may reveal about four or five drones buzzing around the lab, grabbing this and that With their claws, clearly invaders searching for...Something..

Thor has posed:
Thor nods lightly to Megan as he takes point, hammer in hand and the skies still thundering and broiling overhead. He keeps weapon in hand as he descends down those stairs, looking to the basement laboratory as four or five drones are apparently buzzing about the lab. Thor, in a growl, leaps forward immediately, intending to smash one of the bots with Mjolnir. Of course, that means Megan has three or four other bots to target and help out with.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn meeps, glancing around. "What's this? This is nuts!" but even as she speaks, the drones turn to face them, buzzing. Thor instantly takes out the first which falls to the ground in a crackled heap.

Immediately two more make a beeline for him, shooting out electric pulses. Clearly outmatched. A third aims to zap Megan who ducks and summons a soul dagger, hurling it at the creature, short circuiting it and sending it flying before her dagger vanishes.

But another drone that was hiding, darts out from under a desk, carrying a parcel of important looking documents, buzzing with lightning speed around the room as it aims for an open window.

"Meep! The documents!"

Thor has posed:
Thor managed to smash the bot, before his attention shifts to the drone who seems to be in a mad scramble and likely having important documents that would shed light on the situation. So, Thor - who admittedly doubts the drone is capable of escaping his wrath - throws Mjolnir with haste at the drone who tries to zip away.

If all goes well, that hammer will fly true and smash into the drone, hopefully leaving the documents intact.

Pixie has posed:
Bzzzztk! The drones crack and Spock as Thor destroys them. The last drone buzzes around wildly trying to escape his hammer, but the hammer is pretty damn fast and it quickly over takes the drone, leaving it as nothing more than broken circuitry in the ground.

Unfortunately it has caught on fire and the end to blow up the documents if they're not retrieved quickly, landing next to the destroyed drone.

"Ack!" Megan makes a dive for them, retrieving them before the droid blows up, dusting them off and breathing a sigh of relief. looking around it seems that the other droids were quickly taken care of as well.

"Phew what a relief..Now we just need to take em back to Dr Brightman..But what about Beast? He's probably still running about the forest somewhere. I hope the Reavers didn't catch him?"

Thor has posed:
Thor summons his hammer back to his grasp, apparently looking rather unphased by the documents almost burning up and making their entire mission pointless. Thankfully though, he smiles ever so softly when Megan seems to have saved it.

"Good work. As for our friend, the Beast...I believe if we search for him, we'll find him. I'll see if he's in the immediate area." and with those words, Thor is already on the move, apparently having no patience for more computer/paperwork like trackers and the like.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn beams, "Thanks! I'll take these back to Dr Brightman before they send more goons out.." and with a few murmured words, she vanished in a flash of pink light.
