Cast of Characters: Thor, Power Girl

Thor has posed:
The skies of St. Martin Island.

Quiet. Peaceful. In fact, there's not even a cloud in sight. Perhaps this was Thor's intention when he was happy to schedule a meeting with Power Girl, a friend whom he's served with in the heroic line of duty on multiple occasions. All the same, Thor is present in the skies, Mjolnir in his hand and dressed in his fine armor, flowing red cape hangs from his shoulders and slightly past his feet.

He waits, patiently, for Power Girl to arrive. Of course, Kryptonians are known to be quite busy, just like Asgardian Princes.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl suggested St. Martin Island for its proximity to Metropolis, of course. Not that distance is much of a factor, with her speed. She doesn't so much fly up to meet him as -float- upward. Or really, her ascent is more like 'falling up'... in slow motion.

The blonde's red cape makes her easy to spot, fluttering in the light wind as she reaches his altitude. "Nice armor." the heroine offers, with a small smile.

Thor has posed:
Well, when both heroes can easily break the sound barrier and beyond, it becomes less of a feared thing if something happens in Metropolis and it doesn't get handled. Though Thor senses the change in the wind, and imagine his not-surprised expression when he looks down to see Power Girl floating up towards him.

With a bow of his head and a warm smile, he nods. "Aye, likewise." Thor compliments her. No doubt Power Girl gets showered with compliments on a minute-basis, but it may seem more genuine coming from Thor, who tends not to value good looks too heavily, but strength of character.

"Its been some time. How do you fare?" he questions.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl's short hair ruffles in the wind, her cape whipping back and forth as she hovers. A slight lift of a foot brings her closer to him, and she shrugs. "As well as can be expected, really. Not a lot going on in Metropolis that's out of sorts." At least nothing that the local heroes can't handle. "At the very least we seem to be short on global threats at the moment. Which makes me concerned."

Thor has posed:
Thor smiles a bit more at Power Girl, his own cloak flowing gloriously in the heavy breeze of their altitude. "Not much happening in New Asgard either. It flourishes under my sister's management, even as I keep her ways in check, lest there be a new war in the Nine Realms." Thor offers, perhaps unhelpfully or disturbingly.

"Its moment such as that which has me happy that this has become a new age of heroes. That way, many of us may be focused on the next great catastrophy. Pray that it does not become Ragnarok." Thor informs her with a small smile. Ragnarok was more than the destruction of Asgard. It was the destruction of all things.

"I am not disturbed. It means our enemies are planning in fear that we will once again defeat them on the field of battle."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl tilts her head at his casual reference to his sister's influence in New Asgard. And the possibility of war. She folds her arms, hovering a little closer to him. Karen lacks his experience, of course, being grown in a lab and trained for the explicit purpose of destroying the Justice League. But just because she's been trained in the ways of war and of battle doesn't mean she is a glory-hound.

"Or it could mean that our enemies are waiting for us to be looking the other way to sucker-punch us." she replies.

Thor has posed:
Thor nods slightly.

"Aye, it could most certainly be that way. Though can you name a moment where the enemy was able to defeat us?" Call it arrogance, but Thor is right. They've always risen above. "We will be prepared for whatever vile schemes they plot against us." He smiles at her.

"Sothen, it occurs to me that we have not spoken much outside of missions. Would you tell me about yourself?" Thor asks of her. Of course, its a personal question, but its one that PG may refuse to answer.

Power Girl has posed:
Arms still folded, Power Girl doesn't look happy with his answer, whether out of confidence or arrogance on his part. Everyone has their weaknesses, which is something she's all too aware of. Her nose wrinkles, lips pursing.

That requires either a long answer or none. She chooses none, for the moment.

"Well I'm really a big techno-nerd. Don't let the cape and muscles fool you. I'm also a big fan of Chinese food, sunsets, romantic comedies, and long walks along the beach." Yeah, and she almost manages the delivery without cracking a smile. Almost.

"Yes, I have a secret identity. And no, I'm not passing it out on business cards."

Thor has posed:
Thor looks upon Power Girl with a smile on his face. "Very interesting. I also enjoy Chinese Food, and I have watched Romanoff enjoy these...romantic comedies." he says with a small smile. "Long walks are also a favorite of mine, though not only on a beach, but really anywhere." His other favorite time is literally fighting. But!

Thor nods softly to her. "I see. I do not have a secret identity, but it would seem I will have to earn knowledge of yours. Would you care to watch one of these sunsets or romantic comedies sometime?" He questions her curiously.

Did...Thor just ask her out?

"I am unaware of the courtship practices of Midgard, so I ask for your grace in such regards." he tells her then.

Power Girl has posed:
Blink. Blink-a-blink. It takes Power Girl a moment to process what he's saying, and parse out what he really means by it. Courtship practices... watching a movie... taking a long walk... together.

Karen is technically only six years old, lacking practical experience in many things. And while she has READ about so much of human culture, one of the significant drawbacks of her being a clone is that lack of actual hands-on knowledge. She's read about dates and she's even seen plenty of movies, but that's as far as things go.

For a brief second she wants to punch him. Things are so much easier when she's punching.

It's just dinner, Karen. Dinner and a movie. How hard could it be, right? She draws a deep breath, exhaling slowly. It takes a couple seconds, and in that time sorts her mental and emotional laundry.

"Um... sure. I'll grant you... grace, as you say. We'll start this slow, then. Dinner and a movie. Chinese take-out."

Thor has posed:
Thor probably would've taken that punch too, but not even the God of Thunder can deny attraction to Power Girl.

Furthermore, even Karen can tell that Thor's offer is genuine and there's probably not a creepy ulterior motive behind it. Dinner and a movie that Thor probably won't understand. What's not to like? But Power Girl accepting the date from Thor makes him smile big and wide, the infectious sort of smile.

"Excellent! By the honor of Odin, we will have a time to tell tales about." Thor announces proudly. "Besides, out of all Midgard cuisine, this 'Chinese food' has been among my favorites." he nods proudly then. "I suppose I now must ask your schedule, and what time may work for you to meet and begin our festivities?"

Power Girl has posed:
By the honor of Odin? Begin our festivities? Hell, it's just a date, right? Karen coughs softly, clearing her throat.

"Well I do have a 'day job'... which I might tell you about someday-but-not-today... so it'll have to be when I get off work. Unless it's on a weekend, of course, then I'm free all night."

Dammit, that's NOT what she meant.

The buxom blonde smiles a little, then. "Tell you what, Thor. I'll tell you everything about Midgard Courtship, and in return you tell me how Asgardians do it. Okay?"

How Asgardians 'do it'? Double dammit.

Her arms slowly unfold, and for lack of any better place to put her hands she rests them on her hips.

Thor has posed:
Asgardians have a certain way of speech. Thor's not attempting to imply anything, just that its going to be enjoyable for both of them, regardless of what they decide to get up to. But, when he hears about her day job and of course, the weekend, Thor smiles and nods.

"Aye. I'm very flexible-" cue internal dammit. "so I'll be able to fit well with your schedule, I believe." he smiles.

All night, huh?

Thor doesn't make assumptions about stuff like that, but he does nod in agreement to Power Girl's deal. "I see. I believe it would be beneficial for both of us to understand each other's cultures and what all goes into it. Its a deal, then." He nods, putting Mjolnir on his belt with a hook and lets his hands hang at his sides in a relaxed position.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl just hovers there, red cape fluttering in a casual pose that can't help but look heroic. Then again, Thor is also wearing a red cape. "Technically speaking, MY culture is Kryptonian; I just don't remember anything about it. But we're getting ahead of ourselves."

He's very flexible? Oh reeeeeally. Karen's upper lip twitches into a bit more of a grin.

"Let's plan on meeting in costume, then. Probably grab carry-out and pick someplace out of the way for dinner. If all goes well, we'll do a later date out of costume..."

Dammit, Karen...

"I mean, in 'civilian' clothes, of course."

Thor has posed:
"Fair enough." Thor replies on Power Girl's culture being Kryptonian, but last he heard the planet had long been lost.

All the same, to the current point. "Very well. I tend to be more comfortable in my plate besides." Thor offers with a small smile. "I would like that. Maybe then I will learn your true name and not what you are called by many, yes?" Thor chuckles.

"But first trust must be earned, never freely given. Perhaps a rooftop for dinner? Or simply someplace rather quiet?"

Power Girl has posed:
"Rooftop it is." she replies. "And Power Girl is as much my true name as the one I use when I'm not wearing a cape." Pause. "It's complicated." The woman rattles off an address in Metropolis, then. "Let's meet on the northeast corner of the roof. I'll bring drinks if you bring dinner, and we'll call it even at that." She shrugs, then. "Who knows? With enough soy sauce, there's no telling WHAT secrets I'll reveal."

Thor has posed:
Thor nods affirmatively. "Aye." Though he looks slightly confused as Power Girl reiterates that her codename is just as real to her as her civilian name. "So I see. Alas, I don't understand having two names, to all and to myself, I am simply Thor." he comments with a small smirk.

Thor recieves the address and takes a second to memorize it before nodding. "Very well, I will meet you then. I will even request them to add extra soy sauce to see what you are willing to reveal." Thor smirks, before taking his hammer in hand and starting to twirl it.

"Until next we meet then, Power Girl." Thor gives her a winning, flirtatious smile, before he smiles off into the sunset with a date in his schedule.
