An Odd Little Coffee..
Date of Scene: 15 February 2021
Location: Coffee Shop, Mercutio's - Gotham
Synopsis: Willow meets Austin, and they a good time over coffee and biscotti.
Cast of Characters: Sentinel (Dallas), Willow Rosenberg

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas hadn't been expecting the call that he got. He had after all barely me Mr. Raith, but the man was now hooking him up on a blind date. Still, it's not like he had anything better to do, and when "the patron god of men's underware modeling" says that a girl is pretty, smart, and funny... well that is high praise. And besides it's just coffee, what is the worst that could happen. So he is sitting at a table dressed exactly as he promised he would, a red Gotham Knights hoodie and black jeans... Oh and he has a monkey on his shoulder.

Tina, the capuchin monkey, for her part is dressed like Princess Jasmine and resting on the Austin's shoulder, delicately nibbling on a piece of banana nut muffin that is sitting on a plate in front of him.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Just like her to be late *this time*. Drats! Her class went late, and missed the bus.. so instead of being early, so was most definitely late. Mr. Italo looked over her and tsk's, made her a coffee, threw in a couple of biscotti and pointed. "I think he has been waiting, yes? Shoo, don't keep him any longer."

And then she had nothing else to do except go over and introduce herself. "Are you the one Thomas sent over?" Of course. Mr. Italo told her. "Hi, I'm Willow. Like the tree. Only shorter!"

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins a little bit as he stands up and offers his own hand to her, grinning slightly. "You make it sound like I'm an escort he hired." he says playfully and smiles, "I'm Austin Dallas... Like the cities, only allot smaller." he says with a smile and then gestures to his companion. "And this is Tina." He adds as the monkey extends her hand as well, though knuckles down.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"He said you had a monkey!" She takes Tina's hand very seriously, "How do you do!" Willow grins and takes a seat. "So like Austin, huh? I'm sorry. I meant to be here earlier, and it's been so long since anyone took me on a date, I guess I blurted it out. You're definitely not an escort! And I guess I should say there is another set of doors by the bathroom in case you need to quickly get out of here. Phew." She said much the way of getting out there, and was definitely relieved to do it. "Oh! I think one of these are for you from Mr. Italo. He finds you ok."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas chuckles slightly and Tina chitters just a little bit, both of them amused and he takes one of the biscotti and grins just a little bit, "well lets at least have some form of conversation before we work out escape routes." He says with a smile. Tina moves from her perch on his shoulder to a booster seat beside him, pulling the rest of the muffin he was eating over to her as he nibbles the biscotti. "Try to relax okay, your heart is practically hammering."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow quirks her head at that. "How do you know.. oh.." Now she has two problems. One is her heart is pounding. But most of all, she is embarrassed. "I guess that tells me you aren't in hiding? Did Thomas tell you my secret?" Secret*S*

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas shakes his head slightly. "He said she is pretty, funny, very smart... And sort of looks like that girl from American Pie. the one from Band camp." He says with a bit of a grin. "And I can say this much he's definitely not a lier." He grins a bit and Tina rolls her eyes and eats more muffin. "In hiding about what though?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"He did? I am really smart, that's for certain. " Willow says it as a matter of fact, not bragging. "I thought.. What I mean is.."

She stops for a moment and worries at her lower lips. And then carries on carefully.

"Some people don't like it if their mutantcy is known amongst anyone except their close contacts. I thought that how you heard my heart. It might not be?" She carries on. "I'm a witch. I mean I'm a pagan witch, and I usually let people think that, but I'm a witch witch besides."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas ahhs and smiles a bit and tilts his head slightly. "Well you're right actually," He says with a bit of a grin, tilting his head slightly. "I don't normally broadcast it, but I don't hide it either. I have enhanced senses basically. i can see, hear, smell ectera better then other people." He grins a little bit, "For instance... you came here from a place that had allot of people crowded together. This morning you used some sort of Strawbeery and cream shampoo... and.." He closes his eyes as if trying to isolate one smell, "And I smell cooked sugar and vanilla and chocolate... did you bake cookies in the last few days?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
He hits upon her shampoo and she blushes. Thankfully he skips that and settles on her baking! "It was my friend's birthday, so I made some cookies. They're definitely cheap, but they taste really good. It's the only thing I'm good at in the kitchen."

And she isn't kidding. Poor Amy *still* was a rat because she had yet to come up with the right potion!

"I managed to get scholarships this year, so I don't have to work as much, or you would smell coffee. I mean I *work* there, and at the Magic Box, but not as much."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins a little bit and Tina rolls her eyes at him. Likely she's seen whatever routine he's about to do before. He tilts his head. "Let's see what else... You have microscopic scars on your lower lip, so I bet you bite it allot." He takes her hand running his fingertips over it. "You've got lot's of micro scars here too.. I'm guessing you do allot of reading. Real books whenever you can get your hands on them."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow laughs at him. "Well, d'uh. You only have to watch me for a little bit to see that I like books. Though my one major is computer science. And before you ask, Mathematics in Fundamental Systems, and somethings as well."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins a bit, shrugging slightly and smirking, "well sure, but I /haven't/ watched you, have I?" He asks with a smile. "There are these little tells, things most people just don't notice. I tend to."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow laughs. "And I don't know anything about you. Except you're shy, because whenever you are introduced to people you are confronted with all these smells and other things, to be with them requires you to be intimate with them." By the time she has finished her sentence she is quiet and isn't laughing anymore. "That must be hard."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas smiles a little bit and Tina, for her part, reaches over and pats her friend's hand reassuringly, chirping softly at Willow. Austin shrugs a little bit. "It's...rough sometimes. You get to know details about people they probibly don't want to share... And I can't always be sure what those details are because...well I don't know what it is other people don't know, you know?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"It's easier to stand apart from them, isn't it. But I bet your friends are really special." Willow shrugs. "My talent is different. The average person doesn't even know about magic. It's really something I can't explain, but if you could do magic, I'd know. But then again you'd know me too. Kinda like a nethacker, really. You wouldn't know it unless you were one, and then you would see all sorts of clues."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins just a little bit, tilting his head a bit. "So, you are not the first person I've met who claimed they can do magic... but usually when they do, their heart will beat just a touch faster, their breath will become just a bit hitched... their palms will sweat slightly... You...didn't do any of that... which tells me you are telling the truth which is completely fascenating. so you'r talking real magic... Like Dr. Strange?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Oh yes, but I've never met him. But I was a pupil of John Constantine. I think I scared him." Willow just shakes her head. "He's really good, but he smells like cigarettes and drinks too much."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas chuckles slightly but shakes his head. "Ugh, I hate chain smokers. It's hard to even be in the same room with one. It feels like someone is just pouring tar down my nose and throat.' He says shuddering. Tina nods slightly, agreeing... and having finished Austin's muffin reaches for his forgotten biscotti.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Well, I think he hates himself. That's why. So when everybody hasn't liked him, he's not only prepared, but everyone is protected from him." Willow looks down on her hands. "I liked him. He must have been worried about me to decide to take me under his wings. He's been gone for awhile. I hope he's okay."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas smiles a bit and reaches out and gives her arm a gentle squeeze. "I've got this friend too. She's one of those hyper activist types. You know the kind who are in the news sometimes, going to extreme lengths. I worrty about her allot too... So I kinda get it."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow looks up. "Oh? Then you know what I mean then. Anyway, he's gone right now, and I don't have anyone to be a pupil under. Sooo.." She picks up her coffee mug. "Not good first date material. I know." She scrunches up her nose.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas laughs a little bit and shrugs, "Well i haven't had many of them, so I'm not sure I would know. But you are deffinatly interesting." He says with a bit of a smile. "So is it something you can't explain to a layman? I mean the Magic thing.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Do you mean can I explain it to you?" Willow wants to be certain she got it right.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas shrugs, "Sure. You said there are tells, right? What sort of tells? Like do Wizards blow out electricity?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Hrm." Willow sits back and puts her mug to the side."You know how you have extra sensory perception? It's like that, sort of. Imagine trying to say you could smell everything I have been in contact with, only now, imagine it's the seventh sense, in instead of the smells, you could, with a single word or motion could make something happen. You couldn't always show them what was going on, but the magic would still be there. You know? Every magician has his own particular sense of magic. No two are the same. That's why it is so important to find someone who meshes well with you."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas considers, tilting his head slightly as he tries to understand. "I suppose I can understand that... So it's a matter of making sure that the person teaching you at least has aa similar frame of reference to yours, even if it is technically different?" he asks curiously.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Yeah, exactly. Same as you would find someone who is a brick to teach you your special talent. I mean it's better than no one, but only by a bit." Willow smiles. "Sometimes I can't tell my best friend about this. Even more so when she started to date. She started to hang out with different people, and all of them to have partners. Well, sorta. She's a brick, and I'm not."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas nods slightly. "Well I might not be able to understand magic exactly, but like I said I understand what it's like to experience the world in a different way then most people." He says with a smile sipping his coffee and reaching for his Biscotti only to find his plate empty. He shoots a glare at the monkey who gives him an innocet "Who me?" look.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow gets the giggles. "We can get more of them, really. This time one for each of us, including Tina."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Tina grins and points her thumb at Willow as if to say ~See, she gets it.~ And he smiles. "Why don't we get them to go? We can go for a walk or something." He says with a smile.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"You like walks?" Willow is surprised. "It's not too bad outside. We can get another coffee to go, and biscotti, of course. Some day, if you are still around, you can meet Buffy, but, and it's a big but, don't let her chase you off. She's protective. But otherwise she pretty nice. She's going out with Thomas. You know the one who thinks I'm smart." She grins.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins a little bit, "Actually I'm normally pretty hyper. I actually practice MMA, so it's always good exercise." He says with a grin going up to order them coffees and more biscotti. "He seemed pretty protective of you too... I mean he kinda hinted they might never find the body if i was inappropriate."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Great," Willow laughs. "Maybe you should Buffy!" But she blinks at that extra bit of knowledge. "Does everyone think I'm incapable of being in charge of myself?"

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas smiles a bit and shrugs. "I dunno, some people just put off that lost kitten vibe. It makes other people want to protect them." He says with a smile, "I mean I barely know you, and I'm already thinking "Okay at the end of this, have to make sure she gets in a cab to get home. Can't trust public transit with a nice girl like this."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow puts on a frown. "Really? Yet, I am perfectly capable of stopping you from doing anything I don't wish you to do. Really." She wriggles her hand about, as if to say 'Magic!'. "And not a cab. This is close to home, and I can't afford a cab."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas nods slightly, but shrugs. "Well I believe you, intelectually at least, I'm talking more about nature. Instinct." He shrugs a bit and smile. "And I would have paid for the cab, but if it is so close... maybe I can walk you there?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"See? Nobody would say the same things to Buffy. And part of that is what I was talking about 'don't let her boss you around'." Willow takes her takeout mug of coffee, and the bag of biscotti, and opens the door. "Would you feel better if I could throw you around with your MMA? Because I don't know it, but I opened the door between here and Apokolips and held it. And I most certainly creamed the.. Never mind. I know what you mean. Doesn't mean I am happy about it. I feel sometime it is keeping me back with my studies."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas lets her hold the door for him, handing Tina her small cup of (decfinated) coffee and tilts his head slightly, "How is that? You mean magically?" he asks curiously, waiting for her to pick the direction of her walk and adds, "And for the record? I'd offer to walk Powergirl home.... which would be silly since she can fly, but yah know, it's the gentlemanly thing to do."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Is it weird I would like you to walk me home? Then again, I wouldn't have been upset to walk you home. If you want, there is a park on the property? We can go there?" As for the other, Willow nods. "I was one of the keepers to hold it open. John was my conduit." Note: he wasn't the person who held it open. Just a source of energy she drew upon.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins a bit, "I don't think it's weird..." To which Tina raises her hand and nods solomly, as if to say ~I think it's weird anyone would want to spend any more time with him then they needed to.~ He smiles, "I think I would defiantly like to walk you home." He smiles a bit sipping his coffee and nodding, "But then how is people wanting to look after you holding you back? I mean I assume we aren't saying they want to do your English Lit. Papaers for you."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow laughs. "They leave university to me." She walks on slowly. "My studies.. They've always kept me protected, to the point I often don't trust myself. How can I get better when I can't trust me or them?"

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas nods slightly, "Like someone who gets driven everywhere, even though they have a license. Sure they know they can drive, but are they really any good at it. Will they freeze up when th excrement his the circular air distribution device?" he says with a bit of a grin. "Yeah I can see how that would be frustrating.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Exactly." Willow grins. "You know? I have my license, but no car. Who needs it in New York?"

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Tina throws up her hands as if to say "Hallelujah!," But Austin just shakes his head. "I love my car, and yeah it's expensive to keep, but what else do I have to spend my money on?" he asks with a grin... while Tina points feverishly to herself. ~me. You could spend it on me you stupid hairless chimp.~

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow gets the giggles over Tina's 'hand language'. "I think you're going to get it when I go to bed and she has you all to herself."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins slightly and rolls his eyes, "What is she gonna do? Steal my pillow, again?" he asks with a bit of amusement on his lips. "You know when she came to live with me I bought her this huge bed thing... And she refuses to sleep in it."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Tina.. sleeps with you?" Willow really should be nosy, but she had to know. "What if you had a girl who you wanted to sleep with her, and not Tina?" Willow's cheek pinken. "Not that it is none of my business."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas looks a bit amused at the question. "Then she better damn well make use of her bed I guess. and besides I don't really think it's /me/. you have to remember that all my senses are turned up to eleven. I can't turn them off... So I have silk sheets." he says it amused and Tina just hugs herself as if in memory.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Then.." Willow suggests it. "Why don't you give her own silk sheets?" But she laughs at the outrage. "I take it you haven't had lots of overnight guests?"

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas blushes slightly at that question and shakes his head. "I mean Mindy sometimes spends the night on the sofa if she needs a place to crash when one of her groups does something stupid." He stammers. Behind his back Tina rolls her eyes and shakes her head, holding her fand in a circle shape...to indicate how many "non-best friend" females have spent the night at his place.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Tina's indication there were 'zero' non-best friend females, gave Willow another blush. "I'm sorry. None of it is my business.. If there is any consolation I've never had a person in my bedroom the whole time I have been there. Three years. And before that I was at my parents. So.. you can imagine." She rolls her eyes.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas blushes just a little bit and nods his understanding at that. "the last girlfriend I had... Her name was Felicty, this was in HighSchool... Anyway didn't see it coming, just one day she comes into the cafeteria... and she smells like our friend Cody... Like all over her... " He shrugs a bit, "Haven't felt like dating much since then, yah know?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"I mean I did sleep with one or two, but never at my parents house. They would flipped. And now? Between my schooling, my jobs, and my other responsibilities I haven't really had time to."

She listens to his tale and is appalled. "Why do people not be honest between friends and lovers? I never understood that. ..uh in that sort of thing.. I'm bi."

Well, it was nice to know you..

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas tilts his head slightly looking her over and then he grins just slightly, "If I say that's kinda hot, are you going to run away screaming or mace me or something... I can smell the pepper spray in your purse by the way. good on you for carrying something to protect yourself."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
How did he know.. ah.. nevermind.

"Would you feel the same way if I said you were hot if you were bi? Not that you are, but if you were.." Willow relaxed. "People think I can only like 'boy' parts, when really, it's not the parts but the people in them. And before you get around to it, I am a pagan. Occasionally I get naked under the moon and chant."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas chuckles, "I'm not, but yeah I think so." He says with a shrug. "People love people. I love women, you like both. I don't see a problem as long as everyone is happy." He says with a grin, tilting his head and grinning slightly, "And telling me you chant naked under the moon is doing nothing to diminish your hotness."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow tilts her head at him. "Seriously? You think that is hot?" She kept on moving, but slowly. "I usually get a eww, or ask me if I have sex."

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas says, "Well eww never crossed my mind..." He says with a grin, and without looking away from her coffee Tina slaps him in the back of the head and rolls her eyes. Austin barely seems to notice and smiles, "Actully, I was wondering... if you'd let me sketch you that way?""

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow stops. "As in nude?" She frowns. "If you are going to all this trouble to get me to bed, it won't work." But then she thinks about it. "If you would like to draw me in the nude, sure? I have to protest, I'm not very photogenic. I'm kinda mousy if you ask me. Buffy isn't pretty, but she would make an awesome nude." She nods.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
He blushes and shrugs a bit, "I mean I'm not saying I'm /agienst/ that idea but no... I just want to sketch you, and yes nude. Don't worry I'll be completely professional." He adds with a smile, "Sketching is completely different then photography... I'll bet you'll be surprised. And you can keep the drawing."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Not that I'm against it either, but I would prefer if you said you wanted to sleep with me, rather than taking the long way about it. Really those are two different things." Willow begins to walk again. "Sure. But not outside yet, it's too cold!"

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Austin Dallas grins slightly at that. "Fair enough, Well as long as we both know where we stand on the matter." he says amused considering. "I mean if we could get the lighting right, no reason it has to be done under actual moonli--" then he snaps his head around as though hearing a sound. His body tenses... Tina facepalms.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Huh?" Willow was listening one minute, and the next wondering what happened.

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
"Someone just screamed... " he says softly... "A woman... she's fighting someone... trying to fight them off... there are three men..." He says looking at Willow with almost a desperation in his eyes. "We have to help her."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Oooooh!" Willow wasn't used to humans walking around when she helped, but there was no real reason to stay away from there. "Where?" She racked her brains wondering what she could help her with. Normally she didn't have to watch to not kill the enemies!

Sentinel (Dallas) has posed:
Tina sighs and moves from his soulder to his back, clutching his sweat shirt in her hands and feet. Austin smiles largely and grins at Willow, a bit of a playful challenge on his lips. "This way." he says breaking out into arun towards the screams that, at the moment, only he can hear.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow isn't the best runner in the world, but as long as she can see him, she can follow him. And follow she does.
