Date of Scene: 26 February 2021
Location: Fred's Diner - Mutant Town
Synopsis: Just an impromptu meet and greet at the local diner
Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Scarlet Witch, Blackout, Multiple Man, Nightcrawler, Overlord

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
When considering the past few weeks, it is a reasonably peaceful time in Mut-

Who are we kidding? With the issues involving the cure from a few weeks back, while most have gotten back to their routines, there are stll people a bit jumpy. But people have to get back to work. And people have got to eat and some people are just crap when it comes to making food for themeselves. -

This is where Fred's Diner comes in. It is well past the time of the lunch crowd which was almost up to the normal levels. The now starting dinner crowd is a different matter. While less busy, there is still people in the diner. But, it's only taking up the individual tables. There's still plenty of space at the counter itself. -

Nick Drago is tired. And he has good reason to be. His flight from a film location came in earlier that day and the knitcapped entertainer just did NOT have the energy to go grocery shopping. Wade, who is off at a conference in California, hadn't done that task either. So he took a walk. And the walk, led him here. But, upon coming in to see the tables all taken up, he looks over to the empty counter and then to the line cook having trouble firing up the grill. He waits.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
One of those tables that is presently occupied has been taken by a redheaded woman dressed in black and red. The outfit she wears is a curious combination of old and new, too. There's a corset. Who wears those these days? Apparently, Wanda Maximoff does. A leather trenchcoat is folded in half neatly and sits on the bench beside her.

While there is no food sitting in front of her at present, a full cup of tea sits on the table in front of her. The tea must be fresh, for steam wafts up from it. Her hands wrap either side of the cup, the heat soaking into her fingers. It's not as cold outside as it has been, and a lot of the snow is gone, but it's still not what one would consider to be /warm/ yet.

As the door opens, Wanda's attention shifts that way briefly. Just long enough to note that it was someone coming in and gauge if it's someone she knows. Her eyes start to go back to her cup of tea, and then lift again as she apparently finds the man to be at least passingly familiar.

Blackout has posed:
Marcus Daniels is just another man coming in off the street/sidewalk who is dressed in the standard black of the greater New York area. More than half the city wears dark colors especially during the cooler seasons. Black long sleeved pull over over black slacks over black boots. Boring and non descript.

He steps into the narrow diner and looks for a place to sit. He doesn't really look at the people within the diner, other than for empty spaces for him to fill. He sees a bar stool that's open and moves to take a seat upon it. This places Wanda to his far right (flank) along the booths and Nick a few stools over, also to his right.

Forearms are placed against the edge of the bar and he pulls one of the small menus from the nearby. When the waitress asks for his drink order while placing the setup in front of him (including water), he tells her ' just water' and she carries on. She will be back shortly for his order.

If anyone rolls high enough they may notice that there are no seams on Marcus' clothing. It's closer to neoprene or microfiber than any other material. It's also not textured and seemingly made of two distinct pieces. The heroine would likely know the material isn't cloth and likely some exotic material. If she cared.

Multiple Man has posed:
This is Mutant Town, the gritty power filled, Toad Juice and MGH dealers on nearly every corner, bubbly and ever changing gene pool of wonder town, his town... okay, maybe not really his town, but most of the time if feels that way, cause James Arthur Madrox came here to help this town. It is one of the three places on the planet that Jamie really calls home, and when trouble comes to his home, he handles it... usually. This is no different, Jamie is here on business... plus Fred's is a good place to get a meal and central enough to work for his needs.

Technically Jamie was already here, or atleast a variety of dupes, though only the one walking in wearing the Trenchcoat over Green & Gold shirt with sort of wierd circuitry pattern look and jeans with Chucks looks like most people would expect for him. Sitting hunkered over menus are a quintet of copies in a variety of gang looks, most with piercings and hair cuts that look drastically off, one with an actual full beard and dreadlocks all dyed with streaks of crimson red. They barely even glance up as the Trenchcoated Jamie enters and meanders through, observing everyone with almost a paranoid eye. Jamie pauses to grab a menu, then continues surveying the room, making seeing who is watching him and his other selves. So many things are going on, so many factions are arising, and there is at least one life at stake, maybe more. Yeah... a serious Madrox... seems anything is possible... or is something in the air, altering the probability, making the nearly impossible suddenly insanely likely?

Nightcrawler has posed:
Food! It's a big necessity. Kurt reaches out to pull open the door of the diner before stepping inside. His glowing yellow gaze idly wanders the patrons, and he starts to make his way towards an open spot at the counter. He could probably manage to make something for himself, but... he just doesn't feel like it. The fresh air on the walk here was good. Lifting one of his three-fingered hand, he tussles his hair a bit, then lowers his hand back to his side. And his tail swishes back and forth behind him as he considers the aromas within the place. He's just another piece of weird amongst the abnormal. Not that he wouldn't have come in if the diner wasn't in Mutant Town.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As Marcus and Kurt walks in, Nick steps to the side to allow for the man to pass. But he doesn't move forward. He instead lingers near the doorway, watching the line cook struggle with getting cooktop lighted. Seems it is on the fritz again. But he's not leaving either. Instead he tugs his knit cap off allowing for lengthy hair to tumble out and takes a moment to secure it back with an elastic band.

The woman to the front looks over to Nick curiously. "Wanting a table that much, Nick?"

"Oh for cryi-" The line cook opens his mouth, breathing fire upon the cooktop. The sheer heat and brightness not something that can be ignored by those sitting at the countertop. Happy with the after effects, the line cook smiles, setting the burgers down on the surface. Getting rewarded with a high sizzle.

Nick smiles to the cashier. "I was waiting for that." The musician admits. Risk of flare-ups no longer there, he starts to walk over to the counter. Getting the feeling of being watched, eyes glance up as he does so, looking over to Wanda. The general sense that he's run into her once before starts to rear up, leaving him to wonder WHERE. Charity event? Concert? Subway? He pauses, before he adjusts his steps, walking over towards Wanda. It's going to bother him until he figures it out so might as well.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
With her tendency to wear red, Wanda stands out from the average crowd of standard black wearing city dwellers. But hey, when you like red.... When the door opens again to admit a black attired man, her eyes look to him. Notes what there is to note, and drops to her tea. Marcus' clothing material is apparently not enough to pique her interest. The tea, however, is. She lifts it and blows lightly along the surface of the liquid. It's still steaming, so almost certainly still very hot.

Jamie's clones are likely noted and thusly ignored, while the real Jamie (Will he please stand up?) gets a nod. Whether she knows him or it's simple acknowledgement of something out of the ordinary, it's hard to tell. Given that this is right in the middle of mutant town, really, nobody who comes here really surprises Wanda. But the next one to enter, blue, with a tail? That draws Wanda's attention again. "Oh, now you're interesting," she comments.

The flare up from the cooktop doesn't even bring a glance. She is very used to things being interesting whenever she's around. Gives life a twist that more often leads to fun. Nick's approach brings her eyes back to him again. She waves a hand at the empty seat across the table from her, the invitation to join obvious in the gesture. "Halloween party. You wore a cape."

Blackout has posed:
The few seconds that the waitress came back to Marcus' location, he was able to relay to her that he wanted the #8 breakfast option and then she was off again. Then suddenly he's distracted by the cook with the fire breath. Oh that's interesting. After a few moments, Marcus looks down at his cell phone which he has placed upon the counter top, faced up. No new notifications. So, he's already bored. He takes his glass of water and sips from it before putting it back down and then after slightly turning in the barstool, he begins looking around the room at all the patrons. Having not done this before, he's less distracted and more interested in what Mutant Town has to offer as far as the uncommon demographic.

First and foremost, and difficult to miss, Marcus spots Nightcrawler. While trying not to stare, it's impossible for one's gaze not to linger. Then, after a couple of seconds, he wills himself to look down the isle at the people in the booths. There's a few guys who look strangely like one another scattered about, and then there's a pretty redhead in a corset, a guy with the potential to have a man-bun, and a few other non descript people. He sort of wonders where the people with the unicorn horns are... but then again, there's a fuzzy blue guy sitting near to him. Guess that counts for something. Giving Nightcrawler another glance, Marcus pulls his eyes away and swivels back forward in the barstool and then swipes his phone to open it.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Before Nick even finishes making it over to Wanda's table, his objective is already achieved. Oh well then. Thoughts of another he's met in the diner comes to mind. "Oh. Bit of a mind reader." He jokes, giving a bit of a half smile. It might not even be a joke here. But, last time that topic was brought up he had more of a hope of privacy. "So, the Van Dyne party. That was an interesting event."

Multiple Man has posed:
Pausing to consider Wanda and Kurt, Jamie remembers his primary mission and makes his way to the booth with his copies. His whispered conversation with them is brief, just a quick comment, and then placing identical photographs in front of all of them, getting nods as each takes and pockets a photo, only the bearded one even asking a follow up question. The other Jamies stand, handing the trenchcoated Jamie their tabs to his somewhat frustrated head drop, then each exits and heads off in a different direction. The conversation between Bearded Biker Jamie and Trenchcoat Jamie takes only another minute, and then the Bearded Duplicate hands over his tab with a Lincoln and a Jefferson, getting a slight half smile from the Trenchcoat wearer.

The Bearded Jamie makes a quick remark to a waitress, getting her to blush and smile, then he too exits and rides off on a noisy hawg in a direction different than the others. The trenchcoat wearing Jamie then turns and debates his options. Something, perhaps a desire to try his luck, makes him decide to approach the Lady in Red, smiling a bit, "Are you waiting on someone, or would you mind some company? For a guy who can be crowded all by himself in a Football Stadium, I sort of dislike actually sitting alone. I know, a bit wierd." fussing with his hair to try to make it smoothed down a bit, maybe even a little self-conscious.

Nightcrawler has posed:
There's a glance towards the man who stepped aside to let him pass, and he gives a nod, his smile showing pointed teeth. "Danke," Kurt says. Then his attention shifts towards the line cook, and he tilts his head a touch to one side. And then there's fire breathing, which doesn't seem to phase him in the slightest. He grunts softly, glancing towards the man near to him and grinning at the man's comment. "Meat, fire, good, ja?" he says. His pointed ears give a bit of a flick, and one of them turns in Wanda's direction before his glowing yellow gaze follows. And he tilts his head slightly to one side before looking around himself at the others. And there are a couple of steps taken towards her table, his own interest piqued. "Interesting in what way, meine dame?" he asks, a flicker of curiosity to his voice. His tail lazily swishes back and forth behind himself. He seems to not notice being stared at for a moment, another glance being cast over the other patrons. He hadn't reached the counter, though he had come close before ending up distracted.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
"Mind reader? Perhaps. Body language, definitely." Wanda chuckles, a light, amused sound. "I'm not entirely certain I would consider that party to be 'interesting'." The man on the phone in the black two piece outfit gets a glance, a thoughtful look, and then Wanda looks away, back to Nick. Only to have her attention drawn by the Real Jamie. A warm smile appears, and she waves a hand to the side opposite her again. "Please. Sit. Being alone can be overrated." Truth. If Wanda had wanted to be alone, why would she be out in a public diner? Certainly, there are places much more secluded if she wanted to avoid company. Tea cup still lifted from when she blew on it, she now sips the still hot, but not as hot, liquid. Kurt's approach coincides with her lowering the cup back to the table and looks the mutant over. "In what way are you not interesting?"

Blackout has posed:
Scrolling through his cell phone that is placed flat on the countertop, Marcus looks through various headlines and other points of interest within the glowing screen. His stomach growls - yet unheard with the noise of the diner. The one thing that distracts him from his screen time is the sudden standing of several men. He looks around with a confused look on his face and sees the various men of similar features making a mass exodus from the diner. He swivels some to get a better look.

Then Marcus sees the bearded man cutting in front of the hippie guy vying for the redhead's attention. Now, he definitely has something more interesting to watch than looking at his phone. Marcus continues to look, albeit trying to be casual about it, in the general direction of Wanda and the two men.

But wait, there's more. The blue fuzzy guy rushes her way too. Marcus thinks he's seen this in a movie.. No wait, the Three Stooges. They would often clamber over one another when a dame was involved. Marcus smiles reflectively.

Multiple Man has posed:
As the waitress approaches, Jamie clears his throat, "Pot of Coffee please, plus oatmilk and chocolate syrup." pausing, "and a slice of your pecan pie. Please. I got the other me's tabs. So just combine them all, and charge it to my account." then looking back to Wanda, he smiles, "I'd ask how your family is, but I know that can be a sore subject. You seem to be looking well..." he pauses and glances down as his phone vibrates, receiving a text message, which his cheek flush at and he quickly flips so the screen is downward... perhaps hiding the text from Wanda.

Nightcrawler has posed:
Glowing yellow eyes flick with a soft glance over the woman and her companion, and then one of his eyebrows quirks up a touch. Then he inclines his head towards her, half bowing. "Touche, mein dame," he says softly, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips and hinting at the pointed teeth once more. "Though there are a great many things that are more interesting than I happen to be," Kurt says, a hint of amusement to his voice. He's lived with himself for all of his life so he doesn't particularly think of himself as interesting. But he recognizes why she would think so -- he's seen his reflection, he knows what other people see!

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick turns his head, looking to the trenchcoat Jamie and the Kurt that have come over to ask Wanda questions. He steps back. There's a slight sound that emits from his pocket, a low tone that slides in pitch to a higher one before fading out. There's another repetition of it before there's silence. The rocker gives a sigh as he turns, pulling the phone out of his pocket, unlocking the screen to see the 'all hands on deck' message from Buffy. "...I have to go."

He gives Wanda a nod, sliding the phone back into his pocket. "Nice to meet you- again."

He turns, giving an apologetic look to the cashier. "Work emergency." He gives to the questioning look, tugging on the knitcap again.

As he exits the diner, he makes a brisk turn down an alley, disappearing into the shadows.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Sometimes, being the center of attention can be a pain. Sometimes, it might be just what a person needs. Today, Wanda is in a good mood and she gives every appearance of enjoying the company. "Family is pretty okay, for the moment. Doing their thing." Not a sore subject at this particular instance. The vibrating phone, and whatever message it contains, are completely ignored by Wanda. No order of food arrives for her, so perhaps she's merely enjoying tea. Or she already ate and hasn't decided to leave yet. The touche is met with a grin and a nod. "Perhaps," she says to Kurt. "Perhaps not. As it is said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder." As Nick gets a message as well, she ignores it just as she had Jamie's. "Nice to meet you again as well. Do take care."

Blackout has posed:
Marcus discerns that the rushing of the redhead was not by strangers, but a collection of guys that she seemingly knows. Or is at least familiar with since she didn't glare at them as if they had a disease - or three. Yet, Marcus spots the hippie as he backs away. Marcus assesses that the guy was beyond his depth and suddenly needed to go. Marcus has been there, done that. Some women have way too much going on. And looking at the blue and bearded guys.. yep.

Marcus then decides to turn back in his chair to see the waitress placing two plates in front of him. He thanks her quietly and will begin with the meal prep. Salting, buttering, pouring, smearing, cutting, spreading, peppering, dashing, sprinkling, and then finally after it's all seemingly mixed together, tasting. Marcus is happy with the food and begins to actually eat.

Multiple Man has posed:
Pulling a pile of the same photos he gave his duplicates out, Jamie sets them aside, and nods, "Good to hear. I'm glad, mostly. Pretty sure you know what kind of pain your brother can be, but while he and I clash, I still don't even wish him pain, maybe a bit of humiliation and hubris, bit not pain. And Lorna is one of the strongest, bravest, smartest, and without getting crass, has one of the most Magnetic personalities of anyone I've ever known. Not that you're not very Charming, yourself." smiling a bit. Yeah, even when he is serious, there is a sense of humor and wit to him. He slides over a bit, just in case Kurt wants to sit, then says to Wanda, "So, you moving to Mutant Town, visiting someone, or just passing through?" he does smile at Nightcrawler, "No need to sit on the shelf..."

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller comes walking into the dinner, and offers a wave to the waitress and cook. It seems he is a semi regular here, and heads towards the counter, preferable one of the end stools for more room. He nods, when asked if he wants the normal to drink and a cola is set down about he same time he has his seat.

Nightcrawler has posed:
Lightly, his tail swishes in a sinuous movement at his back, and there's a nod given towards Nick. "I hope all is well," he offers, sincerely. Then his attention returns to the woman at the table. "Ja, so it is said. Though I am quite certain that your beauty is far greater than mine own, mein dame," he says, his yellow eyes bright. "It has been a while, ja? All has been well for you, I trust?" he asks. Kurt tilts his head slightly to one side, his yellow gaze turning towards Wanda's companion to study him for a moment, and he grins, pointy teeth showing. "You should save that one for the Yuletide, ya?" he suggests, his eyes a bit brighter. He gets it and he finds amusement in it himself. "Danke," he adds with a nod. Then he steps over to sit next to Wanda -- she's prettier than Jamie is!

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff does indeed seem to be familiar with those at her table, though one of those has now departed. Marcus is, for the moment, not given much attention. He has food, and Wanda has company. She chuckles and nods. "Of course I do. He can be arrogant and self centered, and cheat to get what he wants, but he has a good heart." Whatever the photos are, Wanda ignores them, even after they're set aside. "Just passing through. The place doesn't appear the same as the last time I was through here. What's going on?" She might not be entirely current with goings on! The entrance of another brings a glance that lingers for a moment and then moves back to those at her table. To Kurt, she smiles. "Flattery can sometimes get you places," she says. "I have been well enough. And yourself?" She scoots over a little bit to make room for Kurt as he sits down. The tea goes with her, of course, and is lifted and sipped. She looks amused.

Blackout has posed:
Marcus eats for a bit longer before he's interrupted by a notification on his phone. He glances over, frowns and then picks up the phone and slides it into his left sleeve. He pulls out a single bill from his right front pocket and sits it on the counter, far side of his plate nearest where the waitress will pass. He waves to her, points to the bill and then offers a wave goodbye. Marcus turns on the stool, stands and moves to the door. He doesn't even bother to glance around the diner and he leaves just as he came in. Except. When he passes through the door, if one were to look outside for his departure, he is nowhere to be seen.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller looks over toward those at the table. The lady does seem familiar and the blue fellow while not familiar is not to unusual for those around here. He will offer a nod in greeting to them. As the waitress comes over, he orders two double bacon cheeseburgers with the works, an order of fries and onion rings." At a little teasing he says "Well, if ya did not have such good food." He jokes back.

Multiple Man has posed:
Taking his order, Jamie hands the waitress a few photos, "If you or any of the staff see this kid, can you please call me? Contact info is on the back. His parents are worried. He ran away, and they believe he may have fallen in with one of the gangs." a look of concern crossing Jamie's face, "I'm helping out the investigator the parents hired, cause I've known others that got mislead that way... some, some couldn't be saved before it was too late." his gaze lowering in shame. He looks to Kurt and Wanda, "I'm a bit out of my element. I sort of was lucky to not really face the mutant hatred for nearly two decades of my life despite being one of the rare ones that had power active at or just after my birth. Any advice on what to say to a kid like that? His parents love him, but someone got it into his head that his having powers means his parents won't love him or want him around. I'm not even really sure where to start that conversation if I find him."

Nightcrawler has posed:
"A good heart is what matters," Kurt says, giving a nod and looking to Wanda as she speaks about her brother. "Things change. Time changes things," he muses, his tone thoughtful. He doesn't go into details, not here and not just yet. Then he raises an eyebrow slightly, tilting his head a touch to one side. "Good to know, ja. What places might it get me to, I wonder, mmm?" he asks, quirking a grin that shows his pointed teeth. "I have also been well," he says, giving a nod to her. Lifting one of his hands, he tussles his hair a bit, and his tail moves to brush some of Wanda's hair back from her face. "Something amuses you?" he asks, curious.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff no longer glances to the door when it opens, her attention is on those at her table. She opens her mouth to say something when the photos come out. Her mouth closes again and she reaches a single finger to snag the corner of one, pulling it closer so that she can look at it. She is silent for a time. Then there is a soft breath. She looks up at Jamie. "You tell him the truth. That is all you can do. Tell him the truth and let him decide." She pauses, expression thoughtful for a moment. "But, make sure it is the truth and the parents really do love him and want him around. Because if they don't, and he goes back, that will lead to a far worse situation. If it is the truth, and you still don't know where to start the conversation, call me. I will help." Clearly, she has a soft spot for young ones. She looks from the pictures over to Kurt. The amusement had faded, but returns at least a little bit now. "Many things amuse me," she says, reaching up a hand to catch that tail before it lands. "Ah ah. Behave." Her pocket makes a sound, and she digs into the other. "That is my cue, gentlemen. I must bid you goodbye." Money is pulled out and laid on the table. Wanda takes a moment to glance to Jamie. "Call me." She takes a moment to concentrate, and a rest mist envelops her. When it clears, she's gone.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller will look over as there is movement with the woman being there and not. Hey it is the town for it "Neat trick." He says softly under his breath. About then the first of his food is brought over and he thanks the waitress, asking how her car has been doing, and telling her to bring it back by the shop if it needs any more work.

Multiple Man has posed:
Nodding, Jamie slowly eats his pie and sips some coffee, "Wagner. Since I'm not sending any dupes to the school for a few days. Would you mind taking some photos with you, handing them to the faculty, even the other mes there, fill them in? Joey Phillips, First Generation Mutant, early to mid teens, likely bullied for his abilities, ran away, parents paying the best detective to find him... talking about the guy that consulted me, not me, I know I'm far from the best... they are worried and want him to come home. I was thinking of asking Scott and Jean to talk to the parents, but until he is located, I didn't want to focus on that. I've got Mutant Town Covered, but he may have gone elsewhere, even to Erik... or worse..." he sips the coffee, once more sullen, less trying to act upbeat... maybe Wanda's presence did have some effect on him, just not the one most would expect.

Nightcrawler has posed:
There's a glance given towards the photos then, and Kurt gives a small nod. "Ja, you tell him the truth. It is the best option. It... can be easy to plant the seeds of hate. Especially in a young person who is going through many changes, whose mind is more vulnerable towards believing such things," he says in a concerned tone. People sometimes make presumptions, and those presumptions can lead to hate as well. Life is sometimes full of challenges. "Perhaps have his parents record a message for him, so that if you find him then you can play the message for him, ja?" he suggests, raising an eyebrow slightly. He tilts his head to one side, his attention turning to Wanda, and he grins at her. "I -always- behave," he says, grinning again, his pointed teeth showing. He doesn't push, with his tail, though he does lightly tap it against her hand. And then she... bamfs in her own way. So unfair! But she left her trench coat behind, so... he scoots along the bench closer to it and reaches out a hand to tug it closer. "I will needs must return this for her," he says quietly. His attention turns to Jamie, and he tilts his head to one side before he gives a nod. "Ja, I can do this. There are many places that he may have gone, alas. I hope he is found, safe and sound."

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller will wstch the two a bit more in one of the reflective surface, but is more interested in his food for now. He does not try to listen in, would not be polite, and the waitress tells Joe she does have a friend who needs some work done on her car. The big man pulls a card out and hand it to the waitress. "Send her over, and tell her to tell Mercy, she is a friend of yours."
