Pixie has posed:
It's a lazy Friday evening, and there are not many people hanging out in the library on a Friday night. However, Megan needs to work on an upcoming term paper for her Comparative Lit class, which she's been putting off a lot for various reasons. Like, skipping homework for a last minute parity or date or..,You know, heroics.

Now of course, she roams the library, trying to find useful books on the Iliad, which wasn't one of her favourite stories. to begin with. "Ugggggh, dammmit, I wish I could pay some one to write papers for me..." she grumbles.

SpyderByte has posed:
In walks Jeremy, who for the last few weeks has been mostly a ghost. He is dressed in his gothic apparel, head to toe in black. His hair has grown thicker and longer, now dangling at the tops of his shoulders and painted black with a hint of red streaks here and there. As he slugs his way in, he settles down at a table and pulls out his laptop.

Once he flips the lid open, it comes to life and he just stares at it as screen after screen whips around with a twitch of an eye. From there, a paper begins to be written in front of him, line after line of text scrawling swiftly. Sliding his chin into his hand, he gives a bit of a half-over slump as his posture becomes boneless.

He looks tired.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn groans as she stares up at the book case, pulling out a bunch of boring books and groaning. "Uggggggh, I soooo dun wanna be doing this in a Friday night, but I dun wanna fail that class either." wuth a sigh, she grabs a towering pile of books and peers around for a seat. Oh heeey there's Jeremy. Megan smiles, getting a wicked idea.

"Oh hey there, Jer, how you been?" she attempts to wave to him with a free hand but nearly drops her pile of books. "Gah!" she wobbles and wobbles, barely regaining her balance of the book tower, tumbling them onto the table opposite him.

The long hair is noted, and the tired look. "Oh. Heey, are you okay?"

SpyderByte has posed:
Glancing upwards at the girl that flumps down across from him, Jeremy blows some long bangs away from his face. He has a lip ring now on his bottom lip, tucked at the corner of his mouth. A simple silver hoop. He lets out a slow breath, shoulders lightly shrugging upwards before he gives a glance to his phone.

<< Fine. Just working on papers for Doctor McCoy. You? >>

There isn't much 'life' to his digital voice now these days. It's defaulted back to the old Siri. A soft woman's voice.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn arches a brow, "Oh....Are you sure? Maybe you should take a break...Heey, want me to make you a hot chocolate later? I'm really good at making those.." still, she can't help but notice the flat tone of his messages, and tilts her head sympathetically. Ohhhh is this about...What she saw in the rec room with....And....?

"You know, I haven't seen you around much, and I know we don't talk much but...Have you talked to, uh, Shannon, lately?"

SpyderByte has posed:
Giving a shake of his head, Jeremy scrunches his face up a bit, then turns his attention back to his computer.

<< I have not, no. Just been busy. Don't have time to socialize now. It's fine. >>

He shifts uncomfortably for a moment, pressing his lips together tightly as the words continue to scrawl along the screen, though not as quick and has much more 'backspacing' than he normally would.

<< Don't worry about me. I don't need chocolate. How are you doing? You are having trouble with class? >>

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn frowns and shakes her head, she can be stubborn and downright tactless and blunt at times. Which can be a good thing but sometimes it can be bad too. "Awe, Cmon Jer, you're still a kid, and even if you're super smart and helping Dr McCoy with some totally super secret high level complicated medical genetic...Thingy, doesnt mean you should sacrifice a social life for it.."

She hesitates, for just a second before continuing. "Besides, I'd get if you'd be feeling pretty down...I mean, maybe I dunno whatever was between you and Shannon but you always seemed pretty close..." really, Megan should just mind her own business. She should really just shut up but she is concerned. And it's hard not to notice...Things.

"Soooo if there's something bothering you, I'd be happy to talk. you know, just get it off your chest?" as for Megan's own issues, well, she'll get to that in a bit.

SpyderByte has posed:
There is a light hiss from the throat of Jeremy that comes out as a sandy rasp. He tilts his head over towards her with narrowed eyes from behind the curtain of black hair. He reaches up and slides a finger through the loop on his choker around his throat, giving it a slight tug on it as he can feel his breath catch. Painful.

<< You have your team, I have mine. I can't talk about what I do. I'm under NDA. >>

He lowers the laptop lid a bit, dragging it closer to him protectively.

<< I don't need a social life. I don't want one. I have my work. This is all I need. My work keeps me busy. It makes me -- me. >>

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn peers intently at him then, quite mindful of the reaction, no matter how subtle, she got out of him. Aha. So that's it. She was right. Maybe. But how to approach it, hmmm...Megan frowns a bit, chewing on the tip of her sparkly rainbow unicorn pen. Hmmm....

"Ooh, sounds top secret.Okay, fair enough.." she shrugs, biting her lip, and sighs. "Ooh. Okay, if you say so...Hmm..." Megan sighs a bit as she looks down at her pile of books and groans.

"Geee I wish I was as smart as you, heck, I'd even pay you to write my term paper for me." she giggles a bit at that. "Or heck, even help me write it. Ugh, trying to find the symbolism in the Iliad is such a paaain. I mean, why'd they have to write it in such confusing language? And why's it sooo darned long? And why did I even take this course? I wanna be an actress, but I guess literature is important for that." she sighs.

SpyderByte has posed:
There is a soft sigh from Jeremy, followed by another twitch of his eye.

Megan's phone will ping, giving her a number of sites that are directly linked to her paper. He pulled the project from her course, researched it, then consolidated it with a few thoughts and tugs at the Internet.

<< It's only as important as you want it to be. I make everything I research .. important. I make it my mission to understand why and what it is I am doing. Homework should be an adventure. >>

He closes his lid to his laptop all the way, then folds his hands over the top of them. He has some faint scarring along his fingers and wrists. Fresh ones. His nails are chewed down with cracked black paint upon them.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks at her phone. Ohhh hmm, here's some good stuff she didn't even think of, but. "Wait what, homework is an adventure!?" she laughs a bit at that, shaking her head, "How can you say that? Homework is a means to an end! For me it's just a temporary thing to get you a job, to freedom and an exciting life. I hate homework with a passion!"

Megan nods, "but thanks did these, guess I can't convince you to do it for me but...." and then she sees the cuts and her eyes widen. "Whaaa?! Jeremy, what happened to your wrists!?" she looks very concerned now..

SpyderByte has posed:
<< It's the best way to look at homework. Like a game. Each assignment is a new level. >>

Jeremy's Siri voice comes through his phone. When she calls out the scars, he gives a few tugs on the long sleeves of his shirt, tugging them over.

<< Working in autoshop. Putting in an engine is really hard. >>

That is pretty true. They are a real challenge and he is not really built for hard labor.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smirks, "Riiiight, levels in a game huh? Except there's no prize at the end." she sighs. Well...Not exactly how Megs sees things but..The explanation if an auto shop thing seems kinda legit but...She shrugs.

"Hmm okay, if you say so..." and then she smiles as she gets an idea, "Heey, you know, a bunch of us are heading to Club evo for a spring show, and a general celebration fir those who are recovering from the whole depowerimg thing, why dint you come with us? Heey I can introduce you to some of my friends, and we can eat good food, listen to music and dance, it'll be fun!"

Get him out of his shell a bit too maybe.

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I will be busy with work. >>

Jeremy says as he gives a slight shrug of his shoulders.

<< I have decided to graduate early so that I won't have to continue out the rest of the trivials of high school. I have accomplished all of my core curriculum and I am not focusing on my electives. I don't dance. I don't like loud noises. I don't like lots of people. I am sure you will all have fun. >>

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks in surprise, wondering how he and Shannon ever became close.And..She can't really recall if he ever really socialized much with anyone else, except maybe Betsy or Hank, or was that professional or therapeutic stuff?

"Awwwwe Cmon! I'm sure you're already super ahead in every class as is! Even super smart brainiacs need a break once in a while from their studies! I mean, Cmon, you're a human, well, okay, mutant but, were hardwired to be social creatures, and it's true the old 'all work and no play..'

She smiles, "Besides, you could always bring your homework with you, and we could just get a small corner booth with maybe five people at the most. No pressure, just good food and nice music while you study, better than being walled up a tiny, quiet cubicle at least right?"

SpyderByte has posed:
<< I'm not like you. I am a machine. I am programmed to do work. I just want to do work. Okay? >>

Jeremy looks uncomfortable and in distress as he rises up from the table, scooping his laptop into his thick level three bag. He zips it up, then locks it.

<< I don't want to go to a party and pretend to care when all I would do is hug the darkest corner and wish I was back at home. I need to do work now. I have analytics I need to hand over to Miss Grey and Mister Logan. >>

He shoulders his bag, giving a glance towards the other girl's phone.

<< You should be able to write your paper with the cheat sheets I gave you. >>

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn bliiiiinks slowly, knowing she clearly pushed a couple of buttons there. "Ohh nooo....I mean.." she swallows, "I guess you don't have to come, I just thought it would do you some good to get you out of your shell but..If your uncomfortable with it..."

She sighs, shoulders slumping, clearly deflated, maybe even caught off guard a bit by his rather curt response. "U-ummm, yeah, sure...Thanks Jer.." she watches him for a few moments longer in silence, pouting softly, but doesn't try to stop him.

"You know, you're really not a machine and don't anyone anything...Take care Jeremy, I hope you feel better soon..." he's given a small, weak smile before she slumps her shoulders and tries to focus on her work.

"Well, I tried.." Megan murmurs softly to herself.
