Cast of Characters: Nightingale, Cyclops, Nightcrawler

Nightingale has posed:
The past days had brought an interesting issue nearly to the school's doorstep. It was one that had brought some smiles, some joy--but also a fair bit of confusion on how best to handle the situation. Thankfully, Shannon was not alone in her wonderings, for who else had tracked her down but the Amazing Nightcrawler? En route to the teacher's lounge, in her gold and brown leggings, red tunic sweater, and floofy Old English Sheepdog slippers, she's walking alongside Kurt, running her fingers through her hair.

"I've tried leaving some messages with a couple of the other teachers like we were talking about," she muses. "No answer yet, but they could be swamped with class stuff, too. I hope maybe Mr. Rasputin is able to answer, or possibly Logan. Here's hoping."

Cyclops has posed:
The door open to reveal Scott Summers as he makes his way inside, dressed in a pair of khakis and a cardigan. He reaches under it to tug out his tie, loosening it up now that his day is over. He opens up the freezer to take out a microwave meal, then heads over to the small appliance to cook it, followed by withdrawing his tablet from his brief case to go over the day's notes.

As his eyes stare at the screen from behind his red glasses, he presses his lilps together in a thin line of focus and concentration as he scrolls with a singer finger, tapping at times to save or bookmark something interesting. At times he'll glance to his phone, as if expectantly waiting for a message.

Nightcrawler has posed:
It was a curious sort of thing, in some aspects. Kurt had come upon the issue in question by accident. Or maybe not so much by accident as it was by proxy -- the Bamfs. The little imps were forever scrounging things from all manner of places. Except their scrounging found something different in the forest, this time. He walks along with Shannon, himself bare-footed, dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans and a long sleeved grey shirt. His tail swishes behind him as he listens to her words, and he gives a nod. "It could be that they are occupied with other thngs, ja. For classes, or perhaps extra-curricular things. It is hard to know for certain. They will reply when they are available to, I'm sure, mein dame," he says, his glowing yellow gaze turning to her as he smiles reassuringly.

As Scott enters the teacher's lounge, Kurt looks towards the other man a moment, then towards Shannon. And he grins, pointed teeth on display. "Ah, you see? It would seem that we have been provided opportunity, ja?" Then he BAMF's from beside her to pop into the lounge, reaching for the door to open it and hold it open for her to be able to enter whilst his gaze is upon the other man. "There is a thing which we wish to speak with you about, Scott. If you have a few minutes, ja?"

Nightingale has posed:
The mini-bamf's still, on occasion, managed to startle Shannon, or get a bit of a raised eyebrow from her. Thankfully, this was not one of those times. The young woman pokes her head through the door and smiles lightly. "Mr. Summers?" she calls into the room. "Pleaes... we're awfully sorry to disturb you, but we're hoping you might have a moment. There's... a mildly confusing matter we could use some insight on."

Cyclops has posed:
Tilting his head upwards slowly at the sound of approaching voices, Scott looks from Shannon to Kurt, lifting his brows upwards as he regards his teammate. He taps the side of the table to turn the screen off, then folds his hands in front of him as he shifts in his seat.

"It's no problem. What's going on?" His attention is mostly on the blue furred elf with the long tail. He leans back into his chair and straightens up visibly, like a stiff board.

Nightcrawler has posed:
Thankfully, the mini-Bamfs are off doing one of the many things that they usually tend to do. Which is likely pilfering electronics, since that seems to be a thing. Kurt gives a nod to Shannon's words, and he keeps a hand upon the door to hold it propped for her yet. He lifts one of his shoulders in a slight shrug when Scott looks to him, a smile tugging the corners of his lips. "I felt it was best that you should be advised. And Jean as well," he says, a thoughtful note to his words. His tail swishes in what might be considered a lazy and sinuous sort of manner. "It would seem that there are two camps in the forest beyond the wall. Each with one man who camps at it. I have met one of them, but not the other," Kurt says, tilting his head to one side. "Shannon told me of the second man," he adds.

Nightingale has posed:
"I've actually met both gentlemen," Shannon chimes in, slipping through the door. "The first one was around the end of January, prior to the creation of the antidote to the Cure. His name's Xiang Zhao. Comes across as very kind, calm, level-headed, and if anything has turned rather protective of me. Both of them have. Don't ask me why or how, because I have no clue." There's a slight eyeroll from the girl, but her smile is more good-natured than anything else. "Bushwick and Apple Park down in Salem Center seemed to be his main haunts, as I encountered him in both locations on different occasions. On one of them, he left his musical instrument behind by mistake, and I took it with me rather than see it be stolen or destroyed. Given my... propensity to meet new people, it seems likely the chance to return the instrument will present itself sooner or later."

Now, Shannon really -does- purse her lips, her expression perhaps a touch more... grim. "The second gentleman, I really do hope that Pixie and Mr. Proudstar have touched base with you about, because the circumstances of the initial meeting were... well, less than ideal, and both of them were present. This was a few days after Valentine's Day. Turns out his name's Vitali, and I'm pretty glad I've started picking up some Russian from Mr. Rasputin. His English was understandable, but the knowledge helped, as I'm guessing that to be his mother tongue. He's a healer, somewhat similar to me, though I'm not certain if he's mutant or not. He works with water to accomplish his healing."

Shannon scratches the back of her head. "Next time I ran into him was a couple days later. I was out on my morning run and came across Vitali's camp. Zhao was there as well. Had a pleasant talk with them both, with zero mention made of the school."

She crosses her arms a bit, flicking her wings behind her. "I didn't come straight home after that, as I did not wish to lead either of them to the school. The campsite is fairly close by. A little tricky but I did manage to spot it from the air, flying a wide sweep around the area. Wound up with another pleasant talk, left a bit of tea with Vitali, and haven't been back since. I've also curtailed my morning runs for the time being, just in case."

Cyclops has posed:
"So there are two homeless people sleeping in campsites near the property but not on the property?" Scott picks up his tablet and taps the side of it again. He pulls forth some of his security measures, which appear to be a topography, then pinch and zooms in.

"If they are not on our property and not causing an issue, I'm not sure why this is a situation. Feel free to call the county and have someone pick them up and take them to a hostel or a shelter where they can get the proper care needed."

He taps along the screen again a few times, looking as if something else is weighing on his mind. His brow wrinkles in thought, then dismisses the thought away. "Think you can handle that, Kurt?"

Nightcrawler has posed:
Once Shannon has entered the lounge, he releases the door and flicks his tail to nudge it closed and latched. All the better to prevent voices from carrying along down the hall to ears that are not necessarily meant to hear the conversation being had. "Xiang Zhao is the one that I have met as well. He is as Shannon has said. He extended hospitality to me, invited me into his camp and willingly shared his food with me. He seems quite courteous," Kurt says, giving a nod. And for someone to simply accept him, with his particular appearance, is a noteworthy thing. He's quiet whilst he listens to Shannon speak of Vitali, since he's the one that Kurt hasn't met as of yet. He tilts his head a touch to one side at Scott's words, then gives a nod. "Ja, they are near to but not on the property. Zhao mentioned to me that he came across the wall. He mentioned he could sense there was power in it, and I suggested to him that it was perhaps best he not prod such a thing, which he agreed to. He is... homeless in the sense of not having a home, but... I would not consider him homeless in the ways of those who you find sleeping on the park benches under newspapers, ja?" he suggests, his brow furrowing a touch. His glowing yellow gaze turns briefly to Shannon, then down to the tablet that Scott holds, and he tilts his head a touch to one side. "There is other trouble?"

Nightingale has posed:
"I actually did attempt to suggest a shelter to Zhao on first meeting," Shannon replied. "Seemed to prefer doing without. Glad for your advice, though. Thank you very much." Though her smile is cordial, she glances between Kurt and Scott, she takes a step back, eyeing the door. "If there's something else, should I step out?"

Cyclops has posed:
There is a pinching of the brows now as Scott hears that one of them may have powers that can detect the barrier. A slow, withering sigh spills past his lips. "See if you can get them to leave on their own merit. If not, I will make a call and see if we can get them set up with some beds in Mutant Town. At least that way if they are of the supernatural type, they will fit in easier. Are they both just wandering people? There is no other goals either of them may have?"

"I'm not comfortable at all with them being so close to the school, or being able to detect our magical barrier that is supposed to repell people from coming into our school uninvited. Being that they are not on our property and they are not .. tampering with anything .. there is not much legal recourse we can take."

Nightcrawler has posed:
There's a nod given to Shannon at her words about the shelter, as she'd mentioned such a thing to him as well. And it had added to his own impression about the man that he'd met. "I did not speak with him of his goals or intentions when I visited his camp. I will speak with him again and see if I might learn something more. Perhaps Shannon and I can find a better spot for them to camp and suggest that they move to the new location. Better forage or hunting, perhaps," Kurt muses, his tone thoughtful. There are many reasons that don't involve mentioning the school that could be used to perhaps sway the men to move, it's a matter of finding what will work. "I would prefer to avoid legal recourse, if it is possible. It would be better for the school, and better for them, I would think. The wall did repel him," he adds, lifting one of his hands to tussle his hair a bit, thinking.

Nightingale has posed:
"Now you understand why we were asking your advice, Mr. Summers. You're having a lot of the same thoughts we are." Shannon scratches the back of her head and shrugs a little. "This is where my lack of experience can possibly be a detriment. I mean, so far they seem to be just wanderers, and I haven't seen any hint of ill intent. In point of fact, both gentlemen have taken a rather protective stance towards me. Zhao did seem to have overextended himself at one point, so he does have his limits. He also seemed to have enough knowledge to set up protective wards in the vicinity of Vitali'S camp." She He did also mention being able to send messages to people known to him on the same sort of paper he used to create the wards. Vitali himself has an eagle companion who is of help to him, and has his healing gifts. He's actually gone so far as to encourage the eagle... Soraya, he called her... to listen for my call, if I should need to relay a message to him. None of that seems aggressive, and neither of them asked questions about where I came from. Right now, things are calm, and it would be nice to see them stay that way."

Sighing a little, she runs her fingers through her hair. "Point is, though, there's still a whole lot I have to learn, and a lot I may not have enough experience to handle on my own. I was hoping one of the teachers here would be willing to meet them so they could sort of get a bead on things, too. The connection to Russian made me think of Mr. Rasputin right away."

Cyclops has posed:
"It's fine. Kurt, report back to me on what you find. Maybe take Illyana with you as well to deal with the .. magic user. Just in case. She has the experience in this type of scenarioes." Scott pushes himself up to his feet, plucking up his tablet again, then heads over to the microwave to open it and take out his meat. He places it on top of the box it came with so not to burn his hands as he heads for the door.

"Thank you for the update. I appreciate it. Let me know if I need to get involved and speak with them. If we need to get Jean or Emma involved to .. make them forget about this place, that is an option as well. The school's safety is more important than their comfort."

With a tip of his head in their direction, he steps out into the hallway, tucking his tablet under his arm as he balances the meal in one hand.
