LexHub: Meltdown
Date of Scene: 04 March 2021
Location: Project LexHub secret manufacturing site
Synopsis: The industrial site building the engineering section of the LexHub space station has an industrial accident with dozens of injuries. Superman, She-Hulk, and Scarlet Witch arrive on the scene to support relief efforts... and confront the man in the green armor defending LexCorp property.
Cast of Characters: Lex Luthor, Kid, Superman, Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk

Lex Luthor has posed:
Hamstead. Home to industrial sites for numerous large corporations, including LexCorp. It's a busy place even in the dead of night from the sheer amount of capacity producing here.

It's a normal night for Metropolis. Industry churns away...

*KABOOM*

One of the major LexCorp complexes on the outskirts has a gigantic flare of blue and red flame that mushrooms up from the center, with metallic and ceramic debris flying from the explosion.... and the fire just... keeps going. Within seconds, secondary explosions race along the sides of the buildings as utilities that were unprepared for the enormous fire get cooked off from the heat, and soon it's just a cascade of destruction as smaller detonations crumble the building. A few dozen people are already escaping into the parking lot as the fires light up the night, but there are hundreds more still inside... with no sign of the disaster slowing down.

Kid has posed:
Was more creeping like a creep. Specifically pirating the dumpsters for potential parts to be used in building his own mechanations. But than he hears the explosions and pops his head out of a dumpster of computers...only to see a building explode, his eyes wide. And than more explosion...racing

CRAP!&r&rHe slams the dumpster door shut. No matter which way you look at it, being inside a giant suit of metal is better than taking an explosion head on. And indeed the dumpster he was in was in the path, being sent wheeling away from the exploding building. Jua crawls out as he watches the building burn. He can already feel the panic from inside. He really should just leave...but something kept him from leaving. There was only one path to take...in

Before he does, some folks saw him - well an illusion of a human him, crawling out the dumpster. One happened to be a security guard which he promptly grab the head of and drained of his mind - just enough to knock him out...and more importantly give him access to the layout of any buildings the guard worked in and access codes to rooms, and all that kind of stuff.

And with that...into the building Jua goes, after tossesing the man over a very startled couple who were watching the building burn.

Superman has posed:
It was a quiet moment.

Superman was just outside earth's atmosphere, having just solved a problem that had arose in China: the skytower decided it wanted to fall over, which threatened countless lives considering how massive the thing is. After handling that situation, Supes decided to head upwards and listen for trouble. It was quiet at first, before he expanded his hearing and let the sounds of earth come in.

Children laughing, cars honking, people chatting over a nice fire.

Then comes the sounds of the explosion and the flare of heat, with Superman's eyes shifting that direction. Suddenly, as if shoved by some unseen force, the man of steel projects himself through space until he breaches earth's atmosphere once more, swiftly shattering the sound barrier as he flies with haste. Granted, he's not fast enough to -stop- the detonations from occuring, but he is swift enough to catch two people who thoughtit was their best choice to jump, moving like a red and blue blur.

"I've got you. please keep away from the fires." Superman advises as he deposits them safely on the ground. Though this seems to be more than a simple chemical fire. He stays in the sky though, intending to use his cold breath to try and extinguish at least some of the intense flames.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff was.. not here. And then there was.. something. Wherever she had been, her brow is furrowed when she arrives /here/. Her arrival is without much in the way of audible fanfare, but the visual is a little different. It's as though a human sized tongue of scarlet fire appears. Did the street catch on fire in addition to the building? But no. The scarlet fire fades, leaving behind a woman clad in red and black.

There Wanda pauses, facing that exploding building from far enough to not be right in the explosions' radius, but close enough it can't possibly be comfortable. Her brow is still furrowed as she looks at the building. Her eyes slide down to take in the small number of people fleeing. The furrow deepens.

Scarlet balls of fire start to form in her hands just as her eyes start to glow the same color. Small at first, those two bits of scarlet fire. Soon they seem to engulf her hands. She walks forward, toward the building. Then into the building, keeping the fire away from her by sheer force of will and a little judicious use of Chaos magic. She's looking for survivors, anybody she can get outside.

She-Hulk has posed:
Patents have been a matter of issue as of late, Stark patents, Japanese Mech Designers with competing Patent Claims, a Kid in San Francisco with a Patent on a Titanium Endoskeleton with Inflatable Soft Polymer outerskin Personal Healthcare Assistant Automaton which, and now various patents for robotic manufacturing units in Hamstead that might seriously change the business as well as threaten some industrialists businesses. Like Heinz and the McDonalds' brothers around a century or so ago, some geniuses may be ready to change how business make things...

This all means that Jennifer Walters is close enough to feel the first blast wave, and while she had been keeping herself low profile in her more cutely caucasoid look, the explosions encourage her to almost instantaneously transform, her street clothes shredding to reveal the unstable molecule tanksuit underneath. She leaps up onto a building to get a better view, taking a cue form Spider-Man to stash her briefcase in a place near impossible for most people to get without special equipment or powers, then she gets a running start and hurtles through the air, clearing the distances to the exploding building(s) in a couple of light leaps, only the slightest footprint left behind to reveal she had used a building as a stepping stone on her way.

The heat is intense, but as She-Hulk, Jenn is more than capable of withstanding it, and able to hold her breath for hours means she can stride directly into the blaze without fear of inhaling anything toxic. Her main goals are to make sure everyone gets out safely, cautiously clear anything that will impede people fleeing, reduce or stop the spread, and a then worry about extinguishing the main blaze and deducing the cause... lives are more important than property damage and finding who or what is at fault.

Lex Luthor has posed:
It's a good thing Superman was starting to do damage control, because he manages to keep a few more explosions from doing serious damage to the superstructure, keeping more of the building from collapsing...

Of course, there was already plenty of damage done, and both Wanda and Jennifer both get first hand account of that damage as roofs, ceilings, and walls collapse from the sudden lack of support, even as blast doors for extreme situations start to clamp down on storage and lab areas. Clearly, this was far more damage than the damage control systems were intended to handle, but this is a LexCorp site, and the technology of LexCorp is bleeding edge, especially in the safety department.

Unfortunately, it isn't nearly enough for the sheer disaster that Wanda starts to see, still she's starting to see pockets of survivors who got caught in the initial lockdown.... and Jennifer? Going in from the top means she has a center row seat into the /massive/ hole that leads down into the complex... reveals there's a large underground complex underneath the site itself, and the fire itself is coming from down there. Specifically, some sort of containment unit with a large hole in it's side.

Kid has posed:
Now inside the building, Jua uses his psionic senses to begin a more seeker style search for people locked inside. He keeps in mind the path he is taking, doing his bes to avoid intense areas of flame as the smoke was building up. His fur covered arm over his mouth. As he senses folks behind doors, he will use whatever access codes he got from the mind of the security officer to open it. He doesn't really stay put though, simply giving a psychic pulse of directions to the people he finds. Likewise he would use his great strength to bust down more ordinary doors, all to free of a path. The sheer size of this fire did bring about questions of where the sprinkler system was, but he couldn't concentrate on that now. His path and search for people took him deeper into the building. Time was of the essence.

Superman has posed:
Superman was going to go help the people inside the building, but he notices that there are other heroes and good-willed individuals to dothat job. So, Superman remains on flame duty and stragglers who put themselves in danger. While he blows even harder, turning surfaces to frost and ice surfaces. The more explosions that happen, the more people are going to be put in harms way.

Of course, he also focuses on people on the ledges and barely surviving the fumes. The flies down, lifting off obstacles and difficulties that keep them there, before flying them off. Superman is quite good at multi-tasking thanks to his powerset allowing him to do so, but otherwise keeps his firm attention on handling the flames and making sure they have no more chances to spread.

Thus does he keep using his Super Breath (cold version) to try and keep the flames down. This will let him know if there's something (or someone) fuelling the flames to keep raging or if it really was just an accident and he can focus his attentions there.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
As Wanda Maximoff sees that first bit of ceiling start to collapse toward her, she casually waves her right hand. Scarlet fire impacts it, brushing it aside with no more effort than it would take to brush aside cobwebs. Subsequent pieces of the structure falling receive the same treatment. Anywhere she encounters fire during her search, she pauses a moment to put it out if she can manage to do so. And still she holds the initial bit of magic, keeping a pocket of breathable air around her.

That first pocket of survivors she runs into, she stops beside. "Stay with me, I'll get you out. Where are more survivors likely to be?" With a guide, trying to get people out will be both easier and faster. Staying to the halls as she is, looking for people, Wanda remains ignorant, for now, of that massive hole and underground complex. Whenever she comes up against one of those blast doors, a combination of probability manipulation and chaos magic is used to open them to check for people inside. And once done, to close the blast doors again. Every little bit helps add to the faltering stability of the building.

She-Hulk has posed:
Taking a moment to survey things, Jennifer sticks with her original plan, testing walls to make sure she doesn't damage or further damage load bearing walls, then rips blast doors out of the way of trapped people, making new more direct opening out through walls going away from the explosions and flames, and freeing anyone she sees trapped. She notices the occasional burst of cold, but like the heat, she can withstand it more than others, and so she continues to gesture to people on how to get out, only breathing to tell people "Get to safety and get medical attention, even if you think you feel fine, you have no idea what could happen to you or how inhaling fumes could have affected you. I wasn't green a half hour ago." then taking a deep breath and returning inside to help more people.

Lex Luthor has posed:
It doesn't take long to clear out the first floor and the top floor as Jennifer, Wanda, and Jua work their way through the complex... and one of the survivors even directs the three heroes towards two sets of stairs and an elevator. "Most of the work for this project is done down below, to keep the more volatile materials from doing serious damage. Someone probably made a serious mistake with the reactor containment prototype. You need to get that under control and shut down."

There are no new fires, though the previous ones that Superman put out are obviously barely contained. Whatever material exploded here seems to be extremely flammable, and will take a couple minutes to actually die down. Meanwhile? It's practically a miracle that Superman got there when he did, and has visibly prevented a serious dabacle, and made it merely a localized disaster.

Emergency vehicles are starting to come into view, fire trucks and ambulances.

And far off in the distance, on a beeline directly from LexCorp Tower from the south, is a LexCorp branded transport helicopter.

Kid has posed:
Chemicals...Reactors...oh this was going to be good. Malcolme (aka Jua, but in diguise) nods, but isn't big on talking. Instead he opts to quickly redirect people to get out of the building. As he does so, he is feeding, a scientist here, an engineer here. Small bits, not enough to hinder him, but enough to keep giving him additional knowledge on how the place potentially works, the chemicals down there, how they might react. Knowledge was power, and right now he was compounding as much knowledge as he can as he makes his way down those flights of stairs. From the side, walking would be two slow, so he goes with a controlled fall - halving the time it would take to get down there. Bonus - get him father from the rising smoke technically. But this also ment he would soon be meeitng the other heros.

Superman has posed:
Well, all in a day's work.

Seriously, Superman's timing unintentionally turns out to be pretty good. That being said, its a wonder more lives were saved than lost, this could've been a massive disaster. Luckily, not only did Superman help, but four other heroes as well.

But...when Superman takes notice of the LexCorp helicopter, those eyes of his narrow. He's going to be having a talk with Luthor.

But his attention is still on the flamesand making sure they don't get out of control.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
At least the path behind Wanda is pretty clear and open, and more or less stable thanks to her magic's influence. People have a path to safely exit that way and anybody she runs into is sent in that direction. She doesn't give much advise other than, "Go that way," before she moves on each time. When she's pointed at the stairs and elevator, she nods, and moves immediately toward the elevator.

The doors are unceremoniously opened with whatever means it takes, and Wanda Maximoff gets out of the elevator itself through the hatch in the roof. She slips past it and starts to fly down. Swiftly, but controlled, hands pointed down to control her descent down the long shaft. She doesn't stop until she reaches the bottom. There, that set of doors is opened the same way as the first. And she steps out into whatever awaits, ready for whatever it's going to be. Reactor containment prototype. This could be bad!

She-Hulk has posed:
Like the other two, Jenn is not in the mood nor wasting time with the slow descent, and instead opts for free falling, humming Tom Petty as she goes. She leaps three miles in a single bound with ease, so the drop is not going to hurt her in the slightest. She isn't sure what to expect, but with the majority of people safely out, and safe paths left for others to follow, it is time to move on to the secondary goals, finish the extinguising of everything left buring, locate the source, and handle any repercussions. Somewhere deep inside, she hopes and prays this will be simple, not some elaborate Xanatos gambit (or would it be a Luthor gambit?) (Actually that brings up the question, is there a Gambit gambit? Or is that just silly and a bit redundant?). She tries to be ready for anything as she surveys the area around her upon landing.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Down the elevator is chaos.

There's a raging fire still in the central chamber, going up into the sky that Jennifer safely ignores as she drops down... and her sudden impact justles debris, which suddenly buckles under weight, creating a slow motion domino effect that will no doubt effect the a pile of rubble. Honestly? It's hard to make out anything down her with all the smoke and debris. From the elevator, Wanda can see a bunch of people trapped under a steel beam just a dozen feet in front of her. Beyond that? She can't see through the smoke either.

Outside, emergency vehicles are on the scene... but that helicopter is already hovering above, and lands just inside the parking lot. The doors open, and both Mercy and Hope fan out as Lex Luthor steps out just behind them, face a cool mask as he adjusts his business suit, staring at the complex as it continues aflame. Somewhere within, another explosion occurs. Much smaller.

There's a glance to Mercy, and a nod from him, and she nods back before she starts to head for the complex herself.

Lex? His eyes go right for Superman, and he stares as his hands remain behind his back... before he starts to walk over, Hope going to her place just to his left and behind.

Kid has posed:
Well at least they can give LexCorp one thing, inspite of the fire and having a 600 pound gorrila scaling the sides of it down, they held up just fine. If Jua happens to find anyone down in the lower complex, he can direct them to those stairs at the very least. But now that he is down there proper, he uses what knowledge he stole from the various workers to go deeper into the complex and try to find the source of the problem, or even a room with a vat of chemicals, thinking perhaps he can whip something up to help stop the fire.

Superman has posed:
Lex Luthor.

Heinously unsurprising to see him here. But why is he here personally as opposed to sending a representative? Superman takes immediate notice of him and his eyes lock onto his own. With the fires being mostly contained, Superman doesn't approach Luthor. Rather, He uses his X-Ray vision to try and find specific peoples in the facility.

His plan?

Burrow underground and forcefully create and alternative route into the building....and a new exit so they don't have to risk the elevator shaft again.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Trapped people. Wanda steps forward out of the elevator shaft. The air currents from the fire cause her hair to float about her at random, perhaps not helped by that pocket of breathable air she keeps about herself. She waves a hand toward the steel beam trapping a bunch of people, even as she walks toward it. With concentration, that beam lifts up and out of the way, and then back to the floor where people aren't.

Wanda Maximoff turns her attention to the now freed people. "Take the stairs and go, quickly," she says to them. And that's all the attention they get as she turns to walk deeper in, heading toward the thicker smoke. She wafts as much of it away from herself with her power as she can so she can get a view of where she needs to go to help stop this.

She-Hulk has posed:
Looking down as her feet, Jennifer pout, then looks around. She had hoped that the foundation would be sturdier, but as Carlton LaForyge loves to remind people, hindsight is 2020, which means it makes you feel miserable and question your every decision in life, especially when you look back on it. She starts to prepare a family technique often used for extinguishing flames, spreading her arms, her palms straight and rigid, then she pauses, rethininking using the thunderous clap, and instead looks to the rubble beneath her feet and tries to guage any way to use it, sifting a bit through it for usable material.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Jua doesn't find anyone who knows the details of what happened, but he does find people who have a good idea of the layout of the entire building, and from that, can guess that the fire itself is coming from a chamber down at the bottom of that fiery well. Whether he takes the stairwells to the opposite ends of the building or just jumps into the pit itself, braving the fires, there's a ton of smoking blocking his vision. He, however, can start to navigate his way over to that chamber where the explosion originated.... and eventually gets a glimpse of both Jennifer and Wanda as they move around.

In fact, all three of them see each other at practically the same time, with Jennifer grabbing steel beams and using them to help keep the structure intact.

Jua can tell from his memory the chamber is a few dozen feet away... but without a new mind to 'burrow' from, he only has a vague idea of what is actually going on down here.

Superman, meanwhile, finds a relatively safe section of earth to 'burrow' through near the front side of the bottom of that underground complex. Immediately, smoke starts to billow into the shaft he created as the fires down here rage, and the debris blocks most of his vision. Through it, however, he can see another group of trapped souls in a testing chamber of some kind; steel beams are blocking the doors and the windows are broken. They are, however, safe inside. For now.

Kid has posed:
This was...alot of infomation to process, that was for certain. The stolen infomation was useful, but not perfect. He needed something more...filling. But for the moment, he notices the two heros. One of them looked...kinda like the hulk, if the hulk was a girl, and the other looked like fire...kinda. It hard to tell with smoke, but what he did know is she also wasn't the cause of it.

The Gorrila was still very much in his human illusion, looking more like a buissness man than a hero, but that was neither here nor there right now. Instead he decides to try and telepathically communite with both of them.

The attempted message was o O (Whatever is causing these explosions is comming from a chamber not too far from here. From what I can tell there making some rather volatile things. Not sure if we can stop the fire above from exploding, but if we can stop the explosion from below that should help. I don't suppose either of you have a way to contain a fire to let it burn itself out, do you?)

Meanwhile he was moving towards the chambers carefully. Volatile manufacture likely classifed this as a Class D fire...water extinguishing not fit, powder, other fire absorbing chemicals or oxygen depletion are the best avenues...which might explain why a sprinkler system wasn't keeping this place in check to begin with.

Superman has posed:
Superman finds his spot and suddenly, he dives straight into the ground with speed and purpose, moving like a blur and causing a noticeable rumble in the ground from the impact. It doesn't take him long to reach various amounts of debris, but...he sees a group of individuals in some kind of testing chamber.

Fire never bothered Superman anyway.

So, with extremely little effort, he removes the steel beams blocking him from the doors, which he pushes open gently, unless more force is required. The first thing he does? Headcount. Make sure the number of survivors stay the same. "Everyone! Out this way!" He calls out to them. This place is unstable, and can't be trusted to maintain its structure.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff glances at each of those she sees as she sees them. There's a somewhat surprised blink at the telepathic communication. She makes a hand motion and the color of the flames on that hand shade a bit more toward purple. And speaks back to Jua much as he had to both her and Jennifer. .oO(Someone mentioned a reactor containment prototype. The problem is probably there. I can contain it, if I can get to it, but I have to be able to see it to know what I'm dealing with.)

Wanda moves in roughly the same direction as the others, toward the area likely to be the cause of this. Still toward the thickest of the smoke. Hopefully, toward the chamber where the fire is located so the cause can be dealt with.

She-Hulk has posed:
There is a moment of surprise, as Jenn was not expecting to be contacted telepathically, and it actually causes her rage to spike. Too many beings have messed with her head, so she does feel a touch violated, but then she also realizes that telepathy is one of the safest forms of communication in this situation, so she reluctantly tries seeing if the link works both ways, since she doesn't actually have telepathic powers of her own, the first part of her initial thoughts having a hint of anger in them, . o O (THIS WORK Both ways? If it does, I'm pretty sure there is chemical fire suppressants closer... and Scarlet Witch might be able to actually surround the flame in a bubble and cut off its air. I'm never quite sure how her powers work at any given time. I think it depends on the writers, directors, and/or players interpretation. I can probably handle taking any suppressants close enough to use them if there is not a more effective and safe delivery system. Man, I hope I'm not just thinking in my head and nobody is hearing me. This would really be embarrassing if I'm just continuing to add support and no one is actually mentally listening to be able to reply. Is someone listening? La la la la la la la? If I started thinking about BLV's Badunkadunk song and video or bunches of Youtube Videos or movie and tv spoilers, would that somehow be seen and heard by someone else? Hmmmmm, testing... Nine to five, it'll steal your soul. Need the rhythm to get your flow. Dat badunkadunk need some fire. No badunkadunk can't be tired. Watch me whip it, and watch me go. Drinking like we're in Mexico. Dat badunkadunk need some fire. No badunkadunk can't be tired...) O o . sing in her head, not letting up her pace, but actually starting to dance a bit as she braces walls and what is left of ceilings to create some sort of reinforcement until she gets a response... or not. She pauses, and nods to Wanda, either way, she moves toward the Scarlet Witch, and gives a thumbs up, smiling a bit, as she makes small claps, not huge thunderous ones, but strong enough to create a dozen yards of smoke to be forced away by the rushes of air, signalling Wanda to follow, still sort of dancing to the song.

Lex Luthor has posed:
The source is easy enough to find once the heroes get close enough... and it immediately becomes obvious what the problem is.

Jennifers small claps cause a bit of ruckus, but the debris is mostly focused AROUND this chamber, as it exploded outward. With the smoke locally cleaned up a bit, The basketball sized material within a half-broken spherical chamber is shining like the sun. Within the chamber are bodies, at least ten of them, and on either side of the chamber -despite the bright red letters- can be barely seen large cabinets "Emergency containment failsafe"

Around the three heroes is just a massive sphere of destruction though. It's clear that this is probably the cause of the disaster.

Superman, meanwhile, manages to get the people out. His vision anywhere else in the area is hampered normally... but he can clearly see the couple dozen bodies of dead people, and Jennifer, Jua, and Wanda at the other end of the complex, moving towards a spherical chamber.

Kid has posed:
Jua immediately gets angry and annoyed at Jennifer. Partly because he already feeling everyone around and now there was this lady hulk being extra pissed too. And he couldn't even take a deep breath, there is smoke everywhere.

o O (Yes and No. No time to explain. But for the love of mangos, can you stop with the singing. I am sure you have a lovely voice, but now is not the time.) that was directed at Jennifer specificly, he didn't know who scarlet witch was, and he honestly didn't really care at the moment.

Speaking of scarlet witch, he transmits to her o O (Right, seems that what they were going for, and it failed spectacularly.)

Now to both of them o O (Alright, well I don't know about you guys, but I ain't fire proof, so I am NOT going near a mintature sun. But...yes, I sense some other minds nearby. I am going to find them and try to guide them out. Do you two think you can handle that thing?)

Message sent, Jua begins trying to find the minds he sensed in the general area.

Superman has posed:
Superman's vision is somewhat hampered, but his X-Ray vision helps him take notice of the bodies of dead people...and the others moving towards a spherical chamber. After insuring that the people he just got out did indeed get out safely, Superman follows the path where it leads where it will hopefully reunite him with the others.

Or somewhat close to it.

They might not be a miniature sun, but Superman on the other hand? That's a day at the beach. He tries to fly on over to the group, digging through dirt, stone, and metal if needed. "What'd I miss?" He questions of the team.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
That inner monologue by the green one actually has Wanda pause for a moment. There's a quiet mental chuckle. Perhaps at the words asking if she can be heard. Perhaps at the song. Perhaps at some thought going through her own mind. Whatever it is, only the chuckle goes through. .oO(Good song.)Oo. There's a pause, and then more follows. Now that they're together, she talks aloud. "I should be able to surround it and cut of its air, yes. Depending on what it is. Since it's experimental, it might not."

Those claps forcing the smoke away are a good thing. It means Wanda can more or less stop concentrating on keeping breathable air around herself. And so she does, to conserve her strength for what's yet to come. She turns and follows behind Jennifer. And into that spherical chamber. And that.. whatever it is basketball sized... star? Wanda squints and refrains from looking directly at it. "I.. do not think I can contain this. It is too much."

She-Hulk has posed:
Looking back and Wanda, Jenn debates, she probably would have advised Wanda to keep up the bubble, if for no other reason than a precaution, but it is too late, and so she risks using her own breath, "I could try to crush it, but my field of study was law, and some dance, Bruce was always the one into science. I wouldn't want to risk causing a fission reaction and really blowing this place off the map, along with probably everyone besides myself and the guy with an S on his chest, and maybe not even me. Bruce is the closest thing I know to someone who has been at point blank ground zero when something along those lines has gone boom, and I think he even sent his crazy evil future self to that exact spot because he knew even he couldn't withstand a blast that close." she pouts, "We could...." then seeing Supeman nearing, "Anyway you can take that and drop it on Krolotea, Klyntar, some other scummy planet beginning with K?" pausing, the adding, "Not that all planets beginning with K are scummy." she hasn't actually stopped singing in her head, but she has dialed it down from full on concert performance grooving out, to more barely beyond humming softly in the background of her other thoughts.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"You don't want to do that." Comes a synthetic voice from above. "Open those cabinets to each side and hit the red button. There's a system in place to deal with this."

The voice is obscured in the smoke. Neither Jennifer nor Wanda would recognize the voice.

Superman though... he would recognize the voice as belonging to a mechanical suit that ambushed him out of nowhere months ago, and has been seen on occasion around the world. X-ray vision doesn't penetrate it, and the pilot has given him no sign of who he is or what he wants, besides having access to kryptonite based technology capable of fighting the Man of Steel.

Why is he here, of all places?

"Toss that somewhere else, and you just cause a disaster there as the output burns itself out."

Jua, meanwhile, has a solid fix on the survivors, and while it's slow going, is able to handle debris and smoke impairment enough to pull out the few remaining in the underground. There are more in the complex floors above, if he wants to take the time to get up there.

Kid has posed:
Jua looked at the tunnel, well THAT is helpful o O (Huh, welp I ain't complaining. Good enough for me. Alright, move or I'll lose it and you do NOT want that) yes he was infact threatening the people he was helping to rescue...but it got them moving, into the tunnel using it as an escape path. It had fresher air and everything...and probably some officers tossing down a ladder...he hopes.

Of note Superman would recognize the psionic voice, even if not the illusion itself. But Jua didn't stick around, he can still sense people up above. Hopefully the upper floors fires have been stabalized from supermans earlier intervention...if that was the case it should be easier to reach other trapped folks and guide them to a safe path

o O (Welp, good like Supes, Flex, and Witchy, gonna find more souls) and with that he takes off away from the chamber and back up to try and find the last few stragglers.

Superman has posed:
Superman nods to Jua as he takes off to find more people to save. But this....this is the source of all this destruction. Or atthe very least, what is intended to be kept largely under wraps. No doubt yet another of Lex's schemes. Though the voice that's heard just makes Superman frown.

"I don't trust this." and if Superman doesn't trust something....yeah.

"I could deposit it into the Sun." he questions, even as he stares at this...thing. "But that could cause a massive chain reaction that we don't want." Superman ponders. But to be honest...Superman just wants to get this energy source offworld.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff probably should have kept up the bubble as a precaution. Especially now that she sees that miniature star and has a feeling there's not much she can do with it without becoming a casualty herself. She blinks once at that voice, and looks up. Then to the cabinets. She ignores Jua threatening people. Getting them moving and out takes what it takes. She lifts a hand and waves her fingers at the departing Jua. .oO(Good luck to you as well.)Oo. She doesn't watch him go, eyes still on the cabinets.

Wanda's gaze moves from the cabinets briefly and to Superman. "What say we get it under control first. Then you can deposit the whole thing somewhere that won't destroy any planets? Maybe in deep space where there are no planets?" There's a thought. A scarlet fiery glow comes to her hands again, and she waves them to, hopefully, flick open the cabinets.

She-Hulk has posed:
Shrugging, Jenn ponders, "Too bad we can't stash it in another dimension where time and physical form don't exist, so it is in permanent stasis and can't interact with anyone or anything. Someplace Beyond our realm of existence, or maybe a dimension where the laws of physics are different, like Time's arrow goes the other way, so instead of getting worse, it gets better, or a dimension with more dimensions, so like how a line is one dimension, a square is two, a cube is three, a tesseract is four, and whatever is beyond a tesseract... a penteract or decateron or something is common." she then looks at the suited being, "I sort of selected those places because it would be a not disaster if they were hit by a disaster. Better to dispose of it where it will not harm any life on Earth, and maybe disuades some really nasty non-Earth life to think thrice before messing with Earth."

Lex Luthor has posed:
As the buttons inside each cabinet are flicked, a blast dome suddenly comes up and over down over the breached sphere, and an LED on the side turns red, along with a screen that says "Stabilizing...". Below that is a bunch of numbers and letters that look like a reading display.

"Five minutes, and it will be safe to leave it alone. The rest of the damage can be safety dealt with and the smoke cleared." The voice speaks. "Search and Rescue and the fire department are handling the upstairs."

Jua can easily find the rest of the survivors, and the fire department is coming in now to assist. It looks to be well handled now.

Below, the display slowly begins to die down, the numbers getting lower and lower. "Whatever happened here went too fast for the failsafes to kick in. A tragedy."

Kid has posed:
Well, firemen inside, ment police officers outside. He didn't deal with either - one winds up with the precient, the other with jail. Jua opted for an 'invisible' illusion, directing and pushing survivors to where the firemen where, and the firemen to where the survivors where if he couldn't reach them. But beyond that he was out of there!

Superman has posed:
Superman narrows his eyes. "We could, if I take it into the Phantom Zone." Though an object of that level of power might very well hold an unknown level of destruction. It's moments like these where Superman has to ask himself: What would Batman do?

Yes, Superman does not have all the answers, no matter how much he wishes he did. So sometimes he has to think about his actiosn truly, because not everything can be punched or talked out of the way. So, Superman approaches the blast dome. "This doesn't belong here." Superman states, and he's clearly moving with intent towards the sphere, likely to take it away.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff shakes her head ever so slightly. "There is nothing to say that just because time and physical form in this other dimension, that there isn't life there. Just not of a variety we are familiar with." Wanda shakes her head and looks to the thing again. "It would probably be better if it were destroyed."

She wrinkles her nose. "Disuade, or piss them off enough they come hunting for us." She glances to the suited person. Or robot. Or.. whatever it is. She shakes her head. "A preventable tragedy that shouldn't have ever happened. Technology that you don't understand is not something that should be played around with." Whatever Superman's intention, she doesn't make any moves to stop him. Obviously, from her words she agrees with him.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"So. The Man of Steel is a thief now. I thought you were supposed to be a paragon of human law, /Kryptonian/." The synthetic voice mocks.

Then, something lands right in front of Superman, fist to the ground and causing a minor stir, and a green and purple suit stands directly in Supermans way, a green glowing visor facing him down.

At this distance, Superman can feel the telltale signs of kryptonite radiation. Whatever else that suit has... it's laced with the stuff.

"The material inside is being cooled off and is LexCorp property. If you want to help-" A mechanical gauntlet gestures over the disaster, "-help people here. Everything done here was government supervised. You are not welcome to take it."

She-Hulk has posed:
Looking between the pair, Jennifer frowns, she is a bit conflicted. Whatever the thing or stuff is, it caused problems, but she is also the cousin of a man who worked for the Government testing dangerous stuff. The fact that such testing lead to his own empowerment when a sweet, albeit sometimes wreckless, musican broke the law and tresspassed, and that cousin risked his life to save the law breaker, and later that empowerment saved Jennifer's own life, means she knows both the dangers of breaking the rules and the benefits of sometimes dangerous experimentation.

Then there is the fact that Jennifer is a lawyer and sometimes a Magistrar, and that is where she has to side, "If the object is legal property of LexCorp, and Government Sanctioned, it would be both a criminal and terroist act to take it anywhere else. It is contained, and seems to have been stabilized." she looks sternly at both Superman and the LexSuit, "Would LexCorp be accepting of Superman perhaps using his super senses to monitor the future situation, as a precaution, to prevent further issues and/or be on alert to counter any possible future incidents?" her tone serious but a touch pleading, as if she wants to negotiate terms of a compromise, rather than having to fight any of the people here. She looks between them, "And, since, I am of the understanding, that you would not want to be charged with a crime, Superman, which wold require you to appear in court, endangering who knows how many while you are occupied, this would be an acceptable compromise for you as well?" perhaps trying to hint that legal proceeding are never a good place for costumed supers with secret identities, large galleries of foes, and/or who being in court could allow for worse things to happen in their absence.

Superman has posed:
Superman's attention shifts to Wanda for a second, nodding softly. "Most certainly. If this thing would've gone off, the loss of life..." the Man of Steel shakes his head ever so slightly, perhaps some disappointment residing in his tone that this sphere of death even exists. Suddenly though, there's a green and purple mechsuit in front of him to stop his advance.

"Luthor."

His tone is angered and upset. "Any situation where human life is threatened, en masse, regardless of oversight, is where I come in to help. You are holding an energy source you don't understand under 'surveillance', when the destructive properties could be astronomical." he narrows his eyes.

...even as Jennifer decides to try and salvage the situation.

But here's the problem: Luthor isn't clean. No matter how much Luthor attempts to cover his tracks, Superman -knows- he's bad. "This isn't right, Luthor." his fists clench.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff makes no move as of yet, beyond what she's said. Staying neutral? Perhaps. Or perhaps she's waiting to decide what the wisest course of action here would be. She looks back and forth between the freshly arrived suit, and Superman. "Government supervised and being someone's property doesn't necessarily mean it's right." Wanda takes a breath. "But also doesn't mean it's wrong."

However, Jennifer's words seem to strike a chord, for Wanda nods. "For that matter, perhaps I can cast a spell to make sure the damage is contained to this room when it gets out of containment again." She pauses. "Or a spell to monitor the situation so that I'm alerted when it starts to get out of hand again." Like Jennifer, Wanda seems to be at least trying to salvage this situation without it winding up in a fight.

Wanda notes the apparent anger from Superman, and she steps up beside him as his fists are clenching. She reaches one hand out in to rest her hand on his upper arm just below his shoulder closest to him. "Superman," she says, her voice calm. "If we fight, how many people are going to be in danger?"

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Ask Luthor himself if you like, I saw him in the parking lot when I flew over." The synthetic voice replies to Jennifer, "the UN is supervising all of... this." The gauntleted hand takes in the whole room, then. "The material inside is a prototype for an energy source. Built and designed by LexCorp. By the readings from my sensors, someone in this complex miscalculated and didn't design the first set of failures right. Human error at it's worst. Given that LexCorp designed this whole machine, it's presumptuous of you to think you know it better." The suited man turns in place, and looks sideways at the machine, "UN supervised, so you could just appeal directly to the Secretary-General." He looks back to Superman, "Unless you want to test how long it takes for a fight to break this dome open and turn that-" He offhandedly gestures to the dome, "-unstable again, because you think you know better than humans how to handle human affairs?"

The man in the suit looks to Wanda, then. "Until it's stabilized, this would be a small nuclear scale explosion. None of us wants that. The failures were /designed/ to prevent that. The coolant being injected inside will stop the processes so it can be reset. A containment... spell?... would probably be fine. I can't imagine another layer of failsafes being a bad thing."

She-Hulk has posed:
She has no idea if she can take Superman. She is not angry, and while she might be able to reach that point, Jennifer doesn't want to even think of the collateral damage. She does try to puff herself up as much as possible, put that slight height advantage up front as she says, "If this was made by LexCorp, you are trying to define something by potential, which is a fallacy. Everything has the potential to be dangerous in the wrong hands. Couldn't a Kryptonian use a pebble to kill someone from miles away? If they properly install the proper failsafes, and you are given authorization to monitor, isn't that enough? Or is Superman now the Super Lord of the world, and only his opinion matters?" she doesn't know the same stuff about Luthor, so she can't be expected to distrust him the same way.

Nodding and smiling to Wands, Jennifer adds, "Would LuthorCorp be also willing to authorize a Mystical Warding or Alert Spell, for the added precaution to prevent further disasters?" looking to the suit, "We all want what is best, not just to stifle progress for fear of the unknown. But added safety measures are always a good thing, right?" she glances at Superman, "We don't want to live in a world where the freedom to think, invent, create, and explore the unknown are controlled and crushed under a Steel Boot of Fear and the illusion of safety."

Superman has posed:
Superman's eyes narrow. "You don't know him." He tells Jennifer, though it's not in rage, it's calm and gentle. "And you know that's not how I operate." Superman then turns his attention to the mech being that stands before him. "I'm aware that people shouldn't be playing with nuclear ordinance, small or otherwise. If the sphere is reinforced with magic, then I'm satisfied." Though it's said with a 'on your head be consequences' style of tone.

And with that, Superman stays right where he is, looking then to Wanda. "No matter how this goes down, unless it's the path of least resistance, people will be hurt." he shakes his head. "Are you certain, absolutely, that you can assist with keeping this thing at bay?" he questions of Wanda.

Though to Jennifer, he answers. "Believe what you want about Luthor and his company, but I don't trust him. He's far darker than you know." he tells Jennifer warningly, but says nothing else.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff nods to the suited guy. "I can keep that from harming anyone. If I'm here when it happens." As another layer of failsafes is accepted, she nods again and closes her eyes for a brief moment. "Good," she says, eyes opening. "Good. Once it has calmed down, I will set up a containment spell that will alert me when it is activated." She seems to have a grim sort of faith that this sort of thing will happen again. "That way, I can make sure it stays contained."

Collateral damage is most of what Wanda is thinking about at this point. And why she stepped up beside Superman. She doesn't want to see anybody else get hurt beyond the disaster that has already occured. Wanda also doesn't know a great deal about Luthor, so much like Jennifer, she doesn't distrust him in this moment. Wary? Oh yes, she is that. But, perhaps... he has good intentions.

Wanda's hand lingers on Superman's arm until he looks to her. Only then does she drop her hand. She nods, about the path. And again about being certain. "I am certain I can assist keeping this thing contained. And I believe you."

She looks to the suit, expression thoughtful. "Would you consider moving this facility to somewhere more remote? If it can be moved safely?"

Lex Luthor has posed:
The suited man gestures with a gauntleted finger up, generally towards the parking lot. "His assistant, Ms. Graves, remains on the property. Ask her about such matters. I'm just here to assist."

Behind him, the LED readout flashes, "50 percent complete."

She-Hulk has posed:
As things seem good now, Jennifer smiles to Wanda, "Meet up for Brunch on Sunday? Mansion and we can walk to a cafe." then turns and leaps back to wear she stashed her briefcase and smaller clothes. The night is still cool, so she just grabs her stuff and leaps, after all, why not let the wind blow through her hair and enjoy the evening. Okay, maybe she helped evil, maybe she helped a man with good intentions but ambiguous motives, but either way, she did the right thing... for now.
